November 7, 2012 at 9:21 pm

November 7, 2012 at 9:29 pm
You guys need to do a fucking Podcast. Spend an hour or two a week and just have conversations like this.
November 7, 2012 at 9:40 pm
Yeah you’ve definitely succeeded.
November 7, 2012 at 10:00 pm
Love these off-the-cuff type videos! Yeah, I’d say you guys have definitely succeeded; made my life much happier for the past 5 or so years.
November 7, 2012 at 11:10 pm
Id love to see more stuff by Cinemassacre not related to AVGN. I love AVGE but YKwBS and Monster Madness rock. Good luck guys cant wait for avgn movie!
November 7, 2012 at 11:32 pm
Fantastic video! Really explained quite a bit and it was just wonderful to see you guys sharing some very personal moments. You two have grown SO much in this business since the beginning. Thank you for all you guys do! If it weren’t for Cinemassacre, I would have NOTHING to do on my lunch breaks at work. No joke. I use the app every single day and just watch and rematch all the episodes. The Christmas episodes I wont even touch until after Thanksgiving as I now consider it part of my “holiday specials” rotation. Thanks again!
November 7, 2012 at 11:36 pm
Please stop using “like” as a filler word three times per sentence.
I find it extremly annoying to hear this word 183 (yes i counted) times in almost 18 minutes.
That like you know like 10 likes in like a minute.
November 8, 2012 at 12:25 am
i love the Nerd, but,i think i’m the only person who is more into his other stuf on the site,i mena like his movie reviews, or his tribute videos, etc.
November 8, 2012 at 12:30 am
Lonnnnnng time lurker, but first time poster….thank you both for all of your contributions. I’m with most of the other posters in saying I love these type of videos…the taping of you guys playing Street Fighter IV, for instance, or the Michelangelo pizza challenge. Keep it up, and thanks for being so damn entertaining!
November 8, 2012 at 12:38 am
Thanks James and Mike and all the staff also were behind!!! I actually discovered you guys since 2 months ago i supose, and I’m very entertained all time!! I really love all the oldie stuff and both taught me new things ! and of course many others I enjoyed as a child… In costa rica, yes , central america! i don’t care the less minor details .. Of course Mike has less experience on front on the camera so is not as accurate as james sometimes. but he brought us great material and great stuff!!! Compare thsis to what is showed on TV all day. I dismissed the tv many years ago for that reason… Keep inspiring and teaching people guys!
November 8, 2012 at 12:43 am
Im so ready for the movie.
November 8, 2012 at 1:07 am
Thank you for finally clearing up that James doesn’t handle his Youtube channel and anything said on his Youtube channel, like that bullshit claim on the Zelda Timeline video where Mike said the timeline was made up to shut up fans, was not James’s opinion.
November 8, 2012 at 1:13 am
Entertained =) Absolute favorite entertainment, from Monster Madness to Board James and from AVGN to all the different reviews.
Thanks!
November 8, 2012 at 1:14 am
cool video guys. ive always been a fan of all of cinemassacre’s videos. Can’t wait for the trailer to come out.
Oh and show more behind the scenes footage from the movie after the trailer comes out!
November 8, 2012 at 1:45 am
I think that only casual or very new fans don’t know who Mike is or what he does. I think this was a great video that should be added to the upcoming AVGN DVD release for bonus features. I know a lot of people may not agree with me, maybe not even James himself, but I think it would be good to retire the Nerd after the movie is released. That way it allows you, James, to do more things how you like to do them. I’ve seen your other movies you’ve done and I really liked them. You have a very unique style that cannot be found anywhere else. I would love to see you do more movies and come up with new characters to work off of. I love the AVGN, he’s been a great source of enjoyment for me over these many years I’ve been watching. I’ve loved the other things you’ve done as well, such as Board James and Bullshit Man. I just feel the only way you’re going to grow as an artist is to let some of this things go into retirement so you can make other films and characters. Good luck with everything you do, James. You’ve definitely been blessed. : )
November 8, 2012 at 1:55 am
Mike you really stole the show when you starred as the Joker during the Batman AVGN episodes.
November 8, 2012 at 2:38 am
ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?!?!
Yes James. Yes I am. Thank you, you two.
November 8, 2012 at 3:01 am
James, I love your work. But stop being such a prick to Mike. Jus sayin.
November 8, 2012 at 3:16 am
I didn’t know a lot stuff, thank to Mike we are sure not to miss James videos.
November 8, 2012 at 3:32 am
Your characters are great Mike, the Joker and the cowardly lion from Wizard of Oz are my favourite, great acting makes me crack up every time
November 8, 2012 at 3:57 am
@ Toukz: I second that. I am very entertained by these types of videos (even if there’s no actual video, just audio, like in Dracula’s commentary), and I think it would be great for James and Mike to have their own podcast where they just talk about stuff they’re interested in. I’m sure many people who watch vids here but never comment feel the same way.
November 8, 2012 at 4:50 am
These videos have been a sort of medicine for me . they bring me joy and make life a little bit better .
For that i thank you James .
November 8, 2012 at 5:51 am
You both guys do an incredible job. Cinemassacre is like a sanctuary for me.
November 8, 2012 at 6:10 am
I had to comment since I heard Mike mention Kyle Justin. Both of you are ballers in your own right but PLEASE bring Kyle back in something soon. Just rewatched the Spiderman episode recently and I was howling at Kyle’s simple delivery of “you have to press the up key”, “James like the little web”, “superbomb!”, and “It’s fucking spiderman” in the first 3 minutes alone.
November 8, 2012 at 6:26 am
James, Mike and the rest of the crew have definitely entertained me for the five years I’ve followed Cinemassacre. So, mission accomplished.
Thirding the podcast suggestion. James and Mike talk about interesting things in these improvised videos. Doing it in a podcast form would be interesting too.
November 8, 2012 at 7:01 am
I like boobs
November 8, 2012 at 7:15 am
We’re all definitely entertained. That’s why we keep coming back. I hope to advertise my adult fantasy book on this page. Please hit me back. I sent Mike an email. Thanks, y’all.
November 8, 2012 at 7:20 am
I like How the Cinemassacre site is kind of a social network in its self not really but you know with the whole profile thing and commenting plus with the like button added. I love this site Guys and I’ve been Entertained for 2 years now I think it is. I wish I knew of it sooner but no one had told me about it. I just happened to come across it searching on youtube randomly at old NES and Sega Commercials from the 80′s and 90′s. and I was just siting on my computer smoking weed, laughing my ass off all night I couldnt get to sleep I just had to stay away and watch as many as I could, It became so addictive. Thanks for the awesome Entertainment James and Mike you guys Kick Mega Fucking Ass man!!. I love you Title cards Mike and I thought your Acting for Jason and the joker and just your Acting in the AVGN Episodes in general was Extremely well Done I didnt think Anything Strange of it. My Fucking Favourite Though Is Definitely the MAd crazes Hippie AVGN FAn ASking 1000 Stupid Questions 1000 miles an hour lighting the Coat hanger wire with the Cigarette Lighter. And Leather face was done so well. Shit that was so Funny. I could Keeep Crapping on how much I love this. Sorry hahaha
November 8, 2012 at 7:56 am
I really like these unscripted videos. I can’t speak for anyone else, but you’ve entertained me greatly for years.
November 8, 2012 at 8:03 am
I have to be honest. MFMike, your video’s are just as entertaining. I loved you did MFMondays and really miss that. As to the fact that you played masked people, you did awesome, loved the reveal. You both have good chemistry and I hope to see you in more videos together. I still want to see Mike’s own videos as well, love the glitch videos!

November 8, 2012 at 8:16 am
Sorry for the double post,
I think anyone here on cinemassacre.com knows James can make an awesome movie, doesn’t matter the genre. His years of Monster Madness have proven he can tell what makes a good movie and what doesn’t. We’re looking forward to The AVGN Movie and hope it opens up opportunities for you to make more movies. (MFMike should make a cameo) I’m also holding out for a ‘special’ where you review The Wizard. Not a game but an extended Nintendo commercial.

November 8, 2012 at 9:19 am
There are thousands of online personalities that try to entertain through cartoons, comics, reviews, sketches or vlogs. Cinemassacre does it better because it’s original content and has variety. I know I won’t see an update of James doing gangnam style or some other bullshit, and that’s okay. From James to Mike to Kevin to Kyle and April. You are all extremely entertaining, whether it’s working individually or together.
November 8, 2012 at 9:22 am
i love the nerd videos, whenever a new one is out its like a special treat, but im glad mike talks about how James feels about that taking over,
i hope that the nerd movie shows that he can be a director and will get the chance to make real movies, id love to see his name on horror of scifi movies i watch or maybe even a tv show .
it would most likely mean less of or even no nerd after that but i think if that is James dream of where he wants to be we should help him in any way we can after what he has given us .
plus im sure if he did get to make proper films he would never forget his fans .
good luck james
p.s where does mike want to end up, wonder if he did the storyboards for the nerd movie
November 8, 2012 at 9:25 am

November 8, 2012 at 9:31 am
I still can’t forget my girlfriend’s reaction when she saw Mike. She said, “Oh my god, who’s the handsome guy next to James?” I said, “I can’t believe you, we’ve been watching AVGN for quite some time and this is the first time you’ve seen him?” She said, “well, I thought Mike’s job is on the title cards. I can’t believe James has a cute partner.” Well, good on you Mike.
November 8, 2012 at 9:31 am
I can understand what some of the other people are saying about your site. I feel sort of safe here sometimes when I just want to escape reality and watch some guys talk about all the stuff I love. I especially like to watch the show late at night in the midnight hours, just like the atmosphere and the “glow” from my computer screen.
November 8, 2012 at 10:22 am
you succeeded james
you have entertained me
November 8, 2012 at 10:23 am
and you too mike
November 8, 2012 at 10:36 am

And I’m sure I speak for many of us when I say: Yes. I am entertained. Keep up the good work guys!
November 8, 2012 at 11:51 am
Sometimes when I want to cheer me up a little bit, I watch some Nerd-clips. It always works.
November 8, 2012 at 12:02 pm
Its mike matinee not mike metei. Get your own name right.
November 8, 2012 at 12:04 pm
Never stop making stuff together.
November 8, 2012 at 12:30 pm
Mike is really, really pale O.o
November 8, 2012 at 1:13 pm
I discovered cinemassacre by complete accident about 4-5 years ago, and it has been a sanctuary ever since. When I’m down this is where I go to feel better, everybody involved has made my sad times better, great job guys, I can’t wait to see what the future holds. FREE KYLE JUSTIN!!!!!
November 8, 2012 at 1:50 pm
Mike reminded me of Conan O’Brien when he was dressed up as the Joker.
It’s so weird how making films as a kid can develop into something more as you get older. One of my best friends and I would make stupid videos from when we were kids and into our late teens. Now he has a really good web series where we travels abroad and acts as a sort of tour guide, but he always has his own sort of adventure to make it entertaining. I’ve been in a couple of the episodes as a guest, but I think he’s still doing the post-production on them.
Ultimately, what I’m getting at is that I “get this” video. It’s cool seeing that we weren’t the only ones doing this stuff when we were younger, even though it felt like it at the time.
Shameless plug of friend’s show:

it relatively scares me how 12 year old James, looked exactly like 12 year old me.
November 8, 2012 at 2:02 pm
Will Motherfucker Mike make an appearance in the AVGN movie?
November 8, 2012 at 2:19 pm
Loved this vid guys. Been watching you guys since….close to the beginning I think. I remember when the only AVGN videos you had were Simon’s Quest, Dr. J/Mr. H, Karate Kid, and I think Roger Rabbit had JUST came out. I guess what I’m saying is, I love everything you guys do. From the nerd to Monster Madness, to your movie reviews, YKWBS, Board James (hey, I really miss those episodes, you ought to do more) EVERYTHING is just really entertaining. Keep up the great work, I can’t wait for the feature film, I wish you guys all the best!
November 8, 2012 at 2:23 pm
We love you Mike! Please make some more videos! I am a big fan of your encyclopedia like knowledge, your morbid sense of humor and your thorough reviews of media. Show us some more unknown gems!
November 8, 2012 at 2:30 pm
Can’t wait for the movie! Love all the reviews, and I really enjoy your reviews Mike. You find some pretty obscure games! It’s sweeet. All the best to you both!

Me and my friend Istvan(✝) allways watched you guys, from the beginning. We grow up with you, my friend’ll can’t see the AVGN moovie, but I will and you allways made us entertained James. I can say on our behalf: You’re our hero!
And thank you for everything!
November 8, 2012 at 3:30 pm
You guys got the magic, my fucking idols!
November 8, 2012 at 3:31 pm
Lol I wrote much like the same that Crow87, I guess the feeling is universal about you guys
November 8, 2012 at 4:14 pm
I think a lot of your fan base understands you have more depth and higher aspirations than just AVGN videos. I think your videos provide comfort for a lot of people and I think that is a noble endeavor. I saw the video you posted of how you used to edit with two VCR’s and made films when you were young. It pretty much mirrored how I grew up. I also made about 60 or 70 short videos from mashups to originals but now I only do feature films. I just released my 8th feature film. I can not wait to see your AVGN feature film I know it will be great! Congrats on all your success and as someone who digs your work ethic and creativity I have a feeling you’ll be making a ton of larger feature films in the coming years and I think your fans will support you.
November 8, 2012 at 4:59 pm
I would like to see the AVGN movie do amazingly well and get picked up by a distributer. Then James could kill the nerd and start making different characters and writing/directing and stuff. It’s not that I don’t like the nerd, it’s just that we all know James is capable of more than just AVGN.
November 8, 2012 at 6:03 pm
Mike you should post another Donald Duck video!
November 8, 2012 at 7:07 pm
Yes, you have succeeded James. And Mike does an amazing job helping you out. Best wishes guys !!!!
November 8, 2012 at 9:10 pm
i smell the end of the AVGN… maybe James Want to do some other stuff.
maybe this is why they are talking about “james is capable to do some other things”… well these are my Two Cents..
but.. i hope im an a mistake!
because i enjoy and laugh like an idiot when i watch an episode of the AVGN
November 8, 2012 at 9:28 pm
@misterprickly
I really don’t get why they even allow posts like yours to stay up. I must say, if someone was commenting on MY work like that, I’d straight up delete it every time, no problem. Who honestly wants to read that kind of garbage?
November 8, 2012 at 10:29 pm
I really appreciate all of the effort you and Mike have put into making other people happy around the world! Mike, you shouldn’t be shy, your an extremely talented artist, and I really enjoy your movie reviews because they are a different style from James’, so I get 2 great film reviewers’ point of views.
November 8, 2012 at 11:07 pm
I’m really glad you guys made this video – I’ve been watching since the glory days of the TMNT NES video, and just wanted to pop in and say to James, Mike and everyone at Cinnemassacre: Keep up the excellent work!
November 9, 2012 at 3:54 am
@misterprickly
Wow, as a fan of the site I must say, way to live up to your screen name. If you are finished proving you were raised in a broken home, unable to have the common respect for man that is taught at the age of 3 I gotta say the video is merely Mikes point of view at being James friend throughout the success of AVGN. There is a lot of hard work that goes into the ‘free’ entertainment for your bloated head that is not talked about, only for you to shit out a bunch of slanderous bull right in the face of it all. Way to go.
Anyway, I commented to say that my favorite cameo of Mike is in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre along side Steve Klaszky, fine work on that one. Mike, bring back your Game Glitches videos, they were awesome!
November 9, 2012 at 7:24 am
@nalgman: I doubt it, really, James has always been a fan-conscious individual. I took this as a chill sit down that expands further for fans what both Mike and James do.
I think this is the answer to Mike’s discussion about James seemingly steered into a different direction that he’d intended, but I’d guess that direction was satisfying to James because he’s still doing what he likes, and has an audience, and a real fan-base.
November 9, 2012 at 8:39 am
Hy guys, Mike, first of all, you look good on camera and you shouldn’t be afraid of it
, second of all, I was wondering if you guys could do like a bloopers video(behind the scenes)whatever, we are curious to see how much you laughed or how many times it took to film a scene before you actually used it.That would be fun to watch.Greetings from Transylvania.
November 9, 2012 at 1:30 pm
Love the vid. I never knew Mike was camera shy in the past, he was really funny as the Cowardly Lion and Bugs Bunny.
November 9, 2012 at 2:17 pm
You’ve succeeded alright. You got to the point where we can watch you talk without any script and still find that interesting ! I like these kind of “behind the scenes” videos.
November 9, 2012 at 6:50 pm
Did Mike help beating Ghosts n Goblins? That game is punishing. Who’s the better gamer?
November 9, 2012 at 6:54 pm
Great raw video guys. Really nice to get more of a background of how things were and how they became what they are today.
I really liked hearing about how Mike got slowly involved and how AVGN unwillingly came to be.
And yes James, you have succeeded, i am very entertained by what Cinemassacre has to offer.
Keep up the great work the both of you, you certainly needed each other !
November 9, 2012 at 7:53 pm
I used to like the AVGN video’s, but this was just painful to watch… neither of these guys are at a point where they can sit back and talk about how successful they are. AVGN and all of James’ videos are small business, and will never gain widespread popularity. The people that post comments on these videos are nothing but a small group of fan boys, and their words should not be taken seriously. That being said, James is a hard-working individual, and I respect that… however, I happen to think he is better suited BEHIND the camera, not in front. His acting is always atrocious, and never comes off as natural. And FYI I’m not hating… I’m just expressing my true, unbiased opinion. Take it for what its worth.
January 19, 2013 at 5:47 pm
James has always said from the very beginning that he is NOT an improv kind of guy. He needs a script. He needs to rehearse. He needs to have several takes until he is satisfied with it. Does that make him a bad actor? No, it just makes him a poor improv actor. That said, there’s no way that James’ work is going to please everyone. Saying you don’t care for his work is fine, but saying that he’s small time, and always will be small time is a pretty fucking shitty thing to say and my “unbiased opinion” is for you to take your “unbiased opinion” and shove it up your condescending unbiased ass. If you don’t care for his work, fine. I can’t fault you for not liking it. But to tell someone to give up their dream because they’ll never succeed at it…that’s a whole different level of fuck-up-ed-ness.
November 9, 2012 at 8:18 pm
I miss having regular AVGN episodes! Hope you return to that after the movie is done, James. and Mike, you’re a welcome addition to the Cinemassacre team – I enjoy watching your videos just as much. Keep up the great work guys, your ultimate nerdy awesomeness is absolutely appreciated and enjoyed.
November 9, 2012 at 9:40 pm
I really like your videos. Hi james haven’t talked to you in email for a long time. I still think you should make a waynes world avgn movie, but i know your movie will be good. Mike do you have any tips for good drawing?
November 9, 2012 at 10:42 pm
so whens the AVGN movie comin out james???
November 10, 2012 at 2:17 am
Thanks for this Video!
When you are speaking of it, to show the Videos to as much people as possible … would you bring a Windows Phone 8 App, please!
Greetings from Germany!
November 10, 2012 at 2:22 am
hey mike those castlevania title cards were A+. I’m glad you noticed they were really great. I tend to watch that series the most because as I scroll through the videos, I see that art and i just get drawn to watch the episodes.
November 10, 2012 at 9:59 am
Well James, I am definitely entertained! I met my biological brother about 6 years ago, and of the first things he did after we met was show me your videos. I’ve been hooked ever since.
And I think Motherfucker Mike is the shyt! I know he just sort of filled in for James while the movie was being made, but I’d really like to see him keep posting reviews and videos on here.
November 10, 2012 at 1:58 pm
I’ve enjoyed Mike’s involvement so far in everything. I wouldn’t have believed he was camera shy from how well he did in the videos and the title cards are great. Seems like he got a lot of shit from his review videos but those were good too. Even if you didn’t like them you have to appreciate him doing them for us. it was that or nothing while James was busy with his movie. Keep up the good work Mike!
November 10, 2012 at 4:36 pm
I greatly appreciate all the stuff you’ve made and helped with, Mike, it wouldn’t be the same without you.
November 10, 2012 at 7:12 pm
Make an Ios app!! BTW, that vid’s great!
November 11, 2012 at 2:54 am
I will admit, I always was kind of curious as to why Mike had always hidden his face. I remember that he showed his face on video for the first time when I was Board James Crossfire. But before that, I always wanted to see his face. Good Job Mike for progressively becoming more comfortable.
By the way, your drawings are what make you very memorable and your knowledge for gaming. I respect you Mike.
November 11, 2012 at 10:48 am
yup you sure have succeeded im very entertain by your work and so are my brothers and sisters
November 11, 2012 at 1:25 pm
Even when they just talk for 17 minutes they’re so entertaining
You guys are fucking awesome and I saw the movie trailer! Holy shit can’t wait!!!!!!

Wow, Edinburgh castle at 11:02! Which video is that from? Greetings from Scotland
November 12, 2012 at 3:19 am
I AM entertained, success achieved.
November 12, 2012 at 11:13 am
I agree with Mike. I saw that video when it was posted of the snes vs sega and thought the same thing. His commentating and everything else was almost flawless. A video that displayed James’s skills. BTW great interview/commentary.
November 12, 2012 at 1:45 pm
We want more game glitches, Mike!
November 13, 2012 at 7:22 am
Please do a couple more Board James videos.
November 14, 2012 at 3:53 am
Hey there, first time post from a UK fan! It’s probably a boring question, but how has making Nerd videos helped James’ film work? Does regularly making them hone his filmmaking chops, rather than taking time away from making movies?

What is the video where James, I’m pretty sure Mike, were talking about something along the lines of “maybe that’s what the ghostbusters game was saying.” Then, they showed a picture of the Ghostbusters game with the word that the audio sounded like superimposed over the logo ?
February 12, 2013 at 4:07 pm
i have learned so much. thank you both for everything you have done. and thank you to everyone else who helps you out
February 15, 2013 at 9:42 am
Well, we’re definitely entertained, so you definitely succeeded! I have to say, that was a very interesting video. We knew a lot of this already, of course, but it was nice to get it all in one place, in a candid video, and from different perspectives.
