I know I’m the minority, but as a non-Trekkie, Brent will always be the ne’er-do-well bumpkin often running into trouble with the law on Night Court to me.
Holy crap on a crutch this is AWESOME! Brent Spiner has always been one of my favorite actors. And who knew that he was also an amazing singer? I just watched the first episode of his webshow. Fan-f**king-tastic. I can’t wait to see where he goes with this.
I’m gonna be throwing his link all over the internet. These sorts of webshows need to be watched. So much more entertaining than our modern day mainstream media.
Thank you Brent! And thank you Mike for alerting me to the existence of this show!
So glad you got this interview. I hadn’t heard of his new series and I just watched all 10 of the current episodes. They’re freaking hilarious, especially episode 2-2. I almost died laughing. If you have 10 minutes, just go watch that one. Seriously, you won’t regret it.
Holy Crap Brent Spiner!!! Never knew he was influenced by so many comedians.
Watched first season of Fresh Hell. How can you watch the intro and not think “Mr. Bean”?
Going to watch 2nd season later on. Great stuff!
Btw. I think Picard is boring. No chance against Kirk. (I’m talking roles, not actors)
That’s pretty awesome. Data was my favorite character from Next Gen hands down. I haven’t much of Spiner’s other work, but I’ll definitely check out his web series. I also had no idea he was a musician. Sounds like hes got a lot of talent outside of just acting.
I drink both coke and pepsi.. Speaking of that, I want to get a copy of Pepsi Invaders / Coke Wins for Atari..
Anyway, as for this interview, I just want to say that Brent Spiner could not have been a nicer more personable guy. He talked to me for a good 10-15 minutes before this about his CD “Ol’ Yellow Eyes Is Back”, which I had him autograph. He’s naturally funny, and it was an honor to talk to him.
@thetempleknight … dumbass he’s not a ” charlie sheen ” type he’s just living through the same hell because they both commited the ” incident ” and the reason why he seems so confused and his choice of word is so vague, it’s all related..
they’re speaking in metaphor about how they lost control over their lives and they must be fkn pissed everytime someone just thinks they’re fucked up
Gee wiz! Somehow I have a strong desire to watch something with hell now.. Just like in ’86, couldn’t stop drinking Pepsi for weeks after seeing some Stallone flick.
Excellent interview Mike. I would have been star-struck. I’m going to check out fresh hell right now! I always love seeing actors, that are generally famous for a singular role, get out of their element.
I’m starting to get a feeling “the incident’ is something inspired by what happened on stage with Michael Richards. I bet he’s still having difficulty with the outcome from that. As far as Fresh Hell – there’s a YouTube channel with the episodes and I’ve enjoyed the ones I’ve seen so far and had no hesitation hitting subscribe
@stinger2578 I’m starting to get the same idea. It had to have been based off of something like. The show has a Curb your Enthusiasm kind of feel to it. It started off slow but it really grew on me!
Cool interview Mike, I don’t think I’ve ever seen you look so serious; the video image of you two looking at each other looks like you both decided to do data at the same time hehe.
Can’t hate on the brentspiner.com owner, I wish I had been smart enough to buy big-business urls back in ’95.
Man who would have thought that Data, the blank emotionless character on star trek, actually had the greatest and most entertaining personality that rivals Patrick Stewart’s! Why didn’t he get a different role, or was no one else good enough to make a boring character like data, actually entertaining. Minus the odd numbered movies, his scenes are funny, but the plot is so forced and boring.
Fun interview! He’s even more eccentric and odd that Data himself! But funny. I’ll have to check out this show. I never knew about the Laurel and Hardy stuff, either. I’m surprised they didn’t do a Holodeck episode around that. Interesting.
I got to say. Its just awesome you got the honor of being able to interview probably one of the best Star Trek characters in the franchise. Truly awesome and great job Mike.

He seems like a pretty decent guy, I’m off to check out.. what was it called again?
Oh yeah.. FRESH HELL
May 6, 2012 at 11:20 pm
Mike, how did you get this interview? Data was my favorite character next to Picard. Great stuff.
May 6, 2012 at 11:35 pm
You lucky son of a…! Good interview!
May 6, 2012 at 11:53 pm
That was pretty sweet. He seems like a real down to earth guy; although I never knew he was a musician. Might have to check that album out.

Why does Mike come off like more of a star than Brent?
May 7, 2012 at 1:54 am
FUCKING A, man!!! BRENT SPINER!
Epic win, Mike. Although, Spiner comes off as a Charlie Sheen type. Was Spiner Charlie Sheen before Charlie Sheen was Charlie Sheen? lol
May 7, 2012 at 2:39 am
”You should check out our web site Cinemassacr”
”No i dont give a shit” LOL

May 7, 2012 at 8:26 am
Mike, you did an awesome job with this interview. The Data-centric episodes were always my favorite.
May 7, 2012 at 8:40 am

I just realised something…. Mike’s laugh reminds me of Stan Laurel’s laugh! That’s why it’s so hilarious!
May 7, 2012 at 10:57 am
Very cool Mike! I’m checkin’ out Fresh Hell now!

Mike you rock. I wish you had been moderating the TNG panel instead of those idiots that didn’t know the first thing about TNG!
May 7, 2012 at 8:19 pm
