Hey I am surprised you did not notice/mention Claudia Christian, she was on Babylon 5 but more so the Hot stripper who’s body was possessed by a alien, she fucks some guy to death lol! Pretty sure James mentioned it in a review of the Hidden? This flick was a old guilty pleasure of mine, I thought for sure the main actor was related to Christopher reeve!

Horn sounds like Dr. Claw from Inspector Gadget.

Mike, you must review “Gymkata” for your next video review. For someone who admires bad cinema, I am guessing you have seen this masterpiece.

Hehe, that Rogor guy is the dude who plays the Cardassian, Gul Dukat, from DS9. Nice review as always, Mike. :)

    Hey Mike,

I have been watching cinemassacre stuff for a long time, but I just made an account right now so I could comment on this review.

I think you are doing a great job with these; they are entertaining, informative, and insightful. I like the game reviews, too. Thanks for making something I look forward to every week.

Mokusei beat me to my other point; jul Dukat! Nice.

    April 30, 2012 at 1:40 am

I honestly vaguely remember this movie. I think i saw it on Sci Fi back before they called it “SyFy” or maybe its just something we had around the house. Either way, now that its been brought to my attention, it makes me wanna watch it….again.

    April 30, 2012 at 7:35 am

@tisuko that is because it is Dr. Claw. He also did voices for other creatures in the film. You can find this on netflix also where I watched it a few months ago. Entertaining for a night when there is nothing else to do.

Any chance that this was the inspiration for “Power punch II” on the NES? I think so!!!! it all makes sense now.

Funny movie and good review, thanks Mike :) I agree, rubber suits look way better than 3D computer generated bodies. Look at the first Aliens… just great! You really feel the creature is there and interacting with the actors when it is a rubber suit, but when it is 3d generated, it doesn’t look real, it looks out of place because the lighting is different…

Some crazy funny surreal movies you might want to check out to review:

    Master of the Flying Guillotine
    Ninja Hunter
    Digital Man
    TC 2000

Thanks for the monday laughs :)

Hey Mike, just wanted to let you know Paul Satterfield was also in Creepshow 2, in “The Raft”.

I saw Arena last year. I thought it was pretty entertaining, for a piece of a shit. Good creature effects.

  • Strazdas

    April 30, 2012 at 11:18 am

They still use costumes. You jsut have to look at low budget movies and tv series to see them. Its not like the big AAA movies are worth much anyway nowadays.

    April 30, 2012 at 6:54 pm

I remember watching this a lot as a kid; pretty funny how I don’t think I could stand it today.

Mike – you need to find a copy of Robot Jox and review that!

  • FrancoMcNeil

    April 30, 2012 at 8:45 pm

Also in this movie are Marc Alaimo (Gul Dukat from DS9) and Frank Welker (Megatron and dozens upon dozens of other voices).

that dude u call the evil guy rogor or watever. Hes the boxing promotor that fixes all the fights. Hes another character from star trek deep space nine. His name is marc alaimo. He plays the cardassian gul dukat on deep space nine. I cant believe u didnt mention that

  • misterprickly

    April 30, 2012 at 9:52 pm

This reminds me of the horrible Punch-out sequel “Intergalactic Power Punch” (AKA Power Punch 2).

The guy who played the 4 armed Mikey was the guy who played Del Murdoch in the episode of WKRP; where Johnny broadcasts live from Del’s stereo and sound.

AND the girlfriend was that chick from Babylon 5.

  • bleedingarse

    April 30, 2012 at 10:22 pm

I remember watching this when I was little and I loved it. I watched it just a couple of years ago and being older I still appreciate the work that they put in on all the costumes considering the low budget I’m sure they had. I swear though I was the only person that saw this no one ever believed me that they made a movie like this

  • kizmet

    May 1, 2012 at 12:01 am

Hey Mike, didn’t that Paul guy play on Creepshow 2? I think he was the guy that got eaten by the blob in the lake.

No matter how stressful my Mondays are, i can always count on a few entertaining minutes from Mike.

  • May 1, 2012 at 12:50 am

GJ Mike. You are doing great. Hope James has you keep a permanent role on here like this. Also, I just bought the Cinemassacre app for my android for a buck 99 and I think its great. Who made that app? I was thinking it was probably you. Just wondering. Thanks Mike!

I remember seeing a parody of this movie on an episode of Megas XLR way back when cartoon network was good.

  • May 1, 2012 at 4:56 am

Hmmmm… I also see Claudia Christian, from Babylon 5.

    May 1, 2012 at 6:33 am

We have a german DVD release including the original englisch version.

    later !

  • May 1, 2012 at 7:52 am

So, what released first? Arena of Power Punch II?

  • Czab

    May 1, 2012 at 2:08 pm

The “evil guy who looks kinda like dracula” is Marc Alaimo who played Gul Dukhat in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. It also looks like there’s Claudia Christian, she played Susan Ivanova in Babylon 5 (I’m a big fan of B5).

  • docgramps

    May 1, 2012 at 2:45 pm

Is that Claudia Christian from Babylon 5 at 5:12?!

  • thundergod74

    May 1, 2012 at 2:54 pm

Super cheesy film with crazy aliens. Grab the cheese flavored popcorn, turn off your brain and enjoy! LOL!

  • Cornjob

    May 1, 2012 at 11:41 pm

You’re using the Robot Jox soundtrack here. I hope Mike gets around to doing a review of that one. James already did Robot Wars. Anyway the main actor in the movie was also in Creepshow 2 and the main villain had a small role in Total Recall.

  • jibblesmgee

    May 2, 2012 at 6:55 pm

@ianpitkin Wow… you must have a really small penis.

  • dinnerbandit

    May 3, 2012 at 6:18 pm

Ok, so this is going to sound lame and all, but I remember Paul Saterfield from “General Hospital” in the early 90′s. However, I looked him up and apparently he has been in “Creep Show 2″ and ” Bruce Almighty” for films. He’s also been in several T.V shows including “The Pretender”, “90210″, “7th Heaven”, and many other television series that never made it big.

  • handsome pete

    May 3, 2012 at 11:06 pm

That grasshopper alien looks like the creature from Naked Lunch who brutally raped that guy.

  • Schloss Ritter

    May 4, 2012 at 4:25 pm

Parts of this look familiar but much of it doesn’t. I wonder if I saw part of this a long time ago.

    May 15, 2012 at 12:05 am

The bionic bull guy kinda reminds me of that boss you fight on the submarine in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3 on NES

  • Ben_from_G-town

    May 18, 2012 at 3:48 am

Did you just say ALIENS IN RUBBER SUITS?! Aliens exist, and they’re in this movie?! Dressing up as other aliens?! AAAAHHHH!

    May 19, 2012 at 10:59 am

I loved this movie as a kid and I still do today too. I made a homemade dvd with this, A.P.E.X. and Elminators. Hey Mike! why haven’t you had any more reviews since this! I was looking forward to Mondays!

  • manny_el_portu

    May 20, 2012 at 5:50 pm

    Really cool review.
By the way, I think I just noticed another recognizable character (someone who is also no stranger to aliens. I think the blond shown in the scene where Steve Armstrong is picked up by Horn is Claudia Christian, also known as Susan Ivanova in Babylon 5.
    Once again, great review.

  • May 29, 2012 at 6:46 pm

I bet Asylum studios could make a sequel to this

  • choukogara

    June 28, 2012 at 12:49 am

I am sure someone already mentioned this. But I see another famous actor from the Star Trek universe. Rogor is Gul Dukat from Star Trek Deep Space Nine .. a high ranking cardasian. His real name is Marc Alaimo

They recently released “Aerna” on a 4 Movie Pack on DVD.

  • nammm3

    April 24, 2014 at 3:16 am

I agree, very splendid looking animatronics! This was actually a fairly cool concept too, too bad they didn’t have the proper screen writing nor the unpredictable writing to make it a quality movie [budgets can be very over-rated]

  • June 15, 2014 at 6:06 am

Warp drive is actual science (as is most of Star Trek) unlike this movie or pretty much anything in Star Wars. lol.

  • July 5, 2015 at 6:41 pm

Warp Drive is *loosely based* on some elements of actual science (e.g. matter and antimatter are real, and annihilate each other, but whether this could potentially be leveraged for propulsion is totally unknown, nor do we know how fast it would actually enable us to travel- “Subspace” is what makes faster-than-light travel possible in the Star Trek world, and that is completely made up)
