Donald Duck Games

Mike / March 22nd, 2012

In this video, Mike reviews some retro games that feature Donald Duck as the main star. There were of course other games out there where Donald makes appearances such as Kingdom Hearts, World of Illusion and so on. But this video is mainly about the major titles where Donald was the central character in the spotlight.

Granted, Quackshot is one of those games which made Genesis worth having it among a few true gems (being Castle of Illusion also one of them).

But the best Donald i’ve seen it in Kingdom Hearts. Even Goofy was a solid character without losing his Disney Charm (KH I; KHII turned everything way too unnecessarily complicated and i would only recommend it to the true Squaresoft fans which can withstand all the emo nonsense Organization XIII puts on the plot).

But hey, Adventures in the Magic Kingdom was a great Capcom game; even it’s the first one i remember beating up and feelin’ proud about it!

    • tyds83g

      March 22, 2012 at 10:56 pm

@HorazStCruz I have to say that if anything KHII is less complicated! Play Birth by Sleep and Chain of Memories, Organization XIII is emo because their very complex Nobodies. They are creature who are just a shell of a body with no heart or soul. Of course they’re going to be “emo.” I’m not hating at all and mean nothing of it, just a friendly reconsider. :)

      • HorazStCruz

        March 23, 2012 at 12:07 am

@tyds83g I’m just making a point about a good game that it’s not worth the hating as everybody -that OF COURSE haven’t played whole- thinks.
I understood the plot and i like KH II a lot. But facts are facts and KH II resembles more a FF than a Disney-franchise universe like the one i think was, and for some people that just an “emo threat”.
        Just an opinion.

Oh, and for the ones that haven’t played KH and have a fondness for Disney, I’d strongly recommend it, just as i’d recommend anybody to sit and watch The Sleeping Beauty or 101 Dalmatians whih are my “Traditional Animation” favourites.

    • shadow51090

      March 23, 2012 at 12:04 am

@HorazStCruz I’m still very lost at how the KH series got complicated with 2. I played the games as they were released and completely understand the story.
Is it because people just refuse to play the side games? The addition of Nobodies makes perfect sense. Heartless are the corrupted souls of beings who lost their hearts, Nobodies are the bodies that remained. More powerful people can retain a human form.

You kind of forgot “Magical Quest 3 – Starring Mickey & Donald”, which came out for the SNES originally, but never saw a release outside of Japan until the GBA-versions of all three Magical Quest-games came along.

    • geminias

      March 22, 2012 at 10:06 pm

@Mike/Cinemassacre Yeah, I see, that and the Japan-only release during the SNES-era was why I said “kinda”. Still, Magical Quest 3 was a bit unique in that it gave both characters different abilities with each costume, making them both feel separate, and also the goal of the game was to rescue Donald’s nephews. But again, I can see why you left it out. I just really like the Magical Quest games :D

    • MegaManX

@JakeLaFortune Exactly! I don’t care what the Kingdom Hearts fans say, Kingdom Hearts SUCKS!!!

      • STNOlawlin

        March 22, 2012 at 11:41 pm

@MegaManX  @JakeLaFortune  Yeah! If I don’t like a game it SUCKS RIGHT? I mean no one can have other opinions then you, the all knowing deity that controls everything and  even though millions of people have enjoyed it and love it. By no means try to be mature open minded person since you have so much power in this world that we live in that anything you don’t like sucks.

      • Isaiah Fuller

        March 22, 2012 at 11:42 pm

@STNOlawlin  @MegaManX  @JakeLaFortune Well said, I am not a super fan of KH, but I hate haters. Honestly, the series has had more bad or mediocre games than good.

      • shadow51090

        March 22, 2012 at 11:58 pm

@Isaiah Fuller  @STNOlawlin  @MegaManX  @JakeLaFortune Bad and mediocre is a matter of perspective. The only truly bad KH game was the Re:Coded port for the DS and that was bad because it was port of Cell phone game in Japan. The games play well and the story at least in my opinion is very interesting. Linking the various Disney worlds together through the main plot line.

Are they for everybody no, is it right to just dismiss them entirely? No.
Should it be called a Donald Duck game? No, Donald appears in a supporting role (literally) in that series.

  • March 22, 2012 at 11:14 pm

Personally I love Scrooge McDuck, he’s just fuckin’ awesome (And a good Scottish character). Donald Duck is also brilliant. Quackshot is one of the games of my childhood, and I love it. Was so hard back in the day, though.Thank you, Carl Barks. :D

  • Zephyr

    March 22, 2012 at 11:27 pm

World of Illusion for Sega Genesis is by far the best Donald duck game ever. It had Mickey Mouse in it as well but there was coop and the graphics for the time and level design are all superior. Disappointed it wasn’t even mentioned.

    • Isaiah Fuller

      March 22, 2012 at 11:36 pm

@Zephyr Just a question of pure curiosity, how many Donald Duck games have you played?

      • Zephyr

        March 22, 2012 at 11:43 pm

@Isaiah Fuller Enough to know that I put in many many more hours into that game over any other one. I will say I have never played Kingdom Hearts but that’s mainly due to the fact of my age at the time and I don;t consider that a “Donald Duck” game as it’s more a “Disney” game.

      • Isaiah Fuller

        March 22, 2012 at 11:47 pm

@Zephyr Oh, KH is definitely a Disney game, with a little Final Fantasy thrown in.
I’m too young for most of the games ever showcased on this site, they aren’t of my time. The name struck me because I do have a Sega Master System and Castle of Illusion, but that game doesn’t have Donald Duck.

  • JordanWalters

Very nice retrospective on Donald. He’s like the Luigi of the Disney Characters. Mickey gets everything and Donald gets nothing.
I’ll definitely have to check out some of these titles.

    • TorpeErik

      March 23, 2012 at 4:19 am

@shadow51090 Ha Ha, in Norway it has always been the other way around! The comic magazine in Norway is called   “Donald Duck and friends”, and mickey always have the “second story” in the issue, usually a detective story with a very pompous and serious Mickey and Goofy as a dumbass Dr. Watson character.

You seem of be quite the Disney comics fanatic, Mike, but why haven’t you yet given a nod to Don Rosa’s works? His writing certainly isn’t as witty as Barks, but he easily makes up for it with his hyper-detailed drawings & usage of historical facts.

I sure hope you aren’t one of those Barks fanboys who think Rosa gets ALL of his good ideas from Barks, and draws without any heart… -_-

My first Donald Duck game was for commodore 64. I played it at a friend’s, and we were too young to figure out what to do. I even forgot the name, but donald was supposed to build a playground and had to buy all this stuff.

    March 23, 2012 at 2:06 am

Maui Mallard is just Donald Duck blatantly ripping off Daffy’s ‘costumed alter egos’ bit.
Also Pete has been an enemy for Donald in the past, not a lot I’ll admit, but he’s just awesome, if it was up to me he’d be just going around being an enemy for everyone, even Scrooge McDuck and Darkwing Duck and Chip n’ Dale.  They did make him an enemy for Goofy in that show Goof Troop, no one questioned that.

  • Johnthegamer

    March 23, 2012 at 2:08 am

It’s kind of funny I never played or even remember any of those Donald Duck games. I really liked the look of the SNES game, really nice graphics and fluent  animation, it’s a shame it isn’t a better game.

  • RaoniFerreiraGandra

    March 23, 2012 at 2:14 am

You surely should have tried Magical Quest 3, Mike. It’s a SNES game, It’s a Mickey Series, but in the third game of the Franchise, Donald is the Star. He gets the best weapons, have the best dialogues, he even is the one who provokes the adventure, going after his nephews, kidnappped by Big Bad Pete. And Mickey, besides being the main role of the game, offers to give Donald some help. Donald kickes so much asses that Mickey abdicates his main role to be a simple second Player character with the most annoying weapons of the game.I love this duck.

    • RaoniFerreiraGandra

      God damn my “Kidnappped” typo.

  • AdamBettcher

    March 23, 2012 at 2:14 am

    • RaoniFerreiraGandra

      March 23, 2012 at 2:15 am

@AdamBettcher I think he said “A good game that features Donald Duck in the main role and isn’t a JRPG”.

  • AdamBettcher

    March 23, 2012 at 2:17 am

But if your looking for a really good game featuring Donald Duck id say go for quack shot. Is what he said.  I hope he means as the main character because Kingdom Hearts is a great series.

Genesis wins again! Yeah, that game is awesome. That N64 belongs to a time when every game had to be in 3D to make people buy it, but the game designers didn’t quite know what to do with it yet.

  • TehKnight

    March 23, 2012 at 4:17 am

Funny how Mike talked about Donald not wearing pants in the Going Quackers segment since Going Quackers is banned in Jerusalem because Donald Duck wasn’t wearing pants.

    • tFighterPilot

      March 23, 2012 at 4:19 am

@TehKnight How can a game be banned in one city? Also, I’m Israeli and never heard of anything related to Donald Duck being banned anywhere around here.

    • Deadagent

      March 23, 2012 at 7:56 am

@TehKnight This is a urban legend based around the stupid “controversy” of christian politicans trying to ban donald duck in finland because he dosent wear any pants. It never actually happended actually, probably because donald duck is the most subcribed magazine in finland.

  • StrayZer0

    March 23, 2012 at 4:55 am

World of illusion wasn’t a good game? I call epic bullshit on that one. It’s 1 of the best games on megadrive, also the maui mallard game was on megadrive and it was better on megadrive but imo all games released for both were better on megadrive, snes always seemed to have trouble with the scrolling and even in games like mickey mania and earthworm jim and batman forever it had stupid 5 second loading screens between each level….why? its a fucking cartridge. megadrive never had any problems with speed or graphic loading. so yea, bottom line, quackshot was great but world of illusion was much more fun all around and megadrive is way underapreciated by snes fanboys.

  • smmakira

I had one for the Commodore 64 called Donald Duck’s Playground. I don’t know how well it would hold up today but I liked it back then.

  • Taku777

    March 23, 2012 at 7:31 am

ok, maybe a few people recognize, but the N64 version is a DELIBERATE COPY of crash bandicoot 3 O_o’
    the warp room system
    the mini-boss run
the boss system (who is located in the center of the warp zone)
    the time-run quest
also, some boss fight remind me some boss of CB3 O_O’

and this is funny because in the biginning, the first crash bandicoot it’s a copy of super mario land, so now we have a copy of another cosy xDD
but wait, the CB serie is WAY batter than this donal duck version (i mean, the naughtydog serie…)

    • WillieLogan

      March 23, 2012 at 1:45 pm

@Taku777 I know right? It was really distracting because all I saw was CB3.

    Nice review!

Goin’ Quackers looks a lot like Crash Bandicoot. It’s the same style of 3D platform game, and the 4 levels where you collect toys to unlock time trial levels and pieces of bosses reminds me of the crystals, relics and gems you had to collect in CB.

@fowlerpl Going Quackers was made before crash.

      • JonathanPresley

@GiordanoTweeter  @fowlerpl 100% incorrect. Crash Bandicoot came out on PS1 in 1996 and already had 2 sequels before Goin’ Quackers came out in 2000.

No mention of Donald Duck’s Playground on the C64. I’m dissapoint.. Though it’s basically just repetition to get more money to buy toys for the kids I still enjoyed it alot.

    March 23, 2012 at 2:20 pm

Not trying to be hard here. Don’t mind me, just trying to throw some feedback at you. You kind of lost some of my respect with some of the reviews you have done these last few weeks. I am not going into details, I bet you know what I am talking about.

But hey, it is great to see you are actually making some really good commentary. Informative and nicely done reviews are better than any kind of attempt at humour. Good work.

    • GrahamX227

      March 23, 2012 at 3:13 pm

       @SiestaCephei

Unspecific feedback is a worthless kind of feedback. Don’t just leave a loose string, fucking elaborate. I don’t like Mike very much, but I’m very interested to see what regular viewers think.

      • SiestaCephei

        March 24, 2012 at 4:06 am

@GrahamX227 Fine. If you feel like you need to know. Remember Mike’s commentary of Elmo’s movie and some of the Motherfucking Monday movie reviews? The kind of way this material is made is way too immature to be even be taken funny or as comedy.

Mike tends to relate his jokes with something sexual most of the time. It is clearly not funny or interesting to hear a joke of genitals over and over again, or pointing out anything remotely sexual. He is creating a very ugly persona right here.

I have to admit that some of his reviews are interesting and he points out stuff that even James wouldn’t even consider, so I have to give him credit for that. Out of that, Mike doesn’t convince me or inspire me to keep watching. Hope that changes in the future.

    • statueofmike

      March 23, 2012 at 3:28 pm

@SiestaCephei I’m sure Mike’s psychic connection lets him know what you are talking about. Good call not going into details ;)

I never knew that N64 game existed, I likely would have played it back then.  Also the time trial ‘vanity’ rewards in the form of clothes are quite worthless.

Would like to see more of that comic book collection and commentary on it, like the DVD collection videos.  Also enjoyed the glare from trying to film the Game Gear’s screen, things were bad back then!

Very cool stuff. We’re about the same age Mike, and I love Donald. One of my first Genesis games was Quackshot and it was a really fun game. The control was a little wonky at times during a few jumps but it had great verity of play and some really cool levels. I always thought the music in the maharrajas maze sounded like Tools slower tribal music. Not that’s a weird comparison! Thanks Mike, and pay no attention to the trolls. Everything from our childhoods is relavent and fun to look back on.

Not sure if anyone else noticed this and mike didn’t comment on it but maui mallard obviously uses the earthworm jim engine and seems to have been drawn/animated by the same team, that’s pretty awesome if you ask me.

  • March 23, 2012 at 6:38 pm

Nice simple review. But I wonder a little as to why you did this? Was it because people were missing the Nerd, or was it because it wasn’t exactly AVGN material (something to get absolutely raged up about).

Anyways, you mentioned that you felt that the final boss in the Genesis game didn’t seem to fit with Donald but more like a final boss for Mickey. Trying to remember back, yeah. At least in the older cartoons or the adventurous/detective stories Pete was like Mickey’s Nemesis. In the Donold Duck cartoons he was a test of Donalds patience (whether it was a rivalling neighbour, sly sales man, tough customer, or a superior). And then in Goof Troops he was just an annoyed neighbour. :p

  • March 24, 2012 at 1:15 am

Not to imply that Quackshot is bad, but it gets absurdly frustrating at some points, whereas World of Illusion is more balanced and just more pleasant to play all the way through. So I’d call it the better of the two games.

  • DanHouser

    March 24, 2012 at 1:15 am

Great multi-review, MFMike. :) You’re the methadone to my heroin-like addiction to the AVGN. If we gotta wait for the movie, I’m down with having you throw out some reviews! How about reviews of things like Road Runner, Porky Pig and Taz-Mania?! :)

Best to all of you, you rule.

  • SeanFrye

    March 24, 2012 at 3:27 am

I’m glad you mentioned World of Illusion here.  Sadly, it’s the only game you mentioned in this video that I played.  I haven’t played too many Disney games, but when it came to the ones I played back in the 16 bit era, I played Mickey Mouse games.

Castle of Illusion for Genesis, Mickey Mania for SNES.  And I also played World of Illusion for Genesis as well.  I really liked that game because you can choose to be Mickey Mouse or Donald Duck and doing so, some of the levels are different.

@the12221 Yeah Donald Duck is still being made in Finland too. Both a weekly magazine and monthly pocket books. Not to mention all the Donald/Scrooge albums constantly being released.
There’s also a ton of extra content you get if you order the magazine.

I actually ordered it for myself as my 20th birthday present. I used to read it when I was a kid and it’s really just as fun to read when you are 26 as it is when you are 6. Well atleast the Don Rosa ones. :)

Nice review ! The funny thing about Going Qu@ackers is that the game was released on several game systems from different generations (PS1, N64, Dreamcast, PS2, GameCube). I really enjoyed playing this game, but I came to the end really quickly.

  • TwistedSpeech

    March 25, 2012 at 11:59 am

You know Mike, you should do some like alternate universe AVGN stuff. Make some videos where you’re the AVGN in your own world. You’re just like the one here but you’re even “Nerdier” and you wear a black shirt instead of white. I think a few episodes like those while the movie is being made would be great. You could call them the “Alternate AVGN” or the “New AVGN” and review a lot of video games that James hasn’t covered. Maybe do an angry rant towards Sega, even though you still love Sega you hate some of the horrible games just as James hates the more horrible NES games he still loves the NES. Just an idea I thought I’d throw out there. When the AVGN movie is done and James returns to do his normal episode run you two could meet and have a battle over who is the better nerd and which system was truly the better one. NES or Sega! : )

I always wanted to read the Donald Duck comics. How far back do they go? Does anyone know how to get them online?

    • Devil_Rising

      March 26, 2012 at 6:44 am

@Kain They go back, as far as I know, to the 40s or so. Possibly earlier, but at least the 40s, I’m pretty certain. As for how to get them……well, yeah, there are ways. But I don’t think this is the place to get into that……

  • EdgarsSondors

    March 25, 2012 at 1:57 pm

I didn’t want to comment nothing until i actually got a sense of what your videos are like Mike. I don’t find that you’re a piece of shit or whatever. I actually enjoy your videos, because they do work on my nostalgia glands quite a bit. Especially when i saw your Ninja III review and realized i had seen fucking Ninja II sometime in during my deranged childhood. But here’s my constructive criticism and suggestions. I think that your videos lack ”core” as in, i just find them too long and ”all over the place”. It’s not that i can’t hold my attention for long periods of time, believe me, i can, but the longer you go, the less entertaining you get. Moving on. I never found James to be a fantastic actor, but he at least had a character to hold on to. You on the other hand don’t and ”Motherfucker” gag just doesn’t have any character at all, hence the speech and on screen appearances i find to be uninspired and, well, pointless. Keep up the good work, but i doubt that i’ll be visiting cinemassacre a lot anytime soon. Your content is just not enough as ibet i can satisfy my nostalgia needs elsewhere. Ty.

    • Jollyroger2022

      March 25, 2012 at 2:32 pm

@EdgarsSondors You need to relax, man. Mike is only helping James out while he works on the movie. Regardless, Mike puts a lot of work into trying to keep us happy while The Nerd is away (yes, I capitalize his title like I would “The Holy Damn Savior”) and in my humble opinion, he is doing a great job. He has me coming back to check out the site and if you don’t like it, you sure have been sticking around for some time as Mike has been doing this for a while now. Certainly you don’t expect there to be another Nerd, do you? Motherfucker Mike is a fine character that never asked for your “criticism”. Keep doing your thing, you Motherfucker.

    • Swow_tittybang

      March 25, 2012 at 3:46 pm

@EdgarsSondors I’d like to see you review something on a website with 1000′s of people watching and judging. I think Mike does a good job at keeping his videos interesting and I highly doubt you’d be able to do the same.

He may be a Motherfucker but YOU SIR are a shitty fucker!
      Good day.

    • AMillah

      March 25, 2012 at 7:58 pm

@EdgarsSondors Way to be an asshole man. That’s less constructive criticism than just being an obnoxious dick. Mike is only doing these videos to put content on the site while James is busy and unable to make videos. He knows he’s not the filmmaker here, and he would never claim to be the star. Hence why he refused to be in the movie. He’s doing this as a really good friend to James, and as someone who wants to entertain fine massacre fans for the time being.
I’d say he’s doing a fantastic job “holding down the fort,” and James is lucky to have such a good friend.

    • john_p

      March 25, 2012 at 9:29 pm

@EdgarsSondors Actually, I thought this was pretty reasonable as far as criticism goes. It was based in opinion, as these things are, so it may not necessarily be taken to heart, and it wasn’t blatantly boorish. Mike doesn’t need people coming to his defense on this; I’m sure his feelings are invariable when it comes to criticism. Regardless, I had the impression that Mike dropped the “Motherfucker” pseudonym/character. Now he’s just Mike, I imagine.

      • EdgarsSondors

        March 26, 2012 at 3:25 am

@john_p This is the kind of response i was looking for really.. I think i stated right at the beginning how i do’t think Mike is a piece of shit and that i didn’t want to just drop in and flame him for no reason, so being a dick to Mike Matei was none of my intention. I just wanted to post my honest opinion (yes my opinion) on his work and dont tell me that he is not looking for criticism and he never asked for it or bullshit like that, because that’s just wrong. It’s the sole reason of comment sections below any video posted on the web – for opinions, thoughts, good words, bad words, whatever.. There’s just saying ”you suck” without a reason and there’s saying ”i don’t like this and that” and here’s why. So there. Yes, i believe he dropped the ”Motherfucker”, but then there is no character left to use your acting talent on is there? So guys, chill out for godsakes, i’m not saying i’m right and you should all listen to ME. I adressed that comment to mike in order to perhaps help him out somehow, give a tiny idea on what to do to improve his videos. And i like ductales for the NES, the only one i ever played.

@EdgarsSondors No offense, but I seriously doubt that Mike or anyone else really needs your “help” on their own creative content. Try making your own, and let’s see how people respond to it. That’s the only way to go.

@EdgarsSondors “I just want you to know that I don’t think you’re a piece of shit.” LOL!!!!!!!  Ooooooh man. Well, I guess at least you got that out right away, so now he knows that AT LEAST you don’t think he’s a piece of shit. LOLI’ve seriously never even heard anyone say that before. Classic. But on a more serious note, as others have said, you need to calm down a bit. That’s the nicest way to put it. If you don’t care for Mike’s style of videos, fine. But one thing I don’t get, though I am in no way involved with the site and am just a fan, is why people bother making criticisms like this. Me personally, if I had a site where I put content out, you know, requests or friendly suggestions is one thing. But someone basically ripping my work a new one, while kindly letting me know that “at least I’m not a piece of shit”, is pretty wild, and I would probably just delete that shit. This site isn’t just for AVGN. Mike has worked with James for a long time, and he’s been a part of the “Cinemassacre Family”, helping run the site, make videos, do the artwork, etc., for a long time. Personally, I’m glad Mike started making videos, as I appreciate his insight into many things that he and I (and James) have in common. I happen to be the same age as Mike and James, growing up as a kid in the 80s and a teen in the 90s, and as it turns out, we had/have a lot of the same interests. They had a lot of the same experiences and likes growing up as I did, and so I love their videos because, for one thing, it helps me go back and remember those things from someone else’s perspective. For another, I just think they’re entertaining. But one thing I think you really need to keep in mind when it comes to Mike’s videos, is that he’s not James, and these aren’t James’ videos. These aren’t AVGN episodes, nor are they trying to be. I don’t think Mike is neccissarily trying to be funny or even going out of his way to entertain people. I think his videos are what they are, which is him sharing stuff and giving his own thoughts and info about them. That’s it. Taken for what they are, and NOT for what they aren’t, they’re great little videos, and I for one am very thankful that Mike is keeping the site going with new content while James is making the film. I know it probably gets old to hear on here, but as many many people keep saying, myself included, if you don’t like it, don’t watch. But giving someone like Mike, who doesn’t have to be doing this, the kind of comment that “I don’t really like your videos, so I won’t be coming to this site much, and I have other sites to go to”…..it’s just pointless and waste of yours and Mike’s time. If you don’t care for his videos, fine. Don’t come to the site. It’s not like it’s going to miss you, it’s still going to get millions of hits a day. But beyond that, what purpose could saying some of the things you had to say possibly really serve in the end? Do you expect Mike to slap his forehead and say “OF COURSE! I’m so sorry dude, I’ll start being more entertaining for you!”? Sorry to sound harsh, and to ramble on at length….but I just never quite understand the motivation behind comments like this. They just seem like an enormous waste of time. It’s one thing to make positive suggestions to people who create something for your benefit or entertainment. But it’s another entirely to bother coming to a site, watching their content, and then basically posting “That sucks, it needs to be etc. etc. etc.”.  If it were me, I’d tell ya not to let the door hit you in the ass on the way out. But Mike is probably a bigger man than I am. And like you said…..at LEAST he isn’t a piece of shit. ;-P

I doubt Mike cares about your input. Cinemassacre has ALOT of fans. Mike is being himself, not acting. Its not the same thing as the AVGN, which is a character. Hes just doing what he wants and puting it there for people to see.

World of illusion and Mickey’s? Magical adventure had Donald as a sidekick i know that he is not the main character but they could had been in this video. Good review as always, Quackshot is a badass game i remember playing it a lot in my childhood.

Wait… did you just spend nearly a minute and a half talking about a completely irrelevant game…?

  • March 26, 2012 at 3:53 am

Wait, you fight “Humphrey Bear”?? He’s a treasured Australian TV icon from the 80s! When did he turn bad?

    • MortalKombat2007

      March 29, 2012 at 10:14 am

@crankycarrot Humphrey was never a bad Bear. but he often did antagonize Donald for something he wants. It makes sense Humphrey was a boss though his appearance in the game was not faithful to what he depicted as in shorts.

Informative and honest as usual, Mike :) I think I might go out and get myself Quackshot (can’t remember the title now) for the Mega Drive (I live in the UK) :) Fun trivia: “Going Quackers” was renamed “Quack Attack!” here in Europe, and was also released on the PS1 and PS2 :) Thanks for the video and keep up the good work, sir!

Here’s some actual constructive criticism, Mike: go through every single script and every time you find the word “thing,” replace it with a word that is more specific to what you’re describing. I know it’s elementary, but it’s something I’ve noticed you do a lot.

Hey Mike, good video. I’m a huge Donald/Scrooge fan myself. I’d recommend checking out Goin’ Quackers on PS2 as well, the levels are completely different than the N64 version. You can find it super cheap used now days, I think I payed $3 for it at Gamestop. Anyway, good video, Quackshot is awesome and I’ll have to track down some of the others you mentioned that I haven’t played, like the Illusion game with Donald. Thanks!

I owned Quackshot, and it was excellent, but World of Illusion was better.  The co-op gameplay was a blast when you had a friend over!  You actually had to work together to beat the game.

I usually associate the Bugle Boys with DuckTales because that is the show I remember them from. Pete on the other hand appeared in several Donald Duck short, most notably as Donald’s military sergeant and his neighbor, though it is also true Pete was also often an antagonist in Mickey shorts. Anyways, a small bit of advice…stay away from PK: Out of the Shadows. As a Donald Duck fan, you would be disappointed to what the voice caster done to Donald just like I was.

    • Joddo

      March 30, 2012 at 12:37 pm

@MortalKombat2007 However, Pete pretty much never appears in Donald Duck comics, unless the said comic includes Mickey as well. Beagle boys, on the other hand, are the de facto villain in all Donal Duck comics.

Well, the maui mallard game for the SNES is not the best….actually the best is the SEGA version called Maui Mallard in: Cold Shadow, released for PC too. I am a little upset that you didn’t had the time or interest to show the game.

This game reminds me of (crash bandicoot time warp) because of the level platform. I hate when gaming corporations rip off of other gaming corporations, it reminds me of Justin Bieber ripping off Micle Jakson.

I swear if Micle Jakson was alive he would throw his ass out of a ten storey window and sue him for plagiarism and win all at the same time.

And the funny thing is theGaming corporations that made
(crash bandicoot time warp) might of made (goin quackers) I may be wrong. lol

    Thank you for reading
