Hahahaha! I loved when Mike was talking about that stick thing and how you might hit someone if you forgot to take it off. I almost died I was laughing so hard. You guys are hilarious I must say.
Turns out later in life I found out they were huge pieces of shit. Meanwhile the rockerpad has still never been surpassed and systems like the 360 wish they had it.
I’ve seen something like this before – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jDEebdmfqpA – It didn’t have a screen but the closeup seemed to be the same deal, a blurry plastic screen between you and the game screen itself. The box on the CyberFX 3D warned about permanent eye damage so I wouldn’t recommend using this for too long, not that you’d want to with the headaches anyway.
no way, i laugh my ass off… it’s hilarious seeing Mike going nuts as shit. You should make more videos like this one, u’re 2 funny reviewing crap like that one, lol. i want 2 c the avgn movie, my best wishes from Argentina.
Looks like you were missing the cable for the SNES, seen a video where someone did have a cable for it. That being said also the SNES one was idiotic to connect and the screen still shit.
Funny video. Brings back memories of trying to plug weird video game consolses and stuff. It was always like that and luckly you at least have a great collection of consoles to try that thing on, back in the days we were forced to just give up most times.
Hey kids, do you hate your friends to no end? Is sharing a screen with them the most miserable experience of your life? would you rather stab yourself in the eyes and collapse your nasal bridge than sit there knowing you are looking at the exact same thing as the piece of shit motherfucker you invited into your own home? Now you can have the best of both worlds with the Virtual Reality Stuntmaster!
The Virtual Reality Stuntmaster offers the greatest technology two gamegears merged together has to offer, and it’s easy to install! Simply put the two video lines into the ports in the back of your console you completely forgot about, clip the support beam to your shirt, solve the mystery of the AC adapter that is 1.5x thicker than the other AC adapters in order to contain it’s awesomeness, and there you go you elitist assholes.
The Virtual Reality Stuntmaster includes it’s own line of multiplayer games, including “Face Fracture” Where a doctor tries to figure out what the hell happened to your nose, and “You can’t see me”, where you tap your ass around the streets of your home town with a stick.
Nice break from all your other stuff james – Really enjoyed this one. I generally like when you and Mike do videos like this – always turn out funny! Thanks!
i had one of them when i was a kid it was cool for the time i used it for the super Nintendo i just used it some times when we would go places that had no tv’s or we just had one and no one wanted to watch me play games it was fun back then
First off, I love that James is rockin a CONAN shirt, TEAMCOCO FTW! And B: I remember that thing from ads in gaming mags from the early 90′s. I had always thought it was two small screens. I had the first gen Sega Master System with the 3-D goggles with Missle Defense 3D and Space Harrier 3D. If you stood far enough back, the 3D effect would stretch across the room. That was the closet I ever saw to VR in a console gaming.
Man, when i was a kid, i remember seeing this kind of bullshit gadget at the store, and it sounded really promising, i wanted it so bad. Now, that i see this, i’m glad i stood away from that Pizzashit
I love how the biggest problem James has with that thing is not that it’s a fucking piece of shit, but the fact that it doesn’t connect to the super nintendo.
I’d like to see something on the “virtual reality” arcade games of the mid-90s, i thought they looked pretty cheesy at the time, but it seems they were rather popular for a while.
Oh man, like 20 years ago a rich friend of mine had it but he couldn’t figure out how to use it, and I’ve always wondered about it till this moment. Another case solved for me! Thanks so much!
Wow another virtual reality tempt gone wrong. I can’t believe after all that trouble it didn’t work. This thing makes Virtual Boy look great which sucks ass too. Is it any wonder why we never got Virtual Reality done right. Because most people that try it half ass the whole concept. I mean gaming keeps getting better yet that’s still stuck in the stone age come on.
I saw Gamester81′s review of this product and Mike…. You’re wearing the stick incorrectly. It is supposed to hook onto the visor and the other end rests itself on your upper chest.
This is definitely one of the best videos of all time. Somehow, your videos of Mike and you sitting on a couch just talking about movies, T.V. shows, or games are the best. It’s like Wayne World’s, but better.
Looks like you were missing the other squid cable for the SNES. Not that it matters really, its still a piece of shit that doesn’t fucking work. And yes James, the name of those types of cables is actually “Squid cables.”
The octopus cable as you call it, is missing for the SNES in your box. Mine came with two different cables one for Mega Drive and the other for the SNES
I had one of those when I was a kid. I played Beavis and Butt-head on it for Sega. I’m pretty sure there were two different cable, one for Sega, and one for Super Nintendo. The stick on the side was “supposed” to move the screen side to side as you moved your head side to side (it didn’t work.) Anyway, a couple months after playing Beavis and Butt-head I tried to use it again, but I used the wrong AC adapter and fried it.
Heh, nice quick review. Will you do a proper AVGN once you are done with the movie (after looking up all the details on the internet), or is it too crappy to repeat?
@Edward256 i would guess that they covered many of the topics they wanted to bring up, so it would most likely be a polished version of the same thing. so i dont think they would do one.
@SorabOliaji I’m sure they’ll get there, but not during the shoot. But what’s wrong with a big pack of stickers? Or even paper tape? That they might melt? Maybe…
@Edward256 Have you ever tried to make stickers on your AC adapters? they simply wont hold as the glue does not like the heat. they just fall off. you need special heat resistant stickers.
@Strazdas My father has. Most of the stickers have been small circles and some have been white squares. The white square ones have been mainly used to put dates on left over food.
Then again, I’m not sure how often those adapters have been used. I think they were stuck on in… 80′s, 90′s, and still holding (those that I still have).
Strazdas
February 15, 2012 at 11:26 am
The actual reason for this was so that kids wouldnt take over the TV, as this meant you need no TV to play.
@Erwinator Yes, yes it can. OLED HD screen (2d and 3d), 5.1 sound and compatible with bluetooth equipment, but it also works with the ps3 system. It takes up (almost) all of your eyesight, so it’s like you’re ‘in’ the game/movie (imagine that with 3d..wow).
U know there’s a prototype of these for the PS3 with 2 mini OLED screens, 3D, surround sound and stuff. The headset looks exactly like those goggles that they use in Ghost in the Shell when the cyberized people connect their brains to the internet. XD

Yeah I watched this on the DVD and I thought this was hilarious. The most of the video (spiller) you just sit there and try to figure it out how to get it to work. haha.
It was sort of covered by another post, but the stick is meant to rotate a little potentiometer on the side that sends left and right controller signals, that’s why you need to plug it in to the controller port.

February 15, 2012 at 12:41 am

@komothoes you should explain how you got it working on a SNES.
I suppose kids aren’t as susceptible to eye strain as us old folks, hence you enjoyed it.
February 15, 2012 at 5:48 am
@DanielV@komothoes James is missing a cable.
February 15, 2012 at 5:50 am

lol yup just change out the cable part for sega there’s one for snes ver
February 15, 2012 at 6:55 am
i think it was mike who put it best from the beginning – this thing sucks.
February 15, 2012 at 6:57 am
The first cable Mike showed that said it wasn’t SNES was an s-video cable, there were SNESs with s-video out.
February 15, 2012 at 7:31 am
Nice one. Hilarious when you and Mike are cracking up about the paraplegic neck-support brace pole.
February 15, 2012 at 7:40 am
Oh god, this shit was so bad it even got a serious review
February 15, 2012 at 8:07 am
I think one of the connectors is the old AV connector that’s for the Genesis Model 1, so yeah I think it wouldn’t work on the Genesis 2.
February 15, 2012 at 8:07 am

Why was that not an AAVGN episode? C’mooon!
February 15, 2012 at 8:34 am
@LazarheaD I second that, no reason this couldn’t have been AVGN. In fact it had several set ups for The Nerd to rage all over this.
February 15, 2012 at 8:45 am
@LazarheaD It was one of the bonus features on AVGN DVD vol 4
February 15, 2012 at 8:23 am
Just another piece of nostalgic shit they tried to sell to rich kids who thought they are “cool” because they have something like this.
February 15, 2012 at 9:04 am
