Even though I know a lot already, it’s still nice to read these things. Hopefully your movie is coming along fine. I wonder when the next update will be. =)

I wish interviewers would ask something we dont know about James. the questions are usually the same. Like does he plan on doing a tour in Europe? Im an American but all his fans outside the US would love to know that.

    • February 11, 2012 at 6:28 pm

@Doogrisa I’m a fan outside the US, and I have never even thought about James coming to the UK.

The best classic game based on a movie would have to be the PAL version of Ghostbusters II on NES in my opinion. This is also the version that was ported to the GameBoy. I played it all the time as a kid and loved it! Years later I stumbled across it on NES and picked it up excited to play a fun game from my childhood, only to pop it in and discover that the NTSC “American” version of Ghostbusters II for the NES was a completely different and utter garbage. Here’s a link to some gameplay footage on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t7rIzJXSk7g

Haha, i thought he was gonna ask for a Wii Remake of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. The best movie adapted video game i can think of is Aladdin on the Sega Genesis. Faithful to the original while adding the video game touch, with great music and sound for a Sega Gensis game, awesome gameplay and graphics, probably one of my favorite games of all time.

Am I the only one who liked the Warlock SNES game?

  • Andrew84

    February 12, 2012 at 7:42 am

well when it comes to games with good gameplay based on movies , the first game that comes to my mind is Golden eye on the Nintendo 64, that i think innovated the FPS games on the console and least not forget the versus 4 player mode , which me and my friends played alot back in the days!

5200 controller doesn’t count? (hm probably because it would be somewhat decent if it worked)

    LJNs greatest shits…

      February 12, 2012 at 6:21 pm

@c64kicksass I got 4 5200 controllers when they were new. 3 of them still work today. I never had a problem with them. They aren’t as good as SNES controllers of course, but compared to the 2600 joystick and other controllers at the time, they were fantastic.

The Lion King for the Genesis was a pretty faithful adaptation in my eyes.

  • DonSkiver

    February 12, 2012 at 5:53 pm

Aladdin on SNES was a great little platformer. It wasn’t very long, nor very difficult, but the password system was short and easy, the controls fluid and responsive, the graphics were very good on the snes, the sound and music was great and quite memorable (I can still remember some of the tunes), and it was a pretty faithful adaptation of the Disney animated feature film.

I highly recommend it, or any of the other Capcom-Disney titles that were on NES and the SNES. I don’t think there are ANY bad ones. Hell, the HVGN did a video on them, so you KNOW they gotta be good!

  • NathanielLenox

    February 14, 2012 at 5:04 am

I’m sure he would love LJN Greatest Hits. Gives him room to make AVGN: The Shitting. Then, just because he can, he could make a third movie about another terrible game, and call in AVGN: The Movie II

So, is the actually good recent Ghostbusters game not considered to be a movie video game since it doesn’t precisely have a movie it’s emulating, or does it count because it’s based on a movie franchise?

  • March 12, 2012 at 11:29 pm

Hey everyone I just wanted to be an Ass Hole and plug the podcast I am currently on. We cover all things nerdy movies, vidoe games, comic books. You can find it at http://www.zacandchuck.com or on itunes. Sorry for the plug guys. Thanks!
