I was spock for halloween back in 1988. Luckly i grew into my ears. Not like anyone cares. I just felt like sharing.
January 27, 2012 at 1:01 am
@Doogrisa Spock is a badass. And I personally am glad you grew into your ears.

January 27, 2012 at 1:56 am
1. Great vid as always
2. I still fail to see how hard it was to figure out how to place the nitro and mandragora……..
January 27, 2012 at 1:57 am
This was seriously awesome! I just finished watching all the Treks – Started with TNG, then went through DS9, Voyager, Enterprise and ended with TOS and I didn’t know at least HALF of these questions. If I thought you two were cool and made rad videos before, you just elevated to “Hero” status. Can’t wait to see more!!
January 27, 2012 at 2:02 am
Spock was the fricking Science Officer!!!
January 27, 2012 at 2:12 am
It’s so funny that I am watching this and hearing the battle music, while at the same on WGN they’re showing the Futurama episode right now where Dr. Zoidberg goes back to his home planet to mate, lol! Great video, guys. : )
Tranya. “I hope you relish it, as much as I”.
That is Ron Howards’ little brother. He was also “Leon” in the Andy Griffith show.
January 27, 2012 at 2:15 am
Spock rank is full Commander. He is the science officer and first officer
January 27, 2012 at 2:21 am
@MichaelSchatz My bad.
January 27, 2012 at 2:29 am
Suck that you haven’t seen DS9 and Voyager, they are legit.I have a feeling you’d like Enterprise as well
January 27, 2012 at 2:33 am
Pure anti-proton of course!!!!
Priceless face on Mike.
January 27, 2012 at 2:35 am
Wow, who clicked the link and saw that Castlevania 64 response? That guy is insufferable. No one actually cares about the details, or how to really do it.
January 27, 2012 at 2:45 am
What is Spocks postion….slightly bent over with his back to Kirk.
January 27, 2012 at 2:50 am

January 27, 2012 at 3:03 am
I loved the Star Trek trivia, guys! Thanks! I hope I’m able to get the series someday. They don’t come on basic cable anymore, to my knowledge.
January 27, 2012 at 3:06 am
@BenjaminOstermeier You can get them on DVD on Amazon or watch them through direct streaming on Netflix.
January 27, 2012 at 3:09 am
Wow watched before it hit facebook. You gotta do more of these brought back memories. I was shocked at how much I still knew and I haven’t watched TOS in years. Glad you guys are still posting with the movie and all
Quit fucking around and make the AVGN movie already.
Lol – Do Kid Icarus please
To answer the question, ” what is Spock’s position on the bridge, he sits at the science station and is classified as science officer along with being first officer.
He did say he was making the movie a side project, he’s working on it :/
@Anthony J. Nussbaum – This video was shot many months ago.
@ Angry Video Game Nerd- good luck on your movie :)))
HOW DARE YOU! Give us free clips that keep us entertained and returning for more and not meet MY expectation for delivery!? Yah, fuck you Anthony
thanks for keeping the videos coming motherfucker mike !
James, you gotta do the Geek Media Expo in Nashville this October. This decides it.
If only you could do trivia on Doctor Who. That gave one, two, or three questions: How come you never mention Doctor Who? Have you seen it? If so, what are your thoughts on it? Just asking.
Oh fuck, did I forget to put a smiley at the end of my comment? FUCK!
@anthony this was shot months ago, watch his video logs.
Nice job guys!
January 27, 2012 at 3:19 am
Even though I’ve seen every episode of the original series, I missed most of the questions that you guys asked. I think I’m more familiar with Next Generation since that was the series I grew up with.
January 27, 2012 at 3:38 am
I went to play Star Trek DAC or something earlier in the day for X-Box 360 then I decided to play for the first time in a couple years Star Trek Legacy and as im playing the first mission this was posted on Facebook. Feels like a Star Trek day its gonna be today.
January 27, 2012 at 3:46 am
Pussies. I can handle Stardate questions. I spend a lot of time destroying Star Trek. I am an avid Anti-Trekkie.
January 27, 2012 at 3:47 am
Pure anti protein? The Berserker takes a stand against the low carb diet craze.
January 27, 2012 at 3:51 am
Do the damn Doomsday Machine questions!!!
January 27, 2012 at 4:32 am
I always remember the “I’d trade it all for a hand phaser or a good solid club” scene because they watch it in Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey
January 27, 2012 at 5:48 am
Yes, I know, James and Motherfucker Mike are on opposite sides of the country right now. I’ve been a Cinemassacre fan since 2007 and I’m seeing the movie when it goes on tour. I was being facetious, you oversensitive dildo dick fucks!
My favorite sci fi show. Thank you James. Can’t wait to watch this.
This trivia video was great. Loved it. Way better than the last Board James one, which I felt was kinda lame-ish.
I got the Altair 6 question. Immediately, too; that was almost frightening.
But you know, the thing is that a lot of these trivia answers are actually fun to know: kroyka, an-woon, tranya… But not L-374 III!
January 27, 2012 at 6:03 am
Am I the only one who has never heard of a Star Trek fan being referred to as a “trekker”? That is seriously the first time I’ve heard that.
January 27, 2012 at 6:12 am
@ZachThompson I’ve heard of the term before, but I don’t know anyone that really uses it.
January 27, 2012 at 7:49 am
@ZachThompson As far as I know, “trekkie” came first because Gene Roddenberry claims he came up with it, but apparently that became associated with being a geeky loser so some butthurt fans came up with the word “trekker” because it sounds more “serious.”
January 27, 2012 at 11:13 am
@ZachThompson “Trekkers” are supposedly normal people who like Star Trek, whereas “trekkies” are the weird overblown obsessed people. This distinction dates at least back to the 70′s. Although it’s not something that’s universally acknowledged.
Really though, the best explainaition I ever heard of the difference is:
A “trekker” is a Star Trek fan. A trekkie is someone who insists on being called a trekker.
January 27, 2012 at 12:14 pm
@ZachThompson I know in the ’80s with TNG they said “Trekker” was the PC version as “Trekkie” was an insult. They also claimed Trekker was for TNG fans and Trekkie for original series fans.
I never was a Trekkie (is it spelled that way? XD) and this video wasn´t helping in becoming one.
great vid though, Mofo Mike and Captain James T. Nerd XD
January 27, 2012 at 7:21 am
Ok, nerd alert time,
Spock is the Science Officer of the Star Ship Enterprise, he is generally accepted as the second in command, but he shares the position with both the Chief Medical officer (“Bones” McCoy) and the Chief Engineer, (“Scotty”).
This is further complicated by the fact that prior too the standing rank organization of the Enterprise, in the pilot, there was an actual second in command in the rank structure, and Spock still held the science officer position.
Now compare this to a TNG, where we have a definitive rank structure, with Riker serving as a Second in Command, and serving no other role. Data serves as Science Officer, Geordi LaForge (for most of the series) serves as Chief Engineer, and Beverly Crusher serves as the Chief Medical officer.
With all this in place in TNG, Riker serves in the other positions extremely rarely, helping in engineering only in extreme emergencies.
All in all I think the rank structure on the original enterprise is unofficial, enforced at the whim of Kirk as much of the enterprise’s operational day to day stuff is not to standard it seems. He was not really, by the book.
January 27, 2012 at 12:12 pm
@Mark Taylor Spock didn’t share the second in command position. He was the First Officer/Executive Officer, when Kirk wasn’t on duty, Spock was in charge. The only time anyone else was in charge was when both Kirk and Spock were off duty or off the ship. There is a line of command succession down the ranks. After Spock was Scotty then Sulu. McCoy was never in charge, he was just always on the bridge giving everyone advice but he never held command.
January 27, 2012 at 7:50 am
This makes me want to watch more Star Trek, although TNG will always be better than the original series (with the movies it’s the opposite, though)
January 27, 2012 at 7:56 am
Anti-proton and it’s absolutely pure !
January 27, 2012 at 3:21 pm
@wermin Wonder how much a kilo of pure uncut anti protons go for on the street?
January 27, 2012 at 7:58 am
The first Trek movie was not really made to compete with Star Wars, they had been trying to start a new TV series. But as one thing changed, many things changed and they ended up with a movie instead of a new show.
January 27, 2012 at 8:24 am
You must have recorded lots of vids since James is in California right now. I hope you have enough to last until James returns.
January 27, 2012 at 8:27 am
Large erection for star trek
January 27, 2012 at 8:28 am
Keep on Trekkin’, guys!
January 27, 2012 at 8:42 am
wtf is trekker? i never ever heard such term.
January 27, 2012 at 8:45 am
LOL, trekken in Dutch means ‘Pulling’ or ‘Jerking Off.’
January 27, 2012 at 8:52 am
“Vulcans have pointed ears to capture soundwaves in the thin atmosphere of the planet Vulcan”
Wut!? I have never heard that. Show me the episode in which they establish that.
January 27, 2012 at 11:04 am
@Czab It’s one of those things that was in early supplemental material that actual canon has gone on to ignore.
January 27, 2012 at 9:15 am
I can barely remember some of these episodes. I grew up on the next generation series. I remember they used to air an episode every night and for awhile two episodes a night 9/10p. I can’t wait to hear some TNG trivia
January 27, 2012 at 9:50 am
Mike, as a fellow Trekkie, I find myself drawn to this video like no other. I damn-near answered all of those questions… I know TOS the least of all. Any chance we might see some questions relating to any of the spinoffs, whether it be The Animated Series or the greatest Trek ever Deep Space Nine? Anyway, make more Star Trek stuff! Awesome job as usual.
I love AVGN and Motherfucker Mike. But Star Trek blows!
January 27, 2012 at 9:59 am
January 27, 2012 at 12:31 pm
@MrArkadin Do you mean Yeoman? :). That’s what they call most of the female crewmembers in TOS. I guess it’s a rank.
January 27, 2012 at 12:57 pm
@Czab@MrArkadin Yeoman isnt a rank, per se, more like a job title, like Science officer, engineer, or mechanic. its the Term the current navy uses for their “paperwork” people and secretaries
January 27, 2012 at 10:24 am
I love this Trek Trivia. When Mike said, “Aye, aye, aye” for III, James should have said, “One aye is sufficient acknowledgement, Ensign”.
January 27, 2012 at 10:27 am
@Anothony you’re a douche. That is all.
January 27, 2012 at 11:35 am
Nice video guys, I’m glad you stuck to a bit more casual trivia or I would of been pretty lost.
I love watching the re-mastered version of the series. They play it on Space during the week. Doomsday Day Machine is one of the most noticeable improvements.
January 28, 2012 at 5:19 am
@B1ueyedfiend Having watched many episodes now on Netflix, I have to say, I’m really not a fan of the “improvements”, like the CG and such. It just kind of looks out of place with everything else, and having grown up with the original series, I honestly kind of like the old effects. Just like old Doctor Who. They have their own charm, and unless someone is a “graphics whore”, so to speak, they work perfectly fine.
January 27, 2012 at 12:46 pm
Coincidentally, this video comes out just days after the nerd log video from their “secret location”;)
January 27, 2012 at 1:41 pm
I hope he eventually gets to DS9, happens to be my favorite trek series by far.
January 27, 2012 at 2:39 pm
Star Trek.. zZzZzZzZzZzZzzzzzzzzz
January 27, 2012 at 7:50 pm
@Deadlyrazorwings I agree
January 27, 2012 at 3:08 pm
We’ll give a shout out to Ray Glasser who has been a fan of “Star Trek” for a long time.
it’s about fuckin time guys…
January 27, 2012 at 3:10 pm
I was a baby when Stark Trek was on TV. But I do love the 2009 movie. I hope there will soon a sequel..

Cradle 2 The Grave
January 27, 2012 at 3:18 pm
For me there is only the original series, Star Trek Voyager, Star Trek The Motion Picture, Star Trek II The Wrath Of Kahn, Star Trek First Contact, and Star Trek Insurrection, well the comment that Data makes to worf ” and have you noticed how your boobs have started to firm u…..” put that film at the bottom of the list but it’s still there. I mean come on he is an android not an idiot.
January 27, 2012 at 3:35 pm
Finnegan is older than Kirk in reality. He was his upperclassman. Finnegan is not really there on that planet obviously, although that manifestation of him was younger than Kirk…
January 27, 2012 at 4:30 pm
James, you mumble too much. I keep playing back your questions and I cannot understand you half the time, even though my ear is up against the speaker and the volume on it *and* my hearing aid is turned up. I’m just saying, dude. might wanna work on that a bit.
January 27, 2012 at 4:36 pm
damn, James. you sure do mumble a lot. I couldn’t understand half of your questions.
January 28, 2012 at 5:17 am
@CiaraRavenBlaze Damn RavenBlaze, you sure do complain a lot. I couldn’t understand half of your bitching.
January 27, 2012 at 4:48 pm
Spock’s actual rank in the bulk of TOS is Commander (except for the first Pilot). Being second in command (McCoy and Scotty are both Lieutenant Commanders during TOS) he is the First Officer to the Captain.
January 27, 2012 at 5:08 pm
I always have a little bit of a gripe when talking about Star Wars being the reason Star Trek: The Motion Picture was made. It was part of the reason, but not all of it. It was to do with a change in the rating system. In fact they were already planning another series called Star Trek: Phase II however….
Wow! That was geeky…
January 27, 2012 at 5:23 pm
@RowanJColeman True. The “Phase II” series was cancelled in favor of a motion picture due to the success of the first Star Wars movie. Star Trek: The Motion Picture is a remake of a script originally proposed as the Pilot episode for Phase II.
…also very geeky.
January 28, 2012 at 8:34 am
@Big McLargehuge Did you know there’s an independent company who have made their own version of Star Trek: Phase II. It’s on youtube check it out.
January 28, 2012 at 5:16 am
@RowanJColeman True. People also seem to forget the Animated Series from the 70s, which, seeing as how it had all of the original main cast doing voices (Except for no Chekov), and seeing as how, for a cartoon, it still retained the same basic quality and feel of the show, I always just looked at it as essentially the 4th season of TOS. Great stuff. I remember seeing re-runs of it as a very little kid.
January 27, 2012 at 5:38 pm
Spock was First Officer and Science Officer. But that question about his station on the bridge was silly, as was the question about why his ears are pointed. Mike’s answer is the correct answer. It’s because he was an alien.
January 27, 2012 at 5:52 pm
never watch Star trek before …. this video is going to make me wanting to watch it now :O
January 27, 2012 at 6:11 pm
These are brilliant
January 27, 2012 at 7:04 pm
About time this site did some Trek!!! 2 things I love: Cinemassacre, and Star Trek. Today is a good day. You should replace the old turtle tuesday with Trek tuesday!
January 27, 2012 at 7:31 pm
This was a great watch. And damn Mike! The Vulcan questions were nothing for you huh?!? I was more on par with James and knew simple facts. Remembering actual language from the show is fkng impressive!
January 27, 2012 at 7:49 pm
I thought you was in california? lool
January 27, 2012 at 8:35 pm

January 28, 2012 at 2:32 pm
