Karloff’s shit eating grin is enough to destroy all participants in this tournament. I like how he was credited as “KARLOFF” in some movies since that’s all that was needed to sell the movie.
“Raspberry jam” haha
I wish i could’ve filled out a Titans of Terror bracket like March Madness. This is great fun, James.
Also, I just want to mention that I recently watched “Dragon in My Dreams”… and I want to recommend that anyone who hasn’t seen it yet should go watch it right now.
Loving this series, it’s like a bonus extra of Monster Madness. And after seeing this, it’s a small wonder that Jack Nicholson became the actor he is today; here he is as a 26-year-old virtual unknown, sharing screen time with established actors Boris Karloff, Peter Lorre AND Vincent Price?
Corman could crank them out, but The Raven just looks awesome in everything, set design, photography…and of course you got three classic horror legends AND Jack Nicholson.
But that fight was a fix. He was really working for boris though that fight., and karloff double crosses him.. Then lorre acts like a coward and tricks boris to change him back into a raven. But that is to sneak back to get vincent price loose to fight boris since he’s the only one stong enough to fight him in a magician;’s duel.
So really lorre defeated boris mentially. If your going to go by the rules of vs in film, then lorre outsmarted him when double crossed. Karloff was duped by the fat man.
But I see why you let karloff win. Because of the outrage of letting lorre win.
I always liked Peter Lorre. I didn’t even know who he *really* was and all the stuff he’s been in until late in my adolescence. I guess I don’t mind that Boris Karloff won this battle. It seemed kinda like a token battle anyway, and to have an absolute ICON of classic horror, and cinema in general, lose his battle would be pretty disappointing.
I think we all know that the best battle is going to be between Lon Chaney Jr. vs Bela Lugosi. Saved the best for last.
Wow, people complain about modern movie adaptations not being faithful to the book… they must have never watched The Raven! That has even less in common with its source than Frankenstein.

A perennial supporting actor doesn’t pass the first round – as expected.

Anyone else notice Vincent Price flipping the bird when he says rasberry jam lol.

Another Peter Lorre find: The Brave Little Toaster! Remember the hanging lamp at the parts shop? Amazing.
