While I agree with you with the fact that Halloween 3 isn’t as bad as people make it out to be, I wouldn’t rate it higher than H20. H20 had it’s flaws and was far from perfect but it still ranks higher than Halloween 3 for me.

Here’s How I would rank them:

    Halloween: 10
    Halloween II: 9
    Halloween III: 7.5
    Halloween IV: 7
    Halloween V: 4
Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers: 2
    Halloween H20: 8.5
    Halloween Resurrection: 2.5
    Rob Zombie’s Halloween: 9
    Rob Zombie’s Halloween II: 7

I must admit, I don’t think I’ve ever disagreed with more than with this series of reviews.

Because there is no way, no WAY, in heaven or hell, that Halloween 6, in any version is worse than the putric anus that is H5, or the scatologically unecessary H:R,. both of which are almost impossible to watch after the first time (and even during that first time).

And you’re both understimating H6 and H20. Particularly H20, which is better than H2 and slighltly better than H4.

    Anyway, here’s my ranking:

    Halloween: 10
    Halloween II: 6
    Halloween III: 7
    Halloween 4::7
    Halloween 5: 2
    Halloween 6 – Theatrical Cut: 4.5
    Halloween 6 – Producer’s Cut: 8
    Halloween H20: 8
    Halloween Resurrection: 1
    Rob Zombie’s Halloween: 5
Rob Zombie’s Halloween 2: 3 (4 if it has the Theatrical Ending)

    So, there you have it.

I agree with Batman Beyond. There’s no fucking way Halloween 6 is worse than 5 or Resurrection. NO. FUCKING. WAY. Hell it’s even better than both Zombieweens! And a 9 for Rob Zombie’s Halloween? Are you high?

    I’ll do my ratings too I guess….

Halloween – 7/10 (terribly overrated, but still good, just not GREAT)
    Halloween II – 8/10
    Halloween III – 7/10
Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers – 7.5/10
    Halloween 5 – 4.5/10
    Halloween 6 (theatrical, haven’t seen producers) – 8/10
    Halloween H20 – 7.5/10
    Halloween Resurrection – 3/10
    Rob Zombie’s Halloween – 4.5/10
    Rob Zombie’s Halloween 2 – 5/10

Resurrection higher than The Curse? that’s ridiculous. at least the curse feels like an halloween movie compared to ressurection.

  • Batman Beyond

    October 31, 2011 at 5:48 pm

Agreed with kevenz and BrIan. Resurrection felt like it was a commercilized parody of Halloween, but without the wit or the intelligence to mock the property right.

In short, it sucked major donkey balls. I just can’t fathom how in the world is H:R better than any version of H6…

Halloween H20 (1998) My rating: 9.0 (the the series should have ended)

Halloween: Resurrection (2002) My rating: 3.0 (this movie shouldn’t have been made)

My Ratings, 3 was a piece of shit. I think the halloween series are much better than Nightmare on Elm Street. James should review all the Friday the 13th movies.

    Halloween: 9
    Halloween 2: 8
    Halloween 3: 3
    Halloween 4::9
    Halloween 5: 7
    Halloween 6: 6
    Halloween H20: 8
    Halloween Resurrection: 6
    Rob Zombie’s Halloween: 9
    Rob Zombie’s Halloween 2: 5

  • November 1, 2011 at 12:59 am

    Halloween: 9

    Halloween 2: 8

Halloween 3: 6.5 (I just didn’t like the movie. Even if you called it something else unconnected to “Halloween” I still wouldn’t like it)

    Halloween 4: 7.5

    Halloween 5: 6

    Halloween 6: 4.5

Halloween H20: 8.5 (Not as good as original, but it had it’s merits)

    Halloween Resurrection: 3.5

    RZ Halloween: 7.5

RZ Halloween 2: 7 (Both of the RZ remakes just didn’t work for me. Though I recognize that there are great aspects about the films, and I appreciate what RZ was doing and where he was going with the franchise trying to reinvent it, the “grindhouse” style of the films just didn’t work for me. That’s why they’re ranked as low as they are.)

Being that I’m such a fan of the series I gotta jump in on this one

    Halloween – 10
    Halloween II – 9
    Halloween III – 8
    Halloween 4 – 8
Halloween 5 – 5 (Best thing about it is that Loomis get a lot of screen time)
Halloween 6 – 7 (I don’t know why but this one grew on me)
    Halloween 6 Producer’s Cut – 8
H20 – 3 (Such bullshit they decide to forget the last 3. Steve Minor sucks)
    Halloween Resurrection – 4
    Halloween (2007) – 7
    H2 – 4

  • Bassie02

    November 1, 2011 at 5:25 am

Halloween 2 is almost as good as the first one, imo. So, if H1 is a 10, than is H2 a 9. Really have the feeling that H2 is underrated by most people…

H3 should be (way) lower. H4 should get a 6, cuz its so boring.

The original movie was perfect just the way it was and didn’t need any sequels. However, it is interesting to watch the first two movies back-to-back or the original movie and H20 back-to-back, though I think I prefer pairing the original movie and H20 together. All the other movies in the Halloween franchise are just a waste of time and shouldn’t have been made.

    November 1, 2011 at 6:43 am

wow, many of your guys’ reviews are fucked up, in fact all, but it’s the beauty of opinion lol.

    Here’s mine:

    Halloween: 10
    Halloween 2: 8
    Halloween 3: 7
    Halloween 4: 9
    Halloween 5: 3
    Halloween 6: 6
    Halloween H20: 7
    Halloween Remake: 8
    Halloween 2/ H2: 4

Halloween 5 and 6 are a mess, nuff said
H20 lost it’s soul, the way it was shot, the music, the mask, michael myers, the kills, few stupid characters. Thank god Jamie Lee was in it.
Halloween 4 is fuckin good guys! It’s behind the original, it has everything that H20 fell short on, only downside is the radical change in the plot, HOWEVER, the characters are great, and the plot works, it’s fast paced, Michael Myers is back! Then he went on hiatus lol, this is my Halloween rant from a hardcore fan.

    I’ve only seen these, but…

Halloween: 5.5 (overrated as hell, boring too)
Halloween II: 8/10 (a lot better than the first, gets to the point right away)

    Rob Zombie’s Halloween: 6/10
    Rob Zombie’s Halloween II: 6/10

  • videogamehunter820

    November 1, 2011 at 7:41 am

Again, I like all of these movies (even Resurrection and the second Rob Zombie film in a way). But if I had to give a fair rating then these are mine:
    Halloween: 10
    Halloween 2: 7.5
    Halloween 3: 6
    Halloween 4: 7.5 or 8
    Halloween 5: 5.5
    Halloween 6 (Curse) (Theatrical): 5
    Halloween 6 (Curse) (Producer’s): 4
    Halloween H2O: 7
    Halloween Resurrection: 5
    Halloween (Rob Zombie): 7
    Halloween 2 (Rob Zombie): 5

Like I said, I still enjoy all of the first 6. The original is not a slasher film, so it relies on the atmosphere and suspense. This is why it’s the best (of course). While the sequels did, basically, follow the slasher structure, I still really enjoy them. They definately have big flaws, but I can look past them. I love how it mixed the slasher movie with a Halloween atmosphere. Michael always has a great on-screen presence. All this, for me, is a great deal of fun.

  • November 1, 2011 at 8:24 am

    From a childs perspective

    Halloween: 10
    Halloween 2: 9
    Halloween 3: 7
    Halloween 4: 9
    Halloween 5: 4
    Halloween 6: 6
    Halloween 7: 8.5
    Halloween 8: 1
    Rob Zombie’s Halloween: 8.5
    Rob Zombie’s Halloween 2: 8

With the 3 one i don’t like it that much, but not because Michael isn’t in it, but because the movie itself is a little boring at times.

We watched 1 and 2 some months ago, Reboot a while ago, 3 and 4 within the week. My opinion: 4 was the worst, by far. Aside from Dawson from Dazed and Confused, and gorgeous blond in her bra, this movie showed me nothing I wanted to see. Michael Myers driving and hiding in a police car, Loomis screaming like a little girl, the main character’s “transformation”, the good teen’s surviving a fall like that, Michael Myers just kinda hanging around his neice in the drug store. The deaths or wounds were off camera, the nudity was a fraction of a second, and the language was clean, so I think this movie was seconds away from a PG-13.

Sorry it took so long, but here are my ratings!

    Halloween (1978): 9
    Halloween II (1981): 7.5
Halloween III: Season of the Witch (1982): 7
Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers (1988): 5.5
Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers (1989): 6
Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers (1995) (Producer’s Cut): 7
    Halloween: H20 (1998): 6.5
    Halloween: Resurrection (2002): 5
    Halloween (2007): 7.5
    Halloween II (2009): 6.5

A third Halloween remake will most likely come out next year, and it will be called Halloween 3D because it will be shot in 3D. Rob Zombie won’t be directing this time, but it will be directed by Patrick Lussier who also directed 2011’s Drive Angry 3D. Trivia note: Lussier was an editor on Halloween: H20.

I’m not gonna bother reviewing the remakes, because Rob Zombie isn’t a filmmaker, he’s a musician. All he does is make a film and shit all over it.

    Halloween (1978): 10.0
    Halloween II (1981): 8.5
Halloween III: Season of the Witch (1982): 7.5
Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers (1988): 5.5
Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers (1989): 6.0
Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers (1995) (Producer’s Cut): 5.0
    Halloween: H20 (1998): 6.5
    Halloween: Resurrection (2002): 0.0

I am total agreement with James on all of these. Theatrical or “Producer’s” cut, Curse was one shitty stinker of a film, and made no sense. At least Resurrection (the last VHS tape I ever bought, too) was entertaining enough to warrant a repeated viewing and a laughable ending. All parts 4 to 6 did was make me keep looking at my watch in the theater, wishing I were somewhere else. Rob Zombie’s redux was a welcome take on an already dead franchise.
