I think this phase comes off badly! As much as I’ve been watching AVGN and his other stuff and even know that he has been making movies since he was really young (like 3 or 5), I feel so let down by that term.
I would of accepted. ‘I’ve been making movies from such a young age.’
I’m aware ‘All my life’ is an exaggeration. I understand what he means, I just thought I’ll point that out. I just don’t like having to think about what he mean.

If it’s anything like the Nintendo World Champions video, then consider me a non-contributor. That vid was terrible, not funny, and a waste of time in trying to entertain me. Maybe I’m the only one, but I have plenty of ideas on how to make a good Nerd movie.
And kinda shameful to be asking for money again James. I mean I know you say whatever you can afford. But I’ve bought all your dvd’s and if i see your AVGN movie get good reviews I’ll purchase it too. There’s your funding right there. You have the good camera, you want more money? Get a damn grant. It has never been stated whether the AVGN movie will be free to watch online like all of James other work.
Certainly he can charge for a hard copy DVD, but I hope other legal options are available, especially if this movie is fully fan funded.
This movie is also bitter/sweet. If it becomes popular, we can expect James to spend alot more time making real movies that have nothing to do with AVGN. It’s pretty obvious that cinema (esp horror) is James first love and AVGN and Videogames come a somewhat distant second. Its ironic that the success of this movie could spell the end (or a strong decline) of AVGN.
Please prove me wrong James! Keep in mind your true fans!

stufftough, He only named it as an example of a video he’d done that has more of a storyline to it, rather than it just being a game review. He didn’t name it to say “AVGN world championships is what this movie is going to be like exactly.” or “this is just going to be a longer version of that.”
It’s a bit shallow of you to presume from his statements in this video that this isn’t a major, elaborate, quality project. He’s enlisting a cast, scripting, filming on location, the whole nine yards.
I’m not trying to convince you to donate, only trying to tell you it’s not as simple as looking at the videos he named and deciding thats exactly what the movie is going to be like. He doesn’t have anything that is exactly like what the movie will be, because he hasn’t done something of this scope yet.

You could reach much more donating people with this kind of lottery. Even people who don’t like the nerd, the project, the campaign, etc would spend their money 
here is my idea for a new perk. Just do a lottery…everyone who will donate 1$ at least will get the ultimate chance to win 10,000$ at the end of the fundraising. i don’t know how to choose the winner, but i’m sure you and m-fo mike would handle that

Ok people, this is how indie films are fundraised these days. Darren Aronofsky fundraised for PI this way (He did it by physically sending out letters asking for 5 dollar or 1 dollar donations, because kickstarter and indiegogo didn’t exist then).
Filmmaking is EXPENSIVE if you want to produce anything of quality, and the only way you get the kind of money together is by either idiotically maxing out credit cards or asking for donations or asking for investments. And yeah, you do have to ASK for these things. People aren’t going to just magically know to donate or volunteer to unless you ask and tell them what you need.
The people here who are offended really need to get off of their high horse. You aren’t entitled to anything. If you can’t donate, then don’t donate. If you can, then do whatever little bit you can.
And I don’t know why stufftough is throwing such a fit anyway. If you click the link, you’ll see that James is already well above and beyond the original goal of 75grand (now approaching 100grand).

If Sam Yardbird (or whatever the hell his name is) and stufftough can think of two good reasons why they’re loyal fans of AVGN, I’ll give them every game system I have and the deed to my house, because I can’t think of any reasons. XP
Anyway, I really wish you tons of luck making this movie James. Your videos have not diminished in quality by any means. You still make me laugh and bring a smile to my face, even when I’m in the middle of a day full of shit. ^-^ I donated 30 dollars a few days ago, as you probably noticed.
