Big fan can’t wait to see the flick. These vids have inspired me to right my own film. Loving it with all the nitpicking editing and confilcts of intrest thur my cast having a great time don’t care when of if the movie ever gets made.
i wish i could help you james. i am broke as shit. but i watch ur clips all the time. i can’t wait for the movie. i know it will be amazing. keep up the awesome work.
I think this phase comes off badly! As much as I’ve been watching AVGN and his other stuff and even know that he has been making movies since he was really young (like 3 or 5), I feel so let down by that term.
I would of accepted. ‘I’ve been making movies from such a young age.’
I’m aware ‘All my life’ is an exaggeration. I understand what he means, I just thought I’ll point that out. I just don’t like having to think about what he mean.
Hey dude! Thank u so much for doing this! I wish I could donate but me and my family are kind of having money trouble. SO we want to save as much money as possible. Sorry but if I could donate, I would of donated $45. I wish you luck and have a great time making this movie.
I have a feeling someone is taking a trip to TEXAS to visit that ET LAND FILL!!!! Genius! Better come rolling back in a car made out of those fuckers! OH YES!!!!
stop begging! i dont give a shit about your movie. i only liked it when you were doing game reviews. footage of you signing shit at games conventions makes me want to puke
wow, james’ biggest and best movie yet, i have no doubt about that. this could be the thing that kick starts james’ career in the movie business! i feel that jame would make a good director because he’s passionate about movies and been making films his whole life.
@CW and podling What the hell are your problems? This is a personalized site by James Rolfe, if you don’t want to see what he’s creating and only got negative bashing to do. Then get lost, seriously.
Hey James, I have been a big fan of yours for around 3 years now. Your work has inspired me to to take my love for movies to the next level as I have started a media coarse in college and will be progressing to film-making at university. Good luck with the AVGN movie, I donated $30.
Why is it the ones with the least amount of imagination are the ones who criticize and hate? I guess it’s because he’s living the dream while they flip the burgers.
what it do james, yea i’m gonig to donate soon, i’m broke now – give me bout a week, i went over to that site, wow some one can donate 20,000??? lol *in my dave chapelle voice, i’m rich bitch* – good luck with the fund, i’ll be donateing soon…
~sinsic~
If it’s anything like the Nintendo World Champions video, then consider me a non-contributor. That vid was terrible, not funny, and a waste of time in trying to entertain me. Maybe I’m the only one, but I have plenty of ideas on how to make a good Nerd movie.
And kinda shameful to be asking for money again James. I mean I know you say whatever you can afford. But I’ve bought all your dvd’s and if i see your AVGN movie get good reviews I’ll purchase it too. There’s your funding right there. You have the good camera, you want more money? Get a damn grant. I come here for the entertainment you provide, which I paid for. Which, btw, I won’t be buying the Volume 5 dvd because of the Nintendo World Champions video.
Who is stufftough and why does he feel so entitled? I don’t quite follow, please help me understand.
You appreciate James and his work. You find the site entertaining. You want him to continue to produce great content. Then why would you even consider sticking your nose in things and shaking things up?
You wont buy this DVD for that reason, you won’t donate unless blah blah blah. Get a grip friend, I’d wager nobody cares.
It has never been stated whether the AVGN movie will be free to watch online like all of James other work.
Certainly he can charge for a hard copy DVD, but I hope other legal options are available, especially if this movie is fully fan funded.
This movie is also bitter/sweet. If it becomes popular, we can expect James to spend alot more time making real movies that have nothing to do with AVGN. It’s pretty obvious that cinema (esp horror) is James first love and AVGN and Videogames come a somewhat distant second. Its ironic that the success of this movie could spell the end (or a strong decline) of AVGN.
Please prove me wrong James! Keep in mind your true fans!
Why Don’t you sell That Gigantic library of Videogames/Consoles that was most likely given to you!! Your first 2 years as the nerd were the best and Im going to stick by this statement You might be nowhere If you didn’t have the LJN nes vids. You’ve lost your comedic edge and branched out into boardgames (?) and cheap B-movie films That 100,000 fans have done way, WAY before u. If u are serious about the movie and im sure it will be the biggest letdown sell your collection off and stop asking us for money how dumb u think we are?
Hello Mr.Nerd I’m just wondering how big yourr fanbase is because im all the way out living on that green Island near england (its Ireland) and just started watching your videos and saw news about the AVGN movie.
I’d really love to see that so how do I get see it out here . . .if you have info on its release it would be nice to know if I would get to see it
Hello man, I just want to say that I just donated money but I do not really mind the use you make of it; if you want to make a Nerd movie is up to you. I just want to show my gratitude for all the fun times I had watching your videos, not just the Video Game Nerd but the Monster Madness where you make such a good work, cleaver videos with funny points and always entertaining. Mike Matei is Great too.. you two should make a podcast about movies. I wish you the best and thank you
stufftough, He only named it as an example of a video he’d done that has more of a storyline to it, rather than it just being a game review. He didn’t name it to say “AVGN world championships is what this movie is going to be like exactly.” or “this is just going to be a longer version of that.”
It’s a bit shallow of you to presume from his statements in this video that this isn’t a major, elaborate, quality project. He’s enlisting a cast, scripting, filming on location, the whole nine yards.
I’m not trying to convince you to donate, only trying to tell you it’s not as simple as looking at the videos he named and deciding thats exactly what the movie is going to be like. He doesn’t have anything that is exactly like what the movie will be, because he hasn’t done something of this scope yet.
Hey James,
here is my idea for a new perk. Just do a lottery…everyone who will donate 1$ at least will get the ultimate chance to win 10,000$ at the end of the fundraising. i don’t know how to choose the winner, but i’m sure you and m-fo mike would handle that You could reach much more donating people with this kind of lottery. Even people who don’t like the nerd, the project, the campaign, etc would spend their money
Wow people are so damn harsh on here! I fully support you James and will be donating soon. You are a great entertainer and you share with us the things you love the most. You are a great person in my book, dont listen to this pretentious people who are demanding stuff from you! You do what you do best! YOu have been and are still the main reason I go online. Keep rockin Nerd! Phoenix out!
Ok people, this is how indie films are fundraised these days. Darren Aronofsky fundraised for PI this way (He did it by physically sending out letters asking for 5 dollar or 1 dollar donations, because kickstarter and indiegogo didn’t exist then).
Filmmaking is EXPENSIVE if you want to produce anything of quality, and the only way you get the kind of money together is by either idiotically maxing out credit cards or asking for donations or asking for investments. And yeah, you do have to ASK for these things. People aren’t going to just magically know to donate or volunteer to unless you ask and tell them what you need.
The people here who are offended really need to get off of their high horse. You aren’t entitled to anything. If you can’t donate, then don’t donate. If you can, then do whatever little bit you can.
And I don’t know why stufftough is throwing such a fit anyway. If you click the link, you’ll see that James is already well above and beyond the original goal of 75grand (now approaching 100grand).
Is it a donate to buy the Cinemassacre app? i realy want to donate some money for the movie but im 16 y/o and im not allowed to but those pay pale cards ( in germany) anyways you’re making a great job james i realy love the AVGN keep on working Greetings from germany
If Sam Yardbird (or whatever the hell his name is) and stufftough can think of two good reasons why they’re loyal fans of AVGN, I’ll give them every game system I have and the deed to my house, because I can’t think of any reasons. XP
Anyway, I really wish you tons of luck making this movie James. Your videos have not diminished in quality by any means. You still make me laugh and bring a smile to my face, even when I’m in the middle of a day full of shit. ^-^ I donated 30 dollars a few days ago, as you probably noticed. I plan on donating another 30 or so soon, after I get all my Christmas shopping done. xD Oh, and I will definitely see you at Magfest this January, so beware of my presence. HUHUAHAHAHAHA! >:D xD
God, I’m weird.
Well, I hope your holidays go well, and the movie is successful :3
As soon as I get that credit card of mine (it’s been only, what, 4 years now?) I’ll sure to be donating to this. Even if I won’t even like the movie too much, it’ll be a payment for all the hours of entertainment this site has given me!
I’d love to donate a lot of money to your movie, James. Big fan here, and I’ve seen nearly every video on Cinemassacre.
I’m a bit strapped for cash at the moment (Who am I kidding? I’m always strapped for cash), but I’ll make room for a $30 donation before the timer runs out. Just love your work, and these status updates show your sincerity. It’s just great to see an individual who loves what he does, and it shows in your work.
I hope the AVGN movie lives up to your web series. If it sucks, you can stick your tongue up a diarrhea shitting buffalo’s ass. God bless.
This makes me feel bad cause I don’t have much money at the moment. (Internet and phone alone take up about a hundred bucks, and I’m trying to save for a car) so there goes my check every month… (only fifteen, here!)

I couldn’t not even be payed to EVER watch this movie, let alone donate.
I predict a long boring skit with nothing interesting.
By the way, I loved how you tried to review this garbage to Rocky, as in “The Rocky of video games”
Keep dreaming, James.

Your use of grammar is astounding and if you don’t like James’ content, why do you have an account here?

>:D xD

Well, I hope your holidays go well, and the movie is successful :3

Don’t listen to the jealous idiots in the comments, James. You do amazing work.. AVGN and your other videos as well.
Keep up the good work, and remember that you’ve got a ton more fans than “haters”.

Will this come out on cinemas now that he has this much support and money?
December 6, 2011 at 6:19 pm

God bless.
