Awesome! You guys never calm down making this epic videos=)

  • October 12, 2011 at 2:16 pm

Cool man, there are so many glitches out there (even just on NES alone) you could be doing this quite a while, which is cool ๐Ÿ™‚
Hey…I wonder, just to be TOTALLY sure…have you tried throwing some holy water on that spot? Not sure if it’s a screen-position based glitch or not so you might not have the angle from the right side where you drop in…

I just saw like a bajillion of my favorite things in the same place. Man. Halloween around Cinemassacre ALWAYS kicks freaking ass. Thanks guys.

    October 12, 2011 at 2:34 pm

Nice Mike and James! It looks like you guys were going to burst out laughing @ any time during the WHOLE video. James was holding in the laughter like a Jimmy Fallon sketch on SNL ๐Ÿ˜€

Any outtakes? I love Cinemassacre during the Halloween season. October is truly an epic month. Thanks for all your work, guys!

What’s with the disappearing and appearing beard on James? Do you always shave it for AVGN filming and let it grow otherwise or what?

Motherfucker Mike & James, you’re the best! My favourite part was when Mike said: Do you know anything about Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde? Hahahahahaa. Keep up the good work guys, the fans love it! ๐Ÿ™‚

    October 12, 2011 at 3:06 pm

Hahahaha, sweet Mike. I love the fact that in old nes games, doesn’t matter from how high you fall, characters never take damage from it, or broke theyr legs…. not in the way new games do it now, anyway xD.

    October 12, 2011 at 3:17 pm

Niiice, if I can ever get ahold of Ghost and Goblins I’d definitely keep going and going to see how far that glitched up mess goes. Great video guys.

oh man i was hoping to see some Sweet Home glitches. I know theres one part where you can walk through a wall and end up back towards the start

  • FullerxspectruM

    October 12, 2011 at 3:59 pm

Seeing Sweet Home on here would be amazing, I’ve never played it, but I saw the HVGN review.

Thanx for all your work guys, just because of you I love old games and horror films now. Every Day I’m looking forward to watch your videos in the evening (after playing some nes )

  • October 12, 2011 at 5:34 pm

    @SomeFinnishDude
You pretty much got it right. Lately, I’ve only been shaving the beard for AVGN and Board James. Been too busy to care much. And the videos are barely ever released in the same order that they’re shot, so you might see it going back and forth a lot. It’s like my evil bearded twin, like in the Star Trek episode. What’s the episode title, Mike?

    October 12, 2011 at 5:46 pm

I wouldnยดt be too surprised if that Simon’s Quest glitch was required to finish the game.

  • 1148BucksX2

    October 12, 2011 at 6:12 pm

What are the odds…… Ghosts ‘n Goblins was also my first NES game. As I recall, I could never beat it without cheating.

  • October 12, 2011 at 6:18 pm

You should do an episode of Metroid where you explore the game with the door/wall climb glitch.

  • rhodium1233

    October 12, 2011 at 6:35 pm

FUCK YEAH! I LOVE JIMMINY GLITCHES !

  • superca.in

    October 12, 2011 at 7:39 pm

That one in Castlevania might not be a glitch but a cheat because it actually helps you skip a part of the stage and gets you directly to the cave.

  • October 12, 2011 at 7:56 pm

That’s one manly beard James! It’s like a Homer Simpson beard, doesn’t take more than a few seconds to grow! I have to use fertilizer or something twice a week for a month for mine to even sprout! lol

    I hate it… I want a Billy Mays beard!

  • culwin

    October 12, 2011 at 8:05 pm

You should have just let Ghosts and Goblins keep running all night and see what happens

  • Faroutdude

    October 12, 2011 at 8:11 pm

Haha awesome glitches. Hey James you should play this random fucking game called Fear The Beard on PC. You are some baseball player running around a stadium shooting balls out of your chin and you go around collecting beards that are wearing baseball hats or some shit. Its weird as fuck

  • kimsunil

    October 12, 2011 at 8:25 pm

You guys should do that glitch in Ghosts N’ Goblins and leave it on while you sleep to see if it ever ends.I’d try it, but I can’t even make it to that fucking stage.

  • scronan

    October 12, 2011 at 8:52 pm

Awesome vids guys – thank you for sharing especially during a marathon Monster Madness month! Man James, you look tired…and the beard is pretty cool. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I never played Dr. Dickle and Mr. Hymen so I didn’t know about that glitch…and the Simon’s Quest was one I’d never heard of. But I’d forgotten about the Ghosts n Goblins glitch…good fucking gracious that was a tough game. I managed to beat it twice to get an actual ending as a kid but never felt any sense of accomplishment or victory afterwards…I think I just hated that game even more.

Come to think of it…the first time I played Gargoyle’s Quest for the Gamboy…I just kept killing the little Gargoyle guy (Firebrand) because he reminded me of those mother fucking Red Devils…and don’t even get me started on Ghouls n Ghosts (I gave up on that one)..:O

If you ever wanna use that quote you may james lolololol and please do ghosts n goblins. Ive asked before but god damn I wanna see you scream at that game. I am a huge fan of it myself It gets me so worked up but I actually have the most fun every time.

  • You Can Just Walk Over It

No October is complete without an appearance from MotherFucker Mike. Dare I say I halfway expect to see him in every single video now… there’s always something hilarious incoming when he shows up.

i love when mike and james are in videos together. defintley have good on screen chemistry together. my favorite videos of all are the unscripted ones where they crack each other up….idk y but that always makes me laugh the hardest.

Do you take requests? How about the glitch from NES version of Ikari Warriors? The one where you can leave the guy behind on the screen.

Super Ghoul’s n Ghosts was the first snes game I owned besides Mario World. I don’t kow why everyone thinks it’s so hard. I’ve actually done no hit runs on it before. I really enjoy the glitch videos though. Keep em coming.

Hi, nice video, I always like to watch motherfuckin’ mike’s videos, it makes me remember my days as a game tester. Anyway, here’s a glitch in Castlevania Bloodlines: in the Metal Works chapter, in the area where there are pistons coming from the sides, you can jump on the topmost one and get above the screen. The problem is that you aren’t able to return and you get stuck there.

Dr.Jeckle and Mr.Hyde is to James like the Cross is to Dracula,

  • October 14, 2011 at 6:08 am

That video was waay too short… but on the other hand, it would have been too short even if it was an hour long.

Great great video, it was fun with a little different format, with James being there and you show the glitches to him. Also the banter between you two is really funny and comes off so natural.

Hoping for another one before the month is over!

(A question, was the light actually coming from the tv? You had great lighting, very spooky and it fits the vid.)

This Game Glitches episode was even more amusing than usual. When Mike asked James if he was familiar with the games, it was priceless! ๐Ÿ˜€

Wow – you got pretty far in G&G. I can never beat the boss. same goes for Super G&G. I am at the last stage on the second playthrough and i can’t beat the stage boss (not the end-boss, but the stage boss).

    October 17, 2011 at 5:45 pm

I had a glitch happen on Fiday the 13th once where fire wouldn’t hurt Jason at all. That was terrifiing.
Also, can you do Super mario sunshine sometime in the future? Its a glitch festival!

  • October 28, 2011 at 4:21 pm

I would LOVE to see more horror themed reviews in the future. Now, I don’t know how “modern” a system you’ll play as the AVGN, but there’s a ton of resident evil knock-off type games (and maybe you should review resident evil anyways, its so bad its good). One game I know of for sure is Evil Dead Hail to the King. I think that’s a direct clone of resident evil, but is set in the Evil Dead universe.

Mike are you a play tester for video games?

If you aren’t you probably should be. You appear to be a natural at finding little errors for the creators to fix. And you seem like the type of person who would have fun doing so.

  • dangermike

    November 5, 2011 at 11:30 pm

It’s not exactly a horror game, but one of my favorite glitched-the-fuck-out environments on NES was in Rygar. In the screen transitions of the overhead maps, you can enter them airborne from jumping, then rapidly move back and forth between the screens and slowly make your way onto the normally inaccessible grassy plateaus. Exiting the screen in a normally blocked direction can lead to all kinds of weirdness, similar to the g’n’g glitch in the video or the metroid 1 doorway trick that lets you climb through ceilings.

Ah, nostalgia. Thanks for the smile, nerd.

I know one for donkey kong 64

    I found it by accident

I ran off the edge of the highest cliff by accident
but just before I fell off I pressedup on the c button
    and I survived the fall

I tried it again and it worked again
but you have to hit it just right, just before the jump it’s pretty cool

you’ll slow down before you hit the ground

Wait, that thing from Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is a GLITCH? I thought it was just part of the game. Seems on par with the rest of that mess of a game.

  • binghamkolby

    February 28, 2012 at 12:27 am

the glitch in Ghosts N Goblins can be explained quite easily, every NES cart has two graphics chips, one loads the tiles and sprites of the game into the RAM, the other loads a script that gives the CPU instructions on where to put the Tiles/Sprites in game, when you glitch out of the map and move beyond that script, the cpu will retain the same script, the only difference is that its now writing into other graphics in the RAM, which causes really fucked up things to happen
