James and Mike do some more Horror Trivia. This time from the book “The World’s Greatest Horror Quiz” by Dan Carlinsky. This video was getting a little long, so we divided it into two parts. Part two coming very soon.
The original ending of “Frankenstein Conquers the World” has the Monster escaping the volcano, only to get dragged underwater and killed by a giant octopus. That’s why one of the Gargantuas comes from the ocean and the other from the mountains. However, this was cut from the U.S. release.
Actually, the book was right about “Frankenstein Conquers the World”. The original ending has the Monster escaping the volcano, only to get dragged underwater and killed by a giant octopus. However, this was cut from the U.S. release.
“Hi there, Penis!” LOL OMFG I thought that was just a joke referencing the “pianist” joke earlier, not what it actually sounds like what the guy calls the dog!
Hey guys another great video I enjoyed the questions and humor but I’m curious to know while on the horror theme, will there ever be review on “phantasm” at all? been watching monster madness in hopes and waiting for it soon as it is my favourite horror series.
Mike have you guys considered a section where fans can vote on what the next avgn episode should be. you base your decision on which game gets the majority of the vote. Or you can post certain titles for fans to choose from.
Now this is what I love. No convention/expo crap, no awkward Overanalyzers stuff, no crossovers and no over-the-top and silly acting. Just Mike and James. Simple and great.
I have a complaint about this video. For those of us who’d like to try to play along at home, the visuals you chose give away many of the answers as soon a Mike reads the question.
I’m looking forward to Monster Madness and keeping my fingers crossed for Rosemary’s Baby and The Omen & Damien.
I bought one of your Monster Madness t-shirts last time. If there’s a new one & it looks good, I might buy another. Hint.
@MatthewHervey You’re right. The video can’t really be used for doing the trivia yourself, unless maybe you listen to it, audio only. Maybe we’ll do another one sometime where you can pause and guess. That would be a good idea.
@MotherFucker Mike@james Please make a video talking about [Rec] (and the sequel, both directed by Jaume Balagero and Paco Plaza)! You know both films? That will rule!
@MotherFucker Mike Please you and James make a video talking about [Rec] (and the sequel, both directed by Jaume Balagero and Paco Plaza)! You know both films?
@JamesAVGN@MotherFucker Mike haha I was just about to suggest Elvis trivia Whatever you choose, you really should make one where Mike answers the questions. Which brings up another question, how long have you been a fan of Elvis, Mike?
@JamesAVGN heres a useless bit of info about James whale. He was born in England, Dudley – which is a few miles from where i live. Upon a visit to one of Dudley Zoo ghost tours the historian who tells you about the local history of the castle and all the creepy stuff that goes on there happend to get onto a section about Frakenstein and James Whale. He claims that some of James Whales relatives have been on the tour and they informed him that when he was a boy he used to take arts and crafts lessions and spend alot of time milling around the castle doing sketchings and paintings of the castle. In later life when he directed Frakenstein they reckon that the sketches of the castle ruins gave him inspiration for the “The old abandoned watchtower” in his movies. You can read the little post that they guy made on his site :
I remember my dad showing me The Amazing Colossal Man when I was a little kid. In fact, I have the VHS right next to where I was sitting when you got to that part.
@JamesAVGN Watching through the older Monster Madness, there was War of the Gigantuas. You show in the beginning that the Monster attacks an octopus out of no reason, and the octupus is never mentioned again. Now you show in this Trivia a alternate ending from the “first” movie, where the monster is killed by an octopus. The same maybe? Second movie a revenge? Just some thoughts in a boring night in austria.
This just made me even more hungry for MONSTER MADNESS 2011! I honestly did not care too much for horror before I started watching them, now I’m hooked, thanks James & Mike!
As I was saying, I’ve never heard this book, but it has trivia about the classic horror films. Many of these are some mistakes in one of the answers who didn’t help as much. Looks like if you get the questions right, you win a “New Car” or a “Trip for 4 to Walt Disney World and Disneyland” and a bunch of prizes. Nice video.
well, I always figured vampires and the red cross were pretty similar…….obviously the reasons and motives are different, but….. still……..that was kind of a stupid joke though. vampires can’t be “the answer” to red cross because a single vampire doesn’t distribute it.

I have a complaint about this video. For those of us who’d like to try to play along at home, the visuals you chose give away many of the answers as soon a Mike reads the question.
I’m looking forward to Monster Madness and keeping my fingers crossed for Rosemary’s Baby and The Omen & Damien.

LOL! it goes to show how funny some badly written books are. I have a few books like the one you have, where it NEEDS revision.
September 15, 2011 at 3:13 pm
Béla Lugosi’s real name was in fact Béla Blaskó. However, Aristid Olt was his stage name while working at Star films.
