Also, see Master of Melodramatic Kung Fu Death Punch!
July 8, 2011 at 8:04 am
Mufufu 😀 Great Commentary!
July 8, 2011 at 8:27 am
Awsome review, very veery funny, as always excellent work James, oh wow check this out: i’m the 1st one to use the “Like button” and the 2nd one to comment this review!!!
July 8, 2011 at 8:42 am
Funny as allways… but dont say you haven’t seen another movie were somebody rips some balls of what about Sin City?
July 8, 2011 at 8:48 am
Man I’d watch a B movie with you guys any day. That was very funny. Especially that spitting commentary and the bit about Mr Miyagi VS Godzilla. ( : Me and my friends occasionally watch crappy movies like The Core or Dead or Alive (The movie based on the game) and laugh all the way through. We still have to watch the Street Fighter movie (based on the game). Yup, I never watch that movie o_O
July 8, 2011 at 9:09 am
i dont kno if its me but the audio on the vid seems really really quiet :/
March 16, 2013 at 6:32 am
July 8, 2011 at 9:10 am
my friend did that to me last week
you guys have to to return of the street fighter. i have to know how it ends
July 8, 2011 at 9:12 am
Actually a violent version of the three stooges has been done in South Park! Episode 150 (season 10 ep.11): “Hell on Earth 2006” Check it out!
Why don’t you make that movie with the around the world jump kick?? You’re a film maker!
July 8, 2011 at 9:32 am
I think i’m the only one who was hoping it wasn’t the vg movie. ROASTED CHICKEN! NEW YORK STYLE! 3AM!
July 8, 2011 at 9:33 am
Hey i think Avatar was filmed in AssholeVision
July 8, 2011 at 9:35 am
lol I love Mike’s laugh
July 8, 2011 at 9:39 am
I totally remember the Volkswagen game you guys mentioned, though where I’m from it’s known as “slug bug”. There was also a game involving punching a friend and saying “cockeye” when you see a car with only one working headlight, and one where you karate chop someone in the throat when you see a Hummer H2. The last one wasn’t too popular, probably because it really fucking hurts. You weren’t supposed to declare anything either, it was more about just administering pain.
July 8, 2011 at 9:42 am
my god why’d you even waste your time watching this assfuck?
July 8, 2011 at 10:12 am
James and Mike, have you guys ever considered doing a feature-length commentary, a la Rifftrax? I rather think the two of you are funnier than they are.
July 8, 2011 at 10:39 am
So now the logical next step is for James and Mike to make a Pat-sploitation movie of their own called Enter The Loogie.
It should be nothing but slow-mo scenes of the two of them making spit faces and red Kool-Aid spraying when they finally spit at each other. And someone’s balls being ripped off. Naturally. 🙂
July 8, 2011 at 10:48 am
Been a while since I’ve logged in and posted a comment, but I come back from time to time to check up in the site, and I REALLY enjoyed this segment you and Mike made. Got a rare copy of that Sonny Chiba “Street Fighter” flick myself, and I bought it for a song at a Japanese accessory department store, hehe! Now that you put this up, I feel compelled to rewatch the thing myself (only seen it once too, and I barely remember it, haha!)! Good job guys, and you still remain funny and an inspiration!;)
July 8, 2011 at 10:54 am
Hey jim do a commentary on the shitty ass fuck mario brothers movie!!! That would be gold
July 8, 2011 at 11:03 am
Oh my god Mike saw Violent Shit… one of the only movies I had to turn off because it was so damn bad. The dubbing was so shit.
This movie looks awesome but looks like it is a riffing movie where you just discuss stuff like mike and james did
July 8, 2011 at 11:15 am
Oh, that’s right!
July 8, 2011 at 11:27 am
Looks like this film blew his balls off. (of course the black guy had to die, he’s the black guy. Why else would he be in a japanese movie?)
that was awesome. I say that next you should do a commentary on Masked Rider the First. Why? Why not, it’s f**king awesome. People getting killed all over, a sweet flying kick move like in this film (except it’s actually effective), and it’s KAMEN RIDER! That warrants a commentary!
July 8, 2011 at 11:32 am
Wooow that movie was dramatic. Seemed pretty gory too for something in the early 70’s.
July 8, 2011 at 11:39 am
Nice commentary! I had to watch it now because I watched all these three films some time ago. We got ’em released here in Europe as three-pack set and even in original language. About that last fight too, the guy’s vocal cord actually is torn out from his throat, it will be mentioned in sequel. Well I don’t know if they say that thing in dubbed version though.
July 8, 2011 at 11:47 am
Great use of highlights from the movie though your discussion on the color of blood in movies went a little too long.
I’ll admit the other two Street Fighter movies were pretty boring so I don’t know how you guys can make it better with your riffing unless you can try it.
July 8, 2011 at 11:56 am
This was hilarious! Honestly, the whole thing with the Godzilla fight made this video worth watching. You could have taken out the movie and not called it a commentary and it wouldn’t have mattered, it still would have been great.
I agree with pro1137, the jumpkick around the world would be an excellent film for next time! I totally watch that!
July 8, 2011 at 12:02 pm
I mean referencing. I don’t know how that word got changed. I know I didn’t spell conferencing. I have no clue how that changed. Weird…
July 8, 2011 at 12:05 pm
I also remember the “punch buggy” game as “slug bug” but I had never heard of it until I had lived in Wisconsin, I’m not sure if there were different versions depending on area (Wisconsin also calls water fountains “bubblers”) but yeah, I remember the reference as well.
These videos are awesome though. I imagine they must take less time and effort (I would think anyways) than a typical episode of AVGN or something else, but they are awesome to watch so keep them coming! Its awesome to see what comes out organically while just sitting and watching something.
I can speak conversational Japanese anyways, if I could describe how to say “Toei” it would be like, “Toh-ay”. “e” in Japanese sounds like you’re saying the letter “A” and the “i” is like saying the letter “E”. just a fun fact XB
July 8, 2011 at 12:22 pm
That was extremely funny. I loved the Mr. Miyagi and Godzilla part. Love to actually watch that. I do remember the Punch Buggy game; it was a dumb fad. There was also another game with the same idea. Anyone remember the PT Cruiser game?
July 8, 2011 at 12:27 pm
James & Mike, you should do a commentary on Rikki-Oh or Tokyo Gore Police, so that we can see if they’re more gory than The Street Fighter =)
July 8, 2011 at 12:34 pm
I love these,thnx guys,moar! when u have time 😛
July 8, 2011 at 12:44 pm
Please give Return Of Street Fighter a chance, it was significantly better than the first one. Plus it has just as much crazy shit in it…like a a guy getting punched in the back of the head and his eyeball goes flying across the room from the force of the punch.
Also the punch buggy game was definitely around in New York 80’s – 90’s
Whats funny is I was walking down the street and heard a little kid hit his friend and say punch buggy. So I guess they’re still doin it.
July 8, 2011 at 12:54 pm
I know punch buggy and I was born in 93. Moved to the US in 2000 and I probably heard it around 2001.. Weird thing is that some guy punch buggyd me a few days ago… crazy
July 8, 2011 at 1:05 pm
I love when you and Mike do these reviews. I wonder, how far away is the camera from where you are sitting? The sound always seems really low.
July 8, 2011 at 1:09 pm
You should watch and comment on “Uchū kara no Messēji” A message from space which has Sonny Chiba as a lead character.
Since you are both fans of Star Wars, you can’t ignore that movie because it’s very similar with a low budget !
I have the series in DVD but the movie sums up everything…
July 8, 2011 at 1:13 pm
Great! Always lots of fun to see you two having fun.
July 8, 2011 at 1:43 pm
Nice one! I regret to inform you that “punch buggy” is still very much alive in Sweden, even among way too old people. The version I know is more general though, called “yellow car”.
July 8, 2011 at 1:51 pm
Similar gags to the flying kick gag you described have been done before.
Search YouTube for “Billy Quan”.
July 8, 2011 at 2:23 pm
couldn’t finish watching this… boring I guess. Did bring back good memories of Mystery Science Theater 3000.
July 8, 2011 at 3:08 pm
could you guys do a movie review on a teenage mutant ninja turtles movie called turtles forever
July 8, 2011 at 3:41 pm
OH SHIT AVGN now have a beard….. It feels weird…..
July 8, 2011 at 4:01 pm
“Street Fighter” is a classic.
And I definitely remember “Punch Buggy” aka “Slug Bug.”
You’re allowed three hits if the car was a convertible,
July 8, 2011 at 4:30 pm
didnt sin city have a scene where someone got their balls ripped off
July 8, 2011 at 4:31 pm
We used to play the same game with VW beetles, but we would say “SLUG BUG!” Now I drive an old beetle, and I’m a little heartbroken that they no longer have the same ability to cause impromptu violence.
July 8, 2011 at 4:34 pm
they also make KAMEN RIDER! kamen rider Kuuga W and decade are my fav… oh and BLACK and Amazon!
July 8, 2011 at 4:39 pm
james the flying kick you copy it from the liu kang crossover right
July 8, 2011 at 4:50 pm
SLUG BUG!!! lol, i also remeber From Tokyo Gore Police one guy getting his dick bitten off…ouch..
July 8, 2011 at 4:53 pm
When I saw the blood at 7:45 the first thing that popped into my head was the blood from the Graboids on the Tremors series.
July 8, 2011 at 5:23 pm
That was hilarious.
Lmfao goofiest ending ever. xD
But people do still play that like, “See x car, punch y times”.
My cousins play “banana” where they punch eachother every time they see a yellow car. 😛
I love how they stop talking about the movie and just start wondering how a fight between Godzilla and Mr Miyagi would be like.
July 8, 2011 at 5:42 pm
funnystufff…. hahahaha mike said “hes trying to get it as bad as he can in his throat , hahaha u guys should review jackie chan drunken master.
July 8, 2011 at 6:06 pm
Do more of these! I love this stuff!
July 8, 2011 at 6:07 pm
RE: Comment about the 3d glasses – watch the drawn together movie – they already did what you’re asking 🙂
July 8, 2011 at 6:22 pm
Brilliant comment, Mike. “What kind of hero goes around punching women in the face?”
James’ movie idea, the global jump kick thing, was hilarious.
July 8, 2011 at 6:38 pm
James watch the new episode of Futurama! they did the 3d joke! Bendar throws a sandwich at the screen and the message pops up “Put on your 3d glasses one minute ago”
was really funny
July 8, 2011 at 6:46 pm
Lol, Mike didn’t catch James’ unintended pun at all (“that’s nuts”), I think. Seems like something he would laugh at.
July 8, 2011 at 7:44 pm
July 8, 2011 at 7:49 pm
awesome i look forward to more of your guys commentary
Isn’t there a ball scene in Planet Terror? I just barely remember it, but didn’t Tarantino’s CGI balls dropped out of his pants or something? Only thing I remember, that comes close. Still wondering though, did he felt the pulse of the guy during that move?? What an awkward and disturbing way to die, almost mortal kombat-eske..
July 8, 2011 at 7:55 pm
2:08 This skill is called, “Pet your cat, villanously”
July 8, 2011 at 8:06 pm
That guy looked like it had to take a huge dump threw of the whole movie with all of those facial expressions lol
July 8, 2011 at 8:39 pm
I wanna see them review battle royal.
July 8, 2011 at 9:29 pm
100$ on Mike and James somke! 😀 Sounds the same, when we watch movies.
July 8, 2011 at 10:03 pm
@Furydeath- I completely agree. _Battle Royale_ is a great movie, plus it’s guaranteed to satiate any film fan’s thirst for gore & murder. Definitely at the top of things I’d like to see reviewed one day.
July 8, 2011 at 10:33 pm
I went into this Video thinking this was Street Movie The Game Movie.. I think I have seen this movie when I was very Young, But only in parts.. What I do remeber when I was young was Puch Buggy… I laughed Hard cause I have not heard that in so long.. I hated that crap..
July 8, 2011 at 10:36 pm
Sorry, I meant too say Street Fighter sorry abt proof reading my comments..
July 8, 2011 at 11:04 pm
That was friggin hilarious! I remember watching these a long time ago. Sister Street Fighter from 74 was pretty bad too. Great Job as always!
July 8, 2011 at 11:52 pm
Thart’s awesome that Mike mentioned Violent Shit haha. I didn’t know he was into more extreme stuff like that. Great video!
July 9, 2011 at 12:03 am
Well, he ain’t so much a good guy as he is just a bad mother fucker. I mean, he gets paid by people to fuck guys up.
July 9, 2011 at 12:05 am
In responce to the “Punch Buggy” game ,in Texas in the late 80’s early 90’s it was called ‘Slug Bug” also with the hittting of the arm. Also there was “Popeye” wher the first person to see a car with one headlight out would call “Popeye” and hit the roof of the vechile ,also with the same result. But if you got five they owed you five dollers:)
My copy of this has Street Fighter, Return of the Street Fighter and Ancient Fistory – yes that is a Popeye cartoon.
July 9, 2011 at 12:20 am
You know who should play Sonny Chiba in James and Mike’s rendition of “The Street Fighter”? Jim Cary. He’s the only one with classic over the top facial expressions that could match Chiba’s XD . At least in my opinion it would work.
July 9, 2011 at 2:36 am
BALLS RIPPED OFF……..almost as hardcore as james’ beard
July 9, 2011 at 3:11 am
exelllent video, btw. at the end of the video u could added some escenes of that man with the street fighter sounds, like the ha do ken or the sho ryu ken.
July 9, 2011 at 3:27 am
I’d really like to see that in a movie. A guy who doesn’t stop kick flying round the world. Hillariously funny!
July 9, 2011 at 4:28 am
What would be cooler, “Alien VS Miyagi” or “Miyagi VS Predator”?
July 9, 2011 at 4:43 am
Hilarious! I’d love to see more of these!
July 9, 2011 at 4:45 am
Did you see how the “glass” was just flailing around on the window frame when the guy went through it?
July 9, 2011 at 4:49 am
oh god, do more please
July 9, 2011 at 4:57 am
South Park did a parody of the three stooges that was violent. It was the Hell on Earth episode I believe.
July 9, 2011 at 5:41 am
Am i the only one who thinks Sonny Chiba looks exaclty like Segata Sanshiro? Cuz that’s the first thing that came to mind when i saw him LOL XD!
July 9, 2011 at 5:42 am
HEY JAMES! YOU SHOULD WATCH THIS:
Liu Kang’s Crossover !!!
July 9, 2011 at 6:03 am
Sin City also had a genital-ripping scene (just and FYI for James and Mike).
July 9, 2011 at 6:52 am
Great stuff if there was anyone who never seen this movie and you want more melodramatic kung fu they made a sequel to street fighter lol.
July 9, 2011 at 10:03 am
I think that would be a great idea that you guys make some commentary watching the Segata Sanshiro commercials.
LMAOOOOO about the part with the 3d glasses… there was a joke just about that in Futurama season 6 episode 17..
July 9, 2011 at 10:06 am
There was a ball ripping off shot in Demons 2 when the bodybuilders are fighting the demons in the parking garage. That black guy with the awesome voice gets his balls ripped off by one of the demons.
It is close, but Slave of the Cannibal God has a scene of a guy getting his cock cut off although that might have been lifted from some other movie because I’ve seen it used in a few 70s Italian Cannibal films.
July 9, 2011 at 12:10 pm
dawn of the dead used some sort of theater blood from 3M (M3?) and it looked all orange – some say it makes the movie better cuss it adds to the cartoony feel of the movie… some shit like that – i lve the movie anyways 🙂
and speaking of balls – Cannibal Holocaust shows ball being cut off – oh yea I said it!
July 9, 2011 at 2:40 pm
@ STALEPIE – Did you really just correct James’ spelling when you didn’t correctly spell the name of someone you’re insulting (Mike’s last name is spelled M-a-t-e-i).
I assure you that the irony is not lost, even on an ‘idiot’ such as myself.
July 9, 2011 at 2:47 pm
Great movie! I picked up a two pack Street fighter 1 +2 a couple years back and had no clue what I was in for!
Toei Also released Battle Royale. if you’ve never seen it, SEE IT!!!
Also another rare gem (not from toei) Cyber Ninja! A Mix of starwars, terminator, and Power Rangers. Just awesome.
July 9, 2011 at 4:50 pm
Bruce Willis rips a guys balls off in Sin City
July 9, 2011 at 5:07 pm
Mortal Kombat – The Street Fighter the movie edition….
July 9, 2011 at 6:31 pm
aaaa, this two guys a so high
July 9, 2011 at 6:47 pm
Great commentary, I do remember doing “Punch Buggy” back in the day I think it has a revival in the 90’s due to the release of the new redesigned Volkswagen Beetle.
July 9, 2011 at 8:25 pm
I haven’t seen this movie in forever, but I do remember the X-Ray shot and the ball-rip. That’s about all I remember about it, though.
July 9, 2011 at 9:45 pm
love this! would love to see more videos of you and mike just hanging out!!!!!
July 9, 2011 at 10:34 pm
The punch bug thing has been in VW commercials a lot recently. They ruined it by not having any bugs in the commercials (that I have seen, anyway). They just say “red one” and *bam*, no matter what type of VW it was.
As for balls, in the movie The Big Red One, a replacement private ends up needing replacement privates when he steps on a landmine. The Sarge explains the mine is not suppose to kill and pulls out one of the guy’s balls. “That’s why God gave ya two.”
July 10, 2011 at 12:47 am
James.. Please do one on “Hard to Kill” with stephen segal. its one of the most hilarious action movies ever made!
July 10, 2011 at 2:52 am
Hey James in Sin City there is a balls ripping cine too.
July 10, 2011 at 3:27 am
4:44 that happen before about the kick around the world from this clip from http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/264571
July 10, 2011 at 4:38 am
i used to do the “punch buggy (insert color here)” thing with my older siblings. I’m the youngest of 5, so it was the only legitimate way I could get a punch in without facing any sort of terrible consequences.
After a while, it seemed as though “slug bug” took over as the new slogan and get-out-of-jail-free card for punching people after seeing a VW Beetle.
July 10, 2011 at 7:41 am
could this be where they got the idea for x-ray moves in Mortal Kombat?
July 10, 2011 at 10:18 am
james are you another monster madness or are you too pre occupied by the avgn movie
July 10, 2011 at 12:48 pm
Nice… nothing like ripping out your jugular to ruine your day
July 10, 2011 at 2:53 pm
I remember that, except where I grew up we called it “slug bug” when you saw one
July 10, 2011 at 4:17 pm
Lol, “It’s spelled TOE-O-E-I”
July 10, 2011 at 4:57 pm
There’s the Carrie 2 balls get ripped off by speargun, that was pretty rough. Shitty movie, but. Ow.
July 10, 2011 at 4:59 pm
Also the movie Cannibal Holocaust is pretty damn extreme, has a shaft hacking, complete with blood geyser, pretty damn awesome.
July 10, 2011 at 5:30 pm
Lol. I remember a few years back I was really in the mood to watch martial arts films, and I ended up watching Street Fighter, Return of the Street Fighter, and Sister Street Fighter (a spin-off that only briefly has Sony Chiba in it) in addition to the my regulars The Big Boss, Fist of Fury, and Enter The Dragon.
There is another film with Sonny Chiba that I know of, Ninja Wars (1984). I’ve only seen part of it, but you may find this and an interesting watch.
July 10, 2011 at 5:55 pm
what about sin city? that had some fairly graphic ball ripping, it was pretty stylized though
July 10, 2011 at 6:30 pm
in planet terror the guy had a jar full of balls he cut off dudes.
July 10, 2011 at 8:24 pm
Happy Birthday To The FUCKING NERD
July 10, 2011 at 8:25 pm
The triangle is the Toei (“Toe-Ay”) logo.
July 10, 2011 at 10:21 pm
Wow that was,,,interesting. Also, happy birthday James.
July 11, 2011 at 1:01 am
Happy birthday james .
July 11, 2011 at 1:04 am
James and Mike great video as always,
allow me to explain the whole thing where it looks like he is
trying to pull a loogy . In martial arts its a technique in breathing control to inhale slowly while putting pressure on the diafram is helps to regain your breath and slower your hreat rate. In Kyokushin karate this is refered to as
Ibuki – (Breathing tension technique) We are also instructed that it helps
to center your Ki energy (refered to as Chi on the asian contenent and Ki in japan)
July 11, 2011 at 1:37 am
When you guys mentioned Morita fighting Godzilla I immediately thought ‘Hmm. That could probably be done easily with AfterEffects”. And of course you both came to that conclusion a minute later lol. Also, i hadn’t thought of the “punch buggy’ fad in well over a decade even though we all used to do it all the time.
lastly, when I was growing up, my dad would imitate karate moves and he would always make those stupid throat clearing sounds. Seeing as how we have this movie on dvd, I now know where he got it from lol.
July 11, 2011 at 1:54 am
Great Commentary…but wheres the BEER? be funny if you guys were drinking too.
July 11, 2011 at 2:49 am
Wow, I’ve only commented like once before a long time ago XD Yeah, I have this movie, it was a gift that had a bunch of Sonny Chiba flicks and footage of the early Bruce Lee movies when he was a little kid.
The Street Fighter was actually a trilogy, “The Street Fighter”, “Return of The Street Fighter”, and “The Street Fighter’s Last Revenge”. All of them are public domain (though Last Revenge is HEAVILY edited because the only dubbed version was distribuited by Miramax I think at that time in the states, it’s 3am and my memory is fuzzy, and there are no directors cut available, unless Japan has released something, I dunno). Not to mention the “Sister Street Fighter” spin-off that has it’s own trilogy but not at all related to the Sonny Chiba ones (though he does appear in the first one, but not as the same character as his Street Fighter movie…chronologically confusing, I know).
Sorry if I rambled on too long, this is one of my fave flicks and it this was an awesome video XD
July 11, 2011 at 3:23 am
Great watch again guys! After Mike’s comment I’m craving to see an AVGN review of Street Fighter The Movie The Game on PS1 or Saturn.
July 11, 2011 at 5:34 am
Mister Miyagi doing a flying kick around Earth and come back to hit Godzilla. Insta-Blockbuster!
July 11, 2011 at 9:06 am
For a moment i tought it was SF The animated movie, the anime one that was released in 94/95. It was so fucking amazing for its time!
PS: I must see this one, its a cult movie from now! 🙂
July 11, 2011 at 10:50 am
The talk about the fake blood reminded me of this Five Second Film:
