1st. Nice Q&A but many questions have been answered numerous times and James answers them again so laid-off nice…thanks James, keep up the good work =)

I like “You know what’s bullshit” and “Board James” but “Overanalyzers are pretty boring.

  • June 20, 2011 at 5:43 am

“Spirit of Speed 1937″ was the title of the Dreamcast game that Acclaim released through LJN. And to be fair, LJN didn’t actually make games. They just published them without disclosing the 3rd party developers :)

Ha, looks like that dreamcast game really lives up to the golden LJN standard.

  • marvelis

    June 20, 2011 at 7:14 am

Actually that spirit of speed on DC would probably make for a heck of an AVGN episode!

Nice to see you’re drawing the Hunter S. Thompson fans.

James, I’ve always wanted to know… IN the indi jones AVGN you did, you whipped something ( I think it was the game) and it flew and boke something and out of character you say “oh shit”. Why did you leave it in and what did you break?

  • June 20, 2011 at 8:39 am

Thank you so much for posting this James. Hearing you speak is always fascinating.

I can’t wait for the AVGN behind the scenes / making of video.

  • June 20, 2011 at 9:05 am

Oh and THANK YOU for putting in text of people’s questions who were not miced..

Lots of other websites will just post the Q&A as is, and it’ll be impossible to hear what’s going on. The text helped so much.

    June 20, 2011 at 9:32 am

I’ve never gone to these conventions but everybody I saw in this video looks like the sort who goes to video game conventions, if you know what I mean.

But why are there bored middle aged women there? Are they mothers of somebody there?

  • June 20, 2011 at 9:58 am

James is so patient with people, what a cool guy. Great session!

James has one cool life lol…srsly

  • June 20, 2011 at 1:13 pm

Why do I have a feeling that because the AVGN movie revolves around ET…we will be taking a trip the landfill in AZ where supposedly all those millions of copies of ET are at…

You can see how uncomfortable James is around these neckbeard rejects. James is a very casual gamer who just has a big collection and has a character (AVGN) that imitates these real people. You can see he doesn’t know that much that he hasn’t already talked about in his videos. But these people talk to him like he’s always in character, like all he does is talk about shitty games and whats on his websites. He isn’t like that. It’s like going to Gamestop and bothering those dudes telling them about your highscore and why you think Zelda worked better on 2D consoles.

    June 20, 2011 at 1:33 pm

Legend of the Blue Hole and The Deader the Better are the films he’s the most proud of…. so far!

  • June 20, 2011 at 2:50 pm

Nerds, nerds, and more fucking nerds. Ranging from immature 12 year old’s to old men. I can tell how uncomfortable James was.

  • June 20, 2011 at 4:53 pm

This looks like it would have been a lot of fun. For the reference, my favorite dinosaur is Triceratops. When I was a kid, it was Allosaurus. Riveting information, I know.

FUCK YEAH The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, my favorite game OF ALL TIME!!!!

  • Dolly Dagger

    June 20, 2011 at 10:17 pm

Seriously? What the hell was up with the majority of those questions?

Why Rolling Rock? – Asked. and. answered. Like a thousand fucking times already.

Did you really drink actual scotch during Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde? – Well, obviously–James pounded down an entire decanter of scotch on-camera during the filming of the video. (eye roll)

Review this random, system-less controller in one minute. – Well, it’s grey. And it has buttons on it. Awesome.

I get that you’re nervous meeting someone that you admire, but tap-dancing Christ, come up with something semi-intelligent and/or original.

I was at this convention and wrote an article about my experience.

Zelda a link to the past… my fave Zelda game thus far. It’s the only Zelda game (and the only game too) I’ve beaten over 20 times and still want to play it (most Zelda games I beat them once or twice and that’s it).

    June 20, 2011 at 11:46 pm

That European Atari controller he brought up, the one with the stiff stick, I bought two of those from a Spanish eBay user. You can actually unscrew the joystick off the directional pad and then use it. THEY’RE SWEET!

  • Calavera

    June 21, 2011 at 12:03 am

I agree with Dolly Dagger, alot of the question were just ridiculous! I would have to say the guy with the Atari 7800 controller was the worse. I mean what did he honestly think James was going to say about it? I hope the dude felt like an idiot when james handed it back after like 10 seconds lol

  • jackblack

    June 21, 2011 at 6:12 am

you know what sucks for me, my sound on my computer doesn’t work so I can’t listen to what he’s saying

Ha I actually know what LJN Dreamcast game he is talking about. Spirit of Speed 1937 and it is considered one of the worst games ever. I didn’t even know LJN made it until I looked it up after watching this. When he said about LJN making a dreamcast game, I thought i wonder if its Spirit of Speed because that is by far the worst game on the Dreamcast. Sure enough it is.

Wow. People in the comments here even find ways to bitch about a simple Q&A video. That’s amazing.

    June 22, 2011 at 10:17 am

anyways it is freee as I say so you dont have to sign up, but if you do, then could you plase please not change the profile referrer as a way of saying thankyou for someone who finally allows you to do what you always wanted and play the same games the nerd does.

Wow! Something tells me that 95% of that audience has never been laid. If I ever get famous and my fanbase is filled with overweight computer nerd shut-ins, I just might kill myself.

    July 3, 2011 at 10:33 pm

Tomorrow I’m actually going to try Rolling Rock myself. Fireworks and a six-pack of AVGN’s beer of choice. It’s gonna be a hell of a 4th.

I’m gonna drink some Rolling Rock (and some Schweppes) and play some shitty games. Get the full Nerd experience going.

In 2000, LJN made a return in name only when Acclaim used the brand to publish Spirit of Speed 1937, a video game title for the Sega Dreamcast. I think the highest review rating it got on a scale from 1-10 was.. 1-3.. Lol… they didn’t stop there either.. even went as far as to bash every aspect of the game. Well done LJN/Acclaim. Well done.
