These are certainly getting better, this episode was more balanced between the characters, wasn’t just the Mike and James show, which is awesome, but, yeah.
I also think Stephanie needs to drop the accent. The rest of the cast feel natural, and real. With Stephanie it feels like acting. I just don’t think it works with one person acting, and the rest being natural.

  • gamera138

    June 17, 2011 at 5:22 pm

i’ve enjoyed these all, because i overanalyze everything myself.
also, the people who complain, um 1)it’s free, 2)they never asked for suggestions, 3)they’re not going to drop the chick who does the accent. she’s in all of these and other stuff they’ve done (TMNT pizza tasting), so she is clearly their friend, and is not going anywhere. either don’t watch or move on. why’s everyone have to hate?

  • June 17, 2011 at 5:25 pm

    It’s not a cape. It’s a cloak

  • Dolly Dagger

    June 17, 2011 at 5:56 pm

    Naked Dracula…mmmmm. (drool)

Did anybody hear what Mike said to Susie after she called him a kiss-up? I’ve watched that part like five times now and still can’t quite make it out.

  • Snoofalah

    June 17, 2011 at 6:30 pm

I think his cape becomes the leathery wing material, so the cape is magical, too. That leaves the other questions unanswered, like where the rest of his outfit goes. I think primarily his cape becomes his wings, but that’s as far as I can speculate.

    Another “shitty” episode of OverAnalyzers!

And by shitty I am course referring to both the high level of scatilogical humor and overall low quality of the work in general.

  • PorkFrydRice

    June 17, 2011 at 6:55 pm

I had some trouble following along as first but after seeing the illustration of the cape going into naked Dracula’s butt, it all made sense.

    June 17, 2011 at 6:57 pm

hahahaha. This is great. I love Mike getting denied in the beginning, I hope to see more of the girl and mike argueing. I also think what great about this is everyone really has an equal input. The chemistry of the group is really good. I like how even the group was laughing during the discussion. It’s fun to watch, and I really did laugh out loud. This is, in my opinion, by far the best episode of the series so far. Thank you, and keep up the great work.

    June 17, 2011 at 7:09 pm

I have mixed feelings about this episode. On one hand, you mixed up quite nicely, with a bit more interaction amongst the players. On the other… I hate to say it, but- you picked a lame topic to discuss. Dracula’s cape? You might as well discuss what type of breath mints Spiderman uses, or whether Superman wears boxers or briefs. I just didn’t see the point.

However, that part about pop culture saved the day. It’s kind of like that heist caper with Robert De Niro. It started off lame, but in the end, it was almost worth the price of admission. Almost.

  • handsome pete

    June 17, 2011 at 8:20 pm

It doesn’t take powerful magic to make people think you have clothes when you don’t. It could be just mesmerism. Even him turning into a bat, that could be mesmerism, and he’s actually just running away. The cape is probably just so if the mesmerism doesn’t work then he covers himself with it and runs into the night, which is probably why he also prefers the night.

    June 17, 2011 at 8:53 pm

I’m not very fond of OverAnalyzers, but what I do like about it… It talks about the things I’ve always asked myself over the years. My friends and I would sit around and ask these questions.

  • Waywardultima

    June 17, 2011 at 8:57 pm

for those complaining about the accent. IN one of his posts James said that they filmed I think 8 in one day so it’s not changing. I’m pretty sure that he said that on new ones that weren’t already filmed it’s not going to be there.

  • inspectornills

    June 17, 2011 at 9:21 pm

Why do people say this sucks? To all the haters here, haven’t you guys ever just sat around with your friends talking about random shit? Doesn’t your topic just get derailed into something where you guys just overanalyze stuff? This is what the show is about, its about what would happen if those random thoughts of bullshit with friends was turned into a more professional looking scene. If you don’t like the show, then stop saying so and stop watching it.

This was a funny fucking episode! See all you trolls and haters? Give a series a chance to find it’s voice instead of bitching and whining! This was truly top-notch comedy by Cinemassacre.

I honestly hope you guys make more of these — they’re really growing on me!

  • Jack Noir

    June 17, 2011 at 10:59 pm

    well that’s kind of inconsistent

the girl says she’s not talking to mike but then later she is

apparently we must have missed some step in the continuity of this scene, maybe they made up off-screen in the clothing dimension.. i guess that could account for some lost time or something

  • clovernuts

    June 17, 2011 at 11:11 pm

You know how turkeys have those feathers that they expand from their tales? Same thing. Except his must shrink into the back of his neck. I know it sounds crazy……but the only other explanation is magic. The same dark magics that allow him to live would be the ones that allow him to change his shape. I would love to think that it goes up his butt. But is that the regal thing that a count would do? He has vampire concubines for Christs sake. Do you not think that he has at least 15 to 20 vampire succubi waiting for him at the castle. I don’t think he needs any kind of ass to cape play. Maybe the cape is just a way to project the shadow that is his black soul. Think not of the cape as a physical thing that needs to be governed by earthy laws. We are talking about undead here remember.

  • June 17, 2011 at 11:23 pm

this show was improving with the last 2 episodes………but now i feel they have gone backwards into bat shit this episode sucked.

James, you think I’d miss and obvious Calvin and Hobbes reference?

Of course the world was black and white! Calvin’s dad said so!

I can’t believe I made an account on Cinemassacre just to point that out.

Magnus, that’s a shame, because you missed out on one Hell of a line at the end.

  • rebeloftheunderground12

    June 18, 2011 at 6:21 am

    @ magnus.

prove me if im wrong, but MOST people came here initially because of avgn. that persona talks about scatophilia (sp?) all the time. always mentions shit. he mentions other hilarious things because of the absurdity of the idea. not to throw out a buzzword, but it seems to me you might be too conservative for not allowing yourself to see something so absurdly funny, because it has to do with shit.

what makes someone so turned off they get offended by the word “shit”? is it the word “shit”? cause in most countries in the world there is no such thing as a “curse word”. is it the idea? the idea, while funny, is tame compared to some other jokes i have heard.

i find it funny how some people could be offended by something, whether or not they admit it, found funny at one point or another. immaturity is a funny thing. at one point you can be real and admit when something is funny out of the fact of satire, then at the same time immaturity is characterized by social standards where if it contains these principles, it is immature. isnt the whole point of characterizing something as being mature entertainment wise as laughing at the absurdity of immature ideas, regardless of age. not just that, but also ideas that really arent relevant to children.

being mature, to me, means being open minded, realizing the limits of what humankind should find funny, OUTSIDE of the social norm. challenge yourselves. obviously children usually (not all, but the norm) think from a linear perspective. adults eventually are able to hopefully make abstract decisions about art. (unfortunately it seems patriotism gets in the way of that). just think twice before judging a work of art.

I like every James has ever done on this site and for SpikeTV but I have to say these overanalyzers are awfully boring. I’ve watched every single one so far and the only one I even thought was CLOSE to being funny or interesting was the one about Turtle money.

  • AnAddictedGamer

    June 18, 2011 at 8:20 am

“You don’t say much but when you do you get it right.”

  • Mbrosforever

    June 18, 2011 at 8:52 am

I think that Dracula and Batman’s clothes teleport into Optimus Prime’s Trailer where the Easter Bunny gives the Teenage mutant ninja turtles money and stores his magic chocolate eggs via dimensional transport

  • June 18, 2011 at 9:32 am

You know that’s ALWAYS been a part of James’ humor, right? Even in the nerd videos. Perhaps ESPECIALLY in the nerd videos.

Look at shows like South Park and Family Guy. They thrive on this same kind of humor, and they’re certainly targeting adults. So you’re a bit off-base in thinking adults can’t have a good laugh at this kind of humor. But you’re certainly entitled to not like it if that’s your taste, just as others have said it’s weird that you’re here on this site at all in that case.

Personally, I think the last few episodes were better than this one, but this one was still decent. The first three episodes of the OA weren’t doing it for me, but since then I’ve been able to enjoy each one in some varying level — the show has certainly gotten better, even if they were all pre-recorded. Maybe the topics just got better or maybe you guys got more comfortable as you went on, who knows? 🙂

I was actually more interested to hear about this whole black and white VS color thing. That could almost be an entire episode on its own. 🙂

  • June 18, 2011 at 1:13 pm

So funny I love this new series it had my spitting out my coffee. I always thought the cape went into his wings too. I mean did you ever notice how sometimes the capes bottom has ridges like a bats wing.

Wow rebeloftheunderground12 I’m pretty sure he is not offended he just thinks words like that get annoying and perhaps a little childish because it is so redundant as am I. Don’t get me wrong, I love the nerd but it does get a little tiring hearing that all of the time. Nevertheless, don’t worry about it these are just our opinions.

Hmm… Well here are my 2 Theories. Theroy 1- Dracula Really Dose Store the Clothes Up inside himself BUT is not dirty because At some point When you Become Undead, the newly undead go to a place where they are SUPER Cleaned inside and out, Obviously to protect the bodys they have from decaying and keep it clear from pests.
Theory 2: The Clothes are stored in a Pocket Dimennsion…Will call it…”Costome Space” Basicly He just pulles the Costome out of the dimension and the clothes simply magiicly puts it on Dracula for him….Seems to be a theme with Fictional characters to pull objects from nowhere, Prime example is with Segas Amy Rose Hedgehog and her large Piko Piko Hammer. it was declared that it c0mes from “hammer Space”….Hmm, I wounder if Hammer Brothers Have access to Hammer Space as well

@7inchspike: I think you’re right. It’s like Meta Knight from Kirby.

  • June 18, 2011 at 8:27 pm

I liked how James mentions how Lee doesn’t talk as much. I’ve been wondering this for a while, but it paid off a little here for a good laugh. I would guess Dracula’s clothes work like they did with Bayonetta, that they’re apart of him. His clothes retract (or shrink) as he turns into his bat form or whatever form he chooses.

  • Adamkovac

    June 18, 2011 at 8:31 pm

OA is starting to grow on me too. It seems that they got better and better as they worked more together. But there is a huge difference between James and Mike on one side, and Susie, Matt and Lee. There’s no question that Mike and James hold the show together, I would have no problem listening them two talking about stuff like this in dozens of episodes. They’re very good friends, Mike has been on cinemassacre from the almost very beginning (I think), and it’s fascinating to hear them “brainstorming”. You can clearly see how they save the moment when Susie says something stupid, and way to serious for this kind of a show and its tone. That’s what they are, SF/geeky/wacky/pop culture types, that’s why we like them, because they are not “average” and “normal”. But maybe that’s exactly why it’s good to have Susie on the show, that contrast even more shows us how much we love James and Mike for being so wacky, special and creative, while so many ordinary people from our lives are like Susie. Matt is getting better and better and I like his charachter the most, Lee is not nearly as fun to watch but James himself said it all in this episode 😀

“…he might not want to walk around smelling his own ass all day.” + the look on Susie’s face.

That was a great episode. The Cinevore crew do bring some good stuff to the table. I’m glad they’re part of the OA team.

  • Mansondevil33

    June 18, 2011 at 11:24 pm

Maybe the bat shits mist, and that’s the mist effect we see when Dracula turns into a bat. So the bat instantly shits, gaseous shit at that, when being transformed from Dracula. So there is no particulate shit matter on the cape – but it still smells like shit.

  • June 19, 2011 at 6:50 am

You’re both wrong. magnushaavikko plainly stated what he doesn’t like, which is the discussion about Dracula stuffing shit up his ass. It doesn’t have anything to do with swearing, otherwise he wouldn’t even be here. It’s funny as hell when James gets pissed and starts talking about what he wants to do to the game or the characters or whatever. Discussions about bat shit, however, not everyone finds to be funny.

This is about different humor tastes. This comment section goes back and forth between love and hate. So I think what it comes down to is this: If you like the show, watch it. If not, don’t. James will be making plenty of other videos.

  • MDWallstreet

    June 19, 2011 at 9:21 am

Listen guys, I like Susie, but I cant stand the accent, honestly, Im not trying to be a jerk, I’m sure she’s a really nice girl with a good sense of humour (Im Canadian) I just cannot stand when people use fake accents, especially one so blatantly fake. it just annoys me, to the point where I cannot watch these videos. I keep trying to watch the new ones, hoping she’ll drop the accent, and just be more herself, but it’s still there. Again, I like the idea, but to ME personally, it’s unwatchable, and yes for that one reason alone. Maybe I’m just a weirdo and my opinion obviously dosnt matter, and if people like it the way it is, then that’s fine. But like I said, for ME, OA is unwatchable. Susie, I love ya baby, just be yourself.

  • MDWallstreet

    June 19, 2011 at 9:40 am

And Arliman, straight up, you’re right, if you dont like it dont watch it, because if people like it the way it is, then it shouldnt be changed. However, I do like the idea, and would like to enjoy watching it. However it dosnt appeal to my tastes for basically one major reason that I cannot get over (as insignificant of a reason it may be) , and im just offering some criticism that might be taken as a reason why I (and maybe others) personally dont watch the product, and maybe can be helpful to James and or Mike in the future when making other videos, so that maybe I (and others) may like it and watch it, as oppose to not watching because “I dont like it” lol make sense?

  • Gav

    June 19, 2011 at 9:53 am

Guys I would so watch this show (I don’t) if Susie would DROP that annoying accent!

  • MDWallstreet

    June 19, 2011 at 10:07 am

And just one more the thing, for Susie, personally I dont dig the accent. I like Susie, but it seems that the reason for the accent, is that Susie is a character created for a comedy program. And the idea behind the accent, more than likely, is that it was probably thought that the accent would make Susie’s (the character) comments MORE humourus, but in my opinion, if the comments she makes are funny, they’re funny regardless of how she speaks, and if they’re not, using the fake accent makes them worse. I can tell Susie has had little or no experiance being a voice actor, so Susie is performing an act at a novice level, which actually takes away from the comments themselves (funny or not) because of blatant fakeness. focus is taken away from the humour, and it sticks out like a sore thumb. its like putting up a billboard that advertises Coke in neon green with flashing lights, if the ad works on its own, you dont need the lights, and if it dosnt work, the lights make it worse.

  • MDWallstreet

    June 19, 2011 at 10:15 am

Just look at James and Mike, they are pretty much just being themselves, and it works, because what they are saying is funny, whether they are speaking in russian or not. Susie is trying to portray a character, with an accent, and her incompatance of doing so conviencingly, takes away from her comments, even if they are funny. its like drinking a good drink in a bad cup. the bad cup makes the drink worse. lol i dont even know WTF im talking about anymore.
I LOVE AVGN, I would hope for my selfishness that Susie would just be herself, but Susie, you gotta do whatever it is that tickles your fancy regardless of what people think.

  • gamerdude122

    June 19, 2011 at 10:47 am

God, I don’t like the caps thing, but damn. You have no idea how annoying it is to see people continue to complain when James has already stated that they shot a good bit of episodes all in one go, then when they saw the reception for her accent, they dropped it when they starting recording again.

  • shimley

    June 19, 2011 at 1:17 pm

I think it’s pretty obvious what happens to Dracula’s cape: Dracula’s clothes are a part of his body. When he turns into a bat, the clothes fuse even more with his body. The cape actually becomes more dense and thus smaller, just like Dracula’s body, when he transforms into a bat. The wings consist of his now-denser cape and so he is able to fly in bat form. It’s as simple as that.

  • Constructive Critic

    June 19, 2011 at 1:45 pm

    Okay, here’s the deal.

I’ve watched most of these for two reasons: you bunch are some of the best friends a girl could ask for and it’s a great concept, the ‘over analyzing’ of various people, places and things.

But almost every time, the skit falls short. The Krang one was pretty good, the Optimus Prime bit was promising and I love anything to do with Ernest. The topics and setup are great but, and this one is the perfect example, the discussion falls apart. The whole joke is to seriously discuss a ridiculous topic. But you’re not – the conversation just degrades into shit and ass jokes (not really even jokes, just the mention of the words ‘ass’ and ‘shit’). These are all fine in moderation, for example if one or two of the characters offered these up as answers. But this is the second or third time the conversation has just become about shit (flies last time, bats this) and sticking things up creatures’ asses (bats this time, rabbits last). Can we get a character who actually takes a serious, academic approach to the subject? That’s what I expected the first time I tuned in and have been missing with each subsequent viewing.

Like I said, I love the concept. I even registered an account on here to comment cause I think this could be REALLY funny, it’s just not quite there yet…

Like I said before Arliman I like the nerd but yes it does get annoying when certain things are said constantly. I have to keep watching what he puts up on this site even though I don’t like the OA episodes much… it’s like an addiction really and I think it is fair to say a lot of people feel the same way about these episodes but us fans love the nerd so much we have to watch everything he puts out.. great explination however.

I like the idea of a glamour that makes people believe that Dracula is fully clothed when he is actually naked. It reminds me of a webcomic, “Clan of the Cats” where the heroine, Chelsea uses this charm sometimes ’cause she tends to lose her clothes while transforming into a black panther :

You may read this page and and the following one to fully see that in action.

Funny fact: Chelsea has been fighting Dracula for a while…

Second of all, I always assumed that Dracula’s cape turns into the bat’s wings. It makes sense. I think that’s why they decided to give dracula a cape in the first place.

This episode surely took a great leap!

The whole interaction was better, tossing around more ideas. Shooting each others ideas down. Going pro and con.

It all works very well! Lee saying that smelling might not be noticed, but then again it isn’t suiting for seducing.

This is the essence of the words “Over Analyzers”! This is how it should always work 🙂

Now. The little joke about “When Lee say something it’s always right”. I know you try to pull the one from “gone in 60 secs”, but it didn’t work as well here. We haven’t seen much too him. Never really seen any close ups of him thinking or speculating over stuff… mearly going along. Also to empathize this character you need him to take more silent action, in order to make the times when he finally speaks that more valuable. He needs to be a bit more cool… and stay in character instead of just going along and smiling at everything

My last comment is that you kinda skipped over a obvious side plot. The episode starts out with Susie and Mike discussing and Susie clearly is pissed off at Mike, but later when Mike cuts her off, she doesn’t react to it, but lets him finish. If she is to be “russian / german” or what ever European accent you’ve chose for her, she needs to stand her ground more.

She should react strongly to this! Not getting completely pissed off, but just react, tell him that she wasn’t finished, and really put him in his place, and maybe, as soon as the “session” is over, leave the room or completely ignore him. My point is. You can’t make a buildup without using it fir payoff later 🙂

Yet another pointless video…. why is it that everytime “susie” makes a statement I just want to punch her? It’s not even the accent, it’s the retardedness of the statement itself. Like as soon as the conversation starts to pick up and have some sort of cohesion and flow, she starts talking and sets it back to ground zero…. As in the first real comment out of her mouth.. “then wouldn’t bat shit get all over it”?…Seriously? That’s the best thing she can come up with? *sigh* I pray for the day you move on to other media for us to enjoy again, AVGN-Board James-Etc etc etc. Anything besides this….

I can’t wait until the accent is gone just because I want to see everyone start bitching about her losing it. Personally, I don’t care because I stopped watching at episode 4.

I dont like overanalysers never have, ut then again I dont even watch itthat much, and you know why its the title I thik it must be boring like a math or history lesson, but then when I see turtles I get happy and do watch the whole episode, james perhaps you can think about that next time

Maybe Optimus’s trailer goes to the same dimension as the bat-capes.

the cape obviously turns into the bat’s wing membranes, this needs no discussion in my opinion.

O.K., here is the real answer. THe cape is magical and transforms Dracula into a bat. His clothes get sucked into the amulet he wears just like th Flash’s ring hides his costume.

“See, real life used to be black and white at one time…” I started laughing at that point, when Mike cracked, Lol!

I love how Susie keeps a matter of fact-dry tone no matter how strange and ridiculous the theory is.

Haha aww, Mike!Mike: So, what did you have for lunch today?Susie: I’m not talking to you..Mike: oh…

  • July 2, 2013 at 4:32 pm

Clearly, batman, robin, and dracula use Dimensional Compression also known as Flat-Space technology in the ultraviolet movie. Which would also explain how the clothes get put on and taken off so quickly as there’s a scene where Violet uses Flat-Space bracelets to not only retrieve two automatic pistols, but have them built into her hands.
