I loved finding all the mistakes when I watched the old TMNT as a kid. Hell, now days it would make a great drinking game. Great Post.
January 2, 2014 at 7:13 am
my co-worker’s step-sister made $13234 the previous week. she gets paid on the laptop and moved in a $557000 condo. All she did was get blessed and apply the guide leaked on this web site… http://cpl.pw/OKeIJo
April 25, 2014 at 3:32 pm
Fuck your co-worker’s slutty step-sister. Spambot.
September 5, 2014 at 11:41 pm
Several of these wouldn’t have been an issue if the turtles were all wearing red bandannas like they are supposed to.
May 31, 2011 at 12:11 am
yeah, it’s always a great day when there is something new on cinemassacre!
May 31, 2011 at 12:13 am
Fuck yea! You rock James!
May 31, 2011 at 12:16 am
90s and 80s cartoons seem to have far more errors than cartoons today.
One of the things I love about ’em. 😀
May 31, 2011 at 12:22 am
Lol no. 20 was probably the funniest for me.
May 31, 2011 at 12:27 am
This cartoon had more errors than any I can remember as a kid. But you know what? It really didn’t matter to me then, and it doesn’t matter to me now because everything else about this cartoon is so well done. I still love watching it all these years later, and always will.
Great Video James, I hope TMNT Tuesdays goes on for a long time! I have really enjoyed watching each video.
May 31, 2011 at 12:41 am
Good video, its amazing how many mistakes there are in this series. Somehow I am always able to forgive them for it. I always remember seeing these things as a kid and then again with my subsequent viewings as an adult.
May 31, 2011 at 12:42 am
also, In that last shot april, or i think its april. is like 7 feet tall.
May 31, 2011 at 12:43 am
Those still frames remind me of Plumbers Don’t Wear Ties.
May 31, 2011 at 12:48 am
Shredder Bebop and Rocksteady are in a boat…. wait i think i heard this joke before
May 31, 2011 at 12:49 am
um WTF was up with the food in the foreground at 2:00?
May 31, 2011 at 12:54 am
LMAO @ #13
May 31, 2011 at 12:55 am
My dad used to work in 3D animation. We used to love watching cartoons to find mistakes.
May 31, 2011 at 1:13 am
Woohoo! More Turtle Tuesdays!
May 31, 2011 at 1:16 am
ahahah!! i laughed my ass off at shredder farting!
May 31, 2011 at 1:32 am
XD! We’ll never know what pissed Splinter off.
May 31, 2011 at 2:15 am
Thank you for another wonderful video, James! Keep up the good work!
May 31, 2011 at 2:41 am
The turtles are supposed to be short. Okay, not that short, but not like a normal person’s height.
I was laughing for like a solid minute at pissed off Splinter.
May 31, 2011 at 3:12 am
“Whoa dude, look at that hand!” I like Donatello’s face at 6:04. Maybe the bear and skeleton are also mutants!
May 31, 2011 at 4:26 am
Pissed off Splinter, awkward pose Shredder and Mikey in that car going down the stairs had me rolling James. Did the animators ever have a “neutral” face for splinter? I would love to know the context of that scene, I’m guessing Mikey pissed him off somehow.
May 31, 2011 at 4:32 am
I can’t stop laughing at #5 and 6!!
May 31, 2011 at 4:39 am
From all the animation error there, I can definitely say the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are the least weirdest thing about the show. As if the idea of one of the slowest animal on Earth being a kind of warrior known for implementing agility isn’t weird enough.
Yeah, these errors in the Ninja Turtles cartoon were pretty amusing.
May 31, 2011 at 4:52 am
Haha loved number 5 and 6 😀
May 31, 2011 at 5:02 am
God, I hadn’t laughed that hard in weeks. Thank you, James! 😀
May 31, 2011 at 5:32 am
RIP Macho Man Randy Savage
May 31, 2011 at 5:38 am
You know, both me AND my friend remember distinctly the animation of Shredder jumping after Irma steps on his toes. Are you sure it’s not just like a glitch in the DVD version or something?
May 31, 2011 at 5:51 am
In the 2nd episode, there’s a part where April drives the new turtle van and she has this weird look , (Funny eyes, rocking back and fourth the steering wheel while moving her red left and right)
May 31, 2011 at 6:05 am
The skeleton is obviously trolling since he’s making the trollface.
http://i54.tinypic.com/51rhwx.png
May 31, 2011 at 6:54 am
The scene were Irma steps on Shredder is probably your dvds problem.I remember he holding his foot and jumping like an idiot in pain.A pretty funny scene
May 31, 2011 at 7:23 am
at #1 what about the giant female rat? at the start of the clip
May 31, 2011 at 8:29 am
The still-frames are there usually during production, to have an idea of the timing of each shot and poses. After that, animators draw the in-between frames.
But here I guess they left them in because they didn’t have time to clean and finish the scenes. : P
May 31, 2011 at 8:40 am
There’s another big one in 20,000 Leaks Under the Sea. Near the end, when they’re trying to get the scuba helmet off of Vernon, Bern starts screaming asking where April is, then Vernon says, “Nevermind April, someone get this helmet off me!” But when he says it, both his lips AND Bern’s lips move with the line, so it looks like both Bern and Vernon are saying the line with Vernon’s voice.
May 31, 2011 at 8:51 am
LOL someone smoke to much when he make this show… hehehehe…
p.s. can you review maybe the best anime from Japan DragonBall,Z and GT.
May 31, 2011 at 9:20 am
Those still frames in the Turtle Terminator reminded me of Plumbers Don’t Wear Ties.
May 31, 2011 at 9:55 am
James! You didn’t mention Bebop’s cargo pants. Sometimes they’re camouflage other times they’re just plain as that’s easier to draw. It’s not that the animators were lazy it’s just that they were cutting corners, saving money, getting rich off kids like you and I. haha! Kudos to that!
May 31, 2011 at 9:59 am
The Turtles van, Haha! This show was just a Toy commercial really! There is something a little unwholesome about grown men who try to exploit children. That’s all this show was, fucking cash cow! 😀
May 31, 2011 at 10:07 am
Wait, wait, wait!
What was that thing at 2:00 ?
I was waiting for that to be number one.
May 31, 2011 at 10:09 am
Wasn’t those stuff fixed on DVD’s?
May 31, 2011 at 10:40 am
Great video.
Some weird errors! I too was hoping for more on that weird foreground element but I guess it speaks for itself.
May 31, 2011 at 11:07 am
@Mikko Laurinen
Maybe they lost the original footage and had to use the animatic stills for the DVD.
May 31, 2011 at 11:46 am
Must be a film-to-DVD conversion flub, they don’t make animatics with painted cels.
May 31, 2011 at 11:52 am
Great Job, James! Even as a kid I remember watching TMNT and wondering how they could have screwed some of that stuff up, at like 10 years old!
Ahh the memories!
May 31, 2011 at 11:52 am
actually, i checked out that tv rip, you know with those dutch subtitels or what ever it is, and the stills are in there to
May 31, 2011 at 12:01 pm
@Mikko Laurinen
Yeah I remember that to, weird, the rest I remember seeing but not really caring about, saw the whole, or almost since if fucked up, show a few years back. Still its great anyway ;).
May 31, 2011 at 12:01 pm
didn’t you use the scene where erma steps on shredders foot in your video about erma?
May 31, 2011 at 12:30 pm
As outright hilarious and stupid as all these animation mistakes look, I still love this show to death. That’s all I’ve got to say. 😉
May 31, 2011 at 12:59 pm
@theCount
Irma steps on peoples’ feet a lot.
May 31, 2011 at 1:17 pm
this is MOAR LIEK IT
May 31, 2011 at 1:21 pm
I guessed number two as I remember it vividly from my childhood. Glad you spotted it.
May 31, 2011 at 1:24 pm
maybe the skeleton is a marionette.
May 31, 2011 at 1:26 pm
haha totally loved it, skeleton at end was bit strange, makes no sense, I wonder if they put it in as sorta a ‘where’s waldo’ thing or something.
May 31, 2011 at 1:31 pm
Excellent video! <3 James
May 31, 2011 at 1:31 pm
okay, in your #1 that skeleton and bear are weird, but didn’t you notice that that princess must be like 7 feet tall? She’s a head taller than anyone else in the shot, including all the men!
May 31, 2011 at 1:35 pm
I really enjoyed this, James. Keep up the good work!!!
May 31, 2011 at 1:46 pm
In one of the first episodes, after the 1st fight with the Foot Clan, the heroes move to a hidden door atop a skyscraber. At the hidden door, Leonardo is already there, all stiff and then another Leonardo enters the first Leonardo and overlaps him.
It took me many re-views to notice many of the funny errors, but that one stood out like a sore thumb to me 🙂
May 31, 2011 at 1:48 pm
aaww…
I didn’t remember it right
at tmnt cartoon series review at 14:09 you show how irma steps on shredders foot, but not how he jumps in pain
soooo disregard my last comment, it was bullshit
May 31, 2011 at 2:01 pm
one of my favorite flubs that you didn’t mention is in the 3rd episode of the 1st season, Michelangelo drives what is eventually is going to be the the turtle van with the other four turtles. Donatello sticks his head in the middle of the 2 front seats and says: ” hey guys, does it occur to you how easily those mousers found Splinter?” Next, Raphael says : “So what”. after he says that, it cuts to Donatello saying: “So if there are hundreds of them now..” BUT HE HAS MICHELANGELO’S HEAD! IF that weren’t enough, at the end of the episode, April starts driving the turtles back to Baxter Stockman’s lab. But after Michelangelo talks about seeing a talking brain(Krang), it goes back to the scene where Michelanglo is driving the turtle van and donatello says in Raphael says:”i think you had one pizza too many.” Were they that lazy to recycle footage? If you are confused by what i just said, I will make a video on the flub i just explained
May 31, 2011 at 2:02 pm
Very nice top 20 turtle screwups! I love the few shots were we sill splinters being so pissed off; I though he was going to throw his cane at the TV.
May 31, 2011 at 2:03 pm

May 31, 2011 at 2:22 pm
thanks for making these videos!
May 31, 2011 at 2:37 pm
does anybody notice on the #1 turtle flub in the background u can see a billboard that says cuba? i mean thats really weird.
May 31, 2011 at 2:58 pm
LOL, my theory for number 7 is that Michelangelo is imitating the car noise.
May 31, 2011 at 3:07 pm
Good idea, James. It would be cool to see a Scooby Doo flubs too. That show had lots of screwups early on like Shaggy having the wrong color hair in certain scenes.
May 31, 2011 at 3:20 pm
I think you give the animators too much credit. A lot of these flubs, especially those still-shorts, are time and money running out.
May 31, 2011 at 3:35 pm
This video almost made my ass fall off my chair from laughter. Because it’s fucking true XD There’s a lot of flubs in other cartoons like in Super Mario Bros. 3 cartoons, Some of the Simpson episodes, and so on. This was awesome to watch!
May 31, 2011 at 3:38 pm
I don”t know why but cinemassacre’ video’s are always freaking awewome! xD
May 31, 2011 at 3:50 pm
Great top 20 my favorite one was the pissed off Splinter. lol
October 16, 2013 at 8:40 pm
Mine, too. It was just so hilarious with James’s commentary.
May 31, 2011 at 3:54 pm
in your #1 everybody has 3 fingers, like the turtles, except from the pincess
May 31, 2011 at 4:01 pm
I love Turtle Tuesdays! At 1:37 I was reminded of a TMNT VHS tape I got from Burger King when I was a kid. Years later I watched it again and noticed the same thing, nunchucks on Donatello. Not sure if this was the same episode though, I remember they were on a spaceship.
May 31, 2011 at 4:08 pm
LMFAO About shredder farting, these videos are great, keep up the good work, things like this is what keeps me coming back to this site, NOT OA.
May 31, 2011 at 4:12 pm
I’m not sure if it’s an error or not (if it is, it’s the most consistent error I’ve ever seen), but Bebop’s hair color always looked strange to me. He has a mohawk with a pony tail, but only the front is purple while the back is the same color as the rest of his body, like he only bothered to dye half of it. On his action figure, his hair is completely purple, which looks more like you’d think it would. It looks like someone screwed up on the colors on his character sheet and they’ve been doing it wrong since day 1.
Cool vid James.
May 31, 2011 at 4:24 pm
I have come to the official conclusion that the majority of the flubs were done on purpose, lol!
May 31, 2011 at 4:29 pm
How long did it take you to create create this video?
May 31, 2011 at 5:02 pm
How odd, I own the episode on VHS for the #3 mistake (turtle terminator) and the animation error you show does not occur (it is actually kinda humorous to see shredder hop on one foot ). To top it off, I do believe that the still of Irma that is seen is not actually used in the scene. (It has been awhile, I would have to watch it again, if I can even find it at this point.)
May 31, 2011 at 5:13 pm
this show has even more animation fubs then my little pony and friends. sure there where some in there but nowhere as extreme as some of these. in an episode of the glofriends there was a scene where the tree outlines in the background ended up in the foreground but most of the time it was just miss-coloration of the characters.
May 31, 2011 at 5:26 pm
I would like to see a list of the worst flubs from the G1 Transformers. As I recall, there were PLENTY of times where the Animators screwed up on that show too. Day shot, then suddenly it’s night, then back to day again, Blitzwing is speaking in somebody else’s voice, etc, etc.
May 31, 2011 at 5:32 pm
ok, i can understand little errors, but these are total screw ups. they must have been high while making some of these. even kids can notice when the colors of the turtlels are wrong or when one is speaking in another’s voice! these are totally inexcusable. what. the. heck.
May 31, 2011 at 5:43 pm
There’s been lots of animation mistakes in The Simpsons. If your curious to see a quick one, I recommend keeping an eye on Lisa’s necklace.
May 31, 2011 at 5:48 pm
Just thought of another one off the top of my head. In the show South Park in the episode “Bebe’s Boobs Destroy Society” (yes that’s what its called) When Stan asks Bebe’s mom if Bebe is home, he speaks in Kyle’s voice.
May 31, 2011 at 5:50 pm
on youtube theres a series about every mistake in this cartoon, not just animation mistakes eith, but every mistake period. overall there were almost 200 of them
May 31, 2011 at 5:53 pm
@Gunflyer
The amount of times starscream and his gang change color and voices is at least once per episode lol
May 31, 2011 at 5:55 pm
a lot of these are pretty bad mistakes but i think at least 1 or 2 of them are intentional to see if anybody will notice, i dont have any explanation for the still shots tho
May 31, 2011 at 6:30 pm
Not really an error, but my friends and I rewatched this part with April about 15 times… her crazy driving and weird expression are pretty hilarious.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I4TjXwMctmY
May 31, 2011 at 7:21 pm
You think he is going to talk about the live action turtle series on one of these turtle tuesdays
May 31, 2011 at 8:54 pm
a flub I always noticed was the episode “Attack of the 50 foot Irma”. Despite the name of the title, she is always listed throughout the episode by the turtles as being 30 feet tall, not 50.
May 31, 2011 at 9:06 pm
Just out of curiosity, are you going to do the 2003 series? I know that you didn’t grow up on it, but in your Chronologically Confused video you showed that you had all of the DVDs from it, so I think it’d be interesting to see what you thought of it compared to the original. For example, many fans of the original hate the new one because it’s “not true to the source material”, even though it’s closer to the comics. What’s your take on this, and why?
May 31, 2011 at 9:09 pm
sexy vid James!!! (i use sexy as an everyday word)
May 31, 2011 at 9:20 pm
Oh man this video is really hilarious, to finally arrive home after a day of hard work and see this video is a relief. One of the best, it’s awesome the things that you can forgive to a show when you are a kid.
May 31, 2011 at 9:25 pm
Forget the animation errors, as a kid I found the changes in the voice actors really annoying. They made it so obvious, but it’s like “they’re kids so who cares”.
May 31, 2011 at 9:38 pm
wow that was crazy, but I bet most of them were season 2 as it had so many episodes so it was the most time consuming.
May 31, 2011 at 9:55 pm
great stuff. some i have seen, some i didnt know, and some i have seen but just over looked. great stuff james.
May 31, 2011 at 10:48 pm
I always knew there were problems or mistakes in the series but I never thought there were that many
May 31, 2011 at 10:55 pm
How ironic, just a week or two ago, I watched some Youtube user’s top 250 TMNT errors.
My personal favorite fuckup is the one with the bomb that keeps changing it’s countdown time.
I think it would have been funny if in that Turtles Forever movie if they had made a running gag out out of having the 80s turtles change colors & voices.
May 31, 2011 at 11:06 pm
In #1, there’s a tuft of fur on the front of that chick’s dress that looks like a huge vagina with bush. I’m down.
May 31, 2011 at 11:33 pm
Well I think I may know what the strange bear and skelly are from…It’s the animators tribute to the Grateful Dead. Ya know, dancin’ bears and skellys…That’s all I got 🙂
May 31, 2011 at 11:45 pm
What about that camel woman just before April O’Neil in the #1 Flub or did you not notice her?
June 1, 2011 at 1:17 am
Okay, I can NOT stop laughing at seeing Splinter looking so pissed off LOL. That made my night.
June 1, 2011 at 1:30 am
Dude, I remember the Mario Bros. cartoons with errors like these. XD
June 1, 2011 at 4:33 am
Great stuff, very funny. Keep it coming James!
June 1, 2011 at 4:45 am
Nice conclusion to the TMNT review, GJ.
June 1, 2011 at 9:13 am
Also the skeleton has his eyes 🙂
Watch out raph!! Scary skeleton with eyes behind you!!
8:42 what is that strange dark object protruding from the back of Donatello’s head that the grandma behind is almost like munching on?
June 1, 2011 at 10:11 am
Hahaha. That was great. But, then again, what do you excpect from a saturday morning cartoon?
June 1, 2011 at 12:16 pm
Sharp eyes on those episodes, nice job!
June 1, 2011 at 1:57 pm
more more more more more 😀 so funny to see.
June 1, 2011 at 2:25 pm
With number 13 splinter probrably finished watching TMNT 3 and was still pissed off about it.
June 1, 2011 at 4:38 pm
@Lorfa Isn’t that Donatello’s Bo Staff?
June 1, 2011 at 4:43 pm
i lol’d so hard at the skeleton
June 1, 2011 at 4:52 pm
So many mistakes probably just because there were 4 turtles that almost looked alike 🙂
June 1, 2011 at 6:50 pm
I remember watching the Episode “The Turtle Terminator”, Flub #3
On TV the animation didn’t stop, Shredder is hopping on one leg holding the foot Urma stepped on, then it cuts to Urma saying sorry.
I haven’t watched them on DVD as I can’t find the DVD’s in Australia.
June 1, 2011 at 7:52 pm
Great job on this video! Must’ve taken a long time to do.
June 1, 2011 at 9:58 pm
Maybe the bear and the skeleton were a costumed midget and an animatronic?
June 2, 2011 at 12:38 am
I loved this, this was just hilarious!
June 2, 2011 at 4:31 am
This is funny. They made a lot of the same mistakes in the Transformers cartoon, I noticed. Not the best quality control for some cartoons back then. We still love ’em, though! 🙂
June 2, 2011 at 5:48 am
These flubs really make you wonder:
– Did they even watch their own show before they sent it out to air? Was there no quality control back then?
– Are some of these mistakes intentional? Some of those errors are so obvious that you might think they were intentionally added by the animators just to screw with the audience.
– What was the budget for this show? The show was highly successful and made a shitzillion dollars, so why did the animators make mistakes that a student taking weekend-animation courses makes?
Anyway, good job noticing these flubs. This is one aspect that made TMNT so great back in the day. You don’t find those things in modern animated TV shows anymore.
June 2, 2011 at 9:32 am
my favourite fail is in return of the technodrome when donatello has a pick bandana for ages at the start
June 2, 2011 at 10:09 am
To Numer 12
HE TAUNTED ME :P, i gonna cut that finger with Dragon(Turtle)Slayer and rise my fallen honor 😀
June 2, 2011 at 12:50 pm
Rofl
June 2, 2011 at 12:50 pm
I think the reason master splinter was pissed was because of sexual frustration … April wouldn’t let him tap the day before.. and when they started shooting the episode .. He was still fuming … HAHAHAHA
