I’ve never heard of this movie, and I can see why. Great review!
April 29, 2011 at 5:24 pm
I’ve never heard of this movie. If I saw this as a kid I would probably like it for all the lame reasons I like Yor Hunter From the Future. Good find!
April 29, 2011 at 6:20 pm
come on, why can’t you have the video review here on Cinemassacre like your other videos?
April 29, 2011 at 6:26 pm
PLZ GIVE ME THE URL FOR THE BOOBY SHOT IN THE MOVIE!!!
April 29, 2011 at 6:30 pm
lol i just randomly refreshed this page and suddenly, this review is up. coincidence? i think not…
April 29, 2011 at 6:34 pm
lol is it Corman’s?
April 29, 2011 at 7:40 pm
Wow…now that is some SUPER CACA DOO DOO SHIT! 😮
It sounds like the hooter scene was the movies only redeeming quality – but I understand that you can’t show it here. But at least give us a hint – Bs, Cs or Ds? ^_^
April 29, 2011 at 7:42 pm
Another great review – you must really love this shit, otherwise I don’t know how you can watch such terrible films. 😀
On a side note, how about having that favicon back? My RSS could really use it.
April 29, 2011 at 8:54 pm
Great review. I love it when you do reviews of obscure movies I’ve never heard of. One thing I did notice is that “bucket head freak” looks like a pretty blatant Monty Python Ripoff.
April 29, 2011 at 9:37 pm
You talk about how derivative this movie is. I saw that cover and thought it was a Neverending Story knockoff.
April 29, 2011 at 10:13 pm
Good thing I was re-watching the Deathstalker review that you re-posted before watching this. Man, are you creating a time paradox?
April 30, 2011 at 2:48 am
Seeing as how Deathstalker 3 was featured in MST3K, this movie would have fit right in as well. Funny how you never mention the MST3K episodes… oh well.
April 30, 2011 at 3:01 am
I’ll just leave this here

No player, just white!
April 30, 2011 at 9:52 am
Good review, James. I have to say that I would rather take a dump on my own chest than watch this movie. Thanks for posting.
April 30, 2011 at 9:53 am
I like how you can show a guy get stabbed in the neck, but have to censer some boobs. Bosoms bad, stabbed necks good. Is that the lesson here?
April 30, 2011 at 10:04 am
Not that these reviews of shitty obscure films aren’t interesting or entertaining, because they are, but I prefer it when you review AWESOME obscure movies that I want to see after I’ve watched your review that I otherwise would never have heard of, like RoboGeisha.
I’d like to see you review some really cool old movies like Class Of 1984, Dark Star, Freaked, The Toxic Avenger, Story Of Ricky/Riki-Oh, Suspiria, Flesh Gordon, Tesis and The Mechanic.
April 30, 2011 at 10:39 am
Decent review, but angry videos games are what you did best, I don’t care much for movies I have 1.) Never heard of, 2.) Never saw, 3.) Never will see & 4.) Flat out don’t care.

The whole thing is on youtube, if anyone is interested: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o2LxBtNivQY and related.

James, did u actually look for the vhs? lol I was readind the Deathstalker’s comments and this guy Eli Drikx said:
“Well, after seeing this review, here’s one I recommend to you peeps:
‘Wizards of the Lost Kingdom’, if you can find it on VHS.
No DVD release as far as I’m aware.
It’s about…well…I have no idea.
It’s about this young man who decides to fight against an evil sorcerer because this sorcerer requires a magic ring to dominate the kingdom he already conquered.
That, and half-second mermaid nudity, recycled random footage, undead warriors who come out of their grave and disappear a few seconds later..I think you might be interested.”
That guy was one step ahead of you. what a cool coincidence!
ps: Eli Dirkx u rock man!

An interesting fact for you, James, and another Deathstalker connection – the masked swordsman who attacks Simon is played by an uncredited Richard Brooker, who played Deathstalkers sidekick Ohgris.
He also played Jason Voorhees in Friday 13th part 3, which is something you may be interested in as a fan of that franchise.

What was the name of the white bear again? Gofucks?
May 1, 2011 at 7:47 am
I remember this movie from when I was a kid. Looking back, it did suck monkey balls.
May 1, 2011 at 9:19 am
I would think recycled footage to be illegal. But since so many crappy movies do it, I guess it’s not? Hmmm.
May 1, 2011 at 9:21 am
i loved this movie when i was a kid i must have rented the vhs tape 100 times from my local vidoe store. When they went out of bussiness they let me have the movie for a $1.00. Long live the 80’s fantasy movies!!!!!!
May 1, 2011 at 3:29 pm
This movie is truly a piece of dog s***. Thanks for the review, very funny and entertaining. I doubt I’ll ever see this movie. Footage in this review was more than enough for me.
May 1, 2011 at 9:46 pm
What kind of release would this thing have received? where do you find this stuff?
Some of the themes in here remind me of Time Bandits. I hear they are working on a new version of it. Watching Time Bandits in the theater as a kid left me trying to push the wall in the bedroom for years after.
Would love to see you review Time Bandits. maybe toss it in with Jabberwocky or something Python, many possible streams.

Do you want to know the title of a movie which really sucks monkey balls?!?
In Japan it was released as Jaws 5, but in the rest of the world the only thing you know about it is that this movie is shit!!!
It’s a mixture between all the jaws movies, the “last shark”(from which are recicled a lot of scenes) and last but not least “Jurassic Park”. Yeah, Jurassic Park…they used some dialogue from it too…
Anyone know this movie?!? 😉

If you do a search within Google Images for “Wizards of the Lost Kingdom” it tells you that a related search is “Return of the Jedi”

I never realized that this movie was comprised of shots from so many other films, now I want to go back and see those as well. You missed several RIDICULOUS things in this though. The white fuzzy chewbacca thing, when It walks you can see the actor’s shoes underneath his feet. Also, when the Cyclops talks, you can see the actors lips inside the mouth of the mask.
My favorite part of this movie as a kid, is when Cor is jumping into the water to save someone, and it looks like he is going to dive at first, but at the last minute he sticks his legs out in front of him. It looks SO awkward! and at the same time AMAZING!! My friends and I must have watched and rewound that scene 50+ times, then we would try to act it out, jumping off of stuff outside, and we could never get it to look that bizarre.
I’m glad that you reviewed this, it really is worthy of a cinemassacre. For anyone who hasn’t seen it, it’s worth watching if you love really poorly made fantasy films.

Wow! They stole the bat-lion vs. mexican-lady-head duel from Sorceress! My buddy and I did a review of that film here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=de5CnIWRdSI
Check it out!

I remember seeing this movie on the shelf at the video store countless times and NEVER wanting to rent it.

I just watched this movie. It isn’t the worst bad movie. It’s cheezy as fuck. But don’t you find it slightly endearing? Glitter Helmet cyclops? Singing to ghosts? pointed hated dwarves? c’mon it’s cute! I just reviewed it as well. PRO MOTE!
