Super Mario 64 Tricks and Glitches

There is actually one glitch I'm surprised he didn't show off, and a rather easy one to do. Go to the desert land inside the wall in the basement area without a painting on it, get the wing cap in the level, then go to the cannon on the set of pathways crossing the death-sand. If you go inside the cannon and then shoot yourself straight upwards, you'll fall back down to the ground hard and lose some life but slide back into the cannon at the same time. Keep doing this until Mario loses all his energy but still slides back into the cannon. Then fire him off wherever you please! You'll be flying around dead! That's right, you'll be a flying zombie Mario! As soon as you land though, Mario dies for real. But it's sure fun while it lasts.

Haha, love the stairs glitch. Beating the game at it's own game by going up the stairs faster than it can render them in front(or behind) you. Fuggin' sweet!

Love those glitch video and the unaugitated way in which you're presenting them.

I remember working out the 'jump through the wall' thing after I found yoshi at the end of the game. I jumped through the roof and ended up on the inside of the main entrance to the castle. But when I used the door I would always be stuck on the wrong side! Brings back memories

Best line -- "It's-ah me! I'm a fuckin' cheater!" Closely followed by, "Thanks, asshole!" Mike cracks me up.

In Wet-Dry World, go to the cannon and look to the left until you see a picture of the sun. Aim all the way up and line the up and down arrows with the sun ray going straight up. Fire. Keep doing this, eventually your health bar will be at zero, but you'll just keep going and going until you shoot somewhere else.

so I guess these dont work on the DS version? :/

There are a ton of glitches in Mario 64, most likely because of the jump in hardware. Anyway, this was awesome. Glitches are some of the best secrets in video games, so I really love these video's you've been doing with them. Would be cool to see a sequel to this particular one with more, and maybe even a part three considering how many glitches have been documented in this game. Whatever does come next, I'm sure it'll be awesome like the rest.

Hey Mike and or James. I recently bought a nintendo 64 and I was wondering if you guys had any extra n64 games lying around that u guys can possibly give to me because my parents refuse to buy them from amazon or eebay or any online crap. I know this is a stupid question the n64 came with Pokemon Stadium Super Smash Bros Melee and thats about it. I am a really big fan of Legend of zelda games and star fox. And i have one request for the nerd to do. A episode about the Super Smash Bros Trilogy Super Smash Bros 64, Super Smash Bros Melee, and last but not least Super Smash Bros Brawl. I think im speaking for lots of fans by saying your opinion on the series about how its progressed and its flaws and improvements. And maybe do like once a week segments on reading tweets and emails nothing big just reading stuff that people wanna say to you advice or just request. Thanks for reading this if you guys did.

Nice. I found all of those out for myself except for the bobomb exploding in the air one. Here are a few more glitches that I found. In the desert, get in the cannon guarded by the rotating whomps that try to crush you and aim all the way up and to the left. Then launch yourself and if you have low enough health, you will hit the ground and die, then fall back into the cannon. Then you can fly around with zero health until you touch the ground. Another glitch is n bobomb battlefield. Throw a bobomb at chain chomp to make him look up in the air. Then stomp on his stump for the 3rd time and he will remain looking up when he breaks free. Another one in bobomb battlefield is the craziest one. Pick up a bobomb and throw it. If you catch it at the exact right moment before it hits the ground, it won't explode and will expand in size. Then you can do some real crazy shit. It seems like something different happens every time. Last one- outside the castle, get the wingcap and fly into the highest tower of the castle. If done properly, Mario will fall through the castle and get stuck inside. You can then exit the front door of the castle from inside to leave.

And anyway that glitch is apparently done by doing yet another backwards long jump.

@heusks Yeah one of my all time favorite glitches too haha. Also, I think it is possible to avoid getting that star--I'm pretty sure I've seen it done before it has something to do with using MIPS the rabbit but I forget how. Guarentee if you YouTube it you'll come up with it.

Also, @heusks What about the 1 star in Dire Dire Docks to reveal the bowser level? I've never seen a speedrun avoid that one.

Awesome stuff!! Lots of glitches in then N64 games haha. But you did forget the infamous one where you get 120 stars then grab the wing cap on top of the castle, get back in the cannon, and shoot yourself up to the highest point on the castle's tower possible. Once you land, try running up the side of the tower, and you'll fall through all the way into the main lobby area, only it will be all glitched and fucked up. I used to show that one off to everyone all the time haha.
