Super Mario Bros Super Show DVD Menu Screen Review

James / April 1st, 2011

Watch this video on YouTube

Mike and James take a look at the absurd menu screen on the Super Mario Bros Super Show, “Mario’s Greatest Movie Moments” DVD.

NOTE: Anyone who has watched Inspector Gadget as a kid, remembers the famous “DIC” logo. How could you forget a name like that? So yes, we all know that DIC is the same company that produced the Super Mario Bros Super Show, but that does not explain why Inspector Gadget belongs on the menu screen!

I take it back, this isn’t a good review. It’s a fantastic review. Simply hilarious.

Inspector Gadget is such a fucking dick.

For the love of God, do more of these. Just watching you and Mike make of of stuff is hilarious. This made my week.

    April 1, 2011 at 12:20 pm

    fun of, not of of

  • April 1, 2011 at 12:22 pm

Lol, beard James. Funniest over analytical attack on a DVD menu. Great stuff guys.

  • April 1, 2011 at 12:23 pm

And here is the review as you promised.
Thanks for the video guys, it was hilarious!

I’m doomed to never see Inspector Gadget again in my life without “buttons” and ‘move the glow” quotes playing in my head :P

  • allanf

    April 1, 2011 at 12:26 pm

    That was a fun video.

And in case anyone did NOT know this, Inspector Gadget was probably the most popular cartoon by DIC. Most likely he’s featured on all DIC home DVDs from that year.

That doesn’t mean James and Mike are wrong in their confusion about his prominence. He takes up most of the screen!

    April 1, 2011 at 12:30 pm

It’s a dvd made for 4 year olds lol, what do you expect.

  • April 1, 2011 at 12:32 pm

wow, that menu was tedius. Video is sooo worth watching for the last minute of Don Adams impressions. Wonderful!

  • April 1, 2011 at 12:41 pm

Dude, this was hilarious. I love these sort of candid videos you and Mike do. I’d love to see more of this kind of stuff.

  • katnissen

    April 1, 2011 at 12:43 pm

I will never be able to say “button” again, without bursting in laughter xD

  • April 1, 2011 at 12:46 pm

I think Gadget is on the DVD because Inspector Gadget was also made by DiC. Also, his voice-actor was a guest star in one of the live action segments.

  • Bick Benedict

    April 1, 2011 at 12:48 pm

    man this was so great.

  • April 1, 2011 at 12:52 pm

LOL This was the by far the best out-of-character review video you guys have ever done. Killer job mike and james!

Also, love to see the stache coming back!

  • April 1, 2011 at 12:53 pm

    Brilliant :)

  • DianaGohan

    April 1, 2011 at 1:04 pm

Actually not only was the voice actor of Inspector Gadget on but also the “actual” live action Inspector Gadget (and no not Matthew Broderick either) in one of the life action segments of the show. Of course I only know that becuase Nostalgia Critic reviewed the show and yeah it didn’t exactly age very well. Still if they have INpsector Gadget on the DVD at least have the freaking live action segment he comes from in the Super Mario Brothers Super Show as to actually give a reason why he’s on the DVD. Freaking idiot DICs.

  • April 1, 2011 at 1:07 pm

Hilarious review guys! Simply brilliant. I was laughing my ass off.

  • April 1, 2011 at 1:09 pm

Wait, how was I supposed to figure out how to start the Inspector Gadget help if I don’t always know about the arrow keys, BUTTONs, and “glow”???

  • April 1, 2011 at 1:10 pm

Oh my god, I was crying from laughing so much. I loved the ending with the Inspector Gadget insults. I could watch something like that all day, hahaha.

James, I dare you to bring Shit Pickle as the DVD Menu guide for the next AVGN DVD!!!

    “Pickle pickle, shiiiiiiiiiiiiiit pickle!”

And then you add subtitles to what he’s actually saying, which was “Press the Select or Action BUTTON!”

Nice one! i love crazy DVD menu screens, they’re better than the actual movie sometimes

  • April 1, 2011 at 2:17 pm

What a crazy DVD menu! I love this video. Somehow it feels like Eric Cartman and some other characters from South Park are reviewing the DVD.

  • Rust In Peace

    April 1, 2011 at 2:24 pm

Funniest review you guys ever did, so far.

    April 1, 2011 at 2:25 pm

Wow, I never had the idea of watching these alternative reviews… jeez, that was great! I laughed very much seeing you and Mike make fun of that absurd DVD menu, totally reminds me of how myself and my friends also doing that.

    Great video!

  • April 1, 2011 at 2:36 pm

This is one of the funniest things I’ve seen in a long time! Love it!
That menu is waay fucked up.

    April 1, 2011 at 2:41 pm

Happy April 1st James and Mike

  • April 1, 2011 at 2:45 pm

so now that i’ve seen American Movie like a hundred times, I’m starting to notice you quote that movie in like..everything you do. Like I can’t escape it.

That DVD is fucking ridiculous. Goddamn condescending Inspector Gadget!

  • drev

    April 1, 2011 at 2:49 pm

I did not laugh like this since a while, thanks.

You got to have a shit like that in your next AVGN DVD menu

Speaking of thinks that as no connection with the content, James, you look cool with the beard.

  • darkknightdetec

    April 1, 2011 at 2:49 pm

The funniest part is that you actually have to navigate “the glow” over to Inspector Gadget and press the enter button for him to explain to you how to move the “glow” and press the enter button. How stupid is that?

  • ajgenard

    April 1, 2011 at 2:54 pm

Yeah in retrospective the whole setup is hilariously ludicrous. But being a new format at the time for most people it probably seemed overwhelmingly complicated once they saw the movie didn’t start right up like VHS or LD did.

Also DIC probably assumed its small children who watch cartoons so that would make matters worse. Probably never occured to them that its mainly adults like us who watch this LOL. And I’d be willing to bet that DIC used Inspector Gadget as this “assistant” for all their cartoon DVDs at the time.

Just some thoughts. Keep up the awesome work guys!

  • April 1, 2011 at 3:03 pm

Your funny comments about the fact that there is help on the new DVD features reminds me. I have a box of the first pencils to come with erasers on the back end, and the box comes with instructions on how to use a pencil with an eraser on it, since before then, all erasers were separate.

  • April 1, 2011 at 3:09 pm

That was the first time I ever got caught at work watching a vid, the laughing gave it away!! haha some kind of magical Mike and james
You guys really do make a killer duo!

  • scronan

    April 1, 2011 at 3:12 pm

That was great…especially the last part which had me laughing my ass off! I had totally forgotten about the company DIC which used to play at the end of some of those shows. Man did I ever get in trouble with the folks so many times for yelling “DICK!!!!” whenever I saw that logo. Quite possibly the worst idea for a company name of a kids show that I know of. ^_^

  • April 1, 2011 at 3:20 pm

This was HILARIOUS! Putting Gadget over your faces at the end was priceless.

I agree with the other guy who said you should have shit pickle as a guide on the next nerd DVD. That’d be great! And if you click him with your DVD BUTTON, it links you to this bonus review.

  • April 1, 2011 at 3:37 pm

I am begging you to PLEASE put inspector gadget in the next nerd DVD menu. OMG I would buy seven copies. And a quiz with gadget where he insults you like you guys were talking about.

  • Pestige

    April 1, 2011 at 3:47 pm

I was hoping you guys were going to do this.

  • LordPindar

    April 1, 2011 at 3:57 pm

Could be wors, Man-at-arms could be explaining it… and telling you the moral. “The Glow” should be the name of a horror movie

  • April 1, 2011 at 4:01 pm

How many times does Gadget say “Button”? lol

The “Glow” was cracking me up too.

Seriously this was one of the funniest videos you guys have done in awhile. Great job.

This kind of “guide” wasn’t entirely uncommon in the early days of the mass adoption of dvd. The first Snow White dvd has the magic mirror guide you through operating the menu. It also makes the occasional snide remark.

  • April 1, 2011 at 5:31 pm

    April 1, 2011 at 6:01 pm

I see that you kept your word on reviewing this DVD from your DVD collection video.

  • April 1, 2011 at 7:23 pm

For what itis worth. DiC, apparently, made both Inspector Gadget and the Super Mario Brothers show so that’s why they’re using inspector gadget, not that it makes any more sense for them to use IG on the Mario Brothers DVD. And the DiC logo wasn’t pointed out for the heck of it it was a button too.

  • curtisalanmcgee

    April 1, 2011 at 8:58 pm

It seems pretty obvious that the menu was intended to be used with multiple shows. That’s why Gadget doesn’t ever mention what show is on the disc by name. This way, they could re-use the same menu over and over, and just change the individual graphics for whatever show is on the disc. A good idea if you are trying to make really cheap DVDs. A bad idea if you are trying to make quality DVDs.

  • Joshi

    April 1, 2011 at 9:28 pm

Nah, they’re not telling you that stuff because they think you’re idiots. Although if you can’t figure out why they did what they did, you probably are.

The show is a cartoon, made for kids. Like, wee tiny ones. It’s kind of impossible to underestimate the intelligence of your audience when the lower bound includes “hasn’t developed object permanence yet”. Some people watching that really might need some of that shit explained to them.

It was Inspector Gadget because, uhduh, DiC owns Gadget, and they wanted to use a fairly recognisable character that they could just slap into any DVD as the help feature. They certainly weren’t going to pay Nintendo for the rights to animate and voice Mario to have him do that shit, pay SEGA to do the same for Sonic in his DVDs, etc. Instead, they’re going to use someone they ALREADY have the rights to in EVERY DVD.

    Duhhhhhhh.

  • April 1, 2011 at 9:39 pm

my god what a gem this video is. i guess this video proves it once and for all, that it doesn’t even have to be a game just anything interesting with you and mike’s perspective is so fun and entertaining. and way less work for to make them. should be a regular thing you and mike reviewing various dvds

  • April 1, 2011 at 10:38 pm

geezus, i laffed myself to tears with this. Thank you guys!

  • April 1, 2011 at 11:10 pm

Inspector Gadget was in one of the Super Mario Bros episodes. He was in a few live action sequences and Mario and Luigi had to fix him with spare parts from Home Depot or some shit. The video is on Youtube. This is just some silly cross promotion.

  • GreyFox

    April 1, 2011 at 11:17 pm

    So funny

    April 2, 2011 at 1:13 am

O man. LOL. Awesome. You know, Don Adams (the lead role in Get Smart and Inspector Gadget) had a very distinctive voice, and this sounded NOTHING like it. It sounded more like David Lynch, right down to the excessively stating the obvious for too long, but also hints of Lois Griffin! The Glow?? Like, the Last Dragon? If you have the glow, you are a master ninja. You can probably operate a DVD at this point. You still can’t beat Ninja Gaiden, tho.

  • April 2, 2011 at 1:13 am

BUTTON! man that was funny, thanks guys!

  • April 2, 2011 at 1:32 am

wow i can’t believe someone spent the time to create this inspector gadget help guide. like james said you couldn’t even get to it the help unless you already knew how to use the arrows in the first place. that is funny to me. and it make you wonder how many of dic’s dvd’s got this treatment…. i like how languages has one language, english. but the impersonation did it for me. use the glow! i couldn’t stop laughing at the end.

  • Lucifer13

    April 2, 2011 at 4:18 am

I also wonder how many lawsuits they would have had if they had incorporated many of Mario’s trademark moves to “The Mario” instead of just basic walking movements.

Head bunting brick walls, believing oneself to be invincible with star power, eating mushrooms, throwing fire balls, going down or in sewage pipes, jump on turtles, sliding down flag poles, being reckless with your life knowing that if you die you have back-up lives…… and so on. Oh and not forgetting obsessively (stocker-ishly braking into privet castle property) chasing after princesses.

  • April 2, 2011 at 4:37 am

Long winded Gadget is always on duty. “When you got that Glow!”

  • Emil

    April 2, 2011 at 4:42 am

You have GOT to have such a DVD menu on your future releases of AVGN!

  • April 2, 2011 at 5:14 am

That was pretty amazing. I think they probably asked the producer’s 90 year old grandmother to try and use the DVD, only to find her incapable. She was also racist against Italians, and didn’t like being told what to do by them. Inspector Gadget was the only other available option.

  • April 2, 2011 at 6:03 am

Ok, so there’s no Inspector Gadget anywhere else on that DVD, but saying that Gadget has nothing to do with Mario is actually wrong: he had been one of the guest characters in the live sections, namely in the Defective Gadgetry episode! Check it out!
Anyway I’m quite sure that cameo has nothing to do with this menu… They probably just wanted to do this help guide and used their most famous character.

  • Dece80

    April 2, 2011 at 7:00 am

Judging from how unspecific Gadget was (he never mentions the name of the show) I would assume that this menu was created for multiple DiC DVDs, and not just this one.

    There, mystery solved.
    Funny video though.

  • April 2, 2011 at 7:22 am

My guess is that, like James said, this DVD was one of DiC’s earlier releases and it was made on the cheap with a repurposed IG DVD menu with the SMB Super Show logos shopped in. The Quiz is probably what they spent most of their effort on, and even then they likely just replaced IG episode pics and questions for Super Show ones. As for the Help, I’m thinking they probably expected like very little kids to be using it without parent supervision, maybe?

  • April 2, 2011 at 7:29 am

Is the Gadget April Fools!? Did James and Mike CGI him in?

    April 2, 2011 at 11:51 am

This low-production commentary from James and Mike is better than Overanalyzers episode 1.

This is funnier and more natural sounding and looking.
The off-the-cuff humor is used effectively and believably here, unlike that found in OA.
Even the cuts between showing the clips and showing the guys was easy to watch here, but distracting and annoying in OA.

For those of you who read the comments, do you agree with any of my sentiments?

  • DawnOfRobby

    April 2, 2011 at 12:24 pm

I agree with Drunkmun. The video did have a Beavis and Butthead feel about it. Which can only mean that the video was epic.

k.. here’s my educated guesses to your complaints about this children’s dvd

    a. the inspector gadget franchise is owned by DIC. so they got to use him for free.
    b. they used him because inspector gadget is good with gadgets n shit, like DVDs.
    c. he gives an exhaustive explanation of how to use the dvd menu system because when this dvd was released, dvd systems were new technology and quite different from vhs. also the intended audience is dumb children (as opposed to stoned adults in this case), so a lot of explanation is necessary.

  • April 2, 2011 at 1:29 pm

That was hilarious and I can’t believe the DVD. And I don’t know why Inspector Gadget is in it either. But why he’s explaining how the DVD works must be because this DVD is for kids to learn how to use the DVD I guess. Just watch the Nostalgia Critic’s episode on this and even he says it is for kids.

  • April 2, 2011 at 1:42 pm

lolol I have this DVD. It reeked with the info, like how dumb do you think we are, Inspector? :3

  • April 2, 2011 at 2:01 pm

    This is fucking fantastic.

  • April 2, 2011 at 2:04 pm

    April 2, 2011 at 2:20 pm

I really enjoy watching your comedy James, especially when you and Mike are together. This is raw humor at its finest.

You would think that DiC would have used “Highlight” instead of “Glow” considering the amount of times it is referenced.

You two are awesome flavoed liquid win.

  • Nileman234

    April 2, 2011 at 3:14 pm

How come in AVGN your beard is gone but in regular videos you have it why do you shave in avgn and why don’t you shave in regular videos?

  • Butch Bitch

    April 2, 2011 at 3:20 pm

@Nileman234- James just wants to show off his manliness. Plus, it might be a way for him to prove to others that AVGN is just a character.

  • Bryal

    April 2, 2011 at 3:39 pm

I think Overanalyzers epsiode 2 took the favor for alot of fans. ;) Took away everything but you and mike talking about something random. It was funnier, but you should keep fine tuning with the original cast for sure.

Hi James! From Italy i say to you: “THIS WAS FUCKING AWSOME!”

Use the arrow buttons to inspect inspector gadgets pants to find the bonus material. Now move the glow to the dic logo in my pants and start pressing the button, keep pressing the button until a liquid comes out of the dic logo. You’ve successfully unlocked the bonus materials, way to go!

  • April 2, 2011 at 4:09 pm

The only reason I could see why Inspector Gadget would be on the DVD is because they are both DIC shows. It could have been a way to market their other shows.

  • GuyFromTheNorth

    April 2, 2011 at 6:12 pm

Don’t get me wrong guys, decent video. The only problem I had is this isn’t an AVGN video. I tune in to see James’ character the AVGN tear apart games. I laugh, I cry, I remember my hatred for those games. This should be more of a side movie we could watch and laugh, or an extra. It’s not enough of an AVGN movie to warrant waiting a month for it.

It’s like tuning into Seinfeld and instead of the show you are tuning in to watch it’s Seinfeld doing his standup act for 30mins. His act is great and all, but we’re tuning in for the Seinfeld character on the show itself. Keep up the hard work and have a good one.

How dumb did they think kids were.

  • April 2, 2011 at 9:54 pm

That was by far one of the funniest videos that has ever graced Cinemassacre! By the end I was laughing so hard I began to cry…hilarious stuff James and Mike.

    April 2, 2011 at 11:48 pm

Inspector Gadget can be explained a bit… some specially marked cereal boxes (I forget which cereal, I think it was General Mills Cereals) came with a promotional DVD with Inspector Gadget, The Super Mario Brothers Super Show, Heathcliff and Gadget boy. All of these were produced by DiC, sure, but I think it was when they were all together like this as a promotional offer in these cereals is what caused the birth-child of that dvd. I think the cereal dvd’s were to promote the dvd you have…

  • mosaic.wav

    April 2, 2011 at 11:49 pm

That has got to be the strangest menu screen I’ve ever seen. Even assuming that it was released when DVDs were still new and that this show was targeted at children, it’s over explaining it and why wasn’t it a character from the actual show explaining it? Also, the live-action skits were some of my favourites, so it’s disappointing to hear they weren’t on it.

Cool little video, though, the two of you work really well together. Little casual videos like this are really nice. They have a good, light-hearted feel and don’t take long to digest. Nice work.

  • Mark Jones

    April 3, 2011 at 12:17 am

The reason Inspector is on the DVD is that “DiC” Had a Inspector gadget Cartoon a 1980s and 1990s I think,But yea. they fucked up.

  • April 3, 2011 at 1:29 pm

DiC when this DVD came out (and probably still are) was using Gadget as their mascot and spokesman (they released tons of horrible Gadget spinoff shows in the late 90s and early 2000s). Since they produced both shows its not a huge stretch. The Mario and Luigi art in the top left corner is the same style they were applying to all of their properties around the time on their website and DVD releases.

I bet if you found a Littles or some other DiC property DVD from the same time it would have a similar DVD menu.

  • Zeea

    April 3, 2011 at 9:15 pm

Nerd time! I watched this show religiously when I was a kid.

Inspector Gadget was actually in one of the live action segments of the show. The Mario brothers “repaired” him, but they couldn’t find any good gadgets, so they just threw in a lot of stuff from a novelty shop, and he accuses them of working for Dr. Claw. But I don’t think it was one of the episodes on that DVD.

I noticed that one of the triva questions you guys answered referred to an episode that wasn’t actually on the DVD, unless that list you showed was a partial list. That’s messed up. Also, DIC leaving out the live action scenes is blasphemy against the gods of the Mushroom Kingdom.

  • TerragonSix

Hilarious episode. Keep these up. They are fresh, I can tell you enjoy them, Mike gets more screen time. THIS should have been the over analyzers! In fact I thought that this would be what the over analyzers was like. You know, taking a small little issue like a DVD menu screen and using it as a springboard for cynical humor, the kind our generation is so good at! You know the seen in clerks when they talk about the death star? Thats what I though the over analyzers would be like.I can tell AVGN is getting to be a bit of a chore, so mix it up a bit. It seemed like you guys had a blast making this, and I had a blast watching it. Please sir, may I have some more?

Hey james, I have a dvd by DIC and it looks that inspector gadget is their mascot for some reason, he is also in the menu but in the extras section not in the main one. Insane.

  • April 4, 2011 at 2:52 pm

A lot (if not all) of the DIC DVDs have Gadget (being the DIC mascot) on them explaining everything as the intended audience was/is children, so he explains how to do everything based on that audience.

Gadget needs TP for his button glow

  • April 4, 2011 at 4:24 pm

    @ Daeymien:

Yeah. I checked it up. DIC Entertainment had the Inspector Gadget TV-series 1983-1986. They also produced the 1999 Inspector Gadget movie. He was probably their main franchise back then. DIC Entertainment was later (2008) defunct and merged into Cockie Jar Productions.

  • April 4, 2011 at 5:53 pm

Funny enough was on the bog reading an article about 80′s/90′s DIC animations and there history those guys made all the best shit the likes of Captin N, Sonic Series, Gadet & Zelda. Hence the 2 randon Zelda episodes on the Dvd and gadget pointing out that DIC logo ! ).

There was actually one episode where the live actors received Inspector Gadget as a special guest. Still isn’t relevant enough to put the guy in the DVD menu anyway.
And MAN was that FUNNY mouahahaha

  • s.u.p-e-rc.ai.n

    April 6, 2011 at 2:08 am

Stupidest DVD menu ever. I think they used Inspector Gadget instead of Mario because Lou Albano is already dead, so they didnt have him to provide the voice for Mario and they thought it would have been very odd to have another person do the voice for Mario on the same DVD, but i say if the reason was they didnt have the original voice then DONT VOICE the fucking menu at all, you dont need it! having Inspector Gadget give the instructions for using a Mario Bros DVD menu is like having Batman on the cover of a Superman DVD box, its just doesnt make any sense.

  • April 9, 2011 at 1:55 am

Perhaps Gadget is some sort of official mascot/ambassador/representative for DiC, since his cartoons were made by them and he’s very well known. Are there are other DVD sets for DiC cartoons that include Gadget as the official DVD assistant? His commentary seems pretty vague and generic at would easily be put onto any DVD. Overall, the whole menu should be hauled away as garbage.

  • HaveYouSeenThisBoy

    April 9, 2011 at 2:07 pm

Need more of these videos with you guys on the couch – your chemistry is unreal. Hey James by any chance do you have a VHS Maxell head cleaner? With the logo of the guy sitting in the big chair getting blown away by the sound vibrations? Just a though…

  • paulisdead

    April 10, 2011 at 3:39 am

(@ s.u.p-e-rc.ai.n)… That would make sense. However, DiC seemed to have no problems replacing Don Adams’ voice for Inspector Gadget. Thinks it’s more what ‘Matthew Luongo’ says and that DiC must be using Gadget as their own official mascot.

I think the whole menu must have been made for VERY young childern. But even my 4 year old nephew can operate a DVD. The disc was release in 2002, which is when the late comers of DVD were getting players and they were stopping production on VHS. I’m guessing this just a relic of the early DVD age.

You guys must be baked in this video. …I mean, most of it is funny and all, but I don’t really get what’s so hilarious about persistently making fun of Inspector Gadget’s voice the whole time, other than the fact that it’s an exceedingly inferior imitation of Don Adams’ original voicing of the character. Beyond that, the dude is clearly trying to imitate the way Adams’ really spoke when doing his Inspector Gadget voice. …To me, it’s just too well known to be all enthralled about the goofy way he says words like “button,” as if you’re hearing the silly voice of Inspector Gadget for the first time in your life.

…Be honest…you cropped out the pot brownies on the table beside you guys, didn’t you? :)

I don’t know for sure but I’m guessing that Inspector Gadget was a template for several DVDs released by DIC. Notice he never references the Super Mario Brothers show by name, he only says ‘episode’, or ‘feature’.

The end had me crying I was laughing so hard. :)

  • July 31, 2011 at 7:13 am

So how about when you click on the Dic logo? it said that was a button to play previews, so click it…I want to see if Inspector asshole has a comment about it.

  • September 3, 2011 at 2:06 am

Okay, I do agree that this is totally ridiculous, but I do think that this was created, not only for the uninformed, but mostly for children to be able to figure out how to work the DVD, since they were they primary audience.

Okay, going through this video. I had a good chuckle. But the end, I had to try REALLY hard not to laugh out loud because I have family sleeping right now. The fact you added in Gadget’s image was what really made the magic at the end.

What do you do if you’re deaf? How are you possibly going to figure out how to activate Engish subtitles? Are there subtitles for Gadget? Maybe I’m overanalyzing this.

James and Mike made me laugh when you make fun of Inspector Gadget. Move the Glaow to the main menu of the DVD by pressing the main menu button. Press the play button to play the movie. I know how to use a DVD. I love when they make impression of Inspector Gadget by saying funny

I feel like my world has become like going inside John Malkovich’s head, but instead of everyone saying “Malkovich Malkovich” all I hear is “BUTTON, BUTTON! BUTTON BUTTON BUTTON!”

I feel like my world has become like going inside John Malkovich’s head, but instead of everyone saying “Malkovich Malkovich” all I hear is “BUTTON, BUTTON! BUTTON BUTTON BUTTON!”

My favorite part was when James pointed out that to, in fact, hear the instructions on how to use the menu, one must first know how to use the menu. Good job DiC think tank.

This clip is one of your best! After over a year, it still cracks me up. Mike’s impersonation of Inspector Gadget is spot on.

“Move the glowwww from my ass check to my asshole, and there you will find…the Main Menu.”

Classic. Thanks guys for the laughs.

You know what Inspector Gadget’s favorite movie is? The Curious Case of Benjamin BUTTON! lol

  • Senna4ever

    May 21, 2012 at 10:03 am

    Button!

The reason Gadget is on the menus as it’s just a standard “help”.
He’s on the IG DVDs…which makes sense. But there was no point in making new animation just for Mario, so they reused Gadget instead.
He’s probably on other DiC DVDs too.

If I’m to be COMPLETELY Honest, this was THE video that convinced me to check out Cinemassacre in all my years of being a Nerd fan…

And yes, I do believe Gadget would enjoy a fine game of “BUTTON, BUTTON, WHOSE GOT THE BUTTON”…

  • July 23, 2013 at 5:55 pm

I had to come back and watch this. One of the funniest “On the fly” videos you guys have ever done. I guess they used Gadget because he was DIC’s most recognizable character. Not that it makes any more sense that way, but I guess that was their reasoning lol.

    • July 23, 2013 at 6:15 pm

I wonder how much they paid Don Adams to do this “intro” or was it someone else? I know this DVD was released close to the time when he passed…so who knows.

  • November 10, 2013 at 4:52 am

The end of the video goes will with the instrumental to Afromans “Because I Got High”.
