Magfest fundraiser show for Japan

James / March 16th, 2011

I know I already posted about the tragedy, but Magfest just let me know they’re holding a fundraiser event. I’ve been attending the Magfest convention for the past few years and know they’re always up to good stuff.

(from the Magfest site)

The recent natural disasters to hit Japan are truly a tragedy. We gamers feel a special brand of sorrow as we see that the country which delivered us our childhood is now going through a tough time that many of us cannot fathom. For this reason, MAGFest will be holding a very special edition of our online “MAGFest Super Show” this Sunday, March 20th, at 7PM eastern time. Join us for 3 hours of music, special guests, auctions, and more, where 100% of the proceeds will go directly to charity to benefit Japan. Any donations of over $10 during the show will be rewarded with complimentary copies of the ’09 and ’10songs for the cure albums. Until then, if you would like to donate your talent or auction items, please contact us to let us know.

Please stay tuned to our facebook and twitter as the date draws closer to find the exact details of how you’ll be able to tune into the show and donate.

Note: If there isn’t enough time to auction everything off, or the response is incredible, we will do a second show in a week (or so) time.

Also, I just noticed ScrewAttack is donating to the Red Cross, when you download the iphone game Texting of the Bread. Cool stuff!

I think that covers the different fundraisers. Again, I know I already mentioned this before and provided some donation options, this should be it.

Come on James, take my idea. I think you know it would work. And if you don’t know what I’m talking about look at your last post on Japan and the look for my comment. Though I guess I should not say I’m not thinking you will do something like that. Maybe you will at the fest? Get together with some of the other nerds and go on, trying to get more people to give money, via a video feed or something. I mean come on, your fans are most likely thinking you will try something like this also. I know a few people told me my idea was good. I find it funny you posted this like right after I wrote that comment though… But come on just a video like not even a min, of you saying “Help japan, and give them some money!” would most likely make your fans go and break there banks, take out the money they were saving for a car. And just give it to Japan. Come on whos with me?! JAMES DO YOUR PART TO MAKE US DO OURS!! (That sounds a little off, but come on, think how many of your fans would really give away money if you told them to…)
