Article about this video on Kotaku
February 15, 2011 at 3:09 am
Nice ! 🙂
February 15, 2011 at 3:12 am
This is great, I’ve always liked Mike’s commentary in random AVGN things like the Odyssey or nightmare/friday commentary videos.
If there’s a lot more obscure/random things to show from old video games I’d love to see this become its own web series or the next “board james/you know what’s bullshit” project on Cinemassacre. Maybe a crossover in an actual AVGN episode one day.
February 15, 2011 at 3:14 am
motherfucker mike wins again… really liking these little trick/glitch shows
February 15, 2011 at 3:17 am
I didn’t know of either of these, thanks motherfucker! Keep making videos, they’re so math.
February 15, 2011 at 3:20 am
Nice video Motherfucker mike! i would like to see more videos from you. especially in avgn videos. as long you don’t laugh like crazy hehe
February 15, 2011 at 3:26 am
I’m doing a show about glitches too.
It’s called “Video Game Oddities”, great video btw.
February 15, 2011 at 3:32 am
Nice! You guys are listening to the fans — commendable! Thanks for making/posting this. Motherfucker Mike strikes again!
February 15, 2011 at 3:38 am
Great stuff! I’ve been playing Mega Man games since 1989 and never new about this.
February 15, 2011 at 3:55 am
The glitch on Mega Man 2 looks confusing to perform but fun to look at. Thanks for sharing it with us, Mother effing Mike.
February 15, 2011 at 4:22 am
Thats well menstral 😛 nice work mother fucker
keep it foolish
February 15, 2011 at 4:34 am

February 15, 2011 at 4:57 am
Motherfucker Mike ftw!
February 15, 2011 at 5:29 am
Fuck! Mike, you’re pretty fucking good at megaman!
I agree though, Give motherfucker mike his own series, like board james or you know whats bullshit. (By the way james, You’ve not made any videos for these in FUCKING AGES!)
Oh, and whats up with mike’s Motherfucker laugh?
February 15, 2011 at 6:49 am
Gonna have to start calling you “Mother Hacker Mike” soon enough 🙂
February 15, 2011 at 7:01 am
It’s nice that you listen to the fans when we want to see more of Mike. I like this new segment 😀
February 15, 2011 at 7:12 am
Awesome vid Mike.
You know, it just occurred to me, from hearing your voice in this episode — I bet you could do a great John Waters (Baltimore Accent) voice. Especially since you’re already so talented at doing voices. You know, not even John Waters, but just a really good, think, Baltimore accent. I’d love to hear you give a whirl sometime. Maybe you can be John Waters as a guest star on the next AVGN episode. Ha!
February 15, 2011 at 7:43 am
Woot, more Mofo Mike! Those are some complicated glitches. Looks like a pain to pull off.
February 15, 2011 at 9:18 am
Wow, I love these videos you’re making. Would be awesome extras on the next AVGN DVD. Really creative!
February 15, 2011 at 9:49 am
Lol, I wonder how people figure this out the first time! There must be some serious glitch hunters out there. Good video 😀
February 15, 2011 at 9:56 am
Motherfucker Mike’s new series is a great addition to Cinemassacre.com.
February 15, 2011 at 10:00 am
Moving platforms are no match for Motherfucker Mike!
February 15, 2011 at 10:21 am
how do you come up with those? they look so complex lol
February 15, 2011 at 10:42 am
good one Mike, glad to see that you’ll be on screen regularly
February 15, 2011 at 11:16 am
This is so awesome Mike! We need more of this!
But I missed the ‘Motherfucker Mike, out!’
February 15, 2011 at 11:22 am
February 15, 2011 at 11:25 am
Motherfucker Mike is awesome hope hes in the next avgn
Thanks for the vid
February 15, 2011 at 11:35 am
Cool, love glitches that can be triggered over and over. I’m gonna try this just to go through the spikes, hate that shit
February 15, 2011 at 11:38 am
This show needs a title, an intro and a cool fitting music!
What about “Motherfucker Mikes Woundrous World”,,,
February 15, 2011 at 11:40 am
That Mike, exposing all the glitches, what a motherfucker
February 15, 2011 at 11:47 am
Fuck you spikes! HaHa love it! Awesome job MFMike
February 15, 2011 at 11:52 am
how do you find these things?!?! LOL
February 15, 2011 at 12:12 pm
WHAAAAAAAA???? My question is who the hell discovered these things and was mucking about enough to discover them? Now thats some time spent in figuring this stuff out!
February 15, 2011 at 12:47 pm
That…is dedication. Fuck you spikes.
February 15, 2011 at 1:07 pm
I suck too hard at Mega Man t even get at this point, but seeing this cheap motherfucker reveal the laziness of Capcom is awesome.
And yes, I say they’re lazy. Well, not really if you’re doing all that shit to go through spikes, but whatever, lol.
February 15, 2011 at 1:30 pm
Hahaha xD Mike rules the world
February 15, 2011 at 1:33 pm
Woot! Thanks Muther-F’er Mike! Those are some crazy tricks.
February 15, 2011 at 2:02 pm
Pointless, but cool! Keep bringing these things up. We really enjoy them for their quirkiness.
February 15, 2011 at 2:55 pm
Hate those spikes.
February 15, 2011 at 3:21 pm
lol this and the mario flag pole are awesome. Keep ’em coming if you have any more.
I also love the Nerd fuckin around with the fairy (hm that doesn’t sound right…) in Link. I remember doing that as a kid and wondering what the hell happened.
February 15, 2011 at 3:46 pm
Hahahaha, AVGN & MF Mike is the best that happened on the net! =)
February 15, 2011 at 3:58 pm
Pffwhoa! Never heard of those-and they were really intricate.
Dang, good going, Mike. *tip o’ the hat to you*
You and James are always making wonderful videos and at such a break-neck pace. A lot of times I don’t comment because..I’m just stunned and freeze up on what I want to say, this is a good thing. 🙂
February 15, 2011 at 4:05 pm
Wow, that is some fucked up shit.
But seriously Mike, how did you discover these glitches?
February 15, 2011 at 4:20 pm
haha damn, those are some fucked up glitches, I wonder who had the time to figure all that out? Was it you Mike o_O lol. Seriously though, awesome stuff, MOAR please.
February 15, 2011 at 5:02 pm
how for the love of fuck somebody discovers this ? o_O
awesome mike, keep it on
February 15, 2011 at 5:16 pm
This is awesome. 🙂
Mike is pretty cool.
February 15, 2011 at 5:36 pm
Nice tricks, MFM. Very cool to see you giving a little love to Mega Man 1…I’m probably one of few people here who played it when it was the only Mega Man game in existence (damn, I’m getting old, lol). I played the shit out of that game and finished it many times but never knew about that bug…I sure wish there was one to kick that stupid flying block guy in the nuts or something. I think I only ever beat him once or twice without using the pause cheat…used to have nightmares about that dirty bastard. 😉
MF Mike is HAXS
February 15, 2011 at 5:54 pm
I always wondered why Megaman died in one hit from touching spikes, but I guess he just gets annoyed from getting poked, but glitch him out enough, and he just goes “screw this” and goes past them
February 15, 2011 at 6:03 pm
Ya i knew about the “pink room” trick sorta, on Megaman 2 , but i always held down on the d pad which shoots you perfectly to the ladder down to the next section. their is also a trick on the first wily stage with the quick weapon not sure if anyone else knows what i know. I guess i gotta make a vid on it. its also hard to describe but i’ll do my best AVGN e-mail me about it and i’ll tell u how to do it.
my e-mail is [email protected]
February 15, 2011 at 6:04 pm
Glad to see more game glitches from mother fucker mike. I’m gonna go play some megaman now.
February 15, 2011 at 6:14 pm
I always hated getting to the end of a game only to find glitches like this that would leave me dead.
February 15, 2011 at 6:55 pm
Intresting one when playing Megaman on the PS3 (Technically Rockman Complete Works, but whatever). After Killing Wily’s 2nd Form his last onscreen projectile hit me and threw me into some fucked up room where I was unable to move, thus preventing me from beating the game. 😛
February 15, 2011 at 7:05 pm
If you wanna see some really sick maneuvers with the zipping glitch, check out this movie: http://tasvideos.org/1649M.html Just remember that it’s done on an emulator using as many tools as there are available to beat the game, so it’s not a real-time speedrun, but still impressive.
February 15, 2011 at 8:51 pm
Nice video Mike, i love your glitch videos. I wonder if you know any super mario world glitches? what would be awesome:)
February 15, 2011 at 8:54 pm
I love these videos with Motherfucker Mike
god dammit. this video doesn’t work. I WANT TO SEE THIS SHIT
February 15, 2011 at 9:20 pm
You know, Mike, I love your stuff, but you need to stop cursing just for the sake of cursing. There’s nothing wrong with saying fuck but when it’s overused it just comes across as juvenile and uncreative. Other than that the video was awesome. If I ever find myself another copy of Mega Man I’ll have to try this.
February 15, 2011 at 9:23 pm
That’s awesome. Thanks for sharing man…I don’t feel so old now. 😉
February 15, 2011 at 9:27 pm
I think there should be more videos with Motherfucker Mike. James is amazing at what he does, but it’s cool to hear a new voice. I think, if it’s possible, Mike should have a permanent character in the AVGN episodes.
February 15, 2011 at 9:35 pm
@ Tyler Welch. That’s the fucking point, you stupid fucking cunt! Motherfuckermike is the shit! Godfuckingdamnit! Lol.
February 15, 2011 at 9:38 pm
I agree it’d be nice to see more mother fucker mike in stuff.
February 15, 2011 at 10:24 pm
I love motherfucker mike just as much as the nerd. Keep putting shit out, homeboy, you’ve got charisma!
February 15, 2011 at 10:39 pm
Motherfuckerrrrrr!! That should be Motherfucker Mike’s special move. He shouts the word Motherfucker at the top of his lungs and everything around him explodes! HaHa! Like Tetsou from Akira! Moooooooootherrrrrfuuuuucker!!! 😀 Also where did the word glitch come from? is that like when your game has a twitch a game twitch, a ……glitch? We don’t know. 🙂
February 15, 2011 at 10:42 pm
Mike and James are both tallented mofos that crack me so consistently up. 🙂
February 16, 2011 at 12:55 am
that’s right spikes, FUCK YOU!! ha!
February 16, 2011 at 12:59 am
Fucking sick. Keep ’em coming. I love these.
February 16, 2011 at 1:39 am
Good one mother fucker Mike
February 16, 2011 at 2:12 am
Awesome stuff MOFO MIKE!!!!!!
February 16, 2011 at 3:48 am
This looks familiar for some reason
February 16, 2011 at 3:49 am
“That;s right spikes, Fuck You” hahaha I love that line!!
February 16, 2011 at 8:20 am
This makes me happy. Seems like it might become a regular thing after all! Videos with Mike, that is. Better not get my hopes up, though.
February 16, 2011 at 8:28 am
Sorry for double post. I really wish you could edit your posts…
But anyway, it would actually be a smart move to make this a regular thing; it might actually take some pressure off of James, having Mike fill in for him like this once in awhile to keep Cinemassacre material coming — and by extension keep us greedy nerds pleased for a few days more — while James can focus on other things (and take it easy; after all these years, he deserve that).
February 16, 2011 at 10:09 am
Megaman is I agree one tough game, I played a game genie version once to make it easier, but the game lost its fun factor after that.
Arguable one of the best video game series, but I for some reason could not get into it.
oh and in case you think I forgot:
February 16, 2011 at 1:16 pm
Wow dude you look unhealthy.
February 16, 2011 at 3:48 pm
I guess Spiked-Wall Man has a weakness after all!
February 16, 2011 at 5:05 pm
Awesome stuff, Mike!!! I don’t think I’ve ever seen these glitches before… Is this the first time they’ve ever been documented?
February 16, 2011 at 10:18 pm
Very cool shit Motherfucker Mike. Definitely gonna try the Mega Man 2 glitch out tonight
February 16, 2011 at 10:58 pm
Nice MFM. I knew of glitches messing everything up in MM2 like the one you showed in MM1, but I never saw either of these. That was cool.
February 17, 2011 at 2:57 am
Where are you getting this info? The through the wall stuff in MM2 is simple collision detection stuff. Its the same thing that allows you to get to the ‘minus world’ in Super Mario Bros. When you get close to a wall it pushes you out the opposite direction you are facing so that you don’t get stuck in it. Usually this is just a few pixels or so and happens so quick that it appears that you just run into the wall.
If you can get lodged deep enough though you end up getting a constant push (entry to the ‘minus’ world).
My original question “Where are you getting this info?” still makes me curious. My point of the above paragraph is that the reason that this works is semi-well known and definitely documented. HOWEVER, the particular method and tricks you are doing.. I sure as hell haven’t seen before.
It would be like knowing that you can get stuck in walls and move like in Super Mario Bros 1 but not knowing about going through the wall at the end of 1-2 and getting to the minus world.
When MM9 was announced I got really excited. When it was released I remember realizing that while watching the intro I was sitting on my knees in front of my TV like the little kid version of me would have. It was completely unintentional but wholly natural. When it says “Be careful Mega Man, you haven’t done this in a while!” and then the title screen came up, I almost shed a tear out of pure happiness.
After MM9 I went through and played all of them over again. While MM has it’s share of glitches, I must say, I’ve never seen of heard of the Wily one OR the specific wall/ladder glitches. It surprises me as I am sort of a glitch connoisseur.
That being said, I have already fallen in love with these videos even though there are only two. I’ve always wanted to a series like this. When you made the original ‘jumping the flag pole’ video I didn’t expect it to be a series. As a programmer, I’ve always thought that glitches, particularly NES era, were so interesting. I think it’s mostly because they had to code directly to the hardware so it’s equal parts human logic problems and equal parts sacrificing precision for speed/performance.
I would say, looks like they should have went with a more accurate collision detection algorithm.. but look at all the fun it brings 😉 Keep up the awesome work. Muthafuckin Mofo Mike.
February 17, 2011 at 1:52 pm
Keep ’em coming, Mike! I remember some comments when James went to once a month about how it would be great to get “mini” AGVN videos to fill in-between, but obviously that doesn’t make sense for James time-wise.
But these videos by you, James, serve a similar purpose and have a whole different feel. They’re a lot of fun. I do love that you guys are releasing a variety of content every week, too. Thanks for that! But it’s nice to have video game-based video additions like this one.
February 17, 2011 at 1:53 pm
Sorry, meant Mike, not James in that second paragraph there!
February 17, 2011 at 4:36 pm
February 17, 2011 at 8:41 pm
wow mike you look different, you got any make up or are you ill ?
February 17, 2011 at 10:33 pm
How on earth do people figure this stuff out? xP
Awesome vid Mike 😀
February 17, 2011 at 11:10 pm
This segment needs a name. I vote “Motherfucking Glitches”
February 18, 2011 at 1:00 am
Mother Fucker Mike,
Your my favorite. I know your the art-ish type so I’m going to be up front with you man. Lay off the what ever the fuck drug your on cause you look super unhealthy.
Your best and very concerned friend
William T. Riker
February 18, 2011 at 6:10 am
hey mama flushing Mike the videos are awesome I am also from the NES era and never saw those glitches before, if you have more of those keep them coming!!
when I was 20 being mother fucker was a dream, now that I am 34 I see my friends moms and I don’t want to be a mother fucker anymore!
is just that todays mother fucker is tomorrows granny fucker hahahaha
February 18, 2011 at 4:40 pm
I love these glitch videos, its a great idea! Would be great if the video was a little longer. But I understand that it is pretty difficult to get more run time without enhancing the number of glitches in a single vid.
February 18, 2011 at 9:09 pm
As weird as it sounds I thought you have some kind of illness too because of your appearance. Glad to know you are OK
February 19, 2011 at 4:59 pm
Can I cum all over your face ?
February 21, 2011 at 8:10 pm
@ Motherfucker Mike
Glad to know your ok. You still look great and all, just worried. And yes I spend much of my time on the holodeck.
February 23, 2011 at 2:53 am
Mike, I am really stoked you touched on Megaman II. Its one of my favorite games of all times, and I love the series, regardless of how shitty they have become. But I am confused as to why you didn’t mention one of the most obvious (and helpful) glitches in the game. I refer to none other than the Wily Stage glitch that occurs during a boss fight in which the blue bomber becomes invincible by doing the start menu spam. If you are unaware of this glitch, let me know. I’d be happy to explain more!
Keep up the great work!
February 24, 2011 at 4:34 pm
Mike you made Kotaku!
February 27, 2011 at 11:47 am
Hey, making Kotaku is bomb! Congratulations!
Ah the useless glitches of the old NES games. And I don’t care what anyone says, Mega Man 2 was my favorite out of all of them.
Don The Producer
February 28, 2011 at 1:54 pm
Mother F$%^£ Mike is the man! he should have his own sub nerd channel packed full of his amazing boom filled antics, I would certainly tune in and lend my support.
Don’t het me wrong I prefer the NERD anyday, he hates the shi$y games that suck as$ and nonone can beat him at games.
March 3, 2011 at 8:10 pm
I think I just Trek-gasmed at Mike’s ownage of Riker.
Great video, Mike…and nice wardrobe choice. The leather jacket is super boss.
March 11, 2011 at 8:30 am
This show has great potential, but the only one thing is missing – where’s the Glitch Gremlin!
March 16, 2011 at 12:40 am
“that’s right spikes, fuck you!” lol!
March 16, 2011 at 1:38 am
Motherfucker Mike your totally strugglin on the game glitches. Don’t get me wrong I never saw these glitches before but you should do a montage video of a bunch of glitches
March 27, 2011 at 5:37 pm
XD Thats right spikes, FUCK YOU. Every gamer’s dream has been realized…
April 6, 2011 at 9:59 pm
I like these little glitch demonstration videos you do. They’re short, easy to digest, and fun. Also, sometimes you hear a lot about a glitch but can never find videos of it being done to try it precisely yourself. These are a good remedy for that. Hope all’s well!
April 16, 2011 at 3:59 am
shit on a piss bitch that mother fucker must have been hard to do…
I’m spade and up up up left right down up left right A A A B B B up down left fuckin right…
April 19, 2011 at 2:58 pm
i miss old school mega man
June 7, 2011 at 4:03 pm
Haha, how the hell would someone figure these things out?
A little too much swearing, but the one at the end at the spikes was a funny addition. Like was said before, every gamer has wanted to do that and get away with it 🙂
December 14, 2011 at 8:18 pm
February 4, 2012 at 10:22 pm
Mike is a gltich beast, Well done !
March 24, 2014 at 11:33 pm
Man Mike, you always save the best glitches to the end
