    January 19, 2011 at 3:52 pm

Well that was a good question, where was Mike?
I wish I could go to all the cons, you seem to have so much fun! Next time I’m going to the US I HAVE to plan so I can go to some con were James is going to be.
It seems that both James and the other people there had a lot of fun 🙂

  • January 19, 2011 at 3:58 pm

Three good questions for the next Q&A:
    1. What’s the most annoying thing that happened to you as a Internet celebrity?
    2. What do you think about this massive cult of online reviewing which probably you started?
    3. Do you want to do AVGN related stuff for ever or do you have any idea what will come after your time as an internet reviewer?

And please stop asking about things, that he already answered in some of his videos and all those “Will your review…?” and “What’s your favorite…?” questions!

    PROBLEM WITH VIDEO:
I can’t see smoothly this video, the streaming is lagging (I hope this is the correct term to use). The same problem I had this morning with part one, but if I see the video on the blip.tv site, it work properly.

  • lartrak2

    January 19, 2011 at 5:33 pm

I think it’s funny when people try to ask James fairly personal questions and he wiggles out of it.

James seems like a fairly private guy, who unexpectedly fell into the limelight.

Think I’d do pretty much the same thing.

  • January 19, 2011 at 5:54 pm

I felt so shitty, they closed the doors, and I was the next in line. I was sooooo pissed. Hoping the whole time someone had to leave so i could take thier spot.

Kefka’s domain? YOU HAVE GREAT TASTE! I recommend you check out in Youtube “The Dark Crystals” from Final Fantasy III (the real one) it’s really good. Also that was my first game too! The combo SMB Duck Hunt one and I didn’t laughed that hard until the “water” part.
Thanks for the 3DS info too!

    January 19, 2011 at 9:31 pm

Looks like it was a pretty good time. Good watch, thanks for uploading these.

Also, you most certainly should do a review on the movie ‘The Room’. That’s something I’d love to see.

  • January 19, 2011 at 10:40 pm

You’re the best, James! Keep up the great work and for everything you’ve been doing “CONGLATURATIONS!!!”

  • January 19, 2011 at 11:18 pm

I like how James is always so down to earth in videos like this.
You see other online “celebrities” that are just so much up their own asses that they’re just not interesting to listen to or they don’t even seem fun to be around (spoony and that “lulz I speak for all gamers” moron angry joe for example).
I like seeing that James is still, despite all his popularity, such a cool, “fun to be around” kind of guy, that he didn’t become an asshole after becoming popular. Like it didn’t really get to his head too much.

    @muk546
What are you talking about, of course Heavy Rain is shitty. The gameplay (if you can even call it that) is horrible, the “movie”, such as it is, is terribly acted, terribly written, terribly directed, has terrible/incredibly stupid characters (“lulz, i have tons of clues that could help find my son, but, instead of getting help from the police, I’ll cut my fingers off! Derp derp”) and the antagonist is probably the worst I’ve seen in any movie/book/game ever. I have things like Shaq Fu, Superman 64 and ET, yet I’d rather play those than Heavy Rain. At least those shitty games have some semblance of gameplay and more interesting storylines (no, really).

  • January 20, 2011 at 12:48 am

I freaking hope James becomes a millionaire and Hollywood producer. He has already as the avgn made me laugh harder than any movie director I know. He’s going to the the next Quentin Tarantino of comedy and horror films in the next decade. He deserves every cent he gets. 😀

  • malice2500

    January 20, 2011 at 12:49 am

i can think of a really crappy game released within the past five years.shadow run.the one for snes was bad azz.the new one was so horrible i had some friends that worked at fye shrink wrap it,so i could take it back to gamestop.two weeks later it from 60$ to 40$.

    Those were cute. Thank you.

  • mcnerven

    January 20, 2011 at 6:34 am

Heavy Rain was probably my game of the year contender for being able to tug on my emotions in a way few games ever have and though it does have its minor faults (tank controls in particular), overall the acting, story and branching decision making combined for an awesome interactive movie experience that will hopefully be applied to other games.

I suppose for framing that comment my other top 4 favorite 2010 games were Red Dead Redemption, Limbo, Lara Croft Guardian of Light and God of War 3.

  • mcnerven

    January 20, 2011 at 6:40 am

As for shitty games over the past few years…tons of movie adaptations such as Iron Man and Transformers along with other abominations like Two Worlds, Bomberman Act Zero, Vampire Rain, Rogue Warrior and some others, especially all the shovelware that gets pumped out onto the Wii and DS.

  • Rice

    January 20, 2011 at 10:43 am

Wow~ really want to meet ya James in person. I really want to work a project with you in this life time. You really have the heart to do your work. And I’m really appreciated.

Can you unhide this video on Blip.tv?
Because I can’t watch here, the video quality is bad. I don’t know why, but on blip.tv it is good, I already tested with the part one

  • andysutherland

    January 20, 2011 at 5:14 pm

Good job, James. I only wish people had asked some better questions.

  • xeemo

    January 20, 2011 at 6:08 pm

This makes me wonder if you were covering up your latest crossover, or if that wasn’t planned yet. Looking forward to see more of that.

  • xeemo

    Edit:If that’s even a crossover.

    January 21, 2011 at 2:01 am

James. you got to review “The Room”

  • January 21, 2011 at 5:29 am

blip.tv finally let me watch these, and it was very entertaining. I have to say I don’t envy you having to stand up there and answer a lot of those frankly, really lame questions. There were a lot of good ones too, but I could see you struggling for breath there sometimes on some of those really random ones. I think you handled it well. Looking forward to your 100th.

  • Osubosu

    January 21, 2011 at 10:20 am

I m whit James i would wanna see metroid the movie that would be cool

  • Radelta

    January 21, 2011 at 12:43 pm

Heavy rain was indeed pretty shitty, the demo was enough for me. i dont even know that much about the story just the gameplay is enough to make me turn it off.

there is some pretty hilarious footage from the game on youtube people edit together though. its got that going on

  • January 21, 2011 at 4:01 pm

James is kinda of boring to question because he too calm and barely answer the questions., it’s almost seem like he tired and doesn’t even want to be there answering questions lol

i’m so use to his AVGN persona i guess lol

  • inkliver

    January 21, 2011 at 9:40 pm

  • blair85

    January 22, 2011 at 2:20 am

My favorite comment was in Bible games 2, there are three comments actually 1: “WHO ARE THESE RAGING ATHEISTS who are trying to keep me from going to church!?” and “‘What did you do on your way to Sunday school?’ ‘Oh I just tossed a bomb at some guy and blew his face off’ YEAH look at the face!” and “NOAH IS THE FUCKING MAN!” that whole episode was amazing.

  • January 22, 2011 at 8:38 pm

    January 22, 2011 at 9:23 pm

What’s with the leather jacket though? Are you fighting your nerd persona much like Jaleel White sought to distinquish himself from Urkel?

  • jalvarez82

    January 23, 2011 at 3:23 am

Nice Q&A. I would have asked James a question regarding his classic game collection, like…what was your greatest find? or…what is the rarest game you own? Something along those lines.

  • January 23, 2011 at 11:40 am

Ah man I love these James Rolfe the man himself. I wish I could of gone.

  • DirkDiggler

    January 23, 2011 at 6:20 pm

James you always hold a mic like you’re sucking a dick, its really weird

  • Rasengan999

    January 23, 2011 at 9:57 pm

What I would ask is if Mecha Death Christ would ever return. That, and what the current position on the Nerd vs Critic is. What I mean is: Sure, they made up at the end of the Team Brawl, then they did the joint Coming out of Their Shells review. BUT, at the end of that, they start beating the crap out of each other again. After that, there has been nothing. So: Are the Nerd and Critic friends, or still fighting? (And I mean THE NERD and THE CRITIC, not James and Doug. The characters, not the actors.)

P.S.-Apparently Board James is alright though, as seeing how he got an obligatory cameo.

    January 26, 2011 at 8:44 am

Man there were some complete microphone hogs in that audience. Especially the guy with the Tron movie question just didn’t shut up.

Did find it remarkable that besides the very first question it was a lot of “look at me trying to be funny” (although I did like Linkara) and it was all so standard.
I would have liked more in depth questions regarding his work, and how he does things.

  • January 26, 2011 at 8:18 pm

aww man, such a cool guy. i hope i meet him one day in a bar so i can buy him a drink. but since i live in the England i don’t think that’ll happen 🙁

  • fmdof

    January 27, 2011 at 7:50 am

love the panel. Too many people filming you though. Kinda sad, cause all they’re gonna do is post it on youtube in hopes to get their subscriber total from 5 to 10 like minutes after the panel was over. Its like getting someones autograph just to sell it. Either way james, keep up the great work, and thanks for giving us, the fans, a chance to see a bit more of the behind the scenes.

If you will answer this question, which I would really love to know, is will you ever do a review of a newer game? I know you’ve done the newer Castlevania, which I have come to know that you love, but I would love to see a review of some of the newer games, such as Pokemon Black/White,
or any of the newer series in the Nintendo line-up.
