That is so weird the today (December 8th, 2010) I got a boxed Friday the 13th game for the nes including the manual. I also got Joe and Mac for the snes the same way except it also came with a poster.

You’ve scared me a lot. At first I thought that this recap episode is the special one we should be waiting for.
Can’t say much about the real special episode. It was good indeed. Mike had a lot of job in this one. Remaking The Grinch in a nerd way was a great idea. Thank you for that. Really fresh and original.

Forget my previous comment. I’m back to being disappointed. I have to watch and read everything before I comment next time… This years X-mas episode(s) wasn’t as great. I don’t like where this is going. It has a kind of Metallica feel to it, where initially it’s really awesome and then all of a sudden for no apparent reason it’s just mediocre and on the verge of disaster. There was no rage AT ALL in the last episode and now we get this. But at the same time I really wish I could like it and I feel bad ripping on your videos because I really love everything else you’ve done and it doesn’t seem fair somehow that I go on like this and being a jerk.
Well, there’s always the next episode of whatever kind of video to look forward to, so I hope it’s a good one

This is a nice recap of all the great holiday episodes. We really appreciate all the hard work the AVGN team puts into these hilarious videos.
If there’s one thing that I’ve learned by watching the Christmas episodes, it is this: Don’t fuck with Noah. He’ll hunt your ass down with a slingshot, or throw a stack of livestock at you. He’s a strong motherfucker.

Man people are getting a bit too demanding with avgn. It’s a web series free of charge…it doesn’t cost any of us a dime unless we decide we want to buy the dvds or merch. every new video is very well done entertainment unlike much of anything we get anywhere else and bottom line, it costs us nothing. I don’t think anyone has the right to say James needs to do shit this way or that way or start putting out stuff more like how they want it unless we all have to start paying some kind of membership fee or the show goes dvd exclusive (neither likely to happen in the near future).

Crap, what were people expecting with a tittle like “AVGN: Holiday Memories”. A look back at the past 4 x-masses sure beats, “Hey, watch me open presents as a kid.” LOL
Fun vid. I’d forgotten about the park where the lion and the squirrel get knocked down at the same time.
Even though I’m not into x-mas, I did like the 2010 Christmas Special. Nice work, there.

I just love when you did all the things the cartridge said NOT to do to it. Plus, did you really light it on fire and all that other stuff? Or was there a casing of covering around it? Finally, I hate when you look at a game and you think and/or say “Hey this might be cool.” But when you get down to it you think and/or say “THIS IS A FUCKIN’ SHIT BISQUET!” That’s deffinately what I hate about games.

I will always find the ending of last year’s Christmas episode funny as hell.

The double knock out had me laughing on the floor when I first saw that episode, think about the ods of that event happening, I’m so glad you caught that on video for us to witness. I also love the “Raging Athiest” remark to the people attacking you on the way to sunday school.

Wow, some people really need to shut the hell up… James has been doing nerd videos for 4 years now, 4 years ! 97 episodes ! damn this is crazy ! How many people would be able to do that ? And people are still complaining.. he doesn’t have to do it, he could just decide : alright fuck this, but no he keeps doing it for us.
I’ve been following the nerd since the beginning, and I’m really pissed when I see kids going apeshit because they don’t like the new christmas episode. If you don’t like it, just leave the page and shut up ! James doesn’t need all those shitty messages. He’s got a life you know ? He has a wife, maybe kids, he has a family and he has a lot of work to do .
I know I wouldn’t be able to work like I do and keep up with the AVGN, Board james and everything else like he does. And I’m doing some 3D animation, so I know what it takes to do videos like that, film it, do the montage, for fuck’s sake, he even pays a server to do this, HE PAYS SO YOU CAN SEE AVGN MONTHLY FOR FREE.
I know I may sound like a fanboy or something, but I just really like his stuff and people bitching the most about it are the ones that don’t even know how a fucking webcam works. Try to do videos, host a website, Do a movie, go to movie conventions and do everything that James does for his fans, then and maybe then only you could start bitching.

Every year during the holidays they put movies like this on tv, like Gremlins, Home Alone, and other movies that they can’t broadcast during the year. The just empty their bag of movies and at the end of the year there are only shitty movies left. Don’t get me wrong, Gremlins isn’t bad and I also liked Home Alone but it’s boring seeing the same movie from time to time.

I’ll absolutely admit that this video seems to be done just purely out of contractual obligations. The actual Nerd vid on YouTube is far better, and is worth watching. This simply looks like James submitted his first video, GameTrailers rejected it, and needed something to make his deadline. Nothing is faster or easier than a clip show. Still, it’s entertaining if you don’t want to go and watch all the Christmas specials at once.
It’s probably because of the fact he did a parody of How the Grinch Stole Christmas that GameTrailers didn’t allow it. Strange, since nothing bad would happen as he would have been covered legally.
I was half expecting to see Handsome Tom being cut, but was pleasantly surprised when he stayed. I do like the fact that ScrewAttack hasn’t shunned him, and as far as I’m aware, are more than willing to have him back.
All in all, I’d say this was kind of “meh”. It just reeked of rushed, but that doesn’t mean I don’t still love you, James.
