October 14, 2010 at 3:03 am
Fisrt!!! Good review.
October 14, 2010 at 3:05 am
you couldnt have watched it
October 14, 2010 at 3:06 am
Yeah, but i’m wachting it and it’s good.
October 14, 2010 at 3:08 am
The last part was gold.
October 14, 2010 at 3:10 am
Great review, love the james earl jones thing…..
October 14, 2010 at 3:12 am
so thats where the Gorillaz got that statue in their “Rock It” music video
October 14, 2010 at 3:13 am
rofl locust costume
Yea I unfortunately remember this movie too well
great stuff as usual james
October 14, 2010 at 3:15 am
Very nice review, James! This one cracked me up. lol XP
October 14, 2010 at 3:16 am
Nice reference to Inception. What did you think about that movie, James?
October 14, 2010 at 3:18 am
Oh wow… this looks really horrible. Shame because the first one is probably, well, imo, the scariest movie ever, nothing has come close for me.
October 14, 2010 at 3:22 am
I actually think this one is good, but not great, i don’t care about the third one, the best thing about Exorcist 2 is that Linda Blair is nice to look at through out the film, i think her future movies like Chained Heat and Savage Streets are far better!
October 14, 2010 at 4:03 am
By the looks of the reviews clips the movie looks interesting to say the least, I might wanna check this one out
October 14, 2010 at 4:06 am
I feel Exorcist 2 is the definitive “so bad it’s good” film or “unintentional comedy” I f you can’t watch, you can’t watch but I love it. I didn’t know about the re-edit. Which version is the one seen on home video today? It’s the only version I’ve seen. (First on VHS and then DVD.)
October 14, 2010 at 4:07 am
Cool review, have to say that I never really bothered with any of the sequels. Some movies are prime for one, others should just be left alone.
That being said, I think James should do one horrible review just to spite the “first, good review” guys
October 14, 2010 at 5:25 am
how about a review of “Gore-met, Zombie Chef from Hell”?
When talking shitty movies, that one is the shittiest of ‘em all
October 14, 2010 at 5:33 am
The Ninth Configuration (aka Twinkle Twinkle Killer Kane)
October 14, 2010 at 6:08 am
love the Vader scene
October 14, 2010 at 6:27 am
So Reagan wasn’t really possessed by the devil after all? Didn’t see that one coming. Love the review.
1977. Getting closer to the 80s.
October 14, 2010 at 6:28 am
Is this one a W.P Blatty novel too? I’ve really liked the third one, and looked forward to see this one, but thanks to you, James and Mike, it’s not gonna happen.
Exorcist 3 is based on Blatty’s novel “Legion”, which is pretty fucking good if there are any readers around.
October 14, 2010 at 6:42 am
What a piece of shit that was, jesus that movie is horrible
The only, the only reason for watching this movie is Linda Blair, she looks pretty nice in the movie,
thanks James, great way to start the morning, can’t wait for tomorrow
October 14, 2010 at 6:53 am
The image of James Earl Jones dressed as a locust in a soundbooth recording Darth Vader’s dialogue is maybe the funniest thing I have seen this whole year. You have outdone yourself, sir.
October 14, 2010 at 7:22 am
I always thought The Exorcist should’ve been a stand-alone product, with no sequels attached. This seems like a case of Hollywood getting over eager because of the massive success of the first film, so they tried throwing everything but the kitchen sink into the second film.
October 14, 2010 at 7:41 am
I think I was most impressed with James’ research on this one. I love how he connected the year of its release, to Star Wars. The Imagery of James Earl Jones doing his voice over work in locust costume is priceless.
October 14, 2010 at 7:43 am
Agreed MadHitz… Only “sequel” to the Exorcist should be Repossessed. I hope sometime James does a comedic horror movie Monster Madness with spoofs of horror movies like Matinee where they poke fun of the Giant Killer bug movies of the 50s, Repossessed which pokes fun of Exorcist (and stars Linda Blair!), Monster Squad, etc..
October 14, 2010 at 7:47 am
damn regan was hot in the second one. id bang the “hell” out of her. hehe
October 14, 2010 at 8:04 am
james do a sleepawaycamp movies and beastwithin and madman
October 14, 2010 at 8:05 am
is it too late to make a review of “The Human Centipede”?
October 14, 2010 at 8:14 am
LMAO! I’ll say this about “The Exorcist II”, at first, I really hated the film, I mean, it is a complete piece of shit compared to the original, which is fucking LEGENDARY!, but as time went on, I came to appreciate it a little more even though it’s still a pile of elephant shit.
The fact that there was a different director really killed the film. “The Exorcist III” is an AMAZING sequel, and in my opinion stands as the TRUE sequel to the original.
And yeah, Linda Blair was steaming hot in this film!
And dudes, stop asking for “Sleepaway Camp” that film RULES! So does “Madman”
And, as always, thanks a lot James, I’m loving these!
October 14, 2010 at 8:20 am
Hey James if you want to review a bad monster movie review REPTILLIAN, total Godzilla ripoff !!! its seriously bad but really funny XD!!!
October 14, 2010 at 8:58 am
I don’t do good with horror so I doubt I will be able to watch this review if Exorcist 2 has any scary scenes I know you would likely show.
October 14, 2010 at 9:07 am
I didn’t know that was Nurse Ratchet, LOL. My condolesnces for reviewing this stinker. Boy this was an awful movie. It’s so bad I couldn’t even explain what it’s about! From the very beginning it just makes no sense. Oh well.
October 14, 2010 at 9:36 am
Wow…As a huge fan of The Exorcist, I’ve decided to not watch this movie because I always felt it would ruin it. I’m glad I never have, this movie looks awful! And yeah, Linda Blair does look seductive….weird.
Keep up the awesome videos!
October 14, 2010 at 9:48 am
Good review as allways and I must say that you prenounced Max von Sydow better then any other reviewer on the net! Keep it up
October 14, 2010 at 10:03 am
Linda Blair, man.
October 14, 2010 at 10:06 am
Dear god, stop telling him what to review.
October 14, 2010 at 10:11 am
I’ve never seen the Exorcist , but I don’t think it’s the Devil.
what? come on, the Devil wouldn’t waste his time tormenting ONE small family by possessing the body of some random little girl. He would be off carrying out a plan for world domination or something. And all that church mumbo jumbo wouldn’t stop him. he’s way more powerful than that. he’s the lord and master of all that is evil and dark!
so yeah, I think it’s some demon thing, not the Devil.
October 14, 2010 at 10:24 am
Dude, kickass review! I mean, Linda Blair was totally hot; and I will never be able to get that image of James Earl Jones, in Locust garb, doing the voice of Darth Vader out of my head. Great job, James! Keep kicking ass!
October 14, 2010 at 10:33 am
That POV shot, now i know where Sam Raimi got his insperation to Evil dead from
October 14, 2010 at 10:35 am
I was always fascinated by this movie because of the premise that it continued the story that we all watched over and over. Getting some answers not explained in the first movie was also a great reason to watch this – that is going in for a first viewing.
One thing I thought was awesome was that random humming of her voice singing some slow melody near the end of the movie and in some dream sequences. Something about that was just crazily fitting.
October 14, 2010 at 11:20 am
As a really big Star Wars dan that James Earl Jones footage you made is just epic ^^ it really made me laugh. Thanks i really liked that
October 14, 2010 at 11:30 am
God, I just love that line from the first movie “Your mother sucks cocks in hell”.
October 14, 2010 at 11:33 am
I actually watched this back when I was a kid around 8 or 9 years old after watching Exoricist for the first time. I rented it from my video store on VHS and was immensely confused as hell but because I looked at it as part of a series (Just like Rocky and Rocky II and III and IV) I felt I had to finish seeing it. My uncle got me into horror films at a young age and he warned me that Exorcist 2 was different and not a very good movie but back then I felt obligated to watch the complete series (can’t remember if Exorcist 3 had come out). Years later I actually bought it on dvd just so I can have all the Exorcist movies and I rewatched it. There are some good moments but the overal movie sucks. I think the parts with Reagan in the makeup and flashbacks were the best parts.
October 14, 2010 at 11:43 am
“Linda Blair agreed to reprise her role of Regan MacNeil for Exorcist II, but refused to wear demon make-up (a double was used for the brief flashback scenes depicting a demonic Regan)”
I actually always thought it was Linda Blair in the make up in Exorcist 2 but I guess it wasn’t. I wonder why she had issues with the makeup after agreeiong to be in the film.
October 14, 2010 at 11:47 am
As an Oscar buff, I’d like to point out that “No Country for Old Men” could be considered a horror film. People being chased by a psychotic killer, forced into situations that they don’t want to be in… it certainly qualifies as a horror film, if not a camp or cult horror film.
In fact, William Friedkin, director of “The Exorcist”, says most modern horror films are just gruesome comedies. He consideres movies like “No Country for Old Men” and even “United 93″ to be true horror films because they put you in a place you don’t want to go.
October 14, 2010 at 12:12 pm
Great review James. I own 1 and 3. I have seen bits and pieces of 2 on TV over the years but never sat down and watched it in it’s entirety, in part due to it’s poor reputation.
October 14, 2010 at 12:32 pm
Yay for the insidejoke. BOOM!
Good review, but it really sounds like a strange movie XD
October 14, 2010 at 12:33 pm
Loved the Noooooooo… at the end!
October 14, 2010 at 1:09 pm
Oh James Earl Jones, we all know thats what happend ^^
October 14, 2010 at 1:35 pm
The original was a masterpiece this is just a piece of something…… http://www.vizzed.com/vizzedboard/index.php?ref=65348
October 14, 2010 at 1:36 pm
pazuzu? you mean the assyrian daemon of the winds? what does that have to do with locusts, witch doctors, exorcisms, and africa? on second thought, just fuck it, i’m downloading this for myself (there’s no way i’m paying for this).
October 14, 2010 at 2:16 pm
Informative and funny review, but Nolan was actually inspired by a Beaglie Boys comic to make Inception. I shit you not.
October 14, 2010 at 2:34 pm
Man, at first i didn’t wanted to see the review because i tough it would be very scary but i like it (Aniway i didnt say i was going to sleep tonight LOL)
October 14, 2010 at 2:42 pm
I read the book for the first one (never saw it) and was hoping for unbelievable AWESOMENESS in Part 2, but was sadly disappointed.
October 14, 2010 at 3:01 pm
I loooved the first onee… but I never saw the second one and thank goodness… i always thought i was missing out…. but im glad i wont be dissappointed… =]
October 14, 2010 at 3:08 pm
The makeup looks fucking scary
October 14, 2010 at 3:48 pm
Wow, Linda Blair does look attractive. Who would have guessed….
I think I might see this movie JUST BECAUSE of the weird factor.
October 14, 2010 at 4:09 pm
October 14, 2010 at 4:17 pm
October 14, 2010 at 4:27 pm
Saw this years ago on showtime or starz or something. I thought ‘what the fuck is this shit?’ got so bored I shut it off after ten minutes or so. Also saw The Exorcist: The Beginning and felt sick that they resorted to a generic CG monster that just ran around screaming and such. You would have to try pretty hard to convince me to see another exorcist movie
October 14, 2010 at 4:30 pm
Nurse Ratched! I haaate her! Haha.
October 14, 2010 at 4:55 pm
Exorcist 1 would be cool, not this shit f a movie.
October 14, 2010 at 5:36 pm
What was the Christopher Nolan reference? I’m guessing the heretic is James Earl Jones, but I’m not watching this movie to find out.
October 14, 2010 at 5:55 pm
shit, Inception- durr
October 14, 2010 at 6:24 pm
I saw the first film… It’s really scary. However I don’t think it’s scarier than Grunge and Ring, seriously i’m talking about the Japanese versions…
Anyway, great job. I actually laughed so hard I almost chock myself when I saw James E. Jones making that voice for Vadar. Gee! Really oweson James!
October 14, 2010 at 6:33 pm
great review i didn’t even know they made a second one
October 14, 2010 at 6:41 pm
John Boorman has a very unusual career as director including films like: Deliverance, Zardoz, and Excalibur. Got to love this guys ability to be all over the place.
P.S. Watch Zardoz
October 14, 2010 at 6:59 pm
They should of called the movie “Wrath of the Bugman” or Bugwizard.
October 14, 2010 at 8:04 pm
After I watched the trailer to this I thought I was high (and I don’t do drugs)
October 14, 2010 at 8:05 pm
I actually saw this movie about a year ago because I wanted to watch all the Exorcist movies. I’m glad you ripped this one. The 3rd movie really was better.
October 14, 2010 at 8:08 pm
I9 remember watchimng the fisr one when the re-edition was made.. And I like it.. This one I watch it on the TV. And yeah It was for me a weird expirience
October 14, 2010 at 8:21 pm
I saw this one in its entirety a few years ago, I though Linda Blair looked really hot at the end when she’s being all seductive on the bed, it was supposed to be a horror movie, but to be honest instead of scaring me it got me horny at the end xD. The only part that I thought was scary was when the demon was touching Regan’s heart, I completely agree with James that this movie is so damn random.
I didnt see all of the Exorcist 3, but I saw parts, something about Father Damien? he was possessed or something, it didnt make sense to me because I thought he had died, then again I didnt watch it all.
October 14, 2010 at 8:32 pm
can anybody tell me more about that statue? it was in the gorillaz music video rock it and also in other videos and on the cover or D-sides
October 14, 2010 at 8:33 pm
This movie was okay. Nothing compared to the first
October 14, 2010 at 8:35 pm
ah… don’t rip on John Boorman… he directed one of the BADDEST ASSe’d FILMS OF ALL TIME, a little thing called “EXCALIBUR”
October 14, 2010 at 8:37 pm
From what i heard they made this one ridiculous on purpose. that way people wouldnt b so scared anymore
October 14, 2010 at 8:43 pm
Great review, i laughed, then i peed a little. Anyways, the torrent is ready for download!
No ads or crap, as always.
October 14, 2010 at 9:27 pm
lol, Yeah when I was watching it one time, my dad was like, “why are you watching this one, it sucks and it doesn’t even deal with the exorcist” well im glad I listened and turned the piece of shit off. Oh and I think I was at a scene when a fucking priest was climbing son mountain in Africa, I was already like fuck this shit! But great review, keep it up!
October 14, 2010 at 9:28 pm
sorry I meant to say “climbing a mountain in Africa”
October 14, 2010 at 9:33 pm
Ending was hilarious!
October 14, 2010 at 11:40 pm
That statue that the priest is looking at is in the gorillaz video for Rock it and in the storyboard for the song rhinestone eyes pretty cool
October 15, 2010 at 3:59 am
no the 3rd one is way more messed up and more available
October 15, 2010 at 7:32 am
I swear I partied with Pazoozoo at a Grateful Dead show.
October 15, 2010 at 1:09 pm
its pazuzu supposedly … and i dont think hes that bad. in history they said even he was a good god at one time.
October 15, 2010 at 8:32 pm
DAAAAAAAAAAAA DAAAAAAAAAA DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
October 16, 2010 at 2:52 pm
hahahahahahaha Christopher Nolan! lol i love monster madness
October 17, 2010 at 12:40 am
I have then movie because James Earl Jones is in it and that if i get one movie and there is a part 2 and 3 and so on, I have to get the rest to have the set, even if the movies are bad
October 17, 2010 at 10:55 am
would it be fucked up if I said Linda Blair got hot?
October 18, 2010 at 3:57 am
John Boorman was Warner Brothers’ first choice to direct the first film, but it is true he didn’t like the script. I guess Boorman wanted to just be more sadistic telling Ned Beatty to “SQUEEEEEEEEAL!” at the time since WB was also filming “Deliverance” around 1972.
I did get more just watching the trailer with Ennio Morricone’s Rock version of his score. DAAA DAAA DAAAAAA (WHIP CRACK!)
October 20, 2010 at 2:38 pm
Haha… oh wow, I had no idea that 2nd Exorcist was like that. No wonder we never hear about it and it is never shown on TV. And, you say it was booed out of theaters? Wow!
The bit about James Earl Jones being in the locust costume recording Vader’s lines was hilarious, and that one stuck in at the end with him going “nooooooooo” had me laughing out loud!
October 20, 2010 at 3:11 pm
This movie made me go “What The Fuck”.
October 23, 2010 at 5:37 pm
I Still Can’t Belive A Movie Like This Can Be That ridiculous…..
October 25, 2010 at 8:35 pm
I caught this on Bravo a few years ago, and suffered through it for some reason…I guess I just wanted to torture myself. It is every bit as bad as you say it is: bad script, bad acting, and a plot that makes no fucking sense. At least James Earl Jones is in it; that’s something, I guess.
October 26, 2010 at 2:58 pm
James Earl Jones voiced Darth Vader while wearing the locust costume.
Cannot be unseen 0_0
October 30, 2010 at 6:04 pm
In fairness James, ‘The Hurt Locker’ and ‘No Country for Old Men’ DO have a lot of blood, dead bodies, and explosions….
November 6, 2010 at 11:49 pm
This creeps me out just from the 3 or 4 clips from the original
November 11, 2010 at 2:55 am
All I saw was the original Exorcist (that messy Director’s Cut) and Exorcist III.
They were decent. You had balls to watch the second.
November 15, 2010 at 3:53 pm
Now I can knock another futurama reference off the list: Pazuzu the gargoyle.
November 22, 2010 at 7:46 am
lol nurse rachet
November 25, 2010 at 7:00 pm
The James Earl Jones recording Vader’s lines in costume part made my day and still does.
December 1, 2010 at 6:56 am
Linda blair was hot in this movie, besides that,it sucked.
March 1, 2011 at 10:03 pm
April 18, 2011 at 4:42 pm
LOL nice easter egg at the very end.
I’m glad you mentioned Exorcist III…it has one of the scariest scenes I’ve ever seen. Looking forward to a future review of that one.
June 14, 2011 at 6:20 pm
what is the music at the end of your review?
September 20, 2011 at 7:56 pm
Wow, did the angry nerd come out around 4:30?
October 30, 2011 at 6:05 pm
I liked t his film, mainly for adult Regan and James Earl Jones Funny to think he’d be recording Star Wars voiceovers while in the locust outfit!
December 11, 2011 at 2:40 pm
December 17, 2011 at 6:24 pm
this is terrible i rather watch the prequel than this the prequel to the first exorcist
March 21, 2012 at 6:25 am
James Earl Jones should be on a Top 10 Essential Motherfuckers of All Time. That genius alone was pretty much part of every single core moment during most of our nostalgia days!
Being myself a spanish-speaker, For actors this huge is that i always prefer subs over dubbing.
March 24, 2012 at 6:30 pm
This is a pretty bad sequel. However Exorcist III proves a good sequel could be made. Though it was originally written to be a sequel to Exorcist at all and only included characters from the first film as an after thought.
Still despite how bad this film is… Linda Blair was damn fine to look at at least.
October 15, 2012 at 1:18 pm
Thank you. Now I won’t see Darth Vader the same way anymore.
February 11, 2013 at 8:47 pm
LOL someone has gone a little AVGN in this review…
August 13, 2013 at 11:22 pm
am I the only who has a problem, that no one gives two shits about father karris from the first film?
October 29, 2013 at 1:49 pm
This movie was fucking dreadful (and not in a good way), it took more than 12 Red Stripes to bare this movie… I gave up on these movies after this one.. Although Douriff in ‘Legion’ is pretty persuasive as opposed to the assholes in this movie.
This movie is about as rhetorical and nonsensical as the bible it’self.
November 2, 2013 at 11:22 am
The Exorcist sucked after part 1. Gimme a break.
December 14, 2013 at 8:27 pm
What the fuck
February 18, 2014 at 6:40 pm
Yeah why would the devil not just possess the president and launch nukes all over and start ww3 instead of just messing with a little girl?
