Great review, i love this movie and you don’t talk about Bruce Le, yeah Bruce Le. It’s a Bruce Lee “clone” who does a lot of bruceleexploitation movies. It’s one of his first role and there’s a few scene where you can see him battle against monsters. Really a great movie to watch with friends and laugh all the time.

As i am living in Hong Kong, this movie was called “Chinese Superman” in direct translation. The movie look like a copy of japanese rangers’ film that mixing with shaw brother early martial art film. The Superman’ Danny Lee is famous as one of the symbol of detective’s film, like in “the Killer” with Chow Yun Fat.

2 interesting notes about the movie:
1. Well known Bruceploitation star Bruce Le, plays a supporting role as a member of Earth’s defense force against the monsters and actually fights off several of the monsters in the movie. This was before his Bruceploitation days.
2. Inframan’s human form was played by Danny Lee, who would later re-invent as a star in police dramas where he usually played a police officer or as in his older age a police chief and is also well known for playing Detective Li Ying, the foil to Chow Yun Fat’s assasin character Ah Jong in John Woo’s The Killer.
In later years, Lee has received numerous awards from police organizations for his dedication to showing realistic police procedures and donating money to the families of slain officers. He was also given the honorary title “Lee Sir” (“Officer Lee”) by the local police. He is also a successful producer and director and owns his own company that mainly produces NC-17 rated films. He’s also credited with discovering comedian and Shaolin Soccer/Kung Fu Hustle star Stephen Chow and even directed one of Chow’s first comedies, Legend of the Dragon.
