October 12, 2010 at 3:07 am

October 12, 2010 at 3:08 am
ah i remember this movie, it was the best movie ever but i was disappointed by the ending
October 12, 2010 at 3:10 am
Ahahaha. After all that ridiculous shit Peter Cushing just surprises Drac with a stake in the heart? Talk about a lame ending to an otherwise crazy looking movie!
October 12, 2010 at 3:14 am
One of those movies I’ve been meaning to see for years
Might have to get around to it now
October 12, 2010 at 3:16 am
Oooh. Big embedded video…
Just got done watching your previous Monster Madness videos. Got pumped up for some of the movies, most of them being Godzilla films. Never thought I’d be interested in Godzilla or b-movies and black and white films…
This movie looks interesting but the ending sure as hell seems disappointing. The rest looks like it could make up for it, though. 😀
October 12, 2010 at 3:17 am
This movie sounds A-FUCKIN-MAZING!!!!!
October 12, 2010 at 3:32 am
all you needed to do was add “i give it four stars. james says check it out” and the last quarter would have been a perfect homage!
October 12, 2010 at 4:03 am
Haven’t heard of this one!! Thanks James XD
October 12, 2010 at 4:33 am
Great choice: this one’s become such a cult classic that the newly resurrected Hammer studios are thinking of doing a remake, along with one of another cult favourite of that time, “Captain Kronos; Vampire Hunter”!
Sadly though, I should mention that the director of this one, Roy Ward Baker, passed away last week.
It’s a real shame, because as well as doing this and a few other great Hammer and Amicus movies (including a favourite of mine, “Quatermass and the Pit”), he also made the best Titanic movie ever, “A Night to Remember”.
October 12, 2010 at 5:59 am
Looks good. Too bad they couldn’t get Christopher Lee in the film.
October 12, 2010 at 6:11 am
whats with censoring the tits!!!!!!
October 12, 2010 at 6:31 am
The ending might suck, but the rest is made of pure and utter win. Saw a few familiar faces in there of other kung fu movies I like.
October 12, 2010 at 7:04 am
This movie is due for a Remake. Now that people aren’t so locked up in Stereotypes I think the ideas in it could be used to make something better than what Hollywood is churning out now. And maybe they’d get someone to be Dracula who’d actually be willing to stick around through the whole thing.
October 12, 2010 at 7:16 am
I remember this coming on TV years ago at some stupid time in the morning… Everyone I told about it thought i was making it up… What a classic 🙂
October 12, 2010 at 7:51 am
Hammer Films fucking kick ass! This film RULES!
October 12, 2010 at 9:41 am
When I saw this movie, I thought that this is the worst Hammer Horror film I’ve ever seen. I don’t think kung-fu and vampires go together well like bread and butter, but more like dead skunk and dogshit!
October 12, 2010 at 9:43 am
If he is gonna make these the whole month ,then i hope he does a cool one on the 30th IT’S MAH B-DAY.
October 12, 2010 at 9:44 am
I turn 16 btw.
October 12, 2010 at 9:52 am
It truly is a great movie, I wished James had spent onger reviewing it, rather than the more boring Dracula vs Frakenstein movies http://www.vizzed.com/vizzedboard/index.php?ref=65348
October 12, 2010 at 10:09 am
Seems pretty weak…
October 12, 2010 at 10:25 am
this is a great one for my birthday today I’m 25
October 12, 2010 at 10:28 am
maybe they didn’t like that Christopher Lee wouldn’t play dracula so they tried to do as little scens as possible with Dracula
i dont know the mvoie looked cool but then again is it worth buying?
October 12, 2010 at 11:25 am
Horror and kung fu, now that is truely frightening.
October 12, 2010 at 1:38 pm
Kung Fu Vampires? Well we’re pretty much fucked at this point.
October 12, 2010 at 1:46 pm
hey Revs85 its my b-day too im 23
October 12, 2010 at 1:52 pm
This sounds awesome!
October 12, 2010 at 2:59 pm
This DOES sound awesome! I mean sure its low on plot but its a martial arts movie from 1974, when did THEY have plots?
October 12, 2010 at 3:51 pm
Great review! But silly you censored the titties but still showed the throat slitting in its full glory!
Oh, fuck it! It’s your site, and you can do whatever the hell you want with it.
Bloody awesome, as always!
October 12, 2010 at 4:02 pm
As always, torrent is available. (no ads, no bs)
October 12, 2010 at 4:25 pm
I hope that the contestants who sent in their voice using video enhancing effects weren’t the majority of those chosen to have their submissions used. I’m just saying no special preference should have been given to them. It’s kind of like cheating anyway.
October 12, 2010 at 4:26 pm
*I meant, audio/voice effects
October 12, 2010 at 4:27 pm
70’s asian breast WOOT!
October 12, 2010 at 5:04 pm
Nothing like a healthy pair of Asian tits.
October 12, 2010 at 5:54 pm
I saw a clip from Tourist Trap at the beginning! I really hope you do a review of that movie. It’s great fun and no seems to ever know about it.
October 12, 2010 at 6:16 pm
Very Joe Bob Briggs-esk review there with the montage of wackiness. And I mean that in a good way.
October 12, 2010 at 6:26 pm
the only words there is to describe Monster Madness is FUCKIN AMAZING!
thank you for the time and effort on this great review James
October 12, 2010 at 7:22 pm
why do your videos have to end there so awesome and funny
October 12, 2010 at 7:41 pm
This movie looks like Extreme Awesomeness. Cashman approves.
(Oh, BTW, Cashman is not a word on Word Press or whatever you use, but Awesomeness is? Even with the extra E?)
October 12, 2010 at 7:48 pm
It is nice to see Christopher Lee leave the typecast role of Dracula and do more serious and challenging work, like Willy Wonka’s father and Count Dooku.
October 12, 2010 at 8:18 pm
Peter Cushing’s Van Helsing costume looks surprisingly similar to his costume he had to wear in that 1965 movie/remake (original content being called “The Daleks”, which is a serial in Doctor Who, first broadcast in 1963) “Dr Who & The Daleks” and again in the 1966 movie/remake “Daleks’ Invasion Earth: 2150 A.D” (remake of “The Daleks Invasion Of Earth” which was first broadcast in 1964).
I went off on a tangent there. Sorry. But if you saw the costume in those 2 films, and the costume that Peter Cushing had in this, and if you were a Doctor Who fan, you’d make the same observation.
October 12, 2010 at 9:45 pm
YES!!! WIDESCREEN! 16:9!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do this for all nerd videos from now on 🙂
October 12, 2010 at 9:52 pm
Regarding things getting censored… nudity is still something different then guts and such. Plus, this stuff will end up on YouTube eventually and that’s a no-no on there. It’d be a hassle to do two different videos.
October 12, 2010 at 10:16 pm
Only one form? Man, that Dracula got ripped off. Even Castlevania series Drac’s get at least 2 forms.
October 13, 2010 at 1:51 am
So much wasted potential in this move, it seems.
October 13, 2010 at 2:32 am
Widescreen! Thumbs up!
Entertaining as always James I’m curious tho, why do you feel the need to edit the boobage whilst showing the gory carnage? You don’t really think tits are more harmful than exploding/melting heads/limbs/people/undead etc., do you? Not that I’m judging, I just find it a curious idiosyncrasy of the US in general.

When I first saw the trailer for this year’s schlock-a-thon Monster Madness, I was really hoping that you’d include “Doctor Gore” (formerly “The Body Shop”).
During the summer of 1994 I was on vacation in Elk Rapids, MI with my buddy and his family. There was nothing to do one night, so we went up to the tiny mom and pop video store to pick out a couple movies. It was by total random luck, I found “Doctor Gore.” The box didn’t even have any cover art. It was just one of those handwritten VHS cases, so we we rented it on title alone, completely unaware what we were in for. We watched it twice that night, pissing ourselves with laughter both times.
During the following years, it remained a constant source of amusement and nostalgia between us. We tried to explain how awesome it was to our friends, but nobody ever really gave a shit. I figured it was because they needed to see it for themselves to fully understand. So for the rest of the ’90s I searched mid-Michigan for a copy- whether to own or to rent- but I kept striking out.
Then, out of nowhere, it was suddenly released on DVD in 2002! I remember seeing the Best Buy ad that showed off the new released of the coming Tuesday, but I couldn’t believe that this obscure piece of shit was really among them! It was amazing enough that it was getting a DVD release at all, but to actually be featured in the Best Buy ad.
I went to bed early the night before it came out, and I made sure to get to the store before they opened. It’s not that I was expecting to see a line of people around the corner, ready to crash the doors the minute they were unlocked, but I did have a sneaking suspicion that I wouldn’t be the only idiot who was there in search of it. But nobody was there to race me to the horror section. As I recall, they only had a few copies (maybe 3 or 4), and I got the very first one.
The movie *is* a piece of shit, but it holds a very special place in my heart. In fact, if I ever become master of a hunchback, I plan to name him Greg.
Well done on the reviews, James. Maybe it’ll make the cut next year.
October 13, 2010 at 2:46 pm
“Well, that sucked” 😀
October 13, 2010 at 3:35 pm
I love this movie! Shame on you James You missed the funniest bit when all the good guys are introduced…
“my brother Lo the axe man…. my brother Fo the bows man…. my brother chu the swordsman” its classic!
October 15, 2010 at 7:17 am
LOL…………Dracula finally moves to Asia.
October 15, 2010 at 8:08 am
October 15, 2010 at 10:03 pm
Ah, so this was the first time Dracula moved to Asia. Didn’t he wind up in Japan in Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow as well? Poor guy can’t even go on vacation without getting stabbed in the heart…
October 16, 2010 at 1:40 am
i have this movie on vhs and yeah i think its great … i got a kick out of it
October 18, 2010 at 8:26 pm
THE END OF HAMMER! BUT I DO LIKE THIS FILM!
October 20, 2010 at 2:16 pm
Looks like a pretty awesome movie full of gore and nudity, but a cheap ending. Still, might be worth a watch!
October 20, 2010 at 2:57 pm
A lot of action here it seems.
October 21, 2010 at 4:28 pm
I have seen a few kung fu Vampire movies, but not this one. I could atch old crapy Kung Fu movies all day, Oh wait I do.

August 13, 2011 at 9:46 pm
I watched this movie a while ago. It’s preeeeetty bad but it has plenty of tits to keep you mildly interested.
November 13, 2011 at 5:10 pm
I still think it’s weird that you can show a dismembered hand, but you can’t show naked boobies 😛 I guess you have to be American in order to understand that 😉
November 29, 2011 at 8:56 am
One of their last films ? I guess u mean one of the last of the classic monster series ?
February 11, 2012 at 1:04 pm
You should review Blacula.
August 3, 2012 at 4:48 pm
of course I own this whacky Hammer flick.
May 3, 2016 at 3:49 am
