As hinted several times before, an AVGN feature film is planned. The script was finished two years ago, and it may still take another two years or so before it’s finally made.Β For the moment, my main priority is keeping up with the online videos. I know this will stir up some early hype, but I just want to let everyone know that it’s planned. The video explains it better.

September 23, 2010 at 2:04 am
That is kick ass James I cant wait! Cant wait for the 31 days of crappy movies, love this site!
September 23, 2010 at 2:06 am
What awesome news on my 32nd birthday.
James, all I know is this: There are a lot of people here who get really impatient waiting for each new nerd video, and I can understand why. I mean, I love them as much as anybody. You remind me a great deal of myself so watching them is almost like a slice of my own childhood.
Still, there are some who get really demanding and beg for this or that, or ask what the wait is all about, etc. Personally, I think what you do is really entertaining and I think that if it takes time, then I can wait. If there’s going to be an AVGN movie I think it will be great and I think you should take as much time as you want or need to make it exactly how you want to. I’m sure we’ll all love it.
I haven’t heard of this before so I’m stoked- but I’ll still be here excited to see it regardless of how long it will take.
I guess all this ass-kissing is just my way of saying we all love what you do, even if I think patience and gratitude isn’t given nearly enough. So keep up the good work, I think I speak for everybody when I say we’re all looking forward to this project.
September 23, 2010 at 2:12 am
AWESOMMEE!!! you really work hard to keep us entertained James. I hope your movie makes it to the big screens worldwide!
September 23, 2010 at 2:26 am
That is beyond awesome.
September 23, 2010 at 2:30 am
Sweeeet! Good luck with it, James.
You have my full support, though mostly mental.
Break a leg!
September 23, 2010 at 2:35 am
One has to wonder if Super MECHA Death Christ will be a supporting character.
September 23, 2010 at 2:42 am
Awesome! Zentu is Pleased. So you gona open the movie with a small snipit of you playing that super mario Bros.? Course, lets not forget about Mike, and the Couch man. September 23, 2010 at 3:00 am
And you must have Mafat Conspiracy as you’re worst enemy !
September 23, 2010 at 3:00 am
Heh. I thought it was a joke when I saw the add for the Philly Cheese. But I have to say I’m both thrilled and envious of your James. Thrilled that a movie from a guy who’s got a terrifyingly similar taste if humor, drama, terror, suspense, and ect is making a movie that I could see along the lines of Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure; is going to be interesting and different to see to say the least.
And envious… well. Your doing what alot of us wish we could do, and I won’t lie that I’m not one of them. But James, even though I’m no AVGN or filmmaker of your skill or passion, your still an inspiration James. And I know that this video of yours is going to inspire someone to do what they’ve always wanted to do.
Your great James, thank you for doing what you do.
September 23, 2010 at 3:07 am
I thought of a structure similar to Wayne’s World as soon as I imagined How you could pull off the Nerd in a film. This sounds brilliant James! Good luck with this one; I’m sure I’m not the only one that is beyond psyched to see how this turns out!
September 23, 2010 at 3:12 am
Very awesome tease sir. And to those who are bitching about not getting more NERD videos sooner: STOP IT!
I mean, its a great thing to want to be in demand like this and its only through hard work that you cinemassacre folks have cultivated it. Its a great thing that you’ve built up such passionate users to you and your work. But to us passionate users: You gotta allow space for the creation to come to fruition. Some GREAT things are on the horizon. Patience will make it happen folks. In short, stop yer bitchin!
Now the potential of this AVGN movie and what it will/could be will be swimming in my head til the day I see it. This is the SGT. PEPPERS to your work. Everything is leading up to this. Good luck with it. Cause us real passionate users you’ve cultivated are now frothing at the mouth!
Keep up the good work guys! Can’t wait! My balls are erect with excitement for this news!
September 23, 2010 at 3:16 am
james allways said he had something big planned for E.T i think this is is
September 23, 2010 at 3:18 am
All I can Say Is that I never even tought of u lettin the nerd die, your videos have bieng twice as long regularly this year, and damn good! I did get a little worried about a nerd movie…. it was hard to embrace just by the title, kinda like the ATHF colon MFFT ( what a bunch of bull…) movie… that wasn’t that good, but not so bad either (pleased no one)… but after seeing all of cinemmasacre and your point of view in movies, im sure THIS is something u have your heart and talent on.. and will be worth watching, and from CR I hope you hit it big so you can make all of your projects bro.
PS, if u get to pic which countries this will show teathers on, pic Costa Rica, at least for a night, a have a handfull of friends that will go see it :)…. or.. I can just wait for the DVD……
September 23, 2010 at 3:19 am
WOW, great news James! Thanks for the info! For some reason I can’t help but think of Pee-wee’s Big Adventure when I try to imagine AVGN’s movie.
I really do hope you manage to get a wide release so maybe I could see it in Malta. I’m sure that if AVGN manages to reach a lot of screens he will become very popular!
Anyways, if you need anything, just ask. I can’t be physically present during filming because of the long distances but anything I can do online, I’m here to help.
September 23, 2010 at 3:21 am
james allways said he had something big planned for E.T i think this is it.
September 23, 2010 at 3:39 am
I think I just did a little man-squee-ing. Is that a word? At all? Soooo ready, the word SHALL BE SPREAD!
September 23, 2010 at 3:45 am
If your movie ever requires a “Guy in wheelchair” I’m your man!
September 23, 2010 at 4:15 am
I can see it now, AVGN movie opens all doors for you and people recognize you as a serious filmmaker. Hope it all works out!
September 23, 2010 at 4:18 am
dude…….. This is the best news ive heard in a long time.
If it does hit theaters, you can count on me being there opening night.
If it has a small release and hits select theaters, i will find it and be there opening night.
If it gets a Independent film release at a film festival, i will find the festival, make the trip regardless of how far and i will be there for the first showing.
This is amazing news.
I cant wait to hear more.
This would be a awesome way to get the Nerd to appeal to more than just the internet audience.
keep us posted……. you have all your fans foaming at the mouth now.
The Nerd is my homeboy, consider the word spread.
Holy crap this is amazing, i just cant believe this is real.
September 23, 2010 at 4:34 am
I’m almost a little sad for a couple of reasons… First, I’m all excited, and I realize it takes a long time to produce, like, years…. I wish it was in theaters, like, yesterday…
2nd, I realized that when this does hit mainstream, The Nerd won’t be ours anymore. Not our little internet secret. My mom will be quoting Nerd stuff, and my favorite ‘net character will be public property. That makes me sad…
Must be what Seattleites (people from Seattle?) felt like when the rest of the world discovered their music scene… sigh…
But, for now, you’re our Nerd! I’ll cherish all the remaining intimate time with you and the Nerd community..
September 23, 2010 at 4:36 am
Sounds pretty awesome to me, thumbs up for always delivering exciting content to your fans and thinking out of the box
September 23, 2010 at 4:36 am
Nah. Do Action 52: The Motion Picture instead!
September 23, 2010 at 4:47 am
How can we support you on that project?
September 23, 2010 at 4:48 am
WOOOOOOW! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!
Go go Bill Murray as a Nerd. joke π That would be nice movie.
September 23, 2010 at 4:50 am
You could use Kickstarter to get funds for the movie π
Good luck James.
September 23, 2010 at 4:58 am
good luck James!.
I can’t wait to see Nerd movie in theaters
September 23, 2010 at 5:01 am
I’ve been expecting something like this, i hope to see this at AT LEAST the sundance film festival π
And as you where explaining it I was also thinking about peewee’s big adventure and saturday night life characters being enlarged on the big screen.
Can’t wait to hear more!
September 23, 2010 at 5:01 am
Nice to hear that. I can already imagine what it is like, since you already spoiled the whole movie by comparing it to Wayne’s World.
Looking forward to it, I guess it won’t have a release schedule like Duke Nukem Forever ^^
September 23, 2010 at 5:02 am
How can you set an avatar on this site? Can’t find it in Worpress options -.-
September 23, 2010 at 5:07 am
This will make the wait between Nerd episodes even more worth it than it already is. Best of luck on all the projects James!
September 23, 2010 at 5:17 am
ROCK ON MOTHERFUCKER
September 23, 2010 at 5:19 am
Very cool, James.
I see where you’re getting at, and I’m looking forward to see it.
I, too, want to make movies or series, someday. So, go ahead, and make your dreams come true. π
September 23, 2010 at 5:21 am
I REALLY hope screwattack keeps their fingers off this.
September 23, 2010 at 5:24 am
But will there be a lot of actual reviews? Or will it just be plot shenanigans featuring you dressed as the nerd? Because that would suck. I mean you’re great, but make a new character for that.
September 23, 2010 at 5:34 am
I fuckin love you man!!!
September 23, 2010 at 5:37 am
@WillWill if you think about it he’s not really just ours, there are tons of people on youtube that watch his stuff, fanboys that have never even came to the site cinemassacre.com, but I’m sure James will always post content that he wants on here
September 23, 2010 at 5:41 am
I bloody hope I get to see this in a theatre all the way over in ENGLAND! this is epic news james, I love you
September 23, 2010 at 5:58 am
I think an AVGN movie is the best way to start off your projects for a few reasons. For one, the AVGN has a great following on YouTube and GameTrailers/Screwattack. Also, with the rising popularity of video games, a video game centric movie could be a big hit.
Best of luck to you James.
September 23, 2010 at 6:06 am
Pretty cool.. I’ll spread the word! π
September 23, 2010 at 6:15 am
You better film this with an Imax camera :P, you are going world wide !
AVGN the movie in 3D awesome !
September 23, 2010 at 6:25 am
This is very interesting. However, i would like to give you a small advice. If this movie is about AVGN, stay away from melodrama.
It doesn’t have to have any over-sentimental or emotional scenes. At all. This is a cliche and i know that you don’t like cliches in movies. I know that maybe you are planning to flesh out the character more, but there are other ways to do it.
For instance, i’ve seen a few fan-made video game movies like Megaman, Zelda, Street-fighter etc and they use so much melodrama and over-dramatic acting that they completely miss the point so much that they become ridiculous. Neither Megaman or Streetfighter were about emotions. And even Zelda could be just a little less than a drama. AVGN falls in the same category. He is a funny guy who lose his temper over shitty videogames. I’m sure nobody wants him to be some guy with daddy issues in the end or something. Its a mistake that many professional filmmakers also do.
But of course thats just my opinion, as a fan. You also mentioned Wayne’s World, so that means that i probably shouldn’t worry about this. Anyway, good luck James.
September 23, 2010 at 6:28 am
i bet the game review is something huge like E.T.
September 23, 2010 at 6:32 am
I sure as fuck hope it’s not in 3D….god I can’t wait for that fad to end. I trust in James to make a movie with a engrossing storyline not something that relies on effects.
I’ve been a follower from the start, seen everything on this site at least twice and have been racking my brain on how I can contribute or work with these guys ( If I lived in the area I probably already would have ). So James, Mike or whoever is reading this…feel free to contact me at any time if you need anything at all for any project. I am a musician, comedian and a writer.
[email protected]
September 23, 2010 at 6:40 am
YEAH! I love you man! I wanna see that film! And I want Mike Matei in it too!
September 23, 2010 at 6:41 am
I’m ALL for this as long as it means we’re not going to lose the Nerd in the event James blows up and goes mainstream. That’s the only thing I fear. Not that I don’t wish him the best, because I do but his video’s have become such a staple in my life that I selfishly don’t wanna see them end lol.
September 23, 2010 at 6:42 am
RAD JAMES RAD !!! – This is the best fuckin news I have heard in quite some time – I know you have a script … but the nerd should get a DELOREAN & go back in time to warn kids to not blow there pocket money on shitty games – good luck man !!!
September 23, 2010 at 6:47 am
WOW, man, just WOW
September 23, 2010 at 6:48 am
i have mixed feelings about this i mean i love the idea of an avgn movie but i dont wanna see the nerd go mainstream….oh well we’ll see what happens, and i do wish you the best of luck james!
September 23, 2010 at 6:51 am
Very nice, this is something I’m looking forward to, it might be a sad departure (community wise) but I think this won’t kill the nerd, or your moviemaking themes in any way shape or form.
I think you also mentioned something about making a funny horror movie? That’d be really great! We all remember how Mr. Bucket turned out, it was funny as shit but still kinda scary you know, when I first watched that I was at a friend’s place, and he said he had a Mr. Bucket in his closet so that was some scary shit right there, great confirmation James, keep up the good shit, we all love you!
September 23, 2010 at 6:58 am
Amazing news! Its gonna be awesome, no doubt about that. Kevin will have to be in it, as the ninja. Ninja GAAAAAAAAAAAAAIDEN!
September 23, 2010 at 7:02 am
This is awesome!
September 23, 2010 at 7:05 am
Take your time, James. I’m sure it will be fantastic.
September 23, 2010 at 7:07 am
Nice am looking forward to the movie π And take your time james, we all want it to be as awesome as possible
September 23, 2010 at 7:07 am
Awesome news James, and if that means you’ll have to stop making monthly Nerd episodes for a couple of months, then so be it.
You have to pursue your dreams!
September 23, 2010 at 7:23 am
James you’re my hero.
September 23, 2010 at 7:26 am
Some weird part in my body says that the game review in the movie is ET.
September 23, 2010 at 7:29 am
Thanks for the update, James. I always look forward to your projects.
September 23, 2010 at 7:40 am
This is the best news I’ve ever heard!
September 23, 2010 at 7:41 am
Dude, that’s awesome. I look forward to it.
The way you keep flapping that script around at the camera makes me want to grab and read it!
Anyhoo, I’m not worried about you “walking away” or about the rate at which you release your videos. You do a good job. Don’t worry about people’s complaints.
In short, you rock.
September 23, 2010 at 7:41 am
Ever since I started watching your Nerd Vids I always thought that would be a great charactor to expand on. When I finally found your Cinemassacre site and found out your true passion were movies I thought now there’s a chance it will happen. Good luck with all your future endevors.
September 23, 2010 at 7:42 am
I hope the movie does get made, and even if it doesn’t run in theaters, I’ll still support it..
September 23, 2010 at 7:43 am
Holy nerdiness, Batman! That’s some really great news!
September 23, 2010 at 7:44 am
Break a leg James! Don’t forget us little people when you’re the biggest man in the world. . .and you’re made of solid gold. 24 KARAT GOLD! MWAAA HAA HAAA HAA
September 23, 2010 at 7:46 am
Best of luck to you, James. Even if you do eventually move on from the AVGN, it’ll be nice to see your work.
September 23, 2010 at 7:49 am
I’m with Nintari!
This will be amazing, and blow my fucking balls off. The release of this movie will indeed be the greatest day of my life.
BUT.
I hope we won’t lose the good ol’ nerd. I don’t hope everything goes out of hand and you can’t even curse if you know what i mean.
But anyways, AMAZING fucking NEWS. OMG.
Can’t wait for October, too.
September 23, 2010 at 7:59 am
Dude your truly one of the most talented people on the net. If Pure Pwnage could get a TV Show deal, i’m sure some distributor will pick it up!. I hope you have heard of Pure Pwnage, great web series turned TV show. The Nerd is a character with endless possibilities, could spawn sequels. One of my favorite reviews was the SwordQuest ep. the way you explain how someone needs to reclaim that sword, sounded like a movie all on its own. hell think about this, someone said heres a great idea, lets make a movie about star wars fanboys who steal Phantom menace! now thats a great movie, and having said that it reminds me of the nerd with swordquest. i know that wont be in it but it was a funny thought i had lol. keep up the great work James! cant wait for Oct. 1st!
September 23, 2010 at 8:14 am
James, that is the best news I’ve ever heard. I love your movies, as you may figure, but your real serious ones like The Deader the Better, Cinephobia and The Head Incident are my favourites.
I am also a film maker with huge passion for making movies and I can really see myself in your position.
To combine the nerd with your love for movies is a great idea and I’m really looking forward to it.
And, also, I’m studying film-making right now and has done so for the past two years (taking courses sence 2002) and if you want any help at aal from Sweden, I can do whatever you need.
September 23, 2010 at 8:20 am
:O :O :O :O
September 23, 2010 at 8:22 am
Oh hell yes.. I’d gladly donate a few of my many pennies for this little venture.
September 23, 2010 at 8:24 am
Wow man. That’s pretty amazing that you actually got a script done, and 2 years ago! I mean, where do you find all this time to do all this creative stuff? Its pretty impressive that you are actually in some kind of planning stages for a full length movie and its obviously one of those thing that if you want it to get done, you just have to do it. So, for you to be on the verge of taking that plunge, and investing into a project on that scale, must be very exciting for you. Sure there are risks, but its something you have to do! It’s so cool to see someone who is passionate about what they do, and we can tell that this is why you do what you do, James. Good luck!
September 23, 2010 at 8:35 am
Holy crap. That’s all I can say. Holy crap. HOLY SHIT!!!
And if the movie requires a 14 or 15 year old (my approximate age by the time the movie starts being a full production), I’m definitely here. Seriously, I’m not kidding. I’ll act. Why am I still talking? I have no fucking idea.
September 23, 2010 at 8:39 am
OMG can’t wait for the Nerd movie hope it gets into theatres.
although it can be a while π
September 23, 2010 at 8:52 am
This news totally made my day… week… month… year……. life!
September 23, 2010 at 9:05 am
ET Review?! π
Anyway: fucking excited!
September 23, 2010 at 9:07 am
I’m gonna preorder the Blu ray special edition man!
September 23, 2010 at 9:14 am
oh i hope its in theaters around the world i am only 13 and i live in Canada so trying to find the select theaters mite be tricky but either way i’m buying this movie… 10 times just so you get more money to make those horror movies.
September 23, 2010 at 9:19 am
Agh. I was hoping your first feature was going to be you going back to your horror movie roots. I like the AVGN but..
September 23, 2010 at 9:24 am
Hope it’s a lot like Pee Wee’s Big adventure! Regardless, I’m buying it, no doubt about it.
September 23, 2010 at 9:25 am
I think this is a good way to get your AVGN fans interested in your other work as well. Anytime you put out a video or short film that doesn’t have to do with the nerd, I see too many comments along the lines of, “This isn’t AVGN you assclown!” which is rather annoying. I have yet to see all there is to see on your site, but I’ve seen quite a bit, and you are very good at what you do. I look forward to the movie, and anything else you get to do along the way.
September 23, 2010 at 9:26 am
i think watching this video brought a tear in my eye, yes it’s a f*ckin’ tear xD
September 23, 2010 at 9:26 am
I am really looking forward to this movie, I liked the comparison to Wayne’s world and I think that i’d be disappointed if it WAS a 2 hour review. I can’t wait to see a look into the Nerd’s world.
September 23, 2010 at 9:36 am
Niiice!
September 23, 2010 at 9:38 am
I really hope that you’ll post the AVGN Movie on CineMassacre… π
September 23, 2010 at 9:39 am
ooohhhh boy, this is HEAVY ! i’ll go see it if it ever come in theaters someday. even if I’m french, i hope there will be copies (and not translated please god XD!) in france. And don’t forget: the french AVGN community is with you. just one thing james, take your time, do what you want when you want, that’s th only rule to have a good movie. π
September 23, 2010 at 9:44 am
And I’ll pay to see the movie in theaters, dvd or even bluray (even if i don’t have a bluray player…. i’ll buy one just to see that XD).
The time remaining will be sooo long.
September 23, 2010 at 10:07 am
Well if Fred can get a movie in the cinema (well at least in the UK for some reason) I don’t see how hard it could be getting The AVGN movie in any cinema.
September 23, 2010 at 10:09 am
glad to see that you already have the script for this!!!
but I cant wait to see a review of the TMNT classic cartoon that you have in plans also
(I want to make movies too!! I wish I could make a new Sinbad movie xD )
September 23, 2010 at 10:17 am
Man holy shit I did not know about this so I am extremely stoked. I hope it will play in a theater near me. Damn James, you really are a machine. I don’t know how you do it but thanks for doing it. Every week I get a small piece of nostalgia from this site and it is something I would never give up. Best of luck on the film and everything else.
September 23, 2010 at 10:27 am
Fuck Yeah! I can wait a couple months without an AVGN episode if it means your taking it to that step! Good for you James for following through with what you’ve always wanted to do, that takes balls man.
September 23, 2010 at 10:38 am
oh man, oh god.. oh man, oh god.. oh man, oh god.. oh man, oh god.. oh man, oh god.. oh man, oh god.. oh man, oh god.. oh man, oh god..
September 23, 2010 at 10:50 am
awesome. totally awesome. and also… badass.
September 23, 2010 at 10:56 am
This sounds great. It sounds like you’re on the right track if your using Rocky and Wayne’s World as the spark for the AVGN feature film. I have to admire people like you who chase after their dreams and don’t give up like most of us have. Keep making movies and keep pursuing your dream because if you don’t, the opportunity will pass you by and I know all about that.
As a fan, I want to see an AVGN movie that is true to the spirit and effort that you put into all your videos. Most other people would just throw something together with a few gross out laughs and turn it ino a Jackass-type movie. I know that’s not what you’re about. I enjoy low-brow humor just as much as anyone, but I think that if you really want to make an impression don’t make it the focal point. Of course, with AVGN you have to include some low-brow stuff but it’s hard to hit the right dramatic notes if you veer off too much in that direction.
I’m really looking forward to what you have in store. I’d be happy to help anyway I can once the time comes. I live in nyc so if you’re filming any scenes here and need extras or even volunteers to do some grunt work, I’d be happy to do it if time permits.
Good Luck James. Keep making movies and we’ll keep watching.
September 23, 2010 at 10:57 am
Oh, man I can’t wait! And if you need an actor, I’m your man. ^_^
September 23, 2010 at 10:58 am
This is the big news about AVGN? I’m disappointed.
James says it right there AVGN was a side project that took on a life of it’s own. The problem is James could never just allow it to have a life of it’s own, even though AVGN is the biggest thing going on here James decided to use it to try and pull along the rest of the stuff he wants to do.
I mean really, AVGN should have a web site of it’s own, I mean what a brand disconnect that I have to go to cinemassacre.com to get updated on AVGN….
This “Movie” will probably end up playing out like Kick Assia on the nostaliga critic site. What studio would release a world wide movie about a character no one outside of the internet’s niche video game demographic?
Anyway, sad to see you flubbing up your masterstroke. You should’ve kept pumping out 2 episodes a week of AVGN and ignored the rest of your stuff (like board james and such) until you had the world by the balls and could do anything you wanted to.
If anything AVGN should be doing a documentary where James goes to all the video game devs and asks them about shitty games and how they got involved in making them, maybe even meet with LJN and make them apologize.
Instead we’re getting AVGN Wayne’s World with 0 budget. Awesome………………………………………………………………….
September 23, 2010 at 10:58 am
i hope it cames to the theaters here in portugal.
OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
September 23, 2010 at 11:07 am
Going to the cinema to see an AVGN movie?
…AWESOME

@Billistic
I never do this kind of thing but I have to say it. You’re a douche. You don’t like it? Shut the fuck up and don’t watch the movie…even though it’s gonna be awesome and you’ll be missing out. He’s a film maker! Let him make a fucking feature film and stop being such a pussy ass bitch!
ANYWHO, now that that’s out of the way.
I’m really excited about this! I hope there’s a scene where the nerd suits up! I have a vision of a closet full of white button downs. ha.
September 23, 2010 at 11:25 am
Seriously dude, you rock!
September 23, 2010 at 11:30 am
Let me know if you’re going to hold auditions. I’m willing to travel for auditions or send a video audition.
September 23, 2010 at 11:32 am
@ Billistic
James has given you hundreds of hours of entertainment FOR FREE. Why do you act like he owes you ANYTHING?
QUIT BEING SO SELFISH. NOT EVERYTHING IS ABOUT PLEASING JUST YOU.
An artist has to evolve to stay relevant; and from an outsiders perspective, it is quite clear that James is giving us as much variety as possible to entertain us all.
If James ONLY did Nerd, it would get very stale, and fast. The move to 1 episode per month, even though the decision was a practical move, it was brilliant nonetheless. It has made each episode so much sweeter when it finally does co. This movie will be no different. I can hardly contain myself!
September 23, 2010 at 11:42 am
I wanted to say this because I don’t think many people say it enough.
THANK YOU
to James and the Cinemassacre crew. You work your asses off for a miniscule amount of money, I’m sure. You don’t have to do this for us, but I can tell you love it, and we love watching it.
All the best wishes, and good luck on your future endeavors.

Although I thoroughly enjoy the AVGN series (as well as the videos you post on this site) and understand your work with Gametrailers.com and Spike TV helps pay the bills, I think the idea of a AVGN movie is something you should really reconsider. Nothing is wrong with being ambitious but if you’re absolutelty serious about filmmaking I would put this AVGN script back a drawer and focus one of those horror movies or any ideas you have for movies. What works about the AVGN series is that they are a series of small vignettes, tightly edited and produced (much like SNL skits) HOWEVER, anything beyond 10-15 minutes will seem convoluted, tired and redundant . Also for every Wayne’s World movie, there you have dozens of other SNL skits that bombed as
feature films.

I’m so buying that DVD! π
September 23, 2010 at 11:55 am
Billistic,
James owes you and everybody else nothing. We’re lucky he’s prepared to put as much time and effort into AVGN episodes as he does, let alone a movie. Go fuck yourself.
Signed,
All supporters of James and his work

Although I am equally enthused by your other projects, just as much as AVGN, this news is extremely exciting. I feel pity for those who can’t feel the same way, because they’re missing out on a lot of great stuff. This is the best possible thing that I could have imagined you doing, next to a feature horror film. Fucking yeah.
September 23, 2010 at 12:03 pm
What a good news ! I’m a big fan from France. If you need some euros to make the movie, i’ll organize a NerdThon…
September 23, 2010 at 12:04 pm
i think that you never got to stop with avgn and make one video for 2 or 3 months
September 23, 2010 at 12:04 pm
Finally E.T.-review π
September 23, 2010 at 12:08 pm
@Billistic: You’re an ungrateful asshole.
September 23, 2010 at 12:20 pm
Awesome. Can’t wait to see it.
September 23, 2010 at 12:24 pm
Oi,
Hey man, don’t worry about it, I know this is your hobbie but also something you like. If you take time with your AVGN videos s’ok, dont worry about it, I rather you continue with your big project.
There is already more than enough videos of the AVGN, so waiting for something good will be well-worth it. So just chill I’ll pass the info on friends who I made fans of your vids.
Another thing, G’luck with the movie!
September 23, 2010 at 12:28 pm
@Billistic: I see your point and I somewhat agree, but I think that, because AVGN is by far his most popular “brand”, it makes sense for him to expand on that. He can still do all the other stuff on the side, in fact, AVGN is what has made most of his other projects possible by ensuring some financial stability for James. So I see no problem with him giving the majority of his fans what they want first and foremost: more AVGN.
September 23, 2010 at 12:31 pm
@Billistic = Troll
Troll = Ignore
…Figure it out folks…
Other than that, I’m glad to hear that you’ve been slowing down on AVGN (as much as I like the videos) for a while there you were putting them out so fast you weren’t even reviewing the whole game. That’s when I thought you were going to get burned out on it, but, I’m happy to hear about your movie and I’m excited to hear (and/or see) what you come up with!
September 23, 2010 at 12:33 pm
@Billistic
Do you honestly feel that I didn’t let the Nerd have a life of its own? When the Nerd hit big in 2006, I dropped everything to pursue it 100%. I was pumping out videos at a sickening pace. I’m one person, doing the gameplay, the writing, the shooting, the acting, the editing, and running this website.
Some nights, I barely ate or slept. I have a wife that would hardly see me. I rarely got a chance to breathe the outside air. After all the sacrifices I have made to keep the AVGN videos going and the toll it’s taken on my personal life, what more do you expect?
“2 episodes a week?” Did I read that correct? You’re joking. Or you clearly have no idea how much time it takes to make a Nerd episode. If I cut corners and made these videos quicker and cheaper, you would definitely notice a huge decrease in quality. Or do you prefer quantity over quality?
I have the given AVGN 100% from the beginning and allowed the character to blossom, while working on the feature film screenplay behind the scenes. Obviously, I have taken a lot of time on the script to make it good, and I wouldn’t be making it unless I thought it was a great idea.
You’re entitle to be a doubter and say whatever you want.
September 23, 2010 at 12:33 pm
James, please ignore the trolls.
You have my support that’s for sure.
September 23, 2010 at 12:34 pm
Great news! I hope that movie will be succesful, you deserve it James. If it’s not, then at least we fans will aprreciate it. Thanks for the info.
