LikeI tried looking for you James, so that I may express my appreciation and respect for what you do, I even tried asking at the Spike booth if you were going to go by there any time soon. Most of them didn't even know who you are (lol), But one guy told me that you were just attending as a regular visitor and not as a special guest and that I may run into you in a line or panel, too bad I didn't. Hope you're there next year, I already bought my 4 day pass

Likehey man, i just wanted to say, sorry if i came off as kinda weird on the stairs after the Ray Bradburry thing. i was in a hurry and nervous. one more thing, another thing you should have addressed is the annoyance of hearing Tik Tok by kesha or whatever for four days straight thanks to just dance 2

LikeAhh man, that really sucks you couldn't get into Rifftrax. It was pretty smooth how I got into it. Right before the Vertigo Comics panel started, there was a separate line for those trying to get into DC Universe. The line had about 5 dudes in it, and a chick came around to the separate line (for vertigo.. well rifftrax really because vertigo comics are so boring) and basically said "If you're trying to get into the DC panel come to this line!" so I was like, sure whatever, because you'd get in there quicker as opposed to like the 50+ people line. So I got in to the DC panel line, and of course, didn't get into it, but I didn't care one bit, but I made it seem like I did, so they let the DC line in first as a kind of "sorry you didn't get in" apology. So I got into the Vertigo panel which was sooo boring. I have no idea what they were talking about because I fell asleep for a bit. After it was over though I got front row seats smack dab right in front of Mike, Bill, and Kevin. Sorry you couldn't get in man, they recorded the whole thing though so they might put it up on a dvd eventually. I recorded it too, just not the actual live riff.

Likewhat a load.. these things are just so overcrowded.. even if they did tickets then there would be huge lines for that. they should just not let people make lines idk.. at the ones i go to here in AZ we always just stayed after the last panel for the next one. but now they started kicking you out.. whoever planes these things needs to lay off the weed or something.

LikeJames you're a big enough celebrity now, I would demand Spike to get you special backstage privileges to any future Comiccon or any convention at that, with the ability to surpass lengthy lines, that is unless you feel the need to experience what every Comiccon attendee goes through.
But I truly believe that you have enough fans now to give you the backing you need to get more in-depth reports. I think more people respect your less gimmicky approach and your opinions in general, because you cover things like Ray Bradbury, or Machete, things that people probably would've easily overlooked. So I think if you had that "behind the scenes" access, you could cover a lot more of the major exhibits like Hall H in addition to those relatively smaller aspects.
Take it easy James and I can't wait until August for the next AVGN!

LikeImagine this then: I hear there's going to be a new anime convention in Texas that MIGHT be able to get Miyazaki as a guest. If that happens, that area will SO GET BOOKED up faster than AVGN can say ASS!
Wouldn't be surprised to see Spike TV go and cover that should that happen.

Like@ MikeMatei
Try doing that for years. I've always been stuck at that part every since I got the game, and that was if I was lucky enough to pass that one section in the water that saps up your health if you touch the walls. I never knew how to get past that gap for years. Then I see the TMNT Review, and wow, James under-reacted compared to how I reacted when I learned that you just 'walk over it'. I had thrown a fit, a major one because I was so pissed off. I had to re-watch the end of the video because I was too busy with my fit to notice how he reacted. And again, I say he under-reacted compared to me.

LikeMan, I would have loved to see James and Mike at CC :/ I checked the Spike booth and asked if they were around, but not luck. I was front row during the Family Guy/Cleveland Show/Futurama/Simpsons panels, and would have gladly saved a seat if I knew you were around.

LikeWhile I was watching James' videos, ComicCon seemed like something that might be fun if you could actually manage to see anything besides crowds. However, the one thing that kept occurring to me was that Spike must be compensating for something, with the size of that damn microphone. i think the thing would cover up half of James' face of he actually held it UP to his mouth. And Spike, compensating for something? Crazy idea, isn't it?

Like"He was at the first Comic-Con 35 years ago". Haha, that reminds me of a joke I heard at the Simpsons panel back in Comic-Con 2004.
"I was also at the first Comic-Con, but I just found parking."
Seriously it's WAAAY too crowded, it looks even worse than the last time I was there (2007).
I will say I enjoyed the coverage. Combined with all the other info out there, it makes me a happy person.

LikeComic-Con certainly needs to go back to what it was in the early 90s, Comic Books! Man they had them in Dallas, Texas in those days every single year and that's all that was there. The only video games and movies talked about were ones exclusively related to comic book characters. Now it's about anything but comic books. Comic Books are just a small portion unfortunately. I am not even sure if they still print comic books with the way this recession is and the advent of the internet.

LikeI think that they put movies, games etc. into comic-con otherwise people wouldn't notice comics, I mean when you go to Comic-con, you have a bit of spare time, you go look around, and most of the time you end up in the comic section. without, movies, games etc. being at comic-con, comics wouldn't be noticed and maybe when a person ends up in the comic section when they don't mean to, they might find an interest in these comics. so basically having these movies, games etc. at comic-con helps popularise comics to wider audiences.

That's actually really cool, that he still appreciates everyone attending, even though you'd think he'd be much more hardened by life and his state of old age....
Talking at a panel, then being wheeled beside fans for pictures, and liking it? What a fucking guy.....I have no words for that amount of class.
Great videos James! :)
