Mike / July 25th, 2010
James hits the retail portion of the show to see what’s for sale.
July 25, 2010 at 2:35 pm
What was that big chocolate chair you were sitting on? If you were king of comic-con, we all bow down to you!
I agree they should split this up into different Cons like if there is a Movie-Con, I’ll be there first day through the weekend!
BTW, who was the idiot that interrupted you? I would never do that! I would just say hi to you when you’re not filming, not while because that would be stupid!
July 25, 2010 at 2:40 pm
You’re right, it should be split! Moviecon sounds like my sort of gig. ^^
With all that merchandise, how can you not have gone insane? Immediately when I saw that poster of the Creature, I reached for my wallet, only to be disappointed by my physical absence at comicon.
Seems like you have a good time, tho, good for you!
And now that I’m addressing you (James), any chance I’ll browse through independent films and find one of yours? That would be excellent!
July 25, 2010 at 2:47 pm
The Chair is Odin’s Throne from the upcoming Thor movie. The interrupting idiot i think was a gag. Notice James talks about fans and treating them right them shoves a fan away.. it was a gag.
I think James should have taken a paper or something while sitting on the throne to make it look like giant toilet and he is using it..
July 25, 2010 at 2:50 pm
What the fuck was that?! That’s a real loyal fan and you just push him and yell at him?!?!?! Fucking bullshit! That’s horse shit!!! what the hell is wrong?!?!! I hope I never meet you. Because obviously you don’t care about the fans. First you hang up on a fan and then you push him, HE CAN FUCKING SUE YOU FOR ASSAULT! F.U.
July 25, 2010 at 2:55 pm
This is just con. Thought you’d yell Khaaaaan for sure.
July 25, 2010 at 2:56 pm
lol funny cameo by Pat the NES Punk at the end.
Those updates from Comic-Con are fun to watch. Well done.
July 25, 2010 at 2:57 pm
Some aren’t very perceptive Mike.
July 25, 2010 at 3:02 pm
This is Con…. Kan…. KHHAAAAAANNN!!!
July 25, 2010 at 3:12 pm
*facepalm* @ IDaCashman
Dude The fan at the end was Pat the Nes punk from the http://thepunkeffect.com/ check him out .
Not the sharpest knife in the drawer are you .
July 25, 2010 at 3:23 pm
Awesome, sounds like my dream shopping center. Seems like Godzilla is going metro sexual with his new, pink look. I wonder if they sell any Playboys there….
July 25, 2010 at 3:24 pm
*facepalm* @ myself for *facepalm* @ IDaCashman who was obviously just kidding xD
July 25, 2010 at 3:47 pm
DAYUUUMM!!! Did you see that load of whoop ass James gave to that fan?!! That’s right James, you makes those fans bow down to you with a bloody fist of tyranny. That’s the way!
I would give so much right now to be at SDCC. I envy you James.
You’re right James, I would probably be out of money if you left me in thst memorabilia shop for a few minutes.
July 25, 2010 at 4:02 pm
I wish I could go to ComiCon one day.. I live too damn far away >_<
July 25, 2010 at 4:10 pm
I agree with the ComiCon/MovieCon thing. Comics have enough following (including web comics, sunday funnies and movies based on comics) to really stay huge and active, whereas the other stuff would also have enough for its own con. It would be less of a crowd and a mess, too.
Also, lol @ the end. It’s funny because I was imagining what I’d do if I saw Mr Rolfe talking on the mic. I’d probably stand by patiently and wait for them to cut before accosting him. I’ll have to remember to bring an old NES game for him to sign if I ever make it to a con.
July 25, 2010 at 4:46 pm
dude i cant belevie how many ppl didnt get the interupting fan joke whats the chance for soemone to interupt him right when he talks about ppl coming up to him and how come they didnt do it in any other videos
James is making observations some of us locals who have been going for years, decades actually, have been saying a long time now.
We do need our “Comic” con back. And I think there are ways they can accomplish that and not hurt all the multimedia things that have grown over the years.
Lots of big issues for planning to expand the convention center. If they can make enough room, they can seperate things up more.
I do get annoyed at a lot of the things in the dealers room just not belonging there at all. If people want to buy Hot Topic clothes, go to the mall! LOL
July 25, 2010 at 4:53 pm
July 25, 2010 at 5:09 pm
@ People who actually think James shoved a fan away:
Lol are you people stupid!
July 25, 2010 at 5:28 pm
You finished with the word Shit is that what you were doing on the Golden Throne?
Just kidding. Nice setup but the person you pushed overacted it. Maybe if you were the Incredible Hulk and pushed him that flying fall would have made more sense.
In a way I can agree with you on having a Film Con seperate from Comic Con. But at least most of the movies there had comics and most of the actors and guests had comicbook movies.
How would you set up a Movie Con anyway? Without the comic aspect you lose about half of the merchandise and you’d end up with almost the same show anyway wouldn’t you?
July 25, 2010 at 6:07 pm
Does James know There is a new GODZILLA movie in Produktion ? !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
July 25, 2010 at 6:27 pm
Funny at the end with the guy butting into james! rofl
July 25, 2010 at 6:46 pm
was that Pat the NES punk that you shoved and you know their is a movie based around comic con called comic book the movie
July 25, 2010 at 7:18 pm
It would have been extremely ironic if some of the AVGN stuff that got put on ebay a while back somehow showed up at those stores as some extremely rare merchandise and James found it/talked about it. Alas, maybe next year!
July 25, 2010 at 8:03 pm
July 25, 2010 at 9:21 pm
Sorry for the delay, but here goes!
WOW! Odin’s throne looks great! I can’t wait for Thor next year. It’ll be as great fun as the two Iron Man movies.
Oh yeah, I forgot that was Pat the NES Punk. Don’t know if he’s still making funny reviews on his YouTube channel, but I must check.
Just got back from seeing Inception. You guys should not miss it!!!
July 25, 2010 at 10:28 pm
You are like the king of all nerds at this place. Nice bit at the end btw. haha!
I still say movies are your forte, can’t wait for more geekyness on those…
Make a spin-off series! Angry Motion Picture Nerd!
All the crappiest movies ever.
July 25, 2010 at 11:18 pm
James your gonna love this. Here in Santa Cruz, CA (actually neighboring Capitola, CA), is a very popular sushi restaurant called….wait for it….
The Pink Godzilla!!!!
July 26, 2010 at 12:20 am
Did the people from the “Celebrate The Web” event at Comic Con invite you to their panel event?
July 26, 2010 at 12:23 am
“It’s a pink godzilla?!” Godzilla action figures have always been super awesome!!
July 26, 2010 at 1:20 am

July 26, 2010 at 2:03 am
James you could jgo by the name Angry nerd. Thats it. we love you game reviews but you have other intrest and frankly I love watching you film stuff in addition to avgn. But I would hate to see an end to acgn.
I agree about the comic con needing to be split. Its just too much going on all at once. Like you I like reading comics and Manga, but I don’t collect them.
July 26, 2010 at 4:09 am
Went to the Penn & Teller panel also! It was great, and the bee story was hilarious.
As far as the name “Comic-Con”, I don’t really have that much of a problem with it, but if they did change it, it it should be something that reflected popular arts and not just “movies”. Movies//TV/games/toys/Sci-Fi/etc, and I guess that would include comics as well.
July 26, 2010 at 6:13 am
Awesome!, cant wait for next part. James, you are the man!
July 26, 2010 at 8:34 am
Hey James, they released the design of the second attempt at a Godzilla remake.
This time they did a better job, he actually looks like him and he has Atomic Breath.
http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=68255 I hope links are allowed.
July 26, 2010 at 8:49 am
It’s hard to believe that some people can be this stupid.
Anyhow, I would love the chance to go to this event. I’d be broke in about an hour but it would be awesome none the less. You are a really lucky man, James.
July 26, 2010 at 9:45 am
Yeah!!! Pat the NES Punk!!!! Awesome!!!!
July 26, 2010 at 5:45 pm
hay James did you see the stabbing there at comic con. Apparently some crazed fan got in a argument with this other dude and just stabbed the dude in the eye with a pen. wtf
July 26, 2010 at 6:55 pm
You didn’t get the Godzilla 2012 t-shirt? Shame on you
July 26, 2010 at 10:46 pm
you really love your fans! ahahaha
July 26, 2010 at 11:03 pm
I love that old comics are in hot commodity, but I would just assume buy a reprinted omnibus. I think comics are legitimate literature and that issues should be reprinted within a reasonable time line.
I have one of those diecast back to the future dolreans
July 26, 2010 at 11:34 pm
big fan here, just registered keep up the good work!(rob 64)
you mentioned atari games for 8 dollars is outrageous and i agree
but for me games are WAY more expensive,
I live in brazil, i saw a pack with 6 games for 300 reais the currency reais/dollars is 2/1. that means that every atari game(2600) in here is 25 dollars and THAT is BULLSHIT
(nintendo wii games, for instance are 125 dollars in here, the new ones)
enjoy your movies very much hugs, brazilian john
July 26, 2010 at 11:48 pm
So true! So true! I was there Saturday….
James, What do you think of AMC’s The Walking Dead?
July 27, 2010 at 5:33 am
It would be awesome if you would spot Ryan and Lar from LeastICouldDo.com or LFGComic.com.
July 27, 2010 at 7:40 am
lol, cant believe u really push ur fans away
July 27, 2010 at 12:41 pm
James is not picking on anybody, whats up with you?
Great video though
July 27, 2010 at 1:10 pm
The guy James pushed is another cool reviewer of classic NES games called Pat the NES Punk.
I am pretty sure that was intentional. ; – )
July 27, 2010 at 1:25 pm
Pat was really cool. He helped me shoot some of the footage, like when I’m going around the dealer room. There’s two more Comic Con videos from Spike coming (Day 3). Not sure why they’re taking a little longer than the others, but they should be up sometime soon.
July 27, 2010 at 2:40 pm
James, I would like to apologize. I was being a bitch. I was being very stupid, assuming a lot of things and not paying attention to your video. I was very awful and used slanderous remarks. I really would like to apologize, I was extremely stupid. I’m not asking for forgiveness, I’d just like to say I’m sorry for assuming and further cursing. It was idiotic of me.
July 27, 2010 at 3:00 pm
@James i think The Expendables is the only rated R action movie coming out this year! lol keep up the great work
July 27, 2010 at 4:01 pm
Look at that hick in the background with the “Sarah Palin: Rogue Warrior” and “President Evil” posters.
July 27, 2010 at 5:13 pm
someone actually thought James pushing the other guy was real? Really? wow.
although, one nerd did stab another in Hall H. THAT I find to be funny.
July 27, 2010 at 7:17 pm
I can’t believe you humiliated me like that!
July 27, 2010 at 7:49 pm
You know you could put the movie posters on your ceiling……….
July 27, 2010 at 7:59 pm
Pink Godzilla FTW!!
July 27, 2010 at 10:03 pm
That was great. Man people fell for the push! I just finished watching M by Fritz Lang. Incredible movie. I recommend going to a public library, free movies, books, and WhatNot.
July 28, 2010 at 2:35 pm
Whoaaa!! Animation cells! I always wondered what happens to those stuff after the cartoon is done. I want them! 🙂
August 21, 2010 at 12:24 am
