I saved over 60 ticket stubs from concerts and shows I’ve been to. Check them out. They’re all great memories that maybe some of you remember as well.
April 8, 2010 at 2:46 am
Damn, it’s kinda a bummer that were no soundgarden tickets in there or stone temple pilots.
April 8, 2010 at 7:24 pm
Dude… Right on I was at the Tool show in Camden… I was out in the rain the whole time, but it was awesome. Very cool collection James.
April 8, 2010 at 7:36 pm
The only the I regret about that show was wearing my Boston Celtics jacket and having people all night calling my Larry Bird….
April 9, 2010 at 1:57 am
Hahaha, the one random hip hop show.
Hells yeah, the AVGN’s a metalhead!! \m/
April 9, 2010 at 5:02 pm
April 9, 2010 at 5:05 pm
rob zombies are the best! totally agree.
April 11, 2010 at 2:44 am
You went to a Pearl Jam concert?! You son of a bitch…
I’ve only been to two concerts: ZZ Top and They Might Be Giants. I’ve also been to a Jeff Dunham show. Guitar Guy kicked ASS!!!
April 11, 2010 at 6:04 am
i had no idea how equal James’ music taste is to mine :O and WOOT System of a Down live is good? people i know doesnt reccomend it cus their unique music fails live… what that means. but still after James saying its good, im going
April 11, 2010 at 10:59 am
I saw the Journey/Cheap Trick/Heart tour in Chicago. I thought Heart blew the other two groups away.
April 12, 2010 at 4:14 pm
Now that you’ve done concert tickets, you should do movie tickets. That would be really interesting.
April 14, 2010 at 5:59 pm
Hey James, do you like german band Helloween?
April 14, 2010 at 6:16 pm
Interesting you should mention Sabbra Caddabra. I saw those guys at the Wagon Wheel in Quakertown. I thought those guya where the real sabbath the way everything looks from a glance. There is a band called ReBourne which is an Ozzy Tribute and the singer actually becomes Ozzy. It was real hard to tell the difference after a few Lagers!
April 15, 2010 at 1:15 am
I save my ticket stubs too but I don’t have as many as you do. We share the same taste in music. I been to a few Ozzfests and I’ve seen Slipknot and System who are amazing. The fact that you like to memorialize or document events I think parallels with your love for capturing film. Thanks for posting.
April 25, 2010 at 10:28 am
Saw SOAD here in Copenhagen like.. 4 or 5 years ago and they were fucking brilliant!
Anyways, if you ever get the chance to see a Megadeth gig, see it.. They are fucking awesome! I’ve seen them 4 times and they are coming to Copenhagen again this summer playing at CopenHell, which is gonna be awesome!
So yeah, just a recommendation ^^
And a very nice video James ^^
April 26, 2010 at 1:06 am
I think only one of those tours that I saw was the Ozzy/Rob Zombie 2008 one. I missed out on the Heaven & Hell/Judas Priest tours because the tickets are pricey, most of the shows I goto are ~$20.
April 26, 2010 at 8:19 pm
Hah, What CAN you say about Tool? Well, they’re my favorite. You’ve seen quite a few good bands. Also, I am pretty sure that System of a down is getting back together really soon to write a new album, so you will be able to see them again.
The only concert I’ve ever seen was an Incubus concert around 6 months ago. I paid around $200 for a really close seat, but now I’m quite sure that I have some hearing damage in my right ear as one of their key sound systems was directly adjacent to where I was sitting.
Twilight amber ego. We were amused by this.
April 27, 2010 at 6:32 pm
Hi James. I am following you since like 2 years for your NES reviews. I have a complete NTSC collection But now I just saw this video and a can see we share another passion, going at rock concerts. I’m also keeping all my tickets. Here is a list of the band I have seen in my life:
Black Sabbath with Dio (Heaven and Hell)
Iron Maiden (x5)
Mötley Crüe (x3)
Guns ‘N Roses (x2)
Children of Bodom (x2)
The Joe Perry Project
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Stone Temple Pilots
Sebastian Bach (x2)
Our Lady Peace
And I also have my tickets for upcoming show of: Scorpions with Dokken and Cinderella, Iron Maiden with Dream Teather, RUSH, Santana, U2, Megadeth, Slayer
Metal up your ass !
April 30, 2010 at 12:56 am
It is nice to see that you have very similar taste in music aswell
May 5, 2010 at 8:19 pm
that’s awesome, I didn’t realize how many shows in philly you’d seen
May 8, 2010 at 10:07 pm
Wow James, we’ve seen a LOT of the same bands. I was looking at the dates on those stubs and we saw so many of the same tours. I saw the Metallica tour with Days of the New and Jerry Cantrell. I saw the Merry Mayhem tour with Ozzy and Rob Zombie. I saw AC/DC in 2000, Tool in 2001, and the Metallica tour with Linkin Park and others. I have an album full of ticket stubs about as big as that one so I really enjoyed this video. Nice job!
May 11, 2010 at 11:09 pm
metallica sanitarium was my first concert. a guy died there that day .i did get one of lars ulrichs drumsticks and a set of ringing ears
May 12, 2010 at 7:28 pm
I’m surprised at just how interesting this is. really enjoyed it
May 25, 2010 at 8:15 am
You should see Suicide Silence in concert. Theyre fucking epic!
May 26, 2010 at 8:53 am
I’m shocked. No Mötley Crüe ? =O Their music is kickass !
June 2, 2010 at 7:56 pm
That’s awesome. I’m a little deeper into metal, I guess (atm mostly Black Metal, especially the Scandinavian underground like Tsjuder or Horna. If anyone is interested, look on Youtube, I recommend it if you like Metal. Even if you don’t like it, I think it’s pretty interesting), but you too have a very good taste of music
June 3, 2010 at 2:42 pm
gotta say… i’m not into the same music lol. i like post-hardcore but mainly alternative rock. i’m sure it was cool seeing r.zombie and metallica live and all that but i wouldn’t front $50 to see them
June 4, 2010 at 4:07 pm
Wow, I’ve only been to a few concerts, but they were all badass. I saw Tool, Foo Fighters, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Meat Puppets, and Muse.
If you haven’t heard Meat Puppets yet and you want to hear some off-the-wall badass music, check them out. Their most memorable song is “Lake of Fire” which was performed on NIRVANA Unplugged, sung by Kurt Cobain. A couple of their other songs were played at that show as well.
System of a Down would be so RAD.
June 30, 2010 at 2:56 pm
Hey, I was at both those Priest shows at PNC! And both were pretty awesome. And that Ozzfest ’05, you must have been at the first day that sold out. I went to the second day and Ozzy was “sick” so Maiden played three more songs. Kind of a bummer, but Sabbath plays the same set every year, so I guess we didn’t miss much.
July 12, 2010 at 2:34 am
I saw Journey with Styx and REO Speedwagon. It was a great concert, but to be honest if they had traded out REO with Cheap Trick, it would have been perfect. I’m impressed at how many times you have seen some of those artists. I saw Weird Al 4 times and I thought that was excessive, but I have nothing on you. I gotta see some more concerts.
July 13, 2010 at 1:47 am
I fucking love Jerry Cantrell! My username was orginated from one of the songs on his first solo album. Didn’t think I’d hear his name. I also love Primus.
July 14, 2010 at 5:57 am
There’s still Serj Tankean makin music from “system of a down” and scars on broadway
July 14, 2010 at 12:50 pm
I’ve seen Dream Theater and Iron Maiden live this weekend. DT are great, but the fact that they were only a first part make me believe that they can be better. Maiden are a show that any metal fan should see. I saw them in Quebec City and because it’s a french-speaking city, Bruce spoke entirely in french between songs, which was awesome for a lot of people!
July 19, 2010 at 9:58 pm
hahaha the only concert ive been to so far was rush, and that was 2 days ago!!! (oh ya, im only 13, so there are probably tonnes more concerts that i will see in the future)
July 23, 2010 at 12:56 pm
This week-end, I’ve seen an other must-see in Quebec City : Rammstein. First time in America since 2001 and when they come back, go see them! I’ve never seen so many fireworks, special effects, or whatever on a scene before! We actually felt the heat of the flames hundreds of feet away from the scene. During the Pussy song, they had a cannon that shot white…stuff on the crowd. Really an awesome show and they had Apocalyptica (their first part) perform 2 songs with them on stage!
They closed the Quebec City Summer Festival that included Dream Theater, Iron Maiden, Santana, Billy Talent, Rush, Black Eyed Peas, Social Distortion Apocalyptica, Rammstein and a lot more. All for 50 bucks! It was a crazy week and I can’t wait to see what they have next year!
August 1, 2010 at 7:56 pm
haha so you like metal/hard rock
August 1, 2010 at 9:17 pm
Ok so for whatever reason I didn’t realize till watching this where you are from. I’ve been to almost all those venues and was actually at a couple of those shows so that’s kinda cool. I’m about to come home on leave we should hang out and see a show haha
August 9, 2010 at 3:19 am
I am amazed you actualy never went to an IRON MAIDEN concert considering you apparently are a Mega Man songs fan. UP THE IRONS.
August 9, 2010 at 3:49 am
I.E. : Only the Good Die Young
August 11, 2010 at 9:57 pm
Rob Zombie – Dragula ( LIVE merry mayhem tour)
August 14, 2010 at 6:17 pm
im going to a ozzy concert sometime this year and to a green day one on august 30th
August 22, 2010 at 4:32 pm
James, cool concerts man! I would definitely recommend going to see the Foo Fighters. They put on one of the best shows ever. And, I know he isn’t hard rock or metal, but Paul McCartney definitely kicks ass….Probably the best show I’ve ever seen in my life.
August 26, 2010 at 6:06 pm
that Metallica/Days of the New/Cantrell show was something like my 3rd concert. and the first i ever tried to bootleg. the recording came out like shit, but at 14 yrs old it still felt worth it.
Think i saw that Korn show too.
and also an old girlfriend dragged me to that Jay-Z 50 Cent thing. not my bag either.
Dio Sabbath rules, Def Leppard rules.
but dude, you need to see Rush!
August 27, 2010 at 2:22 am
I checked Pearl Jam’s website and the night you saw them at the spectrum was the first night.
p.s. I know you’re into Hard Rock and if you ever get the chance, go check out Airbourne live because they are fucking awesome
August 30, 2010 at 7:04 pm
I have just heard Ozzy Osbourne here in Denmark. It was too awesome
3/2 row in the front xD
September 6, 2010 at 3:39 pm
Holy shit you saw PRIMUS ! ! !…son of a bitch. They dont really tour England any more, we were lucky to get a Fungus and Foes show, bout it
September 7, 2010 at 7:51 pm
Awesome, and damn i really wanna go and live in the states for a few months, just to see concerts and shows. We get a few good shows in Australia every now and then but the only decent rock festival we have is soundwave which has a pretty impressive lineup every year, by Australian standards, This years headliners were Jane’s Addiction, and Faith No More played a full set, wicked. The year before was NIN and Alice In Chains, and next year is Primus, Rob Zombie, Slayer, Queens of the Stone Age and Iron Maiden. Cannot wait!!!
September 10, 2010 at 5:23 pm
I saw the ZZ Top / Ted Nugent show in Cincinnati. Kenny Wayne Shepherd opened for them. I sat in the third row for that show; it was very cool. Also saw AC/DC, but Slash canceled that night.
September 17, 2010 at 9:48 pm
Even though its impossible to see THE DOORS In Concert, Do like there Music and Have you ever heard of them?
October 3, 2010 at 5:18 pm
why did I throw all mine away? feel like such a fool http://www.vizzed.com/vizzedboard/vizzedindex.php?ref=65348
October 4, 2010 at 3:46 am
So far, I’ve only been to a few concerts. The first ever was 4-Him’s last concert before retiring, which I guess was pretty significant. Not a big fan of religious music, but it was pretty good. Also seen a few concerts with a whole slew of unsigned bands from around the area, and those have been pretty good. One of the best I’ve ever seen was also an independent concert with unsigned acts, pretty much all of them from my own town. It was absolutely phenomenal and perhaps the only time I ever felt like I should’ve paid MORE for my ticket. Then I went to In the Field, this concert at a High School football field that had these Christan heavy metal bands, but the main act was Brain “Head” Welch of Korn. It would’ve blown the roof of the place if they’d had one. Also got some autographs from Head and his bandmates. Then a few days later, in a move pretty much the exact opposite of Head, I went to see Journey and Night Ranger. NR performed cover of Damn Yankee’s “Coming of Age”, and overall the show was spectacular, especially Journey who, at the risk of sounding blasphemous, sound better with Arnel Pineda than Steve Perry, in my honest opinion. The last one I went to was this Blues festival in NM, I think the town was Ruridroso or something like that. It was also pretty cool.
October 6, 2010 at 7:00 am
friggin awesome man, my first concert was KISS. Ive also seen, Styx, reo speed wagon, ted nugent, poison, winger, cinderella, faster pussycat, Mudvayne, POD, hoobastank, Linkin Park, Snoop dog, Korn, Avenged sevenfold (been to the WARPED TOUR 2 years) Metallica, Deftones, Limp Bizkit (SUMMER SAN. 2004) Killswitch Engage, Bush, U2, Pappa Roach, HED PE, Sugar Ray (pre-fly, thank god) theres more…but I cant think of them. I just got off a shitty nights work and my brains not working lol. By the way, Metallica and U2 were the best.
October 6, 2010 at 7:03 am
oh, and TOOL…which I only remember because it was the biggest fucking dissapointment of all time…no Sober, no stinkfist, no prison sex….no fucking parabola……fuck…..
October 7, 2010 at 6:47 pm
I watch AVGN like every day….But after watching this I decided to register as a member just to say WHAT A FUCKING AWESOME COLLECTION OF CONCERTS!!!
….so there I said it
October 10, 2010 at 4:21 pm
You like horror and you like heavy metal. Perfect. The one band that combines this the best with their shows is MUSHROOMHEAD. If they come to your area, you have got to see them. The always play smaller venues so you get a chance to get up close. And, most of the time, they stick around for autographs and pictures for free. Really nice guys.
October 12, 2010 at 8:15 pm
Im so jealous, i want to see rob zombie so damn bad
October 12, 2010 at 11:27 pm
awesome stash of concert stubs. i see you been to the electric factory. that place is small but very cool. so i take it you’re on the east cost then.
October 16, 2010 at 3:23 pm
Hey James! I see you like Metal, I”m not much of a metalhead myself but, three bands I reccomend you check out are: Blue Cheer, Melvins and Electric Wizard if you like sludge metal/stoner rock like Black Sabbath.
Also, I wonder if you like classic Goth Rock bands like Bauhaus, Siouxsie and the Banshees, and Sisters of Mercy. I’m under the impresstion you would, given you love classic horror themed things.
October 16, 2010 at 6:41 pm
cool, ive only seen TOOL twice also, first time sucked, was an open festival kind of concert thing, too many drunk frat boys wanting too start fights, second time i saw them was amazing,at SDSU, freaking amazing.
October 18, 2010 at 11:41 pm
I really like how you connect with your fan base, good job. Hope you can get to make a movie soon.
October 19, 2010 at 8:34 pm
Just wanted to comment:
For someone who enjoys monster movies and hard rock I am surprised you never went to see a GWAR concert.
Surely they play in Philly?
GWAR is a fun show to go to, lots of fake blood sprayed though, so be prepared.
October 22, 2010 at 7:50 pm
Are you going to see Rammstein at MSG on December 10th?
November 12, 2010 at 9:24 am
Sound’s real hard all these concert.
But the european style is the harderst.
November 24, 2010 at 3:43 am
Nice collection, man. I would’ve been SUPER pissed not to have seen Iron Maiden at OzzFest ’05.
December 12, 2010 at 8:47 am
I came back from Madison Square Garden to see Rammstein!
I still have my ticket!
December 23, 2010 at 5:31 am
December 23, 2010 at 5:33 am
Also Rammstein guy is so $&#ing lucky. I would have fallen over though if James had been flipping through and revealed a KMFDM or Die Krupps ticket.
December 26, 2010 at 8:34 pm
Hey James, nice concerts. my favorite bands are KISS, Judas Priest, and Metallica. But i never had the pleasure to see metallica live. hopefully some time in the future i will
January 12, 2011 at 8:07 am
Great Collection James! I have seen Sammy Hagar with Van Halen and on his own with his band. My new goal is to see him with Chickenfoot. The one band I would have loved to seen, but was to young at the time, was Queen with Freddy but at last that wont happen. Keep up the good work!
January 12, 2011 at 2:05 pm
fuckin awesome James!! My first show was White Zombie with Prong when I was 14.Back in 94* at the Colorado Springs Auditorium. You made me collect all my stubbs up, new and old and put them into a protected album. one day we shall drink a beer together and shoot the shit. Party on Wayne, party on Garth….. dunno why I had the urge to say that. o_O
January 13, 2011 at 2:55 am
The tommy soundtrack was originally a stage show and written for a story on stage.
I was at 3 of the Ozzfests that you went to but you prolly didnt go to the meadows in CT right?
I also have been to EVERY Project revolution (Linkin Park) show since they started. I love rock-rap since I like the rimes with a rock ballad in the background or a phat beat with some nice rock lyrics to boot.
January 22, 2011 at 1:16 pm
I personally think a better band should of closed the spectrum, don’t get me wrong, pearl jam is a good band. Also the Tower Theatre is awesome! I think everyone should go see the Austraiian Pink Floyd Show a.k.a. aussie floyd, they’re awesome!
February 10, 2011 at 12:46 am
System of a Down kicks fuckin ass!!! I hope they get back together soon they are supposedly doing a huge world tour this year but nothings been mentioned about them getting back together permanetly lets hope so.
February 10, 2011 at 9:30 am
I’ve been to a ton of Pearl Jam shows and the reason they space it out like that is because Pearl Jam is the type of band who’s fans will try to get tickets to all the shows. They did something similar in Mansfield, MA back in 03′ when I went to see them. Unfortunately I didn’t get tickets to the first 2 days, but they saved the best for last and played for over 3 hours on day 3. Having been around and constantly touring, my guess would be that they wanted to do something different rather than playing Jeremy for the 10,000 time. It’s the rarities that the real diehard fans would recognize!
btw, pretty awesome career you carved out for yourself. A lot of respect here. I too am a die hard horror/monster movie fan and film fanatic in general. Love the reviews. Keep up the good work!
February 26, 2011 at 1:08 pm
I’ve GNR Kiss, Twisted Sister, Linkin Park, annd this June, RUSH. Yea I haven’t been to too many concerts, I tried to get Korn but it sold out
March 12, 2011 at 10:38 pm
Why would Penn do that? They have made famous that they don’t protect their tricks because they are atheists who hate the idea of magic. They admit what they do is a trick and show people how they do it. Why would penn tell you not to tell her how they did it? Anyway, nothing but mainstream stuff there. I’ve always liked the smaller shows, they are so much more like parties.
March 22, 2011 at 11:29 pm
Thanks James. You inspired me to make my own album of concert tickets although you’ve been to a ton more than I have
March 31, 2011 at 3:15 pm
It’s sad that you missed the 2006 Ozzfest, it was amazing with Disturbed, System of a Down, Dragon Force, and Black Sabbath. Truly a concert you would have liked to see.
May 9, 2011 at 3:01 pm
You saw Rob zombie so many times… and tallica too, I’m so jealous man! I just saw Sepultura and Muse recently and it was awesome. anyway keep up the good work james, i was introduced to your AVGN vids by a friend of mine but I became a total fan, i love your work from AVGN to the movie reviews to your movies, here in france you sure have 1 fan mr rolfe
May 13, 2011 at 8:37 pm
my dad got a black sabbath pick for them at a concert
May 18, 2011 at 12:58 am
Omg! I am so jealous! I love Metallica, Black Sabbath, and SOAD. I actually got to see SOAD for the first time last Sunday, it was amazing. I still have not see Metallica, since I am from a younger generation and I am dying to see them, Plus for a girl, its not very common to be really into Metallica.
December 31, 2011 at 1:03 am
I only think that’s partly true, I find it’s more seldom you see a girl who likes pre-Black Album Metallica. I often meet girls who like them, but mostly for their ballads, is that good or bad?
May 24, 2011 at 1:33 pm
You know what, I hate you. Why? Well because A) ,”The Sinister Urge” w/ Rob Z’s autograph and B), having seen Rob Zombie live. Jealous, I am.
June 16, 2011 at 1:33 pm
its sad that someone put Disturbed and SOAD in the same sentence with Dragonforce and Black Sabbath, two of these bands arent like the others, two of these bands just dont belong.
December 13, 2011 at 7:26 am
musical taste is subjective quit being a douche
June 30, 2011 at 4:27 pm
I am glad you recorded this on the snare drum of a drum kit…. just makes me happy
July 16, 2011 at 10:49 pm
honestly, what an envey James I would like to be in the OZZ FEST, as I can see we share almost the same music preferences AC DC, BLACK SABBATH, JUDAS PRIEST, OZZY AND METALLICA. I had been only in a KISS CONCERT, RAMMSTEIN AND ACDC!!! And I still have the tickets too.
July 30, 2011 at 4:13 pm
Speaking of The Producers, I had a chance to see the stage version of Young Frankenstein for free, but my phone hung up just before the morning talk radio giving away tickets answered (he picked up a dial tone on air).
Funny that the only concert I’ve ever been to happens to be a major band that you seemed to have missed, The Eagles.
August 8, 2011 at 1:52 am
I was at that AC/DC concert. I’m only 15 and that was my first concert IT WAS FUCKING AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!
November 30, 2011 at 10:53 am
WOW no way you were at that same concert as me, the one at the [email protected]
the one with metallica korn SOAD powerman and kid rock.
good show it was cool it was on the 4th of july. my friends dad worked at the place we got back stage passes. pretty sweet.
thats crazy though that you were there also.
December 22, 2011 at 12:29 pm
Being such a Zombie fan, I’m surprised you didn’t jump at the two Alice Cooper/Rob Zombie shows… I always was more of an Alice fan than Zombie fan but my girlfriend at the time was way into Zombie so we went to the Halloween one with the Murderdolls and boy, what a show… Zombie was on par with Alice show-wise, as blasphemous that is to say
January 6, 2012 at 10:38 pm
Wow, this was made 2 months before Dio died, he even mentioned him. Damn. RIP Dio.
March 1, 2012 at 4:04 pm
If you happen to read this James, to fill up that nifty scrapbook I would definitely reccommend seeing Dir en grey live for the their unique atmosphere. I think in my view they’re starting to wind down, so I would take the next chance to see them if they do another world tour. Judging from those bands you’ve seen, I think you may enjoy DEG’s sound.
Also, their 2011 Wacken performance was terrible in every way and not really representative of their average sound, if you happen to base your opinion on that.
March 8, 2012 at 10:06 pm
The three best shows I ever saw was Iron Maiden, AC/DC and Heaven and Hell with Megadeth opening.
March 19, 2012 at 1:32 am
Wow Kirk Hammet’s guitar pick…
May 22, 2012 at 9:34 pm
I have seen Zombie 4 times. And yes it’s a great show. But show wise..You NEEEEEED to see RAMMSTEIN!
September 11, 2012 at 5:57 am
I’ve wanted to save all my tickets, but one time the guy that checks your ticket was keeping all of them after checking them, so I stopped doing it… Though keep a file on my computer with everything I’ve been to.
December 17, 2013 at 7:04 am
I was at the Metal Masters show, and almost the same rain show-but on a different day, the 11th. My ticket is identical, except mine says sec aaa not aa and row 111 instead of 11. Go figure… Also no mention of testament at metal masters? I missed em myself but i wish i didn’t.
May 13, 2014 at 3:59 pm
Wow! Someone who has seen as many concerts as me! I have very similar tastes in music. Only differences are I’ve seen Alice Cooper, Kiss, Megadeth, Pantera, White Zombie, and many others.
