What the hell is going on here? O ya, it's the year 2010! hahaha. I couldn't have said that better myself and with the Street fighter background... I love how James sticks through these games and die hards them till the end. A talent and skill I have only seen in few people. I could watch him review any game, especially the shitty ones that suck ass.

I had this game growing up and I could never get past the first fourth stage.

Although I was a kid and time limits really freaked me out. (I guess I didnt like the feeling of being rushed) so I didnt give it enough attention. From what I remember, the gameplay was pretty solid, and I would agree that it might be an underrated classic, but its not what we were expecting when we bought it. We wanted a fighting game damn it!

I'm still waiting for Street Fighter: The Good Edition but I doubt they'll ever make it, I think they just want to forget they ever made it much like SF:2010. Still out of all the games you've reviewed SF:2010 is one of the few I would seek out. I feel sorry for anyone who had LJN games which even as a child I sensed they were awful and stayed away from them. :)

There is a way to attack diagonally up. You have to press down and attack, I believe. Its something stupid like that.

this is one of my favorite videos. ive already watched this in its entirety at least 10 times. it takes me back to my childhood when i would spend all that time in the entrance of walmart playing street fighter II.

I was lucky enough t play the original Street Fighter in an actual arcade. It was in a run down nickel arcade in Las Vegas. Wasnt a bad game but it was just as clunky in the controls as "Fighting Street" you couldnt do any of the special moves when you wanted to. I never did a dragon punch in the couple hours I spent playing it but did a few fireballs albeit at random intervals. XD.

You Know What's Bullshit?! AVGN videos not posted on Youtube or Cinemasacre.com! Screwattack is barely tolerable. Gametrailers is virtually unwatchable. Shit is constantly loading on the screen. Everything EXCEPT the video you want to watch. Cheers James and Mike! I've been lurking, and enjoying the content for a long time.

The Nerd has some serious ADD! Then again, who wouldn't after playing all the shit he did when growing up.....

Spoony of The Spoony Experiment did a review of this game some time after the TGWTG Brawl. But, to tell everyone the truth, I like this review a hair better than Spoony's because:
A. This is the first AVGN episode for the 2010 season, and
B. I finally get to know about the original Street Fighter game.

I like the showing of Mike's illistrations during the intro.

2:06- Well, so far, their ARE flying cars and self-lacing shoes. Now if we can only make hoverboards or something that actually hovers by October 2015, it will all be perfect.

I wonder if you gonna review other games for the TurboGrafx 16 and Sega Saturn. Also, I love the way you nerd out. I would do the same thing.

Man, the final level of this game is possibly the most difficult level of any video game.

At last a Street Fighter game review (sort of); I finally understand why no one gives a flying fig for SF 1; "sigh" I played it on my PSP and I thank god for SF II, & I also rented SF 2010 from my local video store as a kid; after playing this my immediate thought was "You got to be kidding me? What a crock of a SF game this is!". In the Nerd's terminology..... "Are they f*cking insane? This is not Street Fighter, this is a god damned piece of (M) Bison shit!".

I just realized the closest thing this game comes to the street fighter franchise is the 2nd stage. After you beat the first stage you go into this strip club and fight the purple ape robot 1 on 1. There are even a bunch of hooded figures in the back watching.

This game cheesed me off as a kid but I always enjoyed the art style. The gameplay and story seemed like it might have drawn inspirado from Strider but lacked refinement and panache. Also, it didn't have the political intrigue that Strider and Bionic Commando had (not that we cared about that sort of thing as kids, but looking back on it now, I wish I'd paid more attention to those details back then).

There might also have been a vague influence of SilverHawks. But then, bionics were all the rage back then. Still are, actually -- especially of the post-humyn and/or trans-humyn variety.

Damn I remember playin that game,it was so fuckin hard! I thought it was awsome at the time too. Long Live The Nerd!

Great review! This is my second watch through of all the vids- they just get better. James, keep up the good work; your videos really take me back to the past. I remember renting this shitty game. I'm pretty sure Street Fighter II had been out in the arcades for a long time, that's the only reason I was interested in trying it out. I gave it up after 5 min. Major disappointment - not a terrible game, but no resemblance to SF series. Thanks for the run down.
