Hellraiser is probably the most sampled of all horror movies in Industrial music, and rightly so, it kicks ass.

Oh how can you not like pinhead! hes my favorite character in movies ever!
too bad hellraiser had little attention compared to jason or freddy, this is better than those two. and i dont agree that nothing makes sense, everything makes sense in this one if you look at it from thier perspective.

P.S. why did you forgot filmography in your new design :S

yeah.. Chatterbox is awesome. I love the 1st movie, but the 2nd is incredible. Sometimes I kinda wish with all the remakes and shit going on with horror movies nowadays, that they’d redo Hellraiser. Even though that would be cool, it’s probably better they just leave it the fuck alone and make something new.

I love Hellraiser. It’s really good for grossing yourself out.

As far as all of the remakes go, I don’t think you could ever come close to how nasty the original makes you feel. The special effects just aren’t used in that foamy, drippy, juice-way anymore. A redo would likely disappoint most viewers. Long live the original :)

“There is no good, there is no evil. There is only flesh.” – Pinhead, Hellraiser 3: Hell on earth.

The best Pinhead quote of all time.

The soundtrack in this (and the second, which for my money, is better) is absoultely hypnotizing. Beautiful, yet disgusting movie. And Clive Barker…one of, if not THE best horror author ever. (Kind of a toss up between he and Franz Kafka.)

This movie has always disturbed the hell out of me. Apparently ‘Martyrs’ director Pascal Laugier has been tapped for the next Hellraiser movie, which isn’t exactly a remake but more of a re-telling.

One of the top 5 horror films in history!

I can’t say enough good things about this shit. but, out of all of the horror franchised villians, I.E, Michael Myers, Freddy, Jason, Leatherface, Pinhead is, by far and away, my favorite.

He is the coolest looking demon EVER. The Cenobites are AWESOME!!!

Why not go to a blood bank and get filled up with the right blood type instead of killing all randoms and get different blood types in your system.

Well nothing makes sense, but why should it ? :D

Hellraiser is by far my favourite 80s horror movie. I liked that Clive Barker (who also directed the film as well as write the book), actually tried to make Pinhead different to the typical slasher villains. Like Pinhead never cracked jokes like Freddy or Chucky and he also was never mute like Michael Myers or Jason.

Apprarantly Hellraiser is having a ninth sequel “Hellraiser: Revelations”, which I think is direct to DVD. Or it’s having a remake being made…IN PG-13!!!!!!!!!
DAMN YOU HOLLYWOOD!!! If this happens, Pinhead’s gonna go to those shitty film makers and “tear their souls apart”

This is the movie that brought me into the horror genre. I was born in the 80s, but i didnt see it until i was a teenager halfway in the 90s. After i saw it for the first time, i couldnt stop watching it, and i practically memorized every major scene word by word.

Its not a movie that relies on a scare factor, but on its horrific imagery and suspense. To me it also brought philosophical questions to mind, about life, death, pleasure and pain. This movie was such an inspiration to me, and i imagine to many many others.

If you love Hellraiser, you also should watch Hellbound (Hellraiser II). Its sequel is not as great as the original, but it features the best cenobite ever created, yes even “the Engineer” a.k.a. Pinhead cant measure up to the malign Dr. Channard.

The rest of the series, well fuck em… thats only for those who get a hard on for Cenobites, cause cinematically and storywise its way below the first two movies.

The book known as “The Hellbound Heart” is a short book, and i recommend everyone to pick up a copy. The movie deviates from the book in several ways, but they are both great and unique in their own way.

And yes, the character now known as Pinhead, is actually female, and is not the Engineer as portraited in the movies. ;)

Clive Barkers’ book, “Damnation Game” would make a great movie. I can’t believe nobody has done that yet.

Sort of short, I admit that the first movie was a rather light in terms of plot but why so short dude. That and the hellreiser series spawned many cult crap sequels that deserve a mention. Only rivaled by the Puppet master series in crap cult hits.

Having Lemmy playin’ poker with Pinhead. Isn’t that being the total Badass of History or what??
I would totally buy a Motörhead horror film. Yeah. THAT would be the shit!!

It would have been funny to see the clusterfuck of sequels in the sequel-a-thon, even though I can see why they didn’t make it. There’s 3 million of them and most of them are truly god-awful, but still I wished it had been. Glutton for punishment, I guess.

wish the review was longer and went into more detail, this is one of my favorite horror flicks

I really liked the first two Hellraiser movies a lot. Three wasn’t bad either, but it was definitely a huge step down in quality. Some of the later sequels had some interesting ideas, but for the most part the series fizzled out. A remake would probably be the best option for the property at this point.
