I received this game as a birthday present from some relative when I was ten or eleven. I was never able to summon the patience to put this damn game together.
Is it just me, or has everyone had a friend like Mother fucker Mike? I swear some of my buddies used to pull this same kind of stuff on me all the time!
Love this video man. Been searching for Weapons and Warriors ever since I first seen this. Which was when you released it and I still can’t find anything, but hey that’s New Zealand for you. Found it on ebay, but the bloody shipping is like $84 USD even though that’s for 4 sets of it.
Anyways again awesome video and same with hero quest.
Heh…very funny. Great video.
This reminds me of my cat. When I was on the computer she would climb up on top of my head and just sit there. She was a small cat. Thanks for the reminder of her.
R.I.P. my little kitty.
This is by far my favorite Board James episode. You know.. watching this video reminded me of a game that I had. It’s the same game name, but not castles and catapults. The version I have is “Weapons and Warriors: Pirate Battle Game.” It’s really cool cause you have two Pirate Battle ships and islands instead of the castles and outposts, and you shoot cannons and mortars at the masts and sails and stuff. Perhaps you could do a side episode of that version of Weapons and Warriors? I know how busy you are though so.. Anyway, keep up the excellent work on your videos and I look forward to more Board James episodes.
I feel like a loser for noticing this, but at 5:10, James pulls back the catapult with his thumb, and when it edits to show his face, he’s pulling it pack with his index finger. Anyway, good video.
I had this game. Seeing this video made me remember how much I loved the way the top of the inner tower exploded. I hardly ever actually played in the way it was intended, though; I just let my imagination run amok… like having Transformers attack the castle.
I bought the game it took me over an hour to set it up and my little brother wanted to be the castle , so I had to be the army , and I won . Well its because he has no aim .
This game was so awesome. Back in 2nd grade when there wasn’t much to do during the summers we played this constantly. We always threw blankets or towels in front of the couch or whatever so we wouldn’t have to search for the balls constantly. It was my buddies game and I always got screwed with the raiders and always had stretched out rubber bands. If you broke the rubber bands and tied them back together you could get the tension back in them which made me feel smart at 8 years old. Great review.
I wish I had this game so I could shoot people with the shots from the crossbows and cannons. Motherfucker Mike is lazy! I would of said, “HELP ME SET THIS SHIT UP FUCKER!”
The best vid that your cat has been in was the Jaguar pt. 2 (chasing the Jag cube around, CLASSIC!)
hey, i got a game not quite similar but as (if not more) epic as this game; Hasbro’s Heroscape. this game takes hours to set up and about as long to play, quite the entertainment actualy but the problem is: how do you store it back? i had to use a few boxes to store the game. this game offers so much extension to the game, it’s mind boggling. theres a orc extension, monks, cyborgs, beasts, dragons, WotC’s own D&D is even in there and freaking MARVEL (oh wait, its Disney’s Marvel, sry). so if you ever wanted to see spiderman or captain america defeat a troll, a dragon of even yeti, this is the closest thing you’ll EVER get.
Great vid. I gotta get this game. I think I saw it when I was 4 and wanted it because of the pieces. That’s how you know the game is awesome, by how many pieces it has and how elaborate they are.
i played with lego too and i invented my own tactical combat games and rpgs with lego pieces when i was forbidden to play on my computer!
also i used to draw maps for my own rpgs when i couldnt play them on computer
You’d think this would be another game that was good to play with siblings you didn’t like (like Crossfire), but I hated trying to play this game with the my brother. He cheated way worse than Mike. Once he started losing, he would do his best to hit me or shoot the balls into hard to reach places.
Red ball retrieval was the worst part about the game.
And playing it on the floor with my own black kitty was impossible. Playing on the table just makes the balls go even farther.
The solution of putting the cat outside the room is fine if you don’t mind hearing “THUMP THUMP THUMP THUMP” of the cat trying to break down the door all game long. (I love you kitty, but WTH?)
Like DragonStrike, I have no idea what happened to my copy of this game. :/
OMG. Me and a friend used to play this game all the time. We played it for hours and almost all through the night. We switched sides every game just to be fair. The game was so much fun.
I’m a huge fan of this Board James series. It has inspired me to do a video on the 1995 OverPower card game with Marvel, DC and Image super heroes. If anyone is craving more retro gaming you should check it out. Thanks! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SNZHX1Ua3ZY

April 9, 2010 at 10:35 pm
This episode tops your previous one in terms of pure epicness! There’s nothing like an epic confrontation between two grown men playing a board game!
Also, the wilhelm scream makes it even better! I say the more wilhelm screams, the better!
April 10, 2010 at 12:58 pm

Legos were my best friend.

I had a version of this that replaced the Army with a Pirate Ship. Pretty sure the castle was exactly the same, though.
July 25, 2010 at 6:33 pm
I love your cat;
the best video of him is when James put him in the Roll & Rocker (NES Accesories) XD
July 29, 2010 at 10:56 am
TheGalaxyMaster says:
“There’s a similar game like this called, um… I don’t remember. It’s much more fair than this game.”
Crossbows and catapults.
Used to have it myself.
It was much better and you could buy new expansion sets and add to the battle.

Great video, and what a great looking game
May 24, 2011 at 4:56 pm
After Watching this i’ve been and got a used copy off amazon, It is a great game. Thought I’d mention that you’ve set the weapons up wrong, the attacking army gets the cannon and the defenders get the crossbow. Worst part is trying to take out the general in the far tower it’s near impossible and highly frustrating.
June 15, 2011 at 1:51 am
These are much better now that Mike just acts like himself instead of playing a character.
June 20, 2011 at 10:58 pm

I have this game, well a different version of it with a small base with three slots and a larger wooden base with 6 slots. I don’t think I actually ever played it. I would always just set up the figurines and blast them with the catapults.

Nerd went H.A.M
January 10, 2012 at 6:44 am
“Roll the dice”!! Fantastic mike
January 29, 2012 at 4:56 pm
Those little balls were so easy to loose. Hence why it was a good idea to shut the doors, and block off anything they can roll under while playing it.
I still got one of the catapults, the cannon, and the crossbow. As for the rest of it, it’s in the garage… somewhere.
February 6, 2012 at 10:34 pm
my brother had the pirate version, such a fun game!
February 10, 2012 at 3:37 pm
Cleanest Wilhelm scream I ever hear.
July 3, 2012 at 1:02 pm
i used to have this game until my father became a casualty of war.
September 8, 2012 at 10:40 pm
Man, the end was the best part. Mike’s expression was priceless when James was about to knock down his general. One of my favorite Board James videos.
November 16, 2012 at 2:23 pm
They should make a World War II Version . At least it would be cool.
November 18, 2012 at 3:12 pm
So many balls.
January 18, 2013 at 8:10 pm
That was awesome!!!! Looks like a blast, great video!
March 8, 2013 at 10:47 pm
