Just review the real Pitfall 2. Not that it’s a bad game. I just remember playing super pitfall thinking it was the sequel and then years later finding Pitfall 2.
I know why you have to collect all those “magical” items! The “princess” (or whatever it is) has transformed into an ugly “princess” (or whatever it is). If you look at the “princess” (or whatever it is) slightly before you “collect her” she transmforms into a lesser ugly “princess” (or whatever it is).
This game is another case of a bad nintendo port (like Winter Games). The Atari 2600 (or was it 5200) versions weren’t too bad, and neither was the commodore 64 version. What was it with Nintendo and bad ports?
Actually the gold, frogs, and spiders are directly from the original pitfall series on atari (pitfall II heavily implicated here). Without looking into the nes port I would say the caged animal he speaks of is harry’s lost dog, which in the atari version I originally mistook for some strange enemy because it was standing on two shaky legs. I think the whole plot of the original was about getting the treasure and your dog and all and getting out, so they are being pretty faithful in that. The music is also based on the atari pitfall. wtf pitfall harry is doing with a gun is almost as big a question as why someone would make a game where batman uses guns to kill people and michael and jason from the slasher movies hurt children (if you don’t know batman has been anti-gun from the getgo, preferring to subdue enemies with the least possible force, pitfall harry had no gun, and michael and jason killed adults who failed to protect kids, not the other way round.) so the gun is a clear mismatch, teh random invisible items is ridiculous, but frogs, spiders, falling forever and taking forever to get back, cheap death, that all was part of the original pitfall package.
Hey james just realized haveing played nes and super pitfall if you shoot really fast and pause the gun is faced the wrong way aiming at pitfalls larry or harrys face lol yet goes the opposite direction
About those frogs. There actually is frogs that have killed even people. Poison dart frogs have poison on their skin and with it the kill birds, monkeys and as i mentioned people. So actually those frogs are probably the most realistic enemies in this game.
I guess this is some kind of patience test. That, or maybe an uncomplete game. It’s like some kind of alpha stage release. It’s like… you rescue the princess, so a normal person would turn off the console claiming he completed the game, but also added some kind of secret ending to tell the people that persist trying to find an end that the game has already ended… But you must be persistent to discover that the end of the game is in that exact random spot… I don’t know what were they up to when they did that. It has no sense, unless you have a manual that explains what happens or what are you doing. And the flickering is because there are too many sprites in the screen and the NES can’t handle them. As I said, looks more like an alpha release, like that cheetah man game you reviewed.
I figured out what that animal in the cage is. It is his sidekick (and if I am correct, his bird as well) quickclaw. You find him in a cage and must free him with a key. I don’t beleive he does anything. Also the girl is his neice Rhonda who has been turned into stone.
@Staarscommando No…Because of the colours and the cap. And those jokes about french people and wars are starting to get boring. That’s so cliché, please find something else.

“Super” Pitfall. The only thing I find SUPER about it is its stupidity and difficulty.
2:01- I always laugh for this part.
This game is like something Activision put together from a garbage can full of things not used in their other games.
I love the refference of your Crazy Castle episode.

When Harry ducks down, it looks like he’s taking a shit!!!!!!

I saw this comment on youtube:
I read about Super Pitfall on Wikipedia.
That animal in the cage is an owl. Harry needs to rescue the owl before you can complete the game.
That girl you rescue is Harry’s niece. She has been turned into stone, so you need to collect the hidden objects to break the spell on her.
Good Job making Harry hump his own niece
