Personally I loved the SNES as a kid and Fun With Numbers. But the only reason I think I loved the SNES was because of the sound track. The game was boring as all hell but that music gets in your head and you can’t stop playing. I also agree that Luigi gets shafted way to much, at least Luigi Manson was a cool game expect that made him a wimp again.
First of all, I want to say thank you for making these videos and providing us all with some great entertainment! You guys all work great together, and are great at what you do.
I’m 25, so I can relate to these games you review.
So with that said, I want to add, that “Mario is Missing” was so much bull! I remember renting the game from the video store and thinking, “Wow, a game starring Luigi! How could they fuck this up?” Boy was I pissed off when I played it, and the part that pissed me off the most was when you fight Bowser! He can’t even hurt you! What’s the point in even having to fight him! Especially after seeing how hardcore he was in Mario 3!
i love this site, coz here i can swear and not any fucker will ban me for that shit.
this “barely a game”, “barely educational”, barely fucking axeptional for my brains. i just can’t believe it – how human can create such a great epic names, like “metal gear”, “mario” and then just screw this all up, just like some great leading engineering scientist would turn himself into an heroine addict for 5 days?
this is so sad.. all we’ve left are memories about great games and feeling that days of great games will never coming back.
Mario teaches typing is funny as fuck! Mario is just a head, and he makes so scared you pee your pants, and yet hes so fucking funny you pee your pants! Fuck I shouldn’t have watched a video of it, now I need new pants… :3
ugh another fuckin censorship asshole. gather up everyone who thinks like you. have a huge party at your house. chain all the doors shut and set the place on fire
Last year, I had to write an essay about an educational video game during a game design lecture, basically the lecture was about how early educational games were bullshit. I chose Mario’s Time Machine (NES) for my topic. It inspired me to make a sarcastic childrens’ show parody on YouTube about it, that’s how much ass that sucked.
Mario is Missing?? WTF! Poor Luigi,at least he got his own game but they made him out out be a pussy! You would think that they would both be brave considering they have been through alot of the same shit together! I think they are both awesome though, great review Nerd!
AVGN, I actually LIKE the NES versions of both of those games. By the way, do you do ever think of doing reviews for romhacks? If so, then I recommend doing a video of Kaizo Mario.
When I was 7 I never realized that Mario is Missing(SNES version) was a educational game and I played all the way through to the end. Man I was stupid as a kid.

It’s a shame you didn’t talk about the PC-Version (Jep, there actually was one), because it spawned the entity known as Weegee.
July 7, 2010 at 1:19 am
im glad i never played thses games
July 12, 2010 at 12:54 pm
These videos are educational.
Would be even better if AVGN didn’t take everything in the games dead serious and swear at everything.

If, I wanna play an educational game, I’d pop in one of the Carmen Sandiego computer games, and I haven’t played those for almost a decade.

December 13, 2011 at 6:36 pm
Good thing is that a new game starring Luigi is coming for the 3DS; Luigi’s Mansion 2!
January 20, 2012 at 5:10 am
@VideoGameNerd2055 Wait its going to be on the 3DS anything good going to the Wii U
December 21, 2011 at 3:54 pm
Luigi’s first time to shine in his own game and he gets screwed over by having an educational game
January 25, 2012 at 1:36 pm
Since they gave him a educational game, Luigi is like the smart unpopular one. Mario is the cool popular kid.
