i think you should do a top 10 good video games from Ljn, Nes and Snes. Carnage (snes) was one of the games a had alot of fun and is a good game, so I imagine they have a couple good or not that bad games.
As I remember my chilhood, the time when i was playing terminator games...It's a bad memories :( Seriously, thats sucks, especialy sega version of T2.Dam ,it could be a great game, if it would't be that game.
is "Hasta la vista baby" , or maby the original line that said john conor as a kid when he trow away the chip, he said " Adios", NOT GOODBYE BABY, that is just wrong
Don't blame LJN for making the T-800 a pussy, blame James Cameron for what he did to the character in T2.
With lines like "Chill out dickwad" and the fact this TERMINATOR is not allowed to TERMINATE after it "swore" not to. Or even that this unstopbable killing machine is reduced to being a 10 year old's plaything that "understands" why people cry.
LJN just worked with the character Cameron ruined.
JackredluM, I am very agree with you. Judging something only because someone else say it's good or bad it's very bad idea and lack of personal opinion. Please don't get me wrong. I am fan of the NERD, but sometime he speak for games that are not bad at all.
First example is side scroller T2 game for Sega/SNES. I personally don't like SNES version because control of the driving stages is different from Sega versions, also the blue sky in first level at the background makes no sense , the events in the first level take time at late evening or night in the movie.
Anyway , the Sega Genesis version is very good in my opinion, is hard game, but when you used to driving stages, the game is actually very good and follow the events in the movie very correctly. I like NES version too. Its' not bat game. Is actually very playable game and have a smooth control . The music is also dark and very creepy and fit perfectly for the atmosphere.
T2 Arcade Game is good one too. both sega/SNES versions. The only level that I hate (maybe the most hated level for any games ever for me) is the level that you must keep john connor alive on the truck. This level is from hell and I beat it only once or two on emulator only , with tones of reloaded save states.
My point is that T2 games are not bad at all. not like the NERD said. In any other way the review is fun, professional and very interesting and informative to watch. Kudos .
maybe for you not, but for the nerd they are bad games and i think opinion from other people does matter, more when the tastes of that certain person is very similar to yours, it's not lack of personal opinion, is taking in consideretaion the opinion of others, many people trust in reviews to decided wether or not they are gonna buy a certain game, or watch a certain movie or book and so on
i like LJN. It's lie the howling 4- no one can see past the flaws to enjoy it.
Question:Is LJN now part of THQ or Acciam?
Antone else find it funny that someone actually called themself LJNGameDesigner?
Lethargic Jizz Nuts!
How in the holy mother of fuck did you beat T2 on the NES? As a kid I could at least get to the end bosses in Ninja Gaiden 1-2, beat SMB3 and beat Castlevania 3, but never once did I make it past that motorcycle stage.
Respect.
Anyone else notice that at 8:18 in the said it says "insuring" instead of "ensuring". Kinda weird do they have insurance on making sure you don't beat that part 0.o
@nomad175
It reminded me of Hank Hill.
In fact, the entire Super Nintendo version looks much more like Hank Hill with a gun than the Terminator.
I know this may sound a little anal, but if you look at when you died on the motorcycle stage and the cinematic pic came up that shows the playground after the nuclear blast and a date at the bottem...I'm not quite sure if the pic just doesn't come out clear or if it was a goof on the game, but is states the date as: August 24, 1997 and in the movie T2 the actual date of judgement day is August 29, 1997 stated by Sarah Conner while she was talking to the doctor during a taped session in the psych hsptl. If the date in the game does have the date as the 29th then I'm sorry for not having a 30' monitor that makes it clear enough. Please James, don't take this as a bad mark on your account for what can you expect from a shitty game. Great video and love your work as always!!
The jump in Super Nintendo reminds me of Michael Jackson for some reason.
I remember first seeing T2 in 2000 a week after I first saw the first film, and after seeing it, I went "8O... Man, this is awesome."
The plot of the Game Boy version of T2 is more easyer in "Terminator Salvation," and I love that movie.
Awesome way on destroying the SNES version of that mochery based on a great movie.
*Defend against the comment*
p.s. why can't i edit my post either?
@LJNGameDesigner why even defend the comment? Guess they are judge and jury... as well as poor game designers.
p.s. why are the posts in descended order?
I'm surprised nobody mentioned that LJN is Acclaim Ent. The games they made weren't much better. All of the Sega games have Flying Edge instead of LJN, but its still Acclaim. (In fact, I think Acclaim used their normal name instead of LJN for the international releases.)
Because remember, thanks to Nintendo's odd way of licensing in the NES days, Acclaim and Konami made seperate labels (LJN and Ultra, respectively) Of course... LJN was a toy company before being purchased for making games.
And the Master System and Game Gear got the same T2 that the NES got, while the Genesis got the same one the SNES got.
Terminator 2 is not that bad actually, the only really annoying thing is the motorcycle parts. you have to press a button and a direction to turn which is absurd, but the game stays pretty true to the movie though. the second level is pretty easy if you disable the alarm before you go in, everytime i play it i make it to the cyberdyne complex that level is extremely hard seeing you have to get John and Sarah through as well and they die quikly. definatly not the worst of LJN, they have done a lot worse then this.
but i doubt any of you will actually try the game yourself, all you really do is follow James's opinion like it is fact. i seriously recommend you sheep watch the movie called "the wave", it used to be an mandatory educational film about people that blindly follow a leader.
if Germans (still) had the same mentality like the fanboys on this site then WW3 would be around the corner. apparantly for most of you there is a very thin line between liking something and worshipping it to death!
ehem, it' called an opinion, mabye for you the game was good, but that doesn't mean is gonna be the same for everyone, i haven't played the game (and i never will, i don't play any game based on a movie) so i can't really say if it's true or not, but the video is funny and for me that's what it matters, and why germans ? just because of the world war 2 ? there are many many countries that can cause a world war 3, like north korea, and what if this "fanboys" played the game and didn't liked it ? be more opend minded will you
by the way, i'm not german, but putting them as an example for a world war 3 is just....well...racist (i guess)
Kamakazi-No, ljn doesn't make games anymore. Someone poured Pepto Bismol on their offices and cured the world of them.
I had the Genesis version of both games and the side scroller was just that terrible. I loved the arcarde shooter but the side scroller was so bad I returned it to the store in less than a week of buying it. Damn it just sucked so much.
i remember playing that when i was about 10 years old. it was the worst experience of my life. i have had nightmares about it for years. i still havnt recovered from T2 on SNES. the rainbow says it all. GAAAAAAAAAY!!!
Yeah those games did suck but I played that one life, no continue over and over. The music on the lvl 2 bike chase for nintendo was great though. Brings back memories, big time.
Hasta La Vista, Baby.....would have been better at the end...just my opinion :)
I would like to see the sega Terminator game haveing played it as a child but honestly, its nothing special. Not the worst not the best. LJN now has a reputation of making the worst games. I just dont understand how they could make such horrific pieces of cow shit.
are ljn still making games now ?? cause if they do i will kill myself :)
This game isvirtully inpenetratable
oh, man. this game is so hard. i remember, i've spent so much time on it, when i was young. but i couldn't pass even the truck stage.
There is still another Terminator game to try and that is RoboCop VS Terminator on sega.
LOL! Bloodlockscc I could really read the intensity in what you wrote XD
LJN didn't know JACKSHIT about how to program games! Fuck LJN!
Regarding above comment - NOT TRUE! We were simply mean, sadistically cruel human beings. And lazy. But not retarded. Well, maybe those guys they hired from West Virginia in '88...
LjN must be one of those companies that hire disadvantaged people, and in this case they hired all the special mentally ill game developers.
