ThrowntoReality Alien 3, ignore ALL Nintendo versions as they are ljn crudfests, instead Alien 3 on the Genesis (by Arena) is a decent yet very tough game, the controls aren't bad but it is hard! The levels are on quite short timers and you aren't some super-shooting badass marine with a million guns, you are RIpley who kicks just enough ass to stay alive if you don't screw up hehe
You are terminated try robocop vs the terminator and your in for a ride buy probably an arcade game don't know i just heard of it how you try the new terminator games James wave you even played terminator 3 on xbox.
The only LJN games that are playable are friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street. My Dad picked Friday up for next to nothing from a k-mart that was emptying it's inventory in the late 80's and I've always enjoyed that one it's a good challenge and is at least a game. Nightmare I traded a friend battletoads for years later (fuck that game level 9 is shit in a cart) and is fun every now and then to play through.
I'll be back!
"What a piece of fuckin dog shit!" Ahahaha I love the opening line.
jajaja LJN? nooooooooooooooo!!
you should have reviewed the sega genesis one. ita got the theme song in it!
the Sega CD game is awesome, the OST is made by Tommy Tellarico, pure gold
"nintendoguy15 April 12, 2010 at 4:24 pm
You left out the sega genesis game."
Well, he did actually mention in one of his other videos that, if he doesn't have the game, he can't review it. But I guess he could of mentioned it, anyways.
make love, not war... unless its war against LJN
This is probably the second time i've seen this video, and i still said "oh NO!" when I saw the shit rainbow.....
I'm playing the Terminator NES right now, and the levels after the ones James played are just as shitty as the rest, if not shittier. After the part James died on, you go to the present and have to fight policemen, dogs and thugs in a shopping mall, the policemen shoot at you but all you can do is punch, kind of like some of the Indiana Jones games James reviewed. And the hit detection is just as shitty as the knife in Rambo for NES.
What follows: an overhead driving stage, no bad action movie adaptation is complete without one. Haven't made it much further yet, but it really is an experience to play a really bad old game like that. I recommend looking at both the NES and SNES games at least once though, because the jumping is just so dorky it needs to be encountered first person, in my opinion.
LJN that fuckn rainbow!!
I noticed, that after chase part when you made a shot and hit the spear, you gained 100 points (8:06). So there you CAN gain another 50000x6 points and continue with jumping. :)
I don't know who is responsible for the first minute of this being so awesome,
but it belongs on your resume! That was pretty damn wise.
LJN........if LJN were to try and save the world we would be fucked for sure
OH NO! NOT THE LJN RAINBOW!!!O_o
Wasn't the DOS version the first FPS with a driving sequence or something like that?
Like most of the big film franchises, the Terminator films are one of my all-time favorites. It's a nice bled described by James at the beginning of this episode.
If you wanna talk about bad Terminator games, I've played T3: ROFM on Xbox. That game was a difficult mess to play through. It was so hard NOT to die, I had to punch in the invincibility code to continue through the game. The only good thing about it is that it has the Terminator theme on the start-up screen.
The NES game looks like it's powerful enough to drive the most logical of Vulcans to anger.
"Holy mother and f#cking god $h!t holy macroll gosh damn." XD
The music in the Sega CD game IS bitchin'. B)
The ending is absolutely hysterical!
Yeah the only thing at the end of that rainbow are turds!! Long live the Nerd!!
Also, if you want to see the ending on the SNES version without playing it, just let the intro run about 3 or 4 times, the ending AND credits roll. It saves the hassle of traversing through HUGE stages.
One thing I really don't understand about this review is in the NES Game.
During the Truck Sequence, you can aim your gun with Up and Down while driving with Left and Right. Allowing you to save extra lives for the Past by Killing the Flying HK (With a little luck) and the Ground HK (By shooting at that thing on its chest.) It has a nice range of aim too. Not like the SNES version with only 3 Direction aim.
And the Past in the NES should've been covered. I would've almost died laughing at the lack of movie accuracy in the fact that you get NO weapons save for 3 or so worthless baseballs. You have to punch and kick your way through the rest of the game (With two driving levels, with horrendous controls.)
@ Ferrobbra HVGN - Happy Video Game Nerd. Plays underrated NES classics.
@ Everyone I played the NES game. You know who subliscensed the game? Bethesda Softworks. Only they could publish this shitty anal fest.
who the fuck is HVGN?
Journey to Silius is hard, but it is really good. You are right about it being originally a Terminator game. The AVGN's counterpart, the HVGN, did a review of Journey to Silius.
the game is a disappointment what a bunch of shit they could have tried a little bit harder
Journey to Silius was REALLY hard (especially back when I first played it at age 9), and still is really hard, but it was the shit - it has what I personally believe to be one of the very best soundtracks of any NES game.
Yet another terrible licensed game... what a surprise. Its too bad that Sunsoft lost the Terminator license, the game they were planning for the property became Journey to Silius. Too bad that game for whatever reason never got the recognition it deserved.
AVGN tends to do that, he did the same with the first Batman video. I know he prefers Nintendo 8 and 16 bit consoles to the sega counterparts, that may have something to do with it (though he did highlight the Sega Cd version.)
I've heard that "Alien 3" by LJN is a decent game, but people say it's bad just because it's LJN that made the game. Is this true?
