James, have you seen Equilibrium? Near the end, when hes out for revenge its a complete massacre! It probably should have been on this list.

Hey James, did you know that in Heat they acctually fired off real blanks? they didnt edit the gun shots in. Thats why it sounds so real.

I miss the Scene of the Murder of Sonny Corleone in "The Godfather".

I'm also a little disappointed that Shoot 'Em Up wasn't on here. Way better than Hot Shots, as action/comedies go. That movie didn't just feature guns, they were the star of the movie. But it may have been to new to include on this list. Still, that movie was absolutely brilliant, for what it was going for.

I'm sorry, but 3000 Miles To Graceland needs to be in here. It had some of the best shootouts in an action movie. Just seeing Ice-T spinning while mowing people down, while upside down, just reaks of badass.

Good list, i HAVE to see some of these movies, by the way, The Expendables definitely takes this concept of shooting ups, celebrates it, and takes it up a notch!!!

Watched The Wild Bunch a few months ago on Netflix and absolutely loved the ending scene (always acted it out) and about to get Scarface on Netflix. Need to see some of these movies. Great review James!

I was kinda dissapointed that you didn't include "Shoot 'em up" or "Last man standing".
Shoot 'em up may not be a great movie, but it's a great parody and hard core action movie, I feel it should have been mentioned. Last man standing however is in my oppinion a really good movie and a cool tribute to both japanese and western movies.

But still a great review, as always.

Oh my fucking god. The rambo 4 scene is fucking so far over the top it is a classic. People exploding, enemy officers being gutted, how can this not be great? Comment on why terminator 2 was not on the list i think. If you remember the terminator was not allowed to kill anyone due to the fact that john conner ordered him not to . So even though there was alot of gunfire, there was no body count in the mini gun scene.

I almost orgasmed at the end of Scarface... Shame tony couldn't kill Sosa for a perfect ending.. for me anyways.

Kevlar isn't powerful enough (not then and not now) to take a single bullet that close let alone a whole fucking shower of 'em. His torso would have been torn apart in real life. And don't start giving me the "it's just a movie" shit. You tried to explain the thing with only KEVLAR!!! Fucking moron!

Yeah. Rambo 4 (Yeah, I call it Rambo 4) was awesome. It had a slow start but as soon as the shooting starts, it gets turned into a fucking awesome display of blood and gore and explosions and dead people. I love that movie. Yeah, I'm gonna go watch it after I watch the remaining Rocky movies, the Grindhouse movies, the Terminator movies, the Die Hard movies, the Alien movies, the 1953 and 2005 Spielberg War of the Worlds, and maybe some more. Yeah, I'm in a movie craze and this is the only week that I haven't played my Xbox for two hours and I've laid off my emulators (my only source of PC gaming since Windows XP fucked with my CPU's RAM).

K seriously though. I appreciated the surprise with Hot Shots, but where is Terminator 2? The scene when he is firing on the cops from that window with the minigun and the grenade launcher. Basically that whole movie is one entire long action scene

Great list, Scarface was bound to be on there eventually. You could've added the scene in Predator where Arnie and the other soldiers randomly fire all their ammo into trees, they even reload before realising no-one's there. THAT'S AWESOME!!!!

I'm in awe. I was actually surprised that "hot shots: part deux" made it on here, but i had a feeling it would. Although you didn't show my favorite scene where the guy get plastered to the wall and declares "That's one hell of a gun!"
