I agree, Muppets should have AC DC music. =D

  • Bottomfire

    April 8, 2010 at 5:22 pm

What song was played during the Harry Potter part?
I got into AC/DC because of you James and i thank you very much for that.

  • April 10, 2010 at 3:02 pm

Maximum Overdrive won’t be the only movie to have an AC/DC soundtrack! The upcoming Iron Man 2 has its own soundtrack with AC/DC that I know will have AC/DC fans (including you James) crap their pants!

BTW, we know you did the whole “every movie should have AC/DC music” joke for the video, but when can we see your First Blood re-edit with AC/DC that you’ve been holding it out on us for two years?

lol muppets with AC/DC = best idea EVER

  • OldStuffFan

    April 24, 2010 at 6:38 am

Hi James, this is video is great. And instead of AC/DC: You must watch Iron Man 2 because its soundtrack is AC/DC including “Highway To Hell”, “Thunderstruck” and many others.

Please make a movie review of both Iron Man movies! And of the others Marvel comic films too!

See you in may as AVGN again!

HAHA XD, AC/DC!!! Would have been so much cooler if Harry Potter had AC/DC in it *W*… Or Lion King 8D, Haha… imagine that xD

  • May 15, 2010 at 1:14 am

I have been a fan of AC/DC for about 20 years now. In fact AC/DC who made who was the frist album I really bought on my own. I didn’t know until a few years later that it was the soundtrack to Maximum Overdrive. I love the band and I love this movie.

Stephen King has a category 5 boner for living inanimate objects,
    this is truth!

‘Dis machine just called meh an asshole >:(”

Also i thought the coach in Mighty Ducks was micheal j fox not Ameilio Estavez

      October 7, 2016 at 1:43 am

At this point in his life, he also had a hard on for cocaine and alcohol. Stephen King has gone on the record saying that he doesn’t remember hardly anything from directing this movie because he was on an alcohol and cocaine bender the entire time. No fucking joke.

    June 1, 2010 at 2:13 am

LOLOLOL thunderstruck and Dr.Teeth. I Love this Movie and this sountrack “Who made Who” is one of the top 10 best AC/DC songs ever. Emilio Estevez’s best after Men At Work. R.I.P. Bon Scott.

    June 16, 2010 at 1:21 pm

The Predator DVD is the same. And the Aliens one is, too… Well, plus a trailer.

BTW, Iron Man 2 has Queen (“Another One Bites the Dust”) and AC/DC (“Highway to Hell :and something else) in it, and “You’ve been…” was synchronized perfectly to the Emperor’s mouth.

    June 19, 2010 at 5:29 pm

God damn it, James! Are you telling us that every movie should have AC/DC?! XP Or are you just upset that they didn’t do a cover on AVGN. 😉

    Anyways, nice review.

HAHAHA, this was my first Stephen King movie I ever saw (about three years ago, I was 12) and my dad said, “what did you think?” And I thought the movie was more funny than anything else

    October 16, 2010 at 4:33 pm

This movie is great! Especially when you play a drinking game with it. You take a drink every time you : Hear AC/DC, See the Green Goblin face, Someone dies, A machine is destroyed or someone says the word “Made”. You are guaranteed to have a get wasted and have a lot of fun in the process. Have fun! =)

  • LeonardoPA

If you’re looking for a really crappy dvd, try Rocketman. It’s a Disney film, and it doesn’t even have a scene select. If you press “skip ahead” on your dvd remote, it skips the entire movie!

Guess what the “skip back” button does?

Damn James, I registered on your site just to make a comment on this video (and more in the future) just because I laughed so hard while watching it, I felt I needed to praise it a bit. By the way, you have the best fucking registering system for any site. Enter a username and email. Get an email. Here’s your fucking password. It’s simple yet perfect.

Anyways, back to the review, this and other reviews make me want to watch the movie because your review, in that sense, is perfect. I love the way you structure your videos to flow, and that’s what counts. I used to only watch your AVGN videos because I thought your movie reviews were going to be boring, but they aren’t. They’re great. And now I’m trying to find everything you have ever made and I’m going to watch/read it until my mind blows to hell because you are that great.

I hope for your sake that someday, you can be a large movie producer, or whatever you want to do, because I think you have demonstrated that you can get there. Maybe what you want to do you aren’t ready for yet, but I think you have shown that you will be able to get there. (If that makes sense).

    Good luck Mr. Rolfe. =)

  • January 11, 2011 at 9:54 pm

james, i just wanted to let you know that this is one of the first videos of yours that i saw about 2 years ago. it made me laugh when you put ac/dc music to cinderella and the muppets movie.
i went out and rented maximum overdrive after i saw this review and had a horror movie marathon with my friends. we really enjoyed this one. not a great movie but it was fun watching it with friends and cracking jokes. we even came away with a favorite line that we often repeat, usually with no prompting: “Fucked if i know, Bubba.”

    June 16, 2011 at 11:41 pm

Man, it’s fucking true. EVERY fucking movie should have ac/dc as background.

And lords of the rings should have have blind guardian as st, not that soporific shit of enya.

  • bullshit

    June 20, 2011 at 1:38 am

    I LOVE!!! this movie
Ifirst saw it as a kid, and would reinact/remakes scenes, such as the drawbridge at the begining and the waitress/bartender? getin shot by the army turret, with Legos, Hot Wheels, or video games
I watched it for a second time last year and can’t wait to watch it again
Oh, and AC/DC (or as YouTube once called it, AD/CD T_T) is an added bonus
    Fuck that icecream truck

  • krazyzark

    July 4, 2011 at 7:04 pm

great movie. Much better than the made for tv Trucks (a guy killed by a plastic RC car???)… plus AC/DC. I wouldn’t call them metal either. More hard rock blues, but they still kick ass.

    Ac/Dc is so overrated

  • Akatskimilan

    August 23, 2011 at 10:09 am

So, does that mean the opening to Iron Man was done right?

I do agree, more movies need to use AC/DC.

  • September 5, 2011 at 5:50 pm

As a hardcore metal head, if you think AC/DC is horrible, then you aren’t a hardcore metal head.

  • Elvenking

    September 30, 2011 at 9:36 pm

    Okay…three things….
1.) I hate the fact that the Ad’s are FULL FUCKING VOLUME when I go to the the next video to watch. I suppose it’s due to the reasonable levels of your content…but I’d rather not have to put a compressor inline to watch the videos. I know I have mentioned it before…but I feel like if I have to experience it everytime I hit a video…you should hear about it.

2.) You can hate AC\DC…but my friend….you are in the minority.

3.) As always…awesome video James…I simply enjoy watching these reviews to the fullest…especially the 80’s ones…please do more 80’s.

  • October 2, 2011 at 10:26 pm

    Fuck harry Potter.

    March 21, 2012 at 8:25 pm

That’s why Iron Man beat the hell out of any other superhero movie (Other than Nolan’s Batman, which would also should’ve AC/DC anyways).

  • JoshSilvis

    March 31, 2012 at 4:39 am

Wow. The Thuderstruck Star Wars clip was genius. That was timed so damn perfectly. Not to mention that’s one of their best songs ever. Idc how shitty of a movie it is, Stephen King is one of the coolest mother fuckers alive. I give it a 10 just for that.

The difference with closed captioning is they tell you when certain sounds are happening that you wouldn’t hear as a deaf person. So it’s not limited to just speech.
