I am really glad I passed up this game now. I heard about it when it came out but never got the chance to play it. I also really liked Dick Tracy when it came out in both the movies and the cartoon show and I also dressed up as Dick Tracy for Hallowen. How could they make this game? Nice review, James.

I’ve first seen “Dick Tracy” on TV when I was in 1st Grade (1993). I like the movie, but Dickard isn’t as tough as a detective as Batman. Also, this was the first movie where I was introduced to Madonna.
I find the snipers both pointless and horrendous in a game like this. It’s just an anger indusing addition to have.
I wonder how different the Genesis version of this game is.
I like the updates James made in the YouTube version of this episode, including the one about the healt power-ups.
Good thing that nowadays, we have good detective games like “Batman: Arkham Asylum.” Wait. Good? Arkham Asylume is actually GREAT. =D
The ending is one of the best ending to an AVGN episode.

will we ever get rocketeer? I know that at this point old shitty unbeatable NES games are almost trite. To get more health you have to pick up the heart and press select until you see medkit then to use it you have to hold B and press select, and If your goning to play this game I suggest getting the passwords online, but I really suggest just not playing this game, if you want to play a good game by Bandai then play Mighty Morphin Power Rangers on SNES

This has got to be one of my favorite AVGN episodes. It may be because of the very genuine outburst or rage we see at the end…or it may be because of how much I can relate to that feeling. I got this as a kid as well and remember it all too well and seeing episodes of games I too played as a kid is always more enjoyable.

Did anyone here played “The Rocketeer” on NES…?
It was also developed by Bandai America on 1991. Now that i look again this vid i realize the horrendous music and the attractive cinematics this one had. Probably a strong sympthom of LJN-itis… someone should make some research on that.
Oh, and PLEASE don’t play that game if you are fans of the comic-book or have enjoyed the movie, or you love games.

I remember renting this game as a kid and after 3hrs of nearly wanting to put my controller through the television screen, I asked my parents to take me back to the video store. I lied and said the game didn’t work and the guy let me pick out a different one at no charge. Too bad I picked Godzilla.

I had this game back then. I played it a lot and actually managed to beat it eventually. It was a lot better than the Dick Tracy game on Gameboy if you ask me.

To keep the snipers from becoming a problem later in the game (particularly during the car chase scenes), it’ll help to just drive around for a while, get out of the car and shoot as many as you can. They’ll stay dead for the rest of the game (unless you continue.) If you need to, go into a building and use First Aid to refill your health.
