LOL this is sooo funny. I remeber several games that had the flaw of partners hiting one anouther. Streets of rage on sega genisis is one. My sisters and I could never make it far because we would hit each other and steal power ups and extra lives. It was fun and annoying all at the same time

An other favorite episode of mine, because Kyle Justin has a bigger role than just the guy who sings the theme song.
I love the part where Kyle tries not to laugh during “GET YOUR @$$ BACK BEHIND THE F#CKIN’ COUCH!!!”

I beat TMNT and Fester’s Quest as a kid. I beat Mike Tyson’s Punch Out about 5 years ago after getting to Mike Tyson as a kid and never beating him. I got pretty far in this one growing up but never completed it. As Stinkoman would say, “Are you ready for a challenge???!!!”

This game is fun but there’s too many different level types and some of them are just exercises in pain. There’s a port of this game on the original Game Boy, called Battletoads in Ragnarok’s World, that cuts out all that shit, and it’s an excellent port, though I don’t think it’s multiplayer, and in any case Game Boys were intended more for a person to carry around with them, so they never did multiplayer very well.

If memory serves me correctly, the Sega Genesis version has all of the things you complained about fixed and/or added in (silence when you hit pause, 1 or 2 player selection menu, and you cannot hurt your friend). Maybe you should give it a try with Guitar Guy and see if you both can beat it

Actually i have the japanese version of Battletoads on famicom, and the first difference is that at the title screen there is a regular choose mode for one or two players, like in Contra. But the all game is exactly the same as he US or Pal version. And yes, this game insn’t fun in 2 players mode

i think this is the first episode in the basement, if you watch all the other videos up to this point he is in like an office/bedroom, but i think this is the first time he is in the iconic basement. totally loved this game when i was younger. my cousin was over and we had rented it for genesis. we were having a great time .., “man quit hitting me!” ,.. “i didn’t try to”and we were jamming to the pause music when my grandma decided to record us over one of my audio tapes so we would know how we sounded. i guess it was that bad.

Though I do agree with James and Kyle, The 2-Player Mode gets you nowhere…
I think there should be a sequel with “BattleManiacs”, thinking that “Well, maybe the fixed the problems the first time around…”, only to realize nothing has changed…
Heck, the only BT game where you CAN’T completely harm the other player is The Arcade Game. Sadly, like X-Men and Simpsons, never got a home console release…
Then again, they DID get re-released on X-Box Live Arcade, so…
Ah, who am I kidding? With the way Rare is nowadays, I’d have a better chance asking for “Bubsy 4″ or “Sticky Balls 2″…*Shudder*
