I’d love to see the recall of this episode where you cover R.O.B. I’ll admit that I know very little about it, how it works and what exactly it does, but so far as I know, it is compatable with only two games, Gyromite and Stack-Up. Can’t wait to see a review of that one.
Nice dude,I like how you reviewed every N.E.S accessory(with the exception of R.O.B.).By the way,you must have gotten your excersise for the day after you ran on the Power Pad
Man, this is like my 5th watch through of all your episodes james, they are so awesome… You got me into retro gaming and the history of video games in general thanks to your awesome history videos like this, nintendo power, and various console reviews.
I actually doubt i would be like I am today without your vids..
I hate to be “that guy” but when are you gonna do ROB the Robot??? I’ve been waiting since you gave us this little tease I’ve always wanted to see it in action and learn about it, but never seen one and it has so many components and things that can break on it that I don’t want to shell out $50 for one on Ebay that might be missing shit. I’m guessing you know all about it though James…please I beseech you, share your knowledge oh great and powerful nerd! hahaha
You forgot one of the worst…. The Aura Interactor. I’d offer to donate mine, but some poor sap stole it… I dunno whether to be mad, to laugh, or to feel sorry for him/her/it… Probably in the hospital right now with a coma and a severe spinal injury. LOL!
Wow Konami. It’s kind of funny seeing that they once made games and game related products (besides yugioh). To most people today (me included) they’re just known for yugioh basically. Seeing anything else by them is just surreal.
“World Track Class”… oh jeez I love the 100m track on this game… I loved how I could do 100m in less than 6 fucking seconds! Talk about a world record… My max speed I saw on screen was 22m/s — 79.2km/h! I wonder if it’s humanly possible?
@ljngamessuck@Hellder7 Yeah, I guess so, never tried it in real life… no I did, my best was 13.62sec in 100m track… anyway… I love your name Soooo true.
Ahh nice to see all these excesories. ya know when i was really young i use to play the sega genesis alot and there was this one baseball game that had like robots in it and id really like to know what it was if anyone hee knows thanks! btw this is my first comment:)
l stayed at a lake house once that a family was renting out while they went on vacation and in my room I discovered a NES and Atari 4600 games, I also found the black joystick for the Atari and the version of the NES controller I found as that gray one with the ugly, like wood brown piece of paper around the controls. I was really disappointed to find neither of the systems themselves, though. I was like “FUCK!!!! My first chance to play these and there are NO FUCKING SYSTEMS!!!!!” (I had a serious nerd freak-out!!!!) It got even worse when I checked the games and most were ass LJN titles.
Anyway, as always great review man and keep up with the awesome vids and good luck with the movie. ^_^
I’m catching up on AVGN and watching them all one by one, and this one made me laugh so hard. The sequence where he just goes “can’t beleive we have to use this shitty game again” and using Top Gun was absolutely brilliant!
It’s a great thing that LJN are gone, but their products still exist, so I would like it if we gathered all of their stuff and burn it on a bonfire. I even bought a gun for my PS2 but I have a HDTV, so it didn’t work.
It’s probably already mentioned, but I think you’ve got to center the Rolling Rocker before starting up the NES, so that you calibrated its center position.

I bet when most of these accessories were panned, Nintendo felt accessSORRY. (I can hear the BOOS right now.=))
I love these movie refferences you pull out, James, and the one from “Back to the Future Part II” is no exception.
I bet the light guns won’t work with HDTVs. Is this true? I like to know.
I remember playing a piano computer game when I was in the 2nd Grade.
6:42- If I wanna use my regular fingers for a video games, I’ll just place the controller on my leg in various moments of the gameplay.
I still find the Rolling Rock/Roll & Rocker moment amazing.
In speaking of ROB the Robot, any plans on reviewing him soon, James?
October 28, 2010 at 8:33 am
