Nice job… Didn’t even know there was a game based on this movie, or the Holloween movie. By the way, nice collection of video games, as I grew up we only had 3 games, Mario (with the ducks and the olympic theme combo), Zelda, and Operation Wolf (I think). Our friends let us borrow some games like ninja turtles and i remeber complaining about the same shit… specially on the water level.

I after I saw this video and Halloween. I hade to get games. It took about 2 months just get em. I paid 75 $ on Texas Chainsaw Massacre and 240 $ for Holloween. I was lucky geting Halloween. It took hard bargainiing to get this guy drop the price from 300$ $.

This review was great. It had everything that a horror fan could want. Nice end also to this review leading in to Halloween. Keep on making them man.

I don’t know how I missed this review. I think that this is my all-time favorite so far! AWESOME!!!

August 23, 2010 at 5:21 pm

October 5, 2010 at 8:30 pm
Is that game really worth that much?
October 6, 2010 at 5:32 pm
Hey! That’s the head from the Head Incident!
October 11, 2010 at 11:22 am
Who is that guy shooting at Leatherface on the cover?
October 20, 2010 at 8:56 pm
The image on the cartrige looks like a lamp made out of human bone and skin, like something found in the movie.
I played a little of this game a sort while ago online, and it’s a repetative as you say it is, James.
Awsomely well done with the story on this episode, just like all the other story-driven episodes.
October 21, 2010 at 2:52 pm
i didnt know that the AVGN lived in such a hick neighborhood
November 27, 2010 at 10:06 pm
Best Chop-Top impression I’ve ever seen. Actually I’m routinely impressed by the impressions of movie villains/monsters that you guys do.
February 3, 2011 at 7:32 am
I’ve never seen the original movie but Mike’s acting was really impressive as the hipee guy!
February 9, 2011 at 2:02 pm
really well made, quality episode.
February 18, 2011 at 4:53 pm
wow, are your fans really that annoying?
February 23, 2012 at 2:52 am
Not ALL of them, I’m a huge fan, but I NEVER question him, if he doesn’t want to play E.T., then he doesn’t have to.
March 8, 2012 at 4:03 pm
@the_pieman ET is coming, it’s the main plot device of the movie.
March 6, 2011 at 11:34 pm
I liked the Bela Lugosi in the background. I also liked the little jabs you took at some of your critics and fans. “Well, if he doesn’t like playing video games why the fuck is he playing video games?” “You’re next game review is gonna be ET right?” Great job recreating the feel of the movie.
March 24, 2011 at 5:50 am
You know, one thing I always wondered. Is the hillbilly your dad, or uncle or something?
Great episode, and great characters. A classic.
April 8, 2011 at 7:40 pm
i kinda liked what the hippie said upon entering. ” hey, look, it’s the ANN! or more like the AVGN!” ftw!

I think this review was worth leaving a comment for
May 27, 2011 at 4:36 pm
LOL! Great Chop Top reference!!! He’s no Bill Moseley, but he was funny as shit! I’m a die-hard rabid horror fan, and this one made me cheese like a lunatic. I didn’t even know Atari did a Texas Chainsaw Massacre game! All I got as a kid was fucking Bezerk. >_>
August 2, 2011 at 4:10 pm
@Miss Horrorshow Atari didn’t make a Texas Chainsaw Massacre game. It was made by Wizard.
August 6, 2011 at 9:59 am
this was funny cause of the hippie, game seller, and letherface
August 21, 2011 at 3:23 pm
A bunch of shit!?
Fantastic Dizzy on the Genesis is not shit, dammit >8C
Goddamn rednecks ¬¬
January 21, 2012 at 11:22 pm
Dizzy is one of my favorite games on genesis!
October 24, 2011 at 6:20 pm
Oh Nerd, you should be more genre savvy and not purchase games from some creepy redneck in the middle of nowhere…
All the acting and production in the video were fantastic. I like the little nods to your own crazy fans (“Your next game is gonna be ET, right?” “What kind of editing software you use?”)
Texas Chainsaw Massacre/Halloween videos are still my favorite AVGN Halloween specials.
October 26, 2011 at 2:52 pm
Trully one of my favorite episodes, because of the characters. But not the best cause the game itself is not very intrestin.
November 14, 2011 at 12:26 am
Love the fan reference. xD Rest assured, we’re not all that bad.
November 29, 2011 at 3:03 am
First AVGN I ever seen 4 years ago. Now one of my favorite passtimes is Cinemassacre.com. Thank you for the enlightenment, James. This ones a classic for me.

This is one of the greatest episodes ever! I liked this so much, don’t know how often I’ve seen this so far.
Oh and I love the extra actors! Hillbilly was top notch. Excellent work.
January 31, 2012 at 11:40 pm
I’ve noticed a problem with this video. Does anyone here a sharp “BEEEP” noise? I found it around “3:56″. and its not that one time either. it happends several times.
February 6, 2012 at 12:39 am

November 6, 2012 at 4:49 am
GOOOOOD How the fuck Haven’t I watched whit before?!?!?!?! One of the best AVGN episodes guys!!!!!
November 26, 2012 at 9:19 pm
Okay, who is that guy who played the hillbilly and why isn’t he in more episodes? He’s awesome! I wish we could see him in more stuff. Is his performance based on another character from a movie? I know the fanatic is. His line delivery and acting is so unique and hilarious, he’s instantly my favorite part of this video!
December 18, 2012 at 1:24 am
It’s interesting. I watched all the Texas Chainsaw Massacre Movies consecutively a few months ago, having already seen some, but not others, and from an artistic standpoint, I really appreciated the multiple homages to multiple entries in the series including:
-The coat hanger guy. I’ve only seen TCM2 once, and I recognized your version of the character right away. Well acted.
-The guy dragging AVGN while singing the MF song which I remembered for YEARS as a kid as I’d always laugh at this part of TCM3. To me it always seemed ridiculously funny how such an awful antagonist could find a mood casual enough to sing in a situation like that, and with curse words nonetheless. It was one of my favorite parts of any TCM movie and yet you reference it here out of a billion scenes that could have been referenced; Excellence.
-The forced playing of the game at the end with it’s similarity to the hit-hammer-on-head scenes from the movies. The placement of playing the game as the torture method was clever, as was having leather-face get stopped by the bike.
Whoever played leather-face has that chainsaw “dancing” move down pat. The creativity used in this review has to be among the best I’ve seen from AVGN. Well done.
December 25, 2012 at 5:56 pm
I haven’t watched the movie, and I understand many here noticed many references in the video. But, maybe its just me, isn’t he also references his funboys…
February 2, 2013 at 9:59 pm
James you really came a long way. Keep up the great work and one day I hope you become one fantastic film director.
