I fucking hate those things
April 19, 2010 at 10:44 pm
Yeah, what the fuck man?! That was how my Nightmare On Elm St. boxset was when I got it from Amazon.com.
May 16, 2010 at 6:22 am
In Australia they have this security lock thing down the edge of the case and the people at the counter remove it with a special device. When I got Transformer’s 2 they forgot too take it out and we had to smash the case to open it
June 20, 2014 at 6:55 pm
oh man, that’s fucking bullshit … i would’ve gone berserk. Ok i wouldnt but i would be very much pissed off at them. Why dont you go back there and tell them that’s bullshit???
May 21, 2010 at 3:49 am
yeah they did the same thing to my pack of the 3 first indiana jones movies :l
May 25, 2010 at 5:56 pm
you know that realy is bullshit who the fuck would come up with an idea like that.they do that to all kinds of shit like video games and other shit just imagine if they did that to clothes.
December 6, 2014 at 10:55 pm
that would be a fucking nightmare
May 30, 2010 at 12:25 pm
Yeah I hate those, even on dvd’s wrapped in plastic have those
June 2, 2010 at 6:04 am
We don’t have that in the UK. I guess America is just more security conscious. I gotta say though, the strips are pretty pointless.
June 4, 2010 at 2:23 am
they have those on newer video games as well.
However, it is only on the top. lol
June 4, 2010 at 5:49 pm
my bruce lee box set has that it takes like 5 mins to put the dvd in the dvd player wat the fuck
June 9, 2010 at 1:35 pm
I hate that stupid tape on the top of the case! I always end up ripping the stupid cover of the box, godammit!
June 12, 2010 at 12:13 pm
I love your opinion on stuff, you always got the point!
June 12, 2010 at 8:29 pm
You are fuckin right james
July 3, 2010 at 4:52 am
I actually like peeling those off ^^
July 7, 2010 at 2:46 am
About not getting those security plastic thingies off (for lack of name) I had to take my movie back to Blockbuster where they took it off.
Oh and I hate the labels.
July 15, 2010 at 4:35 pm
July 16, 2010 at 4:34 pm
They’re there so you can’t buy it, copy it to a blank dvd or rip it, and then return it. The alternative was to not permit any returns on dvds/cds. Instead, they put that tape there so that if someone buys it and then wants to return it (or say, gives it to someone as a gift and the recipient doesn’t want it) it can be returned as long as the tape is there, since that guarantees it wasn’t opened and copied.
August 5, 2010 at 8:29 pm
That shit happens to me evrytime i buy a game. like a bought a pre-used game the disc was fine and it was cheap.. but the bitch in the register put a fucking security label on it!! i mean what the fucking ass crap was the point off that.. and when i triede to remove it (back home) THE text got stuck in the plastic on the game i mean COME ON!.. it’s a fucking joke that they do that too a pre-used game
August 23, 2010 at 12:22 am
I’m with ya James i hate those kinds of DVD packaging who’s dumb idea was that anyways?
August 27, 2010 at 3:46 pm
Take a knife and run it down the middle of the sticker. When you’ve got a straight line all the way through it, pull it from that middle seam. They usually come off in one pull and keep you from bending the plastic covering on the case itself.
September 20, 2010 at 8:33 pm
Yeah I hated it when the library does the security case thing because when we rented family guy blue harvest, we forgot to unlock the case, when we couldn’t open it we used the knife to try to unlock it but it didn’t work so nice job stupid libraries
October 3, 2010 at 11:20 pm
I may be in the minority, but I actually sort of like peeling those security seals off. It is like a little ritual for a new purchase. Though it does suck if you have a couple purchases to unwrap.
October 10, 2010 at 5:53 pm
I got the Lord of the Rings extended addition with three stickers, a layer of plastic around it, inside a box with all the special features in it’s own little case, and the box was litterally taped shut. It took me ten minutes just to figure out how to open the damn thing
October 17, 2010 at 8:33 pm
Why have it even worse over here, now in england, the annoying thing about this is ,now you have to wait for a stupid cleark to come over with here staff card to deactivate the security tag then they take of the magnetic strip, so its like everytime you get a dvd they have to see everytime what your buying, help this is all Bullshit, before you know it they are going to be including finger print scanner to unsure you probal dont steal, or maybe perhaps to check if you are at the legal age to watch the dvd, yeah thats all BULLSHIT
October 24, 2010 at 12:59 pm
A week ago, I made a blog on ThatGuyWithTheGlasses.com about this, and I talk about some DVDs today that don’t have the stickers. If anyone’s interested in reading it, you can find it here:
November 9, 2010 at 6:50 pm
You know whats bull-shit? Well evey time i try to watch aclip from the master James Rolfe this stupid shit makes m watch some fucking dumb ad before i can watched the desired clip . Look I understand advertising, and that in order to keep up the web-site we have to deal with shit like this but, Godit seems they findte shittiest shows or products to advertise. If thats not bad enough they play the same ones over and over if you watch different clips!!! NOW THAS BULL-SHIT!!
November 9, 2010 at 6:52 pm
SORRY ABOUT THE MISS SPELLINGS AND ERRORS IN THE COMMENT ABOVE MY KEYBOAD IS FUCKED UP, THATS BULL-SHIT TOO…LOL
November 11, 2010 at 4:53 pm
This kind of shit just encourages people fucking up their DVD packaging.
Like when Warner releases older films in promotion, they add this stupid sticker on the top sides, and when you try to pull it off you just ruin the whole thing.
November 27, 2010 at 12:34 pm
Same with videogames, there is always a piece of the sticker that you missed.
February 26, 2011 at 10:53 am
U know what should be your next bullshit video??? FUCKING ADDS i hate them!!! Each time your trying to watch a video on youtube or for example your videos, u got to wait 15 to 45 seconds just to watch them!
I mean imagine before u can watch a 5 second video, u got to watch 30 seconds of damn adds!!! Same thing for movies!!!
Man if i could talk to the guy who had the brilliant idea to invent adds and put them fucking everywhere, i think i would punch him in that face and say that adds are BULLSHIT!!!
Im the fast man and avgn isint bullshit!
March 5, 2011 at 1:47 pm
you know whats buuulllshit. That I don’t live in USA
March 20, 2011 at 6:50 am
You know whats bullshit? These videos should be way longer! Why only 1 minute averages?! If you hate something that much then vent, man. You should rant for at least 10 minutes.
March 20, 2011 at 1:08 pm
You got nothing to complain about TRY WORKING AT A VIDEO STORE!!!
April 11, 2011 at 6:10 pm
You really know what’s bullshit? Contractors.
June 1, 2011 at 1:37 am
Heh, it was kinda fun watching this and looking over on my shelf at the same RH box set that AVGN is complaining about. I haven’t opened mine yet… I wonder if I’ll have to go through all that :/
September 22, 2011 at 12:47 pm
I got something that’s bullshit, the security stickers on games. If the game is broken you’re allowed to return it, but if you remove the security sticker then you can’t! How are you supposed to find out whether the game is broken or not without opening the casing?? Society is bullshit.
October 20, 2011 at 6:51 pm
You know whats more bullshit? Those little tabs. I often get DVDs with tape on them, i go to open the up and the little tabs stop me!
November 13, 2011 at 9:23 pm
I ruined a Popeye DVD trying to get those fucking things off
December 18, 2011 at 10:41 pm
I’ve never seen those security stickers before. I guess they don’t have them in my country because they don’t keep the DVDs in their cases, they keep them behind the counter and put them in the case when you buy them. I also haven’t seen those clear covers for box sets
March 21, 2012 at 7:30 am
What I’ve never understood is why when I buy a new release for $25+ there will be no security stickers, or maybe just one along the long seam. But whenever I’m buying cheap movies they load up the security. I mean, even if you accept the dubious argument that these stickers prevent theft, why would you want to protect a $5 movie more than a $25 movie? It’s like they know you’re getting the movie for a really low price so they have to kick you in the nuts to even the score.
April 10, 2012 at 11:26 pm
it’s an art: opening a dvd case without leaving residue and removing all of the stickers. the tool of the trade is a exacto blade or utility knife. start neat the spine along the top and bottom and the middle on the side and cut lightly (just to break the film) now open the case and lift the label and remove each half serately
May 12, 2012 at 9:19 am
Ya know whats bullshit? School!
June 25, 2012 at 8:32 pm
YKWBS? Not being able to exit fullscreen after the video ends!
April 27, 2013 at 9:14 pm
yep thats fucking bullshit
May 28, 2013 at 9:28 pm
james is awsome
July 17, 2013 at 12:05 pm
tears the god dam thing up
September 10, 2013 at 12:56 pm
Only for DVDs!
September 20, 2013 at 6:52 am
The past 3 DVD sets of Bleach I recently got had the name of the dvd on the dvd 7 fucking times… as if i wouldn’t know what the dvd was from the cover alone… and all the plastic layers adn stickers.. plus the useless cardboard slipcase over the dvd box.. what a pain in the ass…
October 27, 2013 at 7:06 pm
Love it, and I thought I was the only one who hated these things.
May 30, 2014 at 10:18 am
I have raged literally every single time i have had to deal with these things. No joke. Ever single time i open one of those or a music CD, I have to amp myself up and i go into the same rant every time. fuck those things.
June 10, 2014 at 2:44 pm
you wanna know what is fucking bullshit day one dlc why do I have to pay for that I don’t mind dlc but day one dlc is a way for greedy game companies to get extra money its bull shit that day one dlc should already be on the fucking disk
December 25, 2015 at 12:58 pm
And nothing but a waste.
August 8, 2016 at 2:26 pm
I think that the equation goes like:
More shit inside and aoutside the packaging means a better movie!
August 4, 2018 at 6:02 pm
