Hey, I like both Rolling Rock and Yuengling.
May 14, 2010 at 5:59 am
Yeah this review is a classic, Mike Matei can play pretty much any character, he’s badass!
June 1, 2010 at 4:46 pm

i liked the spiderman games for the playstation 1
and i liked two and three for the ps2
i’ve also got spiderman 3 for the xbox 360 but spiderman 1 the movie game was horrible
August 2, 2010 at 3:52 am
And again, no spiderman games from Genesis, while Genesis Spider-man games were pretty decent.
Also, Spider-man is one of bosses in Revenge of Shinobi, I don’t know if that counts.
August 3, 2010 at 10:24 am
it is kyle justin
August 9, 2010 at 2:34 am
This is probably the best VIDEO I’ve seen on here. They way they get along, it’s just so fucking cheerful. It’s just so refreshing to see normal people acting this way. It’s not my favorite game he’s reviewed, or even my favorite episode, it’s just my favorite video. It’s just two buddies doing stuff, playing games, binge drinking, real life. The video plays like a diary, I just love it.
August 22, 2010 at 4:51 pm
this is by far my favourite video, just hearing kyle actually speaking is hilarious to me. classic video, i love it.
September 4, 2010 at 12:52 am
The best part of this episode is the song! Lmao. And @ kamakazie geek “The Amazing Spiderman” for PSOne was the best spiderman game of all-time. A little tricky, but so awesome. And I still remember the cheat for all costumes. Eel Nats (Stan Lee backwards.)
October 10, 2010 at 5:16 am
the first nerd episode i ever saw
October 18, 2010 at 11:36 am
This one is one of my favorites. Spiderman may be the best guest star you’ve ever had.
October 20, 2010 at 4:07 pm
What is it with LJN and them making almost every Marvel Comic based game on the NES and SNES?
The only Spidy games I’ve played are “Spider-Man 2″ and “Ultimate Spider-Man” on the Xbox. I AM interested in playing “Spider-Man: Shattered Dimentions,” which I heard is pretty good.
October 20, 2010 at 8:07 pm
Damn I saw this episode a year ago and then saw it again just now and I just relaized that its Kyle Justin in the Costume! Duh Randy! lol GO Nerd!!
December 18, 2010 at 10:31 pm
I’m a dumbass! I try to use foul language in an attempt to sound like my hero James, but I just sound like the pathetic loser that I am!
December 21, 2010 at 1:07 pm
Thank god for the Spider-man games on the Playstation, nothing beats Ultimate Spider-man though.
January 31, 2011 at 9:45 pm
Exactly man! These reviews are fucking genius! This was the golden age of the Nerd!
March 13, 2011 at 3:25 pm
great, love it. poop.
April 25, 2011 at 7:17 pm
I like it better when Kyle Justins in these videos I think hes funnier.
May 14, 2011 at 9:39 am
Spiderman, Spiderman takes a dump in a coffee can! lol very funny
May 15, 2011 at 9:14 am
“There is a SUICIDE button in this game??” LMAO.
May 19, 2011 at 1:26 pm
All-around win. For starters, this is one of my favorite AVGN Theme remixes (and the accompanying fan art is just as win), and the fact that Spidey is one of the few game character guest stars than the Nerd didn’t get pissed at and beat up/get beaten up by.
June 5, 2011 at 4:37 pm
there also are 2 or 3 sucking Spiderman games on the SNES! They’re so bad, especially considering when they came out.
Thanks to your video, I figured out that I owned the Spiderman for GAMEBOY, I didn’t even remember it, but I still remember the DISAPPOINTMENT of buying a lot of games that should have been wonderful and then fucking sucked!
I mean, you think of Spiderman, one of the most famous and funny superheroes!… but no, they came up with that Gameboy game that was so fucking bad and hard…
And I also figured out that I had a lot of patience as a kid, because I beated I guess about 4 or 5 levels of that Spiderman hyper-difficult game, in fact I went up to Venom or Carnage or whatever, I don’t remember anymore, but was really far. I don’t know how as a kid I had so much patience to try beating the game until I got sort of a perfect run, because old games were like that, you could only beat em being PERFECT.
That game’s really hard, you suck at everything, have only a few lives and continues, how could companies trick kids like that??? And they costed like 40 dollars or so!!! And most of them sucked hard, even if we were used to sucking-balls games and we didn’t notice it so much!
June 17, 2011 at 8:54 pm
On the gameboy, where were the webs attaching to? the fucking clouds?
July 8, 2011 at 8:43 pm
oh god I lover spider man
August 9, 2011 at 2:02 am
Yuengling lager?! … a few times I’ve seen Clover Farms milk crates … nerd, you wouldn’t happen to be from Eastern PA would you? Specifically Berks County?
August 16, 2011 at 4:31 pm
Hello James this is my first comment so I thought I’d post it on the first video of yours that I saw and I just wanted to say I found you hilarious back
then and I find you hilarious now
August 17, 2011 at 6:17 pm
Yes! The nerd and I share a local brew! That must mean you live within 2 or 3 hundred miles of me, that’s awesome!
August 21, 2011 at 5:24 am
I’m gonna have to disagree with you on Return of the Sinister Six. The controls are unexplicable, but I grew up with this game and learned to love it, as I have beaten it countless times, and that part where you tried to jump, you’re supposed to swing with a web from that block to the other.
September 13, 2011 at 8:42 pm
Way to go spiderman
September 15, 2011 at 8:22 pm
Wait…
Spiderman is the guitar guy???
October 31, 2011 at 10:51 pm
Hell yeah Yuengling!!
November 8, 2011 at 12:00 pm
Have to say that sounds in this video were very bad compared to other videos. Held me back from watching a long time.
November 19, 2011 at 9:37 pm
no the spiderman return of the sinister shit sucks it’s made by ljn
November 19, 2011 at 9:37 pm
no the spiderman return of the sinister shit sucks it’s made by ljn
November 25, 2011 at 2:11 pm
the first thing i noticed at 6:38 is… (look at the bottom) LJN Toys. great the shit rainbow on the gameboy.
December 11, 2011 at 8:08 pm
Thank god for free roam spider man games
December 19, 2011 at 4:12 pm
@Mssnor There are plenty of great no roam spiderman games. Like Spiderman v.s Kingpin on genesis or maximum carnage.
January 25, 2012 at 3:43 pm
@mst3kevin@Mssnor Yeah, the spiderman beat’em ups were great! I remember beating Maximum Carnage several times, it was challenging and well balanced.
January 16, 2012 at 8:46 pm
@Mssnor Not to mention the Spiderman games on the PS1
January 9, 2012 at 1:02 am
Awesome episode and great song at the end!
January 9, 2012 at 1:04 am
Awesome episode and great song at the end but who played Spiderman? It sounded like Kyle Justin I think.
March 9, 2012 at 4:09 pm
Yep, it is
January 16, 2012 at 3:46 am
damn..been a while since i’ve seen that one..great episode!
February 3, 2012 at 7:52 pm
The rolling rock always seem translucent like water. I’m not from the US, so, is it really translucent?
February 6, 2012 at 4:05 pm
@Hugoso I think James stopped using real booze in his vids.
February 12, 2012 at 10:45 pm
@Hugoso He did stop using real beer at some point, but I’ve had Rolling Rock a lot, and it’s translucent just like that. It’s made with rice and has no hops in it so it’s prettymuch clear haha
March 17, 2012 at 10:25 pm
@Analbag thats me cool, I wonder the taste of this beer. But the beer on the video doesn’t even have bubles… I think it’s just water.
March 8, 2012 at 2:55 pm
@Hugoso Or did he just use an empty bottle filled with water so as not to throw away beer?
March 17, 2012 at 10:24 pm
@senna4ever you’re probably right!
February 3, 2012 at 8:16 pm
Funniest thing is that the best of all these games is the Atari’s
February 6, 2012 at 7:52 am
Catchy song at the end.
February 8, 2012 at 7:22 pm
This song at the end always makes me laugh.Kyle is just hilarious in his spiderman role !
February 29, 2012 at 12:06 am
How did you put Kyle on the ceiling?
March 8, 2012 at 2:54 pm
@Lance7 He’s not on the ceiling, he’s on the floor. The posters are just upside down.
March 9, 2012 at 4:09 pm
@senna4ever Note taken. Neat filmmaking trick
March 9, 2012 at 4:17 pm
@senna4ever It could be chroma-keying as well, though
March 23, 2012 at 12:40 pm
@LukasSprehn The hard part is getting the camera upside-down…
March 24, 2012 at 12:05 am
@Starcraft39 that’s easy. just hang upside down from the ceiling. duh
March 7, 2012 at 4:11 pm
Great Review!
When I first saw this, I thought Mike was Spider-Man. Looking back, now I can see it’s Kyle…OK, maybe not see, but hear.
March 9, 2012 at 4:12 pm
I have that second game on GBA. It is much easier there
March 24, 2012 at 12:06 pm
@LukasSprehn Really? The Sinister Six was on Gameboy Advance?
March 14, 2012 at 7:41 pm
you are crazy men …hahahaha
Spider man here come the shitty games …hahahahaha excellent
March 23, 2012 at 12:33 pm
Y’know… I never noticed that he calls him James in this episode. So I guess the character is also named James, lol.
March 24, 2012 at 12:04 am
@Starcraft39 They’re both super heros so I guess they both know each other’s secret identities ….
March 24, 2012 at 12:03 am
I really hope Kyle’s in the movie. That’s one funny fucker
March 26, 2012 at 12:57 am
Kyle Justin plays Spiderman, therefore SPIDERMAN LIVES BEHIND AVGN’S COUCH?! O.O
March 26, 2012 at 3:48 am
@Lividius Kevin Finn is playing spiderman
April 8, 2012 at 7:00 pm
@Rasite Kyle Justin is playing spiderman.
April 10, 2012 at 3:41 am
This is by far my favourite episode. It’s definatly ahead of its time. It contains lots of informative bits, as well as very solid humour. “This sucks my spider balls!” LOL
April 10, 2012 at 3:50 am
i also love the chemisty between the nerd character and spiderman.”ITS A PIECE OF SHIT, ITS A BUNCH OF FUCKING CRAP” *queue 80′s music* “What the fuck is wrong with theese game designers? they made a game of me and its FUCKING SHIT!” LOOOOL “Oh no!, hes playing the shitty games!”
April 12, 2012 at 11:52 am
I love this episode. The acting is amazing. I love the awkward moments when Spiderman is giving the nerd shit. It reminds me of playing games with my siblings lol
May 16, 2012 at 3:42 pm
This is the first AVGN episode I’ve ever seen. I remember when a friend told me of AVGN and then I searched youtube and this was the last video available. After that I’ve seen every single video on Cinemassacre and I still check the site every day and can’t wait for the AVGN movie.
May 16, 2012 at 10:01 pm
I think this is the only time James has been referred to by name in an AVGN video
June 20, 2012 at 11:03 pm
It sounds like his guitar guy is the one in the spiderman costume
July 7, 2012 at 6:26 pm
I remember really liking “The Amazing Spiderman” for gameboy. I played the shit out of that game. While I don’t remember the controls, I don’t recall them being that bad. I was able to get pretty far in it. Possibly the last level, but I don’t know.
August 20, 2012 at 1:12 pm
there is one spiderman game i still like to play on occassion that hasnt been mentioned. that would be spiderman 2: enter electro for the ps1. that game is the shit compared to the games in the video
September 1, 2012 at 7:31 pm
Is there at least a good spiderman game? i used to have Unlimited spiderman for ps2 and the game so, so
October 15, 2012 at 11:27 am
Spiderman 2 on the Gamecube is an amazing game. It was on the PS2 and I think Xbox
December 13, 2012 at 6:04 am
This video must have been made in anticipation for Spider-Man 3 at the time because Spider-Man 3 came out not very long after this video was published.
January 4, 2013 at 10:47 am
id really be pleased if a great spiderman game was review. and that would be spiderman 2: enter electro for the ps1. the normal spiderman 2 for the ps2 isnt all bad either.
