Chronologically Confused about Bad Movie and Video Game Sequel Titles

LMAO so HARD I roll on the floor : )

I have many of these movies so I know how it feels to be confused over movie titles. Besides I live in Norway and we like to put our own name on the movies so if I want to find the original movies with the original name etc I must check a LOT. Japan has one name, then USA another and UK switch it around and then comes my country to KILL it off with another new name.

I disagree that Rocky is perfect (up to Rocky V of course). I mean I disagree that not having subtitles is perfect. Well better nothing than cliche subtitles, but I believe is perfect when we have both the number and a subtitle to help identify, like in Star Wars! You can say SW is fucked up because it wasn't released in order, but on the contrary I'd say it's evident they paid attention to it, so it's even better. Who cares if people don't know what came out before, as long as they can perfectly fit the episode in the continuity.Talking about Rocky with my brother or friends it's always like: "Remember Ivan Drago? that guy from Rocky III?" "No, it was Rocky IV!" "What are you talking about? It's 1-Apollo, 2-Lang, 3-Drago!" "No, Rocky II was a rematch with Apollo!" "Oh, you're right..." I mean it would be simpler if they were called something like Rocky II: The Rematch; Rocky III: Rocky vs Mr. T; Rocky IV: Rocky vs. He-Man and Rocky V: Skip This One.

I didn't know there is so much sequels to Street Fighters and even Megaman...And Megaman is also Rockman in Japan, released on the Sega Saturn !

There's gonna be an Assassisn creed III it's confusing cause a friend of mine told me that brohterhood and revelations are like parts of Assassins creed II.

Oh and by the way you know the movie predators you know the prequel to the predator movies well there's gonna be another Alien movie like a prequel it's gonna be called Prometheus it's gonna be released on June 8th 2012.

It's like in the call of duty series call of duty 1-4 are numbered than world at war modern warfare 2 black ops and modern warfare 3 same thing for assassins creed 1&2 brotherhood and revelations oh also there's tekken 1-6 tekken tag tournament 1&2 and tekken cards and more.

I just have to say that there is actually a Mega Man 9 now. You can now rest assured that they had this all planned out.

There are only 3 Naked Gun movies. The reason the sequel is called Naked Gun 2 1/2 is because they were trying to be funny. Same thing with Naked Gun 33 1/3.

In "The Naked Gun," the numbering convention of the sequels was a joke. There weren't sixty-something movies, there were only a handful. They just called it stuff like "2 1/2" because it sounded funny.

Damn that really is confusing! Why cant they just use the same titles here in the US as they do for the original movie?!?! The world may never know...

Apparently, the reason why they stop numbering sequels after a while is a marketing issue: some believe that people seeing something like Mortal Kombat 9 or another big number will think that the series is over extended and watered down because it's been up so long.
And I chose Mortal Kombat as an example on purpose: Mortal Kombat, Mortal Kombat 2, Mortal Kombat 3, then suddenly there's all that fuss about Scorpion not being there and Sub Zero being unmasked, so it's Ultimate MK 3 and MK trilogy. That I can understand. After come MK4 and then... Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance. And look at the title for MK Deadly Alliance: it's got a big V shaped blade. You just know they wanted to call it MK 5 until someone jumped in. And look at what we have now: Mortal Kombat again, which is a remake/alternate story of MK 1,2, and 3. Don't get me wrong, I love the serie, but why can't they just use numbers.

I found a few of the missing Naked Gun sequels at a garage sale, but they were pretty shitty. A completely different cast, bad acting and too much nudity. I guess the titles kinda gave it away: "Naken Gun 5: Big Black Gun", "Naked Gun 8: Shot in the Face" and "Naked Gun 27: Is that a gun in your pants or are you just happy to see me?"

The titles of the Naked Gun sequels are actually jokes. The second movie in the series is called 2 1/2, but it's really 2, and 33 1/3 is really just 3. That's the reason no one can find Naked Guns 3-32, because they don't exist.

I really hope you were joking about the Naked Gun films. I'm pretty sure you were as you're smarter than that. Apart from that, great vid.

LOL. I've never heard of the Naked Gun, but the titles don't add up at all.

I remember the advertisements for the Nintendo 64 and the adition to the number 64 to almost every game for that console.

I don't mind the numbering of the Halloween, Star Trek, and Alien films. I just do the research and enjoy the movies. Also, the subtitling helps alot.

The Cinema Snob talked about the Zombie series during his reviews of Zombies 4, 5, and 6.

another game that was confusing was the star wars game revenge of th sith i was like wtf happened to phantom menace and attack of the clones i dont understand why they skipped 1 and 2 and just went along with three and monster jam was another game series where it got confusing first it was monster jam maximum destruction , monster jam and then monster jam urban assault what the hec now coming in 2011 is the sequel to batman arkham asylum is called batman arkham city and the army men series i dont know the order but the first one i got was air attack then air attack then i got sarges heroes and then sarges heroes 2 u know i could think of movies and video games that have confusing releases like naruto ultimate ninja 5 isn't sopposed to make an americain release WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and its only sopposed to be released in europe and japan they released the first 4 but not 5 come on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love this video.You made a lot of good points James.The only thing you left out was that the final fantasy titles aren't really related to each other. They have different characters, different plots, and don't play off of one another (except for x and x-2, but those two sucked anyways) so...I don't know, I think it makes it a bit different. Nice shout out to final fantasy 3 though, that was my shit!

thats like the predator trilogy well the director keep saying its a restart to the series so what is it a sequel a prequel or a remake i cant tell even the name sounds a little bit misleading predators the original title was predator requiem but they saved that title for ALIEN vs PREDATOR 2 but its called ALIEN vs PREDATOr requiem what the hec? it would be fine if they called alien3 ALIENS 3 instead cause yeah theres another alien but we only see it till the end where sigourney weaver dives into the magma i am so glad they made a third movie but why call it PREDATORS why not PREDATORS III its confusing.
