OH my goodness I nearly SHIT my trousers. I had seen the episode before and I thought that Jason was going to come soon but I'm using a really good headset for sound so when he came my heart skipped a beat.

COOL that this episode had the theme song first and that it has an ACE intro.

hey nerd! i rememiber when i first discovered you back in '08. unfortunately, it was in a public library. i remember trying to constrain myself from busting out laughing. this particular video almost had me. the astroturf line!

What I find funnier than this video (or sad depending on how you look at it) is I played this game to death as a kid and had about 90% of the game's maps/mechanics memorized. In a casual playthrough I could beat it in about 30 minutes with almost every item/weapon available (minus the torch, crap weapon).

whats really weird about the cabins, i noticed, is the small cabins (the small cabins have smaller icons on the map) all have the same layout, as do the large cabins. Also, only the large cabins have fireplaces. Weird. Lazy pricks.

What about the one for the commodore 64? Why didn't you mention that?

James, I love your videos! I've seen all of them at least twice or thrice and I can't wait for the movie and future episodes :D

This one however, I feel like you aren't giving an honest "view" of it. After watching it, I, for god knows what reason, decided to try it.

The whole "Left and right" thing, yeah it's kinda messed up, but if you think about it, when you go LEFT, you go clockwise (So if you're on the south side, you actually will go left). When you go RIGHT, you go counter-clockwise (So if you're on the south side, you actually will go right).

When Jason's at a cabin with a camp counselor, you can actually go into ANY small cabin, open the map, and you can actually change to any of your alive counselors (including the one who's in the same cabin as Jason, which saves you the time from having to travel to it).

Each of the counselors have different stats (movement speed, throwing speed, rowing speed, etc) and all have different inventories (which can be swapped).

I will however agree with you that the rock is a total shitload of fuck, and upgrading to at least the knife is 100% mandatory :D

PS: You're supposed to dodge in the "Mike Tyson's Punch Out!" parts =)

Where did Mike get that Jason mask. It looks like none I've ever seen before but I can TELL its from part 7 because its missing the chunk from the side. could someone give me some product info on it?

I was forbidden to play this game when I was a kid, and I'm glad I never played it.

Wow this happened on a friday on the thirteenth, wow i guess jason wanted to kill avgn but he didnt instead the fucken nerd fired his ass to hell.

This is by far one of my favorites the close up on your teeth and the emphasis and some of the words make this priceless I love the way you string the sentences of the things you would rather do at the end without a breath in between. All combined just slayed me man, just slayed me. I hope you read these.

This game seriously gave me nightmares when I played it as a kid when I was like 10 lol. Now it gives me nightmares as an adult because it sucks lol

Why does everybody hate this game?
I play this game every couple weeks for 30 minutes or so.
I understand that it is no masterpiece but it is an alright game.

This was the first episode of avgn that i saw on youtube in 2008 It was fuckin halarius. Remember when you where a kid at the video store trying to decide what game you wanted to rent and you past by a movie game on nes and you just new that this game is gonna take a shit all over the movie. Well AVGN dose exactly what he says He Plays shitty games so that you don't have too When you saw a game like this on the wall for rent you could just tell that the best thing about that game was the picture on the cover and once you pop it in your nintendo your gonna wish you never did. I see a game like this and you already know thats it's shit before you play it thats just how it was back then.

This game is difficult, but it's the broken kind of difficult. I think it's impossible to beat without cheating, (using a Game Genie). I never met anyone who likes it. Nintendo Power magazine ranked it the 6th worst game of all time in their 100th issue.
That said, Friday the 13th on Nintendo has a special place in my heart. It's the first game I ever rented, (I was 9 yrs. old). It also was my only exposure to the film series. My parents were overprotective, conservative, & lacked imagination; so Jason & his exploits were off limits.
This is one of the best AVGN episodes. An honest, pissed-off synopsis, masterfully put together by a true horror movie buff who knows exactly what he's talking about.

If there is one thing I like to thank for introducing me to AVGN, it's the entire Friday the 13th series. If I haven't seen the films, I wouldn't have been interested in getting the "His Name Was Jason" DVD. If I didn't get that DVD, I wouldn't have seen this episode, and I wouldn't have seen the rest of this awesome series. I guest you could say thgat this is my all-time favorite episode.

Jason's Mom in this game reminds me of the 2nd level boss from the first Castlevania.

Thank God, or Beelzebub, or whoever we should thank, that horror games got a lot fuckin' better over the years.

i think i figured out the equation to this horror films that are made into video games = a horrible game its the perfect explanation why whenever theres an awesome horror its made into a horrible game but if a bad horror movie is made it could (or not) = a good game or an even worse version either way horror games should not be made that goes for nightmare on elm street.
