Damn good. I like the nerd episods and the various reviews but this is even better. It’s sad to see people caring less and less for short films on the internet cuz this easily beats any Vlog or review out there. Nice acting and shots, sweet dary/cheesy VFX and a wonderful Mr Mattei … that’s just perfect.

Think your next movie after the AVGN movie should be something like this but on a bigger scale, I bet money it would sell big time.

I’ve been watching AVGN since about 2008(a little later than some I know, but still)
I have been a long time watcher, and this is my first comment, I even made this account just to comment here, and in the future.
This is what I have to say about The Deader the Better:
While I was watching this I felt the air of classic horror, maybe it was the music or the pacing, or even the dialogue, but this is an absolute marvel.
To me this feels like it could slip in right before Night of the Living Dead, and the reason it starts is because these two jokers fail.
Not calling them jokers really, they both give a great performance and really bring it back to the 60s for me, but the real beauty lies in the red, red kroovy.
Using black and white on its own was a great idea, but it could go many different ways from there, that red-ass blood gives this minifilm a hint of surrealism, and it’s absolutely to die for.
I’ve just started watching the horror films, and others, that you’ve made and I have to say that you might not have a future in the big times(which is doubt is what you want anyway) but just from admiring the way this story flows is brilliant.
You have a great mind for horror and putting it into an amazing perspective.
