“Death Suit”

Made for the 48 Hour Film Project, 2007.

The 48 Hour Film Project is a wild and sleepless weekend in which you and a team make a movie—write, shoot, edit and score it—in just 48 hours.

On Friday night, you get a character, a prop, a line of dialogue and a genre, all to include in your movie. 48 hours later, the movie must be complete.

Then it will show at a local theater, usually in the next week.

Where did you get the footage of that building/stadium falling down? That was awesome.

Oh man so awkward that he talks to his co-worker about “trouble in the bedroom” while he has her horizontal, tied down to a table. That was brilliant. The end didn’t really do it for me, but hey, when you’re making a film in 48 hours with lack of sleep–there ya go. It was good for what it was, though the first half was superior to the latter in my opinion.

I have never seen someone get their head knocked off by a Rubber chicken, this was delightfully quirky good stuff James I have no idea why I looked over so many of your films.. though my favorite is still Kung-fu werewolf from outer space that one was great.

The detective guy was pretty good.

  • March 3, 2013 at 12:46 am

James, this is my honest critique…and I understand you only had 48 hrs to do the ENTIRE film from start to finish, from concept/idea to having a film ready to watch. Everything was very enjoyable, up until the very end. I was actually interested in seeing what was going to happen, and then this anticlimactic ending happened. I wish you were able to actually write in an ending for this one. But, like I said, everything else was great. Great music, great camera work, great characterization (except the wife character, but that’s related to the ending) and I gotta say, for only 48 hours, that’s pretty damn impressive.

I must say the editing in this is quite well, for independent film makers in 2004.
